Not too bad, everything is in small enough chunks to dig through fairly quickly.

On the subject of Discord stuffs: I teased Superslayer being behind Pioneer, Level 50 Panoply, and six other slayer abilities. Tear the Gods from their Heights is behind Abomination and a personal accomplishment of beating something where TTGFTH would be very useful.
Well, Twisted Metal shows us we do need SuperSlayer. Or a different method of piercing Existence-based barriers. Would Trans Smasher work?

4) Gating 15, Shifting 15, Standing Wave (1685/2281 EXP)(Long-Ranged Wave Force)
However, none of these are in any way critical right now.
And that is reason why I am going to wait and see. If we get 3500 total EXP (just 1219 more!), we can purchase Pioneer. If we get 6000 total EXP, we can purchase any one of the three gated abilities - be it Pioneer, Paragon, or Abomination. And are mostly guaranteed to have at least one of the other two with prerequisites complete.
This is my stated EXP goal right now - to get 6000 EXP (5950 - the highest - if we're trying for Paragon directly, 6370 if we also purchase Formidable Defenses x2) and get at least one of the gated abilities out of the way. With how generous this mission has been to us so far, I think we can do that.
Now for the update.
1) I find the behavior of the demon positively hilarious! He acted very much like someone trying to be unobtrusive, unnoticed, out of the way, non-threatening, and not-at-all-a-target bystander. It's like he was traumatized by Summit or something! Oh, wait, wasn't she the one to give him the scarring?
2) Huh, for a Red-Resurrected Meatpuppet, and even for a normal person, Starlancer is acting remarkably level-headed. And she has excellent survival instincts - what with recognising she'd be killed in a single strike from Summit. I'm not certain if she had recognised DarkSlayer for what it was, or whether it's simply instinct - but her being compliant is a pleasant surprise. ---That said, Starlancer is not our friend. Knock her out immediately.
3) Twisted Metal has Super Drowning Skills, apparently. Color me surprised.
4) Silver Regent uses Rule of Gold! It's not very effective... Summit uses Vengeful Braining! It's super effective!
5) Silver Regent and Twisted Metal destroyed the tunnels leading out. How helpful of them.
Now, for the few questions I'd like to ask, from @kelllogo:
1) How many Attacks per Turn do we have now? The last Ceaseless Warrior blurb seems to indicate we have 4 extras, and 5 base - for a total of 9...
2) Can we Shift to the other side of the cave-in, kill everyone, collapse the tunnel - the most important part - and return back to the room, in 2 turns?
3) Silver Regent and Twisted Metal are knocked out. Good. Are they untransformed?
4) This is... the second time I've seen Summit do "Resistant to AFFINITY Effects". The first time, it was Darkness Effects, vs StarLancer. The second time it is Rule Effects, vs Silver Regent. Notably, StarLancer's attack this time does not have this. Last time it was said that the damage reduction is supposed to be "10% of the most significant digit", and this seems to work the same in this situation. But what are the affinities that trigger it and why?
5) Would Trans Smasher have any effect on Existence-based no-sells like Twisted Metal's?
6) Back in the day, we purchased Serene in Adversity. It's supposed to work against damage from environmental effects. Does UD Zone of Control count as an environmental effect? And why not, if it doesn't?
7) Back in the day, you gave us OP Fiat on Unstoppable-Supremacy-SuperSlayer that Crystalwatcher later (the very next post) yoinked to use in the main quest. According to that, Unstoppable should leak through Twisted Metal's Existence-based defense. Is that still true?
8) Back in the day, you told us Peerless Explorer upgrades Upon Iron Wings, removing its downside. Unfortunately, it's just about the only ability Summit had that I cannot track the original text for. Care to tell us what the drawback was?
Now for my thoughts about the plan.
With the device exploding, we have succeeded in the stated goal of distrupting whatever means of making new tunnels quickly the demons had. Presumably. This means we can actually go and kill the demons on the other side, and in doing so delay the most likely means of entry. Luckily, we hit Silver Regent fast enough to prevent the negation of our teleports. I am somewhat unhappy about the idea of shooting up the ceiling to cause further cave-in within the room itself - but I believe this is one of the cases where "perfect" is the enemy of "good enough".
Things to also do:
1) Call the base, tell them to prepare for your return
2) Check the captives and the rescuee for magical marks, scrape them off with Horrorslayer panoply - after you've returned
3) See about acquiring a couple of automatic turrets for the next time you need to teleport away and need some cover.
4) If the demons actually break through - cast Guardian Touch on High Card.

