Oh God, Yuma bought a cheesy slice of life romantic comedy, Madoka knows not what she has unleashed.

And Kyoko is nervous about meeting her crush's friend's parents at a date dinner. I'm sure it couldn't hurt to give her a little push, right?

Ah, a believer in Great Fujiwara Conspiracy.

I dunno, I think all the side characters are great, from Kaguya's maid to Shirogane's dad.
It really brings flavor to the manga, that every character has a distinct personality and isn't locked into performing the same running gag over and over, imo.

Instead they perform several running gags, but that's already an improvement, as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway. How to convince Kyouko if we have to...
I think food should be involved in answering this, one way or another.

You have your original first edition, along with Tolkien's two subsequent revised editions, as well as the Annotated Third Edition - all in the King's English, of course - then you have your foreign language editions so that you can compare the way that different cultures translate the characters and world into images - and the cast of PMMM is very lucky in this regard as the Japanese language editions have absolutely gorgeous artwork, and I strongly encourage anyone who cares to look them up to see just how beautiful they are - then you have the odd graphic novel version, and then finally, you have a well-read and dog-eared paperback copy and that's the one you actually read because all the others are just for the purposes of your collection.

Alternatively, you get a horde of Hobbit copies because: first your copy gets a bit too dog-eared and falling apart, and then you get a spare because you were going to give it as a gift but forgot about it, and then you have another one that you found at a used book sale for two dollars, and the annotated third edition with the hot cocoa stain from when you were too young to balance a mug and a book but tried anyway, and then the copy from your grandparent's house, and the library copy that was never returned and was lost track of when they updated to computerized record keeping, and the other library copy from when it went through the book sale since they got a newer copy, and the one in japanese because gosh dang look at that artwork.

Wait, have you not seen Gamers!? If not, and you have some method to do so, WATCH IT. It is legitimately one of the funniest anime ever.

It also maaaay have served as the inspiration for It Should Be So Simple. And to be completely honest, I may have a story idea that's literally just Gamers! with the cast of PMMM.

Everyone needs to see Gamers!, at least the first 8 episodes

Big Band Jazz exists though, and is basically that. Though I think it has no real notabiliy anywhere but the US, which is really how it should be IMO, since it's bad and we shouldn't inflict it on anyone.

I actually had strong doubts about whether we should go, what with Kyoko being "very nervous", but I think both of us need to get out of our comfort zones if we are to forge a bond with these girls
