Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

[X] Ninjutsu
[X] Outdoor Survival
[X] Shurikenjutsu
[X] Stealth and Tracking

Seems like the most reasonable choices.

I'm sorry, but is no one going to talk about the fact that one of our best friends is holding us at arms length?

It will likely blow over. It's just because Daisuke is Ino's closest friend. So it's nothing personal yet.

They'll have to figure ut out themselves. There's nothing much to do yet. I suppose we'll see if she attends the next group session.

Kenjutsu+shape manipulation= flying slashes maybe? Or maybe we can try chakra flow
Kenjutsu + Shape Manipulation is more like the Samurai Sabre Technique. That's the technique the Samurai of Iron use to enhance their blades, augment their length and/or cutting power, alter their shape, fire crescent-blades of chakra with a swing...

Granted, you don't need Shape Manipulation to learn the technique. But having it makes using the Samurai Sabre soooo much more effective and versatile because of how flexible you can be.

I'm more worried Yui's been enjoying the whole thing

You know, her character is starting to bug me a bit.

Not because she's poorly written or without personality, I'm just not sure why she is hanging out with our group.

It can't be just because Daisuke picked the classy option. Not only are there other students like that, but she chose to leave such a group to join ours. Why? Date Izumi was part of it and he's ahead of us in the rankings.

We know Sakura connected with Ino, and Jabari with Dai, but Yui just randomly showed up and stayed for 7 years. She doesn't seem to be particularly close to anyone and it doesn't seem like we've gained anything, but a surface level understanding of her during the time skip.

She certainly has enough of a character to be interesting, but out of all the OC's she's the one who's motives and deeper motivation are the most cloudy to me... aside from her dream of kawarimiing peoples organs.

Ninjutsu is needed for an achievement, same with the Academy 3. These are the fields that can be safely dropped for now, I think. Of these I am most leery about Shurikenjutsu, what if it's needed for another Kenjutsu achievement down the line.

Even though I see others have done this same vote I'll put it under a plan to make it easier for others to vote it if they agree.

[X] Bunshin no Jutsu
[X] Henge no Jutsu

Not only are these very close to levelling up, they also grant an Achievement to boot. This is great value for time spent.

Any enemy that would surrender due to Kunai not working isn't worth the chakra expenditure.

If we're getting hit then we're doing it wrong or fighting an enemy that is much stronger than us. Oh sure there could be the lucky shot by some low ranker I guess, but then we're just being careless.

This is not me saying the technique is useless mind you, I'm just laying out my thoughts on the matter.
i'm mostly taking your comments as the "devil's advocate" approach.

To be clear, a technique like this it's NOT a priority for me. Not for a long time at least. It might be interesting in the future, and maybe a precursor to an elemental chakra mode like the Raikage's lightining one, or Roshi's Lava one.

Or, as i said, a mini-susanoo.

I will admit it might not be worth it. It would depend on exactly how much chakra it would cost and how long we'd be able to keep it up in active combat.

A simpler version might be to simply coat our hands in chakra, making us capable of parrying blades with them. (though, as we also use kenjutsu, that might not be that usefull usually)

...recreating the samurai's technique (or something too close to it) might actually bring with it some political problems... i wonder if we should worry about it.

This is a vote on what not to focus on.
Aw fuck I got it wrong sorry

[X] Shurikenjutsu
[X] Chakra Control

I think we can leave Control for now now that it is Superhuman.

I want a golem we can ride around in, kinda like the big wood structure Wood Release put up once. We obviously can't use Wood, but we could possibly use Earth for similar effects.

The Jutsu achievement isn't actually needed for ROTY and you can get it simply by dumpling xp.

As far as I understand it, raising our grades in Mathematics and History, can't be done just with an xp dump. We have to put some in-story effort.

don't we still have to show it though? The vote is also to show our abilities, not just gaining them.

We'll probably need pinnacle reserves and maybe Senjutsu (if we were inside the golem we might even keep still to continue gather more chakra while the golem fights for us), but it could work. It would be a very high level technique though, at least Kage-level and likely above that. And it depends on the element we get, it would be pretty hard to make a wind or lightning golem after all (and even harder to ride them)

Imbueing his chakra into his sword and shaping it to extend the edge of the blade should be posible via shape manipulation. Altough that would overlap a little with doing the same with wind transformed nature chakra.

i'm surprised people want to drop History more than mathematics. The rest is what i expected

Our stealth is garbage, so that's out. We're not bad at outdoor survival, but it seems difficult to demonstrate skill in. I don't like Bunshin is lame and we're bad at it, so it goes. And if we're not going to get all the academy 3 up to intermediate, ninjutsu seems a harder sell.

Why do people want to focus on genjutsu over say ninjutsu?

[X] Outdoor Survival
[X] Shurikenjutsu
[X] Stealth and Tracking
[X] Genjutsu

Because Genjutsu is shit.
