Hm, should the character sheet also include descriptions of our unique jutsu at this point? I'd imagine that we'd be making a lot more in the future when we're not in the Academy.
huh @Vesvius can we combine master kawarimi with kunai stuck in the ground for pseudo thunder god?
and then our new genjutsu sword technique with the improved kawarimi for a surround sound amplified genjutsu attack?

Everyone knows the mark of a true kenjutsu master is using things that aren't swords as swords. Daisuke decides to see if that's possible. The results are... mixed.
Not really happy and it barely qualifies as a snippet, but it can't be helped.
All in all it was a good day.
Some rest and recreation with Ino before she had to go to her family's weekly dinner gathering.
It started lazily enough.
A role of paper and his new calligraphy set tucked under his arm as they made their way to their favorite picnic table.
Setting up his tools on the table, he rolled his eyes as Ino decided the best way to relax was to flop on the table, enjoy the morning sun and doze off right in front of him.
He didn't know when it was the last time he was this relaxed or content, but the pleasant sunshine and the comfortable silence definitely had some meditative qualities.
Having lost track of time he felt Ino shift and was confident enough to look up in the middle of a fast brushstroke. What he didn't expect however was for Ino to stretch and moan in the most inappropriate manner.
To this moment he couldn't quite explain why chakra had gathered in his hand, maybe a habit of his new technique, but this momentary lack of focus was enough to release the chakra through his brush and sent a spray of ink all over Ino's shirt.
He felt like a deer in the headlights as she gave him a look of pure disbelief.
Getting dragged shopping and paying for a new shirt was only proper in return, but he also decided to fork out some money for two servings of take-away Ichiraku ramen, which let to them currently lying under a tree with full bellies.
Embarrassment almost subdued he let Ino lazily poke him with one of her chopsticks.
He could easily block or divert every single poke with one of his own chopsticks, but a true master must also know when to admit defeat in the face of overwhelming opposition.
The Academy Three The strongest shinobi begins from the humblest foundations.
Unlock Condition: Raise Henge no Jutsu, Bunshin no Jutsu, and Kawarimi no Jutsu to 'Intermediate'.
Reward: ???
Status: LOCKED
just wondering but isn't there a invisibility jutsu used by jiraiya at some point? can't we make a optical illusion bunshin version of it? overlay a bunshin on top of us with outside matching the area on the other side?
Vesvius stated in the latest update that he's aware of the unlocked achievements, but it didn't really fit the narrative in this update so they'll be unlocked in a following update.
The way you created your jutsu was almost accidental. Sure, you did countless hours of research on enhancement techniques and weapon compatibility beforehand, honed your chakra control to as fine a point as you could, and practiced your sword swings until your hands bled, but the way it all came together was almost a perfect storm. In the moment you came up with it, there was no thought, only action.
But while you may have almost fallen into the jutsu that you would dub the 'Endless Sword', that was just the easy part. The hard part comes next. It comes during the weeks that follow as you practice and refine the jutsu. You don't want it too strong, or it'll be worthless in a fight where you have to worry about collateral damage. But you don't want it too weak or it'll be just plain pathetic. You don't want the blades that come out to be too sharp- to do that risks straight up killing whoever you hit every time. But you don't want them too blunt; that makes the entire thing like a strong shove more than anything else.
Of course, in the weeks leading up to graduation you have more to worry about than just the Endless Sword. You continue refining the Tone of Discord. You put some effort into helping your friends with their own history projects now that yours is completed. You continue your dominance in the sparring arena which is getting much harder; some of your fellows are starting to step up their game. And of course, you hone the three Academy Jutsu.
Bunshin comes surprisingly easy to you, and Kawarimi is practically second nature after all the time Yui has spent drilling you in it. The one you really focus on is your Henge. That's only to be expected though. Kawarimi is pretty much fire and forget, and Bunshin is easily used for combat manipulation, there's a lot more that goes into a good henge than just chakra and hand seals. After all, Henge isn't truly made for direct confrontation like the others; it's a jutsu meant for infiltration. And for that, you need to act just like the person you're transformed into, you need to move just like that person, you need to do absolutely everything you can to be that person. Only when someone can look from you to your subject and back and not be able to tell the difference will you really have Henge no Jutsu mastered.