The first few days on Millidia were hectic and yet productive. Summit had managed to get a few good things:
1) Self-Repair against Toxic Horrors' DOTs
2) Larger Fuse radius
3) A Law Unto Yourself (directly useful once; but saved Summit's life by virtue of being a prerequisite to To Defy The Gods)
4) Peerless Explorer (worth oh so many times over! Even the Protean slots were more than worth it!)
5) Diamond Mind (hmmm, not bad)
6) That ??? was never stated clearly - but given how Gaia has hinted on gifting something to Summit, I expect it to have been the access to Child of Gaia ability ladder. 10 EXP for useful magical effects was a clear bargain. Our All-Mother Titan is awesome, when she is being nice.
She also managed to meet her first "redefine how bad I ever had it" thing - the aforementioned Toxic Horror. Meet her first Greater Nightmare (Reinforce OP, please boost Summit!). And get into her second fight on the Moral High Ground... Speaking of which.
Summit will be attempting to facilitate a sneak attack via a portable HumanTech dimensional waypoint. This will entail hauling a bunch of equipment through a 'light horde' of demons, as well as escorting a couple of technicians with the relevant codes committed to memory.

Laying down Magical Girl Iron Age to rest (may her soul find peace) had given Summit some very important things:
1) A number of Protean abilities, including Spell Boost and Multi Shot (always useful)

3) Ceaseless Warrior (incredibly good survivability/offense boost - saved Summit from a lot of trouble)
It was good, because we prompted her to attempt an "infiltration" mission. And to her first battle with Starlancer.

In all honesty, EXP spending was chosen poorly in the first StarLancer battle. With the right choices (Double Hit, Versatility of Form), we actually had a chance of killing her in straight melee.
1) Flawless Interruption - used once, on an Intercept where our Resilience would have sufficed
2) Fierce Protector - used once, on an Intercept where our HorrorSlayer did a much better job
3) Elsewhere 5-13 - useless under the circumstances, and costly - this should have been spent on melee boost. That said... See below.

Not quite.
On the topic of Curse - Silver Regent (who benefited from high MM of her direct superior), Brilliant Key (abysmal Resilience, but MM twice her Health and an ability that negates any attack that exceeds her max health), nasties of BoatShrieks (MM in above 5000 for most) and many others have them. Of special note are BoatShrieks nasties, who get Juggernaut, Smite and so on if their MM roll is high enough. In fact, even Tarser, who we just killed, had both a high magic modifier AND an ability that would have messed us up if he rolled it high enough. Curse is a dual purpose attack/defense booster, so useful.
I expect that going forward we'll be meeting numerous high-level demons with high-level magic modifier as opponents.
On the topic of Protean Slots? We currently have 4. Four.
My desired number is no less than 8. So that I don't have to choose between All-Melee (Rain of Blows, Crush, Slash Hell), and All-Ranged (Rain of Light, Ray, Multi Shot) - but can have both. And still have openings for Juggernaut and SuperSlayer. 10 Protean Slots is better, as it gives Vampire and Curse as well. And flexibility enough to slot in Spell Boost, Heavy Caliber, Anti-Air and others as needed. Also, I expect that QM at the 10-Protean point will state "expect Summit to have all the necessary abilities to strike the opponent optimally" so we won't need to actually write up the Panoply designs anymore.
As is, with FIVE slots (5), we could have All-Melee, or All-Ranged, and two additions for situational purposes. What we have right now (4 slots) is barely enough for me, and so I want more.

