So, uhh... I'll actually probably echo what was said above: how come we just go off to shop? What about the guy that met us? Is he coming with, or are we allowed unsupervised into the city? What about people who wanted to meet us, like the rulers of the place?
Omri and Agneyastra should be with Magnostadt's Board of Advisors, the ruling council. As mom negotiates in our name, we're fine to do something else.
We might get another minder, but that would actually help us right now.

Thinking is an action. Jade now has memories of herself considering radical self-modification and only holding off because it wouldn't be sufficiently permanent.
Consideration of options that Jade wouldn't otherwise, discarded only on practical grounds, is 100% a different type of impulsive.

To be fair, Blue doesn't shirk away from considering any action—it's a fundamental trait of the color—but that doesn't mean Blue!Jade is impulsive. The opposite, really.

While I personally don't want to channel Blue for this vote, we probably don't need to worry about unwanted mental modification from Blue!Jade anymore*, either to herself or others. The consideration of self-modification was like Red!Jade calling normal Jade weak—it stemmed from Jade's self-esteem issues. Now that she's in a much better headspace, we should see less of stuff like that.

*Overchanneling Blue!Jade, on the other hand, may be a completely different story.

@Alivaril: Actually, can we just clear our mind with a direct burst of Blue or do we have to channel Blue for a moment?

You sincerely doubt any color would do much clearing, Blue included. You'd have to channel Blue for a bit and that comes with its own problems.

That's what you're call impulsive? *snort*

Yo, please cut down on the scorn directed at others. Part of having an Unreliable Narrator is interpreting the events actually occurring, which means differences in opinion.

Does no one want to see another side of Jade?

That's a bit of a false claim; Jade could still try to channel later if she really wanted to. It just might not give her nearly as much magical knowledge without a real problem to point colored-Jade at.

Mmm. Not one vote to be honest about what your feeling and try to work it out?

Ah well. Let's anime!

The timing seems really bad. I'm honestly not sure why anyone thinks now is a good time to try to channel at all, let alone an untested and unknown channeling. I'm all for seeing White, Black, or Green Jade when a physical or social challenge comes along that requires their respective expertises (Black Jade might be useful for talking with Indira, for example), but I am very much against using channels as a way to avoid dealing with an emotionally-charged situation, which is what we'd be doing here in-character as far as I understand the situation.

Very much so. Consideration of options that Jade wouldn't otherwise, discarded only on practical grounds, is 100% a different type of impulsive.

...how... is that impulsive? Impulsiveness is essentially acting without thinking about consequences or thinking through how you're going to accomplish what you're doing, and Blue Jade very much did the opposite of that.

The consequences Jade considered were sorely, horrifically lacking. The true consequences of modifying the minds of ourselves and others were not genuinely considered at all. Much like Sidhe did not consider the true consequences when she rechanneled, what was it, to test if she could get away with it? Can you properly call that a calculated course of action? I say no! Not in the least.

Embrace the sparkles Jade. You decided to offer friendship to Nanoha and give her magic and adventure

The sparkles are forever.

Untill they're not.
Do we still not know anything about the Sparkles? IIRC there was mention of some odd soul stuff happening near when we met her but I don't think we ever followed up on that?

...why did she need to consider those true consequences when the immediate clear consequence of "normal Jade will immediately reverse this" was sufficient reason not to do it? Even Blue Jade isn't gonna go considering consequences that don't matter because they're for a course of action that regular Jade won't stand for. No point in writing an essay when all you need is a paragraph.

In my defense, the snort was in response to Lmao

@SynchronizedWritersBlock, sorry if it felt offensive to you, it was meant as lighthearted ribbing.

Not the same as impulsive, IMHO. Besides:
The consideration of self-modification was like Red!Jade calling normal Jade weak—it stemmed from Jade's self-esteem issues.

We didn't see Blue-Jade's entire thought-process, so we don't know what factors would be taken into account. We can't just assume to know how she thinks.

Actually, yeah, I am surprised we aren't getting a guide / minder/ bodyguard from the locals. We are both a highly dangerous personally and highly politically important guest. I would expect us to have an escort always.

It's only been a few minutes since Omri left, and Jade hasn't even exited the room yet. Give it time.

[X] Just point Nanoha in the right direction, or get Mitra to, and let yourself be pulled along.
-[X] Also, the truth. Looking for new magic to study, items both useful and whimsical, maybe a birthday present for Sidhe or not - you have some other half-formed ideas -, any interesting people you meet...

This is so going to blow up in our faces, I just know it.

Just do it!

[X] Bow to the inevitable and try to act natural.
[X] Try to channel White. If White-you is as boring as her color, she won't have the slightest interest in your emotions. Just what you need right now.
[X] Try to channel Black. Black-you won't possibly be interested in a relationship, right?
[X] Flee to a clear area, overchannel Red, hand control to Neph, and let her handle this mess.
[X] Channel Blue for a moment to get your emotions under control.
[X] Observe Magnostadt's healers treating internal burns for later review.
[X] "If she isn't around, let's pick a birthday present for Sidhe first."
-[X] Something symbolic from all of us? You were thinking a framed photo.
[X] Engage Mitra at every opportunity to remind Nanoha (and yourself) that it is in no way, shape, or form a date.

@Alivaril after re-reading a bit I have a request/suggestion: If one character is just catching other characters up with what already happened on-screen*, then gloss over it.

Instead of writing out all of the dialogue that doesn't particularly add anything, use something along the lines of "When Jade brought everybody up to speed, Nanoha raised the point that ...." or "There was a long uncomfortable silence among her friends after Jade summarized what had happened, even though she had left out the most embarrassing details"

*Example: repeating almost everything Neph told Jade

I disagree. It would lose many details about how and what information was presented, and in what order. Take a look at the update you mentioned: aside from the differences at the start, Agneyastra interrupted Jade and we had a short discussion about Linker Cores, and then Jade described Nanoha's potential ascention really differently to hide what it actually entails. The loss of such detail is simply unacceptable.