Of course, you start with your friends. Jabari is the easiest to duplicate; you just speak softly and scream when you get into a fight, and that's more than enough. Then Yui. Pulling off her appearance is harder, but her personality is somewhat easier. All you have to do there is look like you find everything around you perpetually funny and reprimand people harshly for their posture. Sakura is a bit of a challenge; she holds her books in a strange way and has a surprisingly short gait. Ino is harder still, but thankfully with her the genuine article is happy to give you tips so that "You don't make me look bad!"
After your friends you're on to the rest of your class. Sasuke. Goro. Akari. Naruto. Shino. Kairi. Ren. Tobio. Mariko. All of them, and all the others. You pick a different one every day and drill yourself in mastering their appearances in between sessions with your other jutsu. Some you pick up better than others, but you're competent with all of them. And thankfully, when Iruka-sensei calls a 'surprise' review the next-to-last day of class, he tasks you with transforming into Sasuke, who you've got down.
That's not where your good fortune ends that day. For the afternoon spar, you're paired off with Koizumi Shinsuke, one of the more average students in class. The only thing noticeable about him is how unnoticable he is. Honestly, if you weren't able to access your class roster from your main menu, you probably wouldn't even remember his name. But you don't care about his name; all you care about is that he's enough of a scrapper not to go down after the first blow and you're able to bust out everything. The spar ends with the Endless Sword- watered down version- making it's triumphant debut, blasting Shinsuke out of the ring.
As he falls, horns go off in your ears.
YOU HAVE ATTAINED THE ACHIEVEMENT 'The True Master'! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT!
YOU HAVE ATTAINED THE ACHIEVEMENT 'The Academy Three'! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT!
A blurb starts going off in your ear and you listen to it with half a mind. "Congratulations!" it says. "You have unlocked Technique Evolution! Technique Evolution is a simple yet rewarding part of 'Elemental'. Certain techniques have the potential to evolve into more advanced stages. When one of those techniques reaches Master level, it's advanced form will be created automatically! This new technique is more powerful than its predecessor and normally more useful. However, it does not start out mastered; it begins at Basic level. Try to master as many techniques as you can to see what new paths they may lead to!"
Sounds interesting, but you're only barely paying attention to the speech. The rest of your focus is on your quest log, where the success conditions for 'King of the Classroom' have turned green. You've got it!
At least, you think you've got it until you get to a line that isn't green. One that definitely wasn't there this morning.
Secret success condition three: prove you belong at the top of the heap.
The fuck does that mean?
You're ripped from your thoughts by Iruka-sensei blowing a whistle to get everyone's attention. "That's enough!" he calls. "That's enough for this round! Now everyone, move to your left and switch partners!"
The crowd starts milling about, following orders. You move slowly as you try to think of what this new condition means. You've got to figure it out now; there's no more time! The Graduation Exams are tomorrow!
But the question is answered when you look up at your new opponent, and meet the intense eyes of Uchiha Sasuke.
"Fits," he says with a shrug. "We started by fighting. Last spar should be us too."
You nod and glance around as casually as you can. This can't be a coincidence. There's no way they just 'happened' to put you and Sasuke in a position to fight during the last rotation of class. And sure enough, you see Iruka-sensei and Mizuki-sensei both 'happening' to look over in your direction.
Sasuke notices it too. "Hn. What'd you suppose they're looking at?"
You shrug. "They probably just want to see who's better."
Sasuke's eyes narrow. "They know who's better. You may be a little better hand to hand, but I outclass you in every other way."
"For now," you allow. "Let's see if you still say that after we're done here."
There's a grinding sound as Sasuke sets his jaw. "Fine," he replies shortly. "Do you want to make this interesting?"
You wait, and he continues. "No limitations. We both use whatever we can and go all out. First one to submit or fall unconscious loses."
Your hand falls to your sword's hilt. "Sounds fair. Ready?"
His hand forms the seal of confrontation, and you mimic him. "Let's do this."
Light flashes before your eyes, and words warp into being in front of you.
ACADEMY FINAL BOSS: UCHIHA SASUKE.
"Ready?" Iruka-sensei calls. "Fight!"
Sasuke won't be an easy opponent, not even for you. He's not holding back at all and has his full arsenal at his disposal. It'll take a good plan to not only beat him, but to do it a manner that proves your superiority for the onlookers.
