Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

[X] [CHAKRA CONTROL] Now that you have begun exploring Shape Manipulation, it's time to show off your already superior chakra control. Concentrate your chakra to one point on your body and make a ball out of it. You've already done this in training, and even this basic excercise is enough to prove your prowess.

[X] [GENJUTSU] You've had an idea for a Genjutsu for a while. It involves your sword, your fan, and hitting just the right note. Creating a technique from nothing is a tall order, but you've done harder things!

[X] [HENGE] A Henge is only good as long as you can do it quickly. And what slows down Henge the most? The hand seals! It's a three-seal jutsu, so with enough practice you should be able to shave a few seals off of that. Maybe even do it without if you work hard enough!

[X] [HISTORY] It's hard to believe, but there was a time before Hidden Villages. You can't really picture it, but old tales from those days have survived. You want to know more. You'll assemble a presentation on the time before villages, the Warring States era, and present that to the class.

[X] [MATH] An important part of Shinobi Math is calculating areas and distances at a glance. And you know what would show off your mastery of that? Designing the perfect trap layout. You'll make one on graph paper and then recreate it during a spar.

[X] [NINJUTSU] You vaguely remember that elemental ninjutsu are considered more difficult to learn and master than the ordinary type; that's one of the reasons Sasuke is running away with the Ninjutsu ranking. You should match him and learn your own elemental techniques. Of course for that, you need to know what your element is. There's paper for that, right? You could buy it- or steal it, if it comes down to it.

I kind of want to be flareless but I don't want to pick up too many tough options. Budgets because it'll leave a lasting impact upon success. It's a good civic option, etc.

Plan Flawless Victory

[X] [CHAKRA CONTROL] You know that no one else has mastered Tree Walking yet, and you're fairly sure that no one has even started with it. You can master it and set yourself ahead of the pack.
[X] [GENJUTSU] Genjutsu hijacks the senses and hacks the brain. A good way to do both is sight, since eyes are like a direct connection to the brain. Why not take advantage of that? You could create a genjutsu tied to flashes of light off your blade and the swirl of motion of your hoodie.
[X] [HENGE] What's the most important thing about transformation? Being able to do it flawlessly. You'll stand and transform over and over, until you can assume the appearance of everyone in your class seamlessly.
[X] [HISTORY] It's hard to believe, but there was a time before Hidden Villages. You can't really picture it, but old tales from those days have survived. You want to know more. You'll assemble a presentation on the time before villages, the Warring States era, and present that to the class.
[X] [MATH] Budgets are important, even if just thinking the word makes your eyes roll up into the back of your head out of sheer boredom. So what could be a better way to prove your skills than by trying to save the Academy some money? It would involve a lot of research and a lot of estimations, but if you're right, it's a guaranteed way to move up the ranks.
[X] [NINJUTSU] You have chakra, and you know how to enhance your body with it. You also have a sword. There should be a way for you to put those two things together- and if not, you can make one.

Okay, good news, we can show off shape manipulation, be done in an hour, if that, and spend our time on more difficult projects.

[X] [GENJUTSU] You've had an idea for a Genjutsu for a while. It involves your sword, your fan, and hitting just the right note. Creating a technique from nothing is a tall order, but you've done harder things!

Synergy with 'independent study' and displaying a non-academy skill.

[X] [HENGE] What's the most important thing about transformation? Being able to do it flawlessly. You'll stand and transform over and over, until you can assume the appearance of everyone in your class seamlessly.

Enhances our performance skill, which would be our second non-academy skill. Also easy to demonstrate.

[X] [HISTORY] You know what teachers like? Comprehensive research papers about their leaders! You'll do all the research you can on the Third Hokage- you've always liked the man for some reason- and write a thorough paper on his life and history! It's time consuming, but they'll eat it up.

Echoes our first school project, showing our improvement. I'm hopeful this also works torward 'student of the past' achievement. We have time freed up from chakra control and mnemonics should cut the time down.

[X] [MATH] An important part of Shinobi Math is calculating areas and distances at a glance. And you know what would show off your mastery of that? Designing the perfect trap layout. You'll make one on graph paper and then recreate it during a spar.

I think this is easier than jelly beans and less time consuming than budgets. Better trapmaking is also more likely to be relevant in combat.

[X] [ninjutsu] Ask Gai-sensei if he might be able to help you, or help you find a mentor he trusts with the time and specialization, learn a ninjutsu technique so you can demonstrate to the Instructors that you have the fundamentals of ninjutsu down to ROTY tier.

Let's get gai's help for a basic ninjutsu.

[X] [CHAKRA CONTROL] One of the things you've noticed that you do is flare your chakra when you're preparing a technique. If you could get that under control then you would be able to use jutsu without anyone who doesn't have a direct view of you noticing!

