I am very much against letting Madoka say what she's about to say. She's probably planning to say that she was in the labyrinth with Mami, and that she could have made a contract at any time, and that it's all her fault, waaaaaaah.
I should note we don't actually know that Madoka was even there, we only know Sayaka was, and Homura was probably in the general area if she is to somehow be blamed.

OOC, Madoka blaming herself is probably fine-ish, as unlike Sayaka she won't die from it - not directly, anyway. And with four magical girls in town, it would certainly be foolish for Madoka to contract. And Homura and Kyoko will definitely agree she wasn't obligated to contract either.

I was going to change the vote, but between letting Madoka talk (which guilt trip herself) and calling Sayaka dumb is very insensitive to do for the traumatized girl I can see two options:

[X] Nudge Kyoko. She should say her piece.
- [X] At an appropiate time, hug Sayaka.

(Yes, still my vote; right now I'm giving a different option)

Or making Yuma assert control by being cute. And I mean seriously, the idea is being disarming and letting Sayaka confront Mami's death

[ ] Be cute
-[ ] But that's on Kuybey, not you. Why do you think it't your fault? Kyubey knew the witch was too strong for Mami, but he didn't tell her so she could retreat.
-[ ] While Sayaka keeps giving nonsensical answers, ask again while insisting Mami's death is Kyubey's fault.
-[ ] When Sayaka runs out of answers, hug her. Tell Sayaka it's ok to be sad but Mami's death isn't her fault.

I don't think other any other person can make it work: only someone as innocent-looking* yet world-wise** as Yuma could push Sayaka in this way.

* the idea is Yuma not being registered as a threat by Sayaka (at least emotionally)
** Yuma has demonstrated Sayaka she understands some ugly parts of the world very well

Comments?
Well, it doesn't bully Sayaka, and it doesn't make Madoka engage in any more self hate, so I like it.

How does that look? I added a bit at the end in case Madoka speaks up anyway.

Madoka might not straight up die like Sayaka, but she could contract. And then Homura would tear her Hair out in exasperation. And that's the worst Bad End.

"Yuma will become Adult without having to go through Teenagerhood, because that's Yuma's Meguca Way!"

*Munches pocky* "You've been watching too much TV."
On this note, I tried to find artwork on an 'Adult' Yuma. Surprisingly, no ones made any artwork on what she will look like when she's older like the rest of the main cast.

So in interest of this concept, I think I found a character that might fit what Yuma will look like once she grows up. Just imagine the character with fully green hair and blue eyes (and ditch the tail).
And:

P.s. I know who the artwork actually depicts. So don't comment saying it's not actually Yuma. I know. It's a hypothetical 'what she will look like in the future' that I think fits.

What Sayaka needs isn't to be called dumb, it's to see a therapist, she's most likely suffering from PTSD and survivor's guilt if Mami died the same horrifying way she did in canon.

Actually, all these girls need therapy, save maybe Madoka and Yuma.

[Q] Suggest to go get therapy together as a team-building exercise?

Okay, fair enough
You guilt-tripped me into

Even if that wasn't your intention.
Maybe I'll come up with something moral and civil. I don't quite agree with the other co-leading vote.

Considering the way Yuma's parents died, and how Madoka considers herself basically worthless? They all need therapy! Unfortunately, getting them sane and stable while they have to fight witches and grapple with the horrible nature of their forms... is probably not going to work out. Maybe after Walpurgis is down, but probably not even then. They don't say "Being meguca is suffering" for no reason.

For now.
People convinced me that calling Sayaka dumb is not the thing we should do, but I can't come up with anything else.

When I get home, I'll think on it.
How is the leading vote not to your liking? I'm not sure how it could be improved much. Perhaps having Homura speak instead of Madoka, but IC I don't think we'd make that call, considering how bad Homura is at talking to people. Kyoko, too, is bad at this, and she has no more information than us.

Saying to tell Madoka it's not her fault either would help.

Kyoko has an edge on being Mami menteé, she's somebody who has as much personal investment in Mami's death than anybody else, and somebody who I expect being strong and loud on her hate towards the true culprit, Kyubey.

Yuma may later explain that Kyoko was Mami's menteé and even she doesn't blame Sayaka, thus Sayaka doesn't have to blame herself.

(Because at the end of the day it's Sayaka the only one who can forgive herself, even if nothing here is her fault)

Then we go to our second session and realize Kyubey mindwiped the therapist... :(

Hmm. Do you think maybe there's a magical girl out there who wished to be the best psychologist and therapist ever?

A fair point. Considering you told me being a magical girl was an actualy objective improvement for Yuma, she probably has her own bagage as well. Well, in canon at least, considering her actions and behaviour in this quest so far, it's a bit hard to tell? I suppose the bubbly happiness could just be a facade, the way Homura's cold, emotionless mask hides a deeply hurt girl with enough issues to give Freud a headache.

Such a Mythical creature is unlikely to exist, but should such an unbelievable happenstance occur, I think we will call her a Therapyguca.

:V

I think in every PMMM Quest there was someone who asked about it. There was even an attempt to write about Madoka the Not Magical Girl, MD.

I don't think we even know Madoka was in the area, in character

Kyoko seems like she's really angry. Having her forgive Sayaka would be great, but I can't be sure that's what she's going to say right now. I think if she acts unrestrained, she'll kill QB and yell at Sayaka that she's dumb for blaming herself, or something like that, which is a somewhat passable outcome, but not ideal, as being insulted is not what Sayaka needs right now. Hopefully Kyoko or Homura will speak up after our intervention.

I can maybe see shouting at Sayaka working if it got her to stop being angry at herself and start being angry at other people, but obviously there are drawbacks to that strategy. Plus if Yuma is the one to insult her, then Sayaka snaps at the eight year old, which probably won't reduce her guilt.

I get you intend to say it in a negative way, but I'm not sure if Yuma sees becoming a Magical Girl as something negative. As I understand, from her point of view becoming a Magical Girl has gone pretty well and has become a great help to her Big Sis. Dangerous with the fights against Witches, sure, but not the worst thing in the world.

Mmm. You are right.
Shit. I dunno, I was just banking on Kyouko telling something about why being a Magical Girl is shitty, and Yuma just parroting that part.
If anyone is able to come up with better phrasing, or a better idea overall about how to lay the blame exactly where it belongs: on the nonexistent shoulders of the shittiest bunnycat in existence, then I will gladly vote for them.
Until then, voting for this unless QM's veto.

Nope, no veto on that. I'll only really veto votes that rely on OOC knowledge, things that Yuma doesn't know about, or are so hilariously out of character that I doubt the thread would vote for them anyway. (IE, voting to let Kyoko die.) Though not particularly relevant to this vote, I like to give people enough rope to hang themselves with.
