Man, I read Alpha Primaris Psyker and think 'The Imperium would have killed to get their hands on a stable Alpha, never mind two, and we're starting towards producing them reliably.'

I can't help but think that if this keeps up the Chaos Gods are going to go 'Hey, Abbadon, there's a polity over in Tempestus that's going to be a major hassle if it ever manages to ramp up, but if you crush it now, you get multiple Alpha psykers per decade and DAoT military tech.' and basically give him our exact coordinates. Just one or the other would be a major appetizer for any major Chaos polity, but both, while creating a tougher nut to crack, stuffs the nut full of ambrosia if you manage it.
Sound in theory but remember Avernus is the reason for all the alphas and it Hates chaos so they would only get the DAoT tech in a best case scenario.

That would be enough for most Chaos leaders, and Abbadon knows the value of superior firepower. He could release the dregs to the common Chaos Imperium, essentially our militia's loadout, while keeping the Grenadier and Hellguard stuff for his lieutenants and personal forces, respectively.

Well dark eldar tech's about to make our stuff redundant so...

So it becomes less important for Abbadabadoo in theory. But still just as important to the nutjobs in the Dark Mech.
eldar Technology uses a entirely different principle of manufacturing then human technology. While their weapons may be better and stronger it will also be harder and more expensive to manufacture. Contrasting this is the dark age tech possessed By the trust which would be much easier for the Dark mech understand and manufacture because it is based on similar principles to technology normally used by chaos. What I'm trying to say is that Abbadon may be getting better technology from the dark Eldar but it would be difficult to make in large numbers so he would most likely only a quick his elite forces because of how difficult and time-consuming it would be to manufacture Eldar weapons for all his soldiers. Contrasting this is the technology trust uses is arguably less affect him but much cheaper to make and is easier to comprehend without having to trust The dark eldar for technical help to manufacture their weapons.

As I said, in theory and the Dark Mech would want it all the same respectively. Our tech will still be valuable to Abby.

Ok, posting my plan.

-Y2: Expand Black Irons
SLOT B - Year 1
-Y1: Hellsword Regiments
SLOT C - Year 1
-Y1: Expand Helguard

I realize some people are worried about the upkeep on the expanded Helguard, but we'll be seeking subsidies there from the Trust in the High Council meeting. Also, EM and AM costs are supposed to go way down this round, due to what Durin told us, so we can get more from trade.

-Y3: Nynye Trade (Cure for Jacob's aging)
-Y4: Make a Request (Request she teach our psykers any anti-Chaos abilities she knows that we don't. We know that channeling Warp energies like Avernite creatures do significantly reduces the risk of taint, for instance.)

-Y3: Contact Eldrad Ulthran (Give Dark Eldar and Destroyer/Ctann info - he probably knows already, but doesn't hurt to be on the safe side, and ask what they might want in exchange for helping us communicate with other major human polities far from us) IF High Council approves, ELSE Fanning The Flames
-Y4: Divination (Turoq)
-Y6: Mentoring (Alphas)

@Enjou you might want to put in a contingency in case titans fail since it does have a low chance of success. Also consider going using Armageddon instead of large Waaghs since the more precise the more information is given.

@Enjou - again I suggest changing -Y5: Expand Forge-Hive: Nechtan to -Y5: Expand Forge-Hive: Belisama. Belisama is on Taraxandra (our super metal-rich world) and expanding would greatly increase our metal income.

@Enjou

Unless the sheets are lying, we actually have several Alphas coming up this turn for trials. I'd really like to have each of our heroic psykers dedicate a year to tutoring.

It's the quartok tech trade pliz go and find where he said the trust knows and have no issue.
@Durin
1. To check I'm pretty sure you said that we're already allowed to trade the Quartok's tech to the Nyne no problems. Is this the case or not? Cause if it was I'm pretty sure the board up to oversee things like this would have shut us down from even considering that.
Indeed
@Enjou we don't need to sound this one out.

-Y1: Contact Eldrad Ulthran (Give Dark Eldar info - he probably knows already, but doesn't hurt to be on the safe side)
We can do multiple things in a single contact Eldrad. So maybe add ask about warning the Necrons about the Ctann since we should only bring up the tech trade after the high council meeting?

We would still need to ask about giving them a new city, as that would affect the Protectorate treaty.

Added info on the Destroyer/Ctann.

There's nothing we can do about massive WAAGHS that the Eldar aren't already doing. Focus on increasing our own ability first. Plus, a decent tech to upgrade our Neo Astropaths is crucial before we contact the major human empires, considering how critical something like that would be for them.

Apparently that's something we don't need to ask either due to the terms of the treaty they just want it and it's between us and the quartok high council ain't got jack to do with it.

Really? Honestly I find this not being something we're not supposed to ask the other members of the Trust about to be utterly strange. I mean, one of the big things a number of them told us not to do was to give Avernus Xenos tech. Even if it's with xenotech, uplifting a race seems like it'd be a big fucking deal. Why is this not the case, @Durin?

OK, maybe I'm being too generous when I say 95% bullshit and 99.5% is closer. That 0.5% still matters and has to be sorted from the rest. The 99.5% needs to be cut away to give us a hope of keeping ahead in a galaxy filled with monsters. The way to cut that 99.5% is not a purge or civil war - the true believers are loyal, sincere and valuable. We want them to stay productive (if unhappy) through the reform process and accept (if grudgingly) the result.
The way you think is naive to a dangerous and self-destructive degree. A large part of the problem is that we don't know - and, importantly, often can't know - which is bullshit and which is legit. Imagine, for instance, an incident where something bad happened and someone made a ritual to prevent that bad thing from happening ever again. Centuries later and the incident and the reason for conducting the ritual are forgotten, but the ritual is still done and so the bad thing doesn't happen. If we miscategorise the ritual as "bullshit" and remove it, the bad thing will happen.

This exact kind of thing nearly happened in a game called Paths of Civilisation. In it, the civilisation's forest was suffering from a massive tree blight. They devised a ritual that needed doing often so that the forest wouldn't die. Centuries later, the near destruction of the forest by the blight was considered myth and not believed by some. People who were doubting the rituals of the religion in the name of proto-science wanted to test the ritual to see if it actually did anything by ceasing it. If they did, they would've found that it didn't do anything and stopped doing the ritual. The problem is that the effects of not doing the ritual would've become apparent only decades after they'd stopped performing the ritual, eventually dooming the civilisation or at the very least driving it into crisis. The situation was avoided by testing another ritual, one that happened to have negative effects soon after ceasing it, but the point remains - sometimes, it's better to just blindly believe in rituals rather than test them to see if they work. This is especially true here in 40k where magic and power-through-belief are confirmed to be actual things.

Ok I cannot go with expanding the Hellguard till we after we have the meeting because we are going to start to loose EM and we do not know about Taxes or the rebate increase. So I am doing a bunch of tech implementations instead. I am mentoring the Alpha 3 times. Upgrading Belisma since it is on the metal world. Sounding out tech implementation. Also I am putting off contacting Eldrar till next turn since apparently bothering him too much is a bad idea. Also trying to get as much information before the meeting. Going the Transcendence route and having Ridicully diving that too for the boost. using the free divination on Armageddon.

Was this something we were told during discussion this turn or was it from before that? Because the Helguard expansion is a heavy investment of resources so it might be best to wait a turn to see what we will actually be able to marshall then risk running a minimal net income or even a loss, either one would make additional projects difficult to pursue.