[X] [MATH] Iruka-sensei has had a challenge going on for years: guess the number of jelly beans in the jar on his desk and you get extra credit. You have to be exact- can't be off at all, even by one bean. No one's gotten it so far, but you think you can calculate it!

Alright, pretty much going with the stuff I said earlier. I've read the other discussion and not much has changed my opinion there so far.

Chakra Stealth, Sword-Fan Genjutsu, and Sword Ninjutsu are the harder ones on the list, but they also combine to become more than the sum of their parts I think and is a good investment even if we don't end up taking the Rook. Granted, if we actually manage these three I think we have the majority of the rook in the bag.

Guess the Jellybean is straight up extra credit, if we get it we're moving up and I don't think its outside of our abilities. As another poster stated you can basically make these things impossible to do, but I'm betting on Iruka not doing that. Failing that I'd go for the trap thing, trying to balance the Academy's books would be...a bit too far on the side of hubris I think. We need some kind of happier medium like a full analysis of the academy taijutsu style mathematically and what the mathematically perfect counter to any given academy taijutsu move is or something. ( :V )

Third is third, what a beast. I could still be convinced to go for the time before villages but it'd have to replace one of the SWORD TECH trio and im loathe to do so. Gotta be a real good reason.

It's been used to refer primarily to crossdessers/men passing as women for like a decade.

1) 'Men passing as women' is a common description of transwomen made by people who don't believe that people being transgender is a thing.

2) Historical acceptance is not the same thing as being right.

Now, the main point of my post, my votes:

[X] [CHAKRA CONTROL] You know that no one else has mastered Tree Walking yet, and you're fairly sure that no one has even started with it. You can master it and set yourself ahead of the pack.

[X] [HENGE] What's the most important thing about transformation? Being able to do it flawlessly. You'll stand and transform over and over, until you can assume the appearance of everyone in your class seamlessly.

[X] [GENJUTSU] The most essential part of Genjutsu is being able to get out of them. So you'll hone your release methods, practicing every way you can think of.

These are low-risk choices that will be useful (arguably) or just ensure that we finish them well.

[X] [HISTORY] It's hard to believe, but there was a time before Hidden Villages. You can't really picture it, but old tales from those days have survived. You want to know more. You'll assemble a presentation on the time before villages, the Warring States era, and present that to the class.

These are more difficult, but possible.

[X] [NINJUTSU] You have chakra, and you know how to enhance your body with it. You also have a sword. There should be a way for you to put those two things together- and if not, you can make one.

This is our capstone. We, the players, know that this is possible. Dai is pretty sure it's possible. With two months+, I'm sure we can figure it out to some degree. Even that should be good enough to show our skill.

I got the creativity of dirt, I honestly could not think of a plan name...
Could you delete the hyphens before yous X's? Messes with the Tally.
Naruto Shippuden Ep 127, in a flashback. Anime only content, but it is shown this is how Jiraiya / Tsunade / Orochimaru get their summons.
Filler. Sometimes I'll take some fillers and make them canon. This is not one of them.

I seriously never heard of this though I never did dig around to find where the word originated from. People just use it for girly guy in Jap anime/manga/doujin that it become the new norm now I guess.
There's a large gap in board culture in SV and most actual anime discussion sites. Use of trap is a reportable offense here, so I recommend not using the word at all here.

Overall, it is better to not derail the thread and save trap for sites where we can use it without getting caught up in the rules.

Thought it is said that he found Toads and their mountan it implies he somehow got to Summons realm. The revers summon would have been deacent enough answer if they didnt do the drop you to moust compatable group. This probably will never be revalant anyways aa if we get sumons it we will sign prexisting conract moust likely.

[X] [GENJUTSU] You don't have any offensive Genjutsu, and that's a problem. You'll experiment and try to come up with something that accentuates your favorite mode of attack: kenjutsu. By creating a technique that conceals the top two or three inches from the tip of your sword, opponents will misjudge the maximum range of your swings.

using @Paloswag's writein for genjutsu, i prefer this over the one the QM gave us

using @dragon's writein here. i dont want both of our jutsu skills being intertwined with kenjutsu & id rather go to gai than the archives

Going for the lowest hanging fruit on control, history and math. That should leave more time for ninjutsu and genjutsu creation.

Sorry, that's just how plans are usually done from my experience, little as it may be.
if it was plan format you'd be right. It's task format though.

in canon there is no "summon realm". They're simply supposed to be out of the way places. The only three ever mentioned are the toad's, slug's and snake's.

It is a common fanon though, so it might be used here. Sometime it's referred as the "animal path".