What will you do?

EDIT: THE MORATORIUM IS PASSED. VOTE AWAY.
As a former courtesan, Satomura Manami is trained in countless skills. Among them is the ability to play countless games to amuse her callers. One flaw: she *may* be a terrible loser at those games, and an even worse winner.
Daisuke's most dangerous opponent challenges him again. Perhaps this time he will finally land a blow on Turtle-san.
Little do the Academy Students know that during the last marking period, their every move and motion is tracked by prospective teachers. One of those teachers decides to do nothing but follow Daisuke for a day. It is an enlightening experience.
This meeting of the Daisuke Rules, Sasuke Drools club is called to order! Club President Tsuda Akari presiding!
It's opening day for the class play! Only one problem... the script is undergoing some rewrites.
Daisuke's practice of the Endless Sword was not without casualties. Poor Mr. Straw... he died so young.

There is an invisibility jutsu that he used, yes. And that sounds doable if you learn the invisibilty justu, but what use does it bring? Summoning Invisible clones make it hard for you to know where they are unless there's some special way for you(The Summoner) to know where they are and what they're doing. Plus, that invisibility technique can still be circumvented due to the fact that it doesn't stop spells, the sound(All sounds really) of your footsteps, the wind rustling your clothes, your shadow still being there, etc... There's a reason why Jiraiya only used it for peeping and mostly on civilian targets.
What you want is this. Which seems to be a slightly more advanced version or something, because it can only be seen through via smell, sound(s that they make), and the Sharingan and Byakugan.
Wrong. He does have it as per the Massacre. What he doesn't have is the ability to reactivate it since he doesn't remember he did. To be more precise, he thinks it was a dream that he did, via Itachi's Tsukuyomi or something.
This is probably the jutsu we got for maxing out Tone of Discord. Vesvius said in the Discord that after Song of Discord is maxed we get Symphony of Discord.
[] He's right he isn't better than you in close combat, so that's where you'll force him to fight you. If he tries to gain distance us Tone of Discord to unbalance him and catch up. If he tries to use ranged attacks use Endless Sword to disrupt them. Use your techniques to keep him close and take him down in a field he can't hope to match you in.
Makes sense to me. Beat him with our strength and make it clear he never had a chance.
@Vesvius: Do some Techniques not have evolutions, or are you still figuring out what Evolved Technique is the reward for Mastered Bunshin? Also, can we have some clarification on how Song of Discord differs from Tone of Discord?

ok, so big discussion currently going on in discord, here's a few things discussed/confirmed possible:
- ToD is usable when parrying (confirmed by ves)
- ToD would be really effective if we could layer overconfidence on sasuke without him noticing it in addition to the vertigo and other effects.
- Sasuke's best stat is likely dex. best skill likely shurikenjutsu.
- Master level bushin + master ToD confusion genjutsu might make a good combo.
- Endless strike should be able to be used to counter the giant balls of flame. in addition to being a good ranged option in general. note the chakra intensity as listed below.
- The endless sword is approximately 1.5 times more chakra intensive than Sasuke's fireball.
- Keep mindful of our ABOVE AVERAGE RESERVES (might be equal or larger than sasuke's)
- (Kind of jokey, but: ) knowing sasuke's (future?) history of suicide attempts when terrified, we could invoke pants-shitting terror via ToD... We could even henge into itachi...
- ToD, chakra cost varies, both in effect and intensity off the effect.
- Remember MR. Straw and his handsome brother Mr. wood can be summoned as well. They also cost no chakra.
- Note that we are better than sasuke in Tai/kenjutsu and he knows this. thus expects it.
- Sasuke isn't stable...like at all, too much inferiority, overconfidence, hate, fear might push him over the limit.
- Sasuke has seen ToD before, if only the vertigo effect it can give, he has only seen the endless blade once.
- When asked whether or not we could invest exp in relevant skills/attributes pre/during the fight, ves said "Hey, if you want to drop XP in for a properly shonen confrontation. I won't stop you." (though he later clarified that this was mostly due to the two months we've spent training)
- Also keep in mind that we are surrounded by other sparring children, space is a real problem as well as collateral damage.
- Sasuke's other high stat is likely his wit, so being corralled into a trap/his pace is a real threat.