On the topic of Curse - Silver Regent (who benefited from high MM of her direct superior), Brilliant Key (abysmal Resilience, but MM twice her Health and an ability that negates any attack that exceeds her max health), nasties of BoatShrieks (MM in above 5000 for most) and many others have them. Of special note are BoatShrieks nasties, who get Juggernaut, Smite and so on if their MM roll is high enough. In fact, even Tarser, who we just killed, had both a high magic modifier AND an ability that would have messed us up if he rolled it high enough. Curse is a dual purpose attack/defense booster, so useful.
I expect that going forward we'll be meeting numerous high-level demons with high-level magic modifier as opponents.
On the topic of Protean Slots? We currently have 4. Four.
My desired number is no less than 8. So that I don't have to choose between All-Melee (Rain of Blows, Crush, Slash Hell), and All-Ranged (Rain of Light, Ray, Multi Shot) - but can have both. And still have openings for Juggernaut and SuperSlayer. 10 Protean Slots is better, as it gives Vampire and Curse as well. And flexibility enough to slot in Spell Boost, Heavy Caliber, Anti-Air and others as needed. Also, I expect that QM at the 10-Protean point will state "expect Summit to have all the necessary abilities to strike the opponent optimally" so we won't need to actually write up the Panoply designs anymore.
As is, with FIVE slots (5), we could have All-Melee, or All-Ranged, and two additions for situational purposes. What we have right now (4 slots) is barely enough for me, and so I want more.
Oh, I'd like more protean slots. But they aren't part of getting superslayer, for the most part.
Regarding curse, most of those qualify as MM specialists. Decent point on Tarser - The boatshrieks nasties aren't demons, though.
I'm not saying it's not useful. Just that it's more of a situational purchase for if we need it. It is cheap enough to buy anyway, I guess? But in most situations, it'll be better to just increase the attack's damage.
Do they know we can gate out? I think they are still under the impression we'd die if we tried to like if we used the shift ability.
[X] Stay put and try to use Gating to open a portal.
-[X] Blast down the ceiling around the tunnel. Even if they can open a new one it'll slow them down.
-[X] Knock Starlancer out and hide everyone in the aquarium. (Reconstruct the lid if you can do so quickly, make your panoply look like a fake bottom if you can.)
Now for the update.
1) I find the behavior of the demon positively hilarious! He acted very much like someone trying to be unobtrusive, unnoticed, out of the way, non-threatening, and not-at-all-a-target bystander. It's like he was traumatized by Summit or something! Oh, wait, wasn't she the one to give him the scarring?
2) Huh, for a Red-Resurrected Meatpuppet, and even for a normal person, Starlancer is acting remarkably level-headed. And she has excellent survival instincts - what with recognising she'd be killed in a single strike from Summit. I'm not certain if she had recognised DarkSlayer for what it was, or whether it's simply instinct - but her being compliant is a pleasant surprise. ---That said, Starlancer is not our friend. Knock her out immediately.
3) Twisted Metal has Super Drowning Skills, apparently. Color me surprised.
4) Silver Regent uses Rule of Gold! It's not very effective... Summit uses Vengeful Braining! It's super effective!
5) Silver Regent and Twisted Metal destroyed the tunnels leading out. How helpful of them.
You got the drop on them because Starlancer was holding Tarser at spear-point. Suffice to say that he had no dog in this fight and badly wanted to be far away from whichever overpowered Magical Girl ended up victorious.
Yes, Starlancer did notice the Darkslayer effect and decided discretion was the better part of valor. In a way she's being obstructive. Killing her would be easy, but Summit might not kill her if she surrenders and now has to figure out what to do with her. Red's seal isn't doing much to her either.

Twisted Metal is too heavy to swim when transformed. She'll have an easier time of it once she gets her Sea Legs ability... and she was a little out of breath when she got dunked.
Yeah, Summit got mad when she realized that Silver Regent was trying to make dying look like a good idea. That sort of muddling with thoughts invites massive retribution.
The idea was that it would keep Summit from flying away after Zoe locked her teleportation away...
Now, for the few questions I'd like to ask, from @kelllogo:
1) How many Attacks per Turn do we have now? The last Ceaseless Warrior blurb seems to indicate we have 4 extras, and 5 base - for a total of 9...
2) Can we Shift to the other side of the cave-in, kill everyone, collapse the tunnel - the most important part - and return back to the room, in 2 turns?
3) Silver Regent and Twisted Metal are knocked out. Good. Are they untransformed?
4) This is... the second time I've seen Summit do "Resistant to AFFINITY Effects". The first time, it was Darkness Effects, vs StarLancer. The second time it is Rule Effects, vs Silver Regent. Notably, StarLancer's attack this time does not have this. Last time it was said that the damage reduction is supposed to be "10% of the most significant digit", and this seems to work the same in this situation. But what are the affinities that trigger it and why?
5) Would Trans Smasher have any effect on Existence-based no-sells like Twisted Metal's?
6) Back in the day, we purchased Serene in Adversity. It's supposed to work against damage from environmental effects. Does UD Zone of Control count as an environmental effect? And why not, if it doesn't?
7) Back in the day, you gave us OP Fiat on Unstoppable-Supremacy-SuperSlayer that Crystalwatcher later (the very next post) yoinked to use in the main quest. According to that, Unstoppable should leak through Twisted Metal's Existence-based defense. Is that still true?
8) Back in the day, you told us Peerless Explorer upgrades Upon Iron Wings, removing its downside. Unfortunately, it's just about the only ability Summit had that I cannot track the original text for. Care to tell us what the drawback was?

3) Twisted Metal is transformed, Silver Regent is still in her Magical Girl form.
4) uhhh... Starlancer only has Darkness on her weapon when Lingering Darkness is working for her (Author's saving throw). Neither Light or Legend trigger a resistance effect so it didn't show in this instance (okay, Legend does trigger a resistance effect, but not the defensive string one). There's a Gordian knot of Affinities that are strong or weak against other Affinities that basically boil down to what makes sense to the GM. Summit's Discovery Affinity is weak to Deception and visversa, kind of like Light and Truth, unlike Light it resists Darkness and doesn't cause extra damage to Darkness targets.
5) I haven't thought about it.
6) Let me ask another question: Is a minefield an environmental effect? A burning forest or oil field, hailstorm or tornado counts though.
7) Unstoppable would leak through, yes. It just wouldn't do enough damage to outpace Twisted's regen in this case.
8) It used to penalize Base Damage if Resilience was reduced.

I think all the plans we have call for knocking her out/choking a bitch. Considering if she tries to transform we'll likely just make her pop instead, it would stick I think.

And yet, she has both eaten a HeroSlayer weapon recently (Mica's Spear IIRC) and has been known to get new Protean ability options from eating interesting things (she got Fire and Blood by eating weapons of Asura). Finally, TTTGFTH was teased as one of abilities Summit might gain, and she already has TDTG, so Existence-based modifiers aren't altogether an alien concept to her.
To sum up, I would not be too surprised if she gets the purchase option once she eats a LegendSlayer to go along with HeroSlayer she already ate, and/or Inspects an actual Trans Smasher. No damage boost, but sufficient commonality in defense negations to pierce no-sells based on existence disparity. Say, is there MythSlayer or StorySlayer?

Fair point. Summit having the capability to do 5100*5*3=76500 damage with Danmaku, Ray (5 attacks) and Triple Shot should still allow us leeway at least if we aren't distracted.
I never equated it to a minefield though. I thought they, say, metaphorically filled the higher dimensions with fire or a similar hazard. Not that they put in lots of pressure sensors that trigger pitfall traps.

Those 10 slots are a late-game desire, as in "nothing better to do but raise Aegis Field and Teleport". Don't worry, I'm not taking away your fun any time soon. I'm having fun too, you know.
If you want to make the limit, make it the same progression as Panoply attacks sans Ceaseless Warrior. 1 base and one more for 8 full levels. Gives us a limit of 5 now, 6 at Panoply 40 and 7 at Panoply 50, at the practical limit of Panoply leveling. Additional bonus is that in this case we NEVER were out of bounds with the number of slots, not on level 1, and not when we first raised the number of slots to 4 before the night watch. Another bonus is ease of bookkeeping.

I haven't seen that line about mugging a god. Even though it does make sense somewhat.
I have to wonder if roughing up Solid Core's Gabriel or perhaps Judgement Core (poor dear is so bulliable) would suffice.
P.S. Assuming 90% damage reduction for Wave Force leaking through Twisted Metal's no-sell, it has (6349*0.8)+1400+200+d400+d700 = 6680-7780 damage, or 668-778 with the damage reduction.
Even assuming regen does not work on the seal, it's around 10 Wave Forces. Not in a timely manner indeed.
