Under the Open Sky (CWMGQ Spinoff)

I was there when these sheets were made so I'm not allowed to make any plans.

For the record though:

-Artist's depiction of Kelllogo, right now

looking at twisted metals sheet, her defenses is almost certainly one of the weird ones. I'm assuming we won't be able to drop her without seeing her sheet.
That or killing her outright via Unstoppable Wave Force. Or using the status effects we don't have anyway.

Incidentally, was it ever clarified how N/A Resilience interacts with Shred/Disintegrate/Erase kill effects?

she's a werid tank they brought to counter us. we've already seen one thing that has defenses against scale to target, I suspect she has something similar. Either way, I'm not confident in dropping her so we should start with the squishes. like that fragile looking caster.

Twisted Metal is barely an issue due to weird defenses. Also, she has GOOD Regen as a pair to her weirdness, so she's probably not invulnerable outright.
You're assuming Regent doesn't counter as well somehow.
Highly improbable. Even if she has some kind of defense (like a talisman made from the spatial prison's remains to stabilize the continuum around her) Wave Force is on record for destroying anything it met so far. Literally, nothing we cast it on survived the battle. Even the pile of no-longer-animate rock :V . Or the spatial prison.

while it's possible that her one unknown ability is somer fucky defensive trick, the rest of her sheet screams caster. I suspect her last ability either relates to her spellcasting or interacts with her perception control trick. She's the mage, twisted metal, on the other hand, seems to far more defensive oriented. The only person we know we can drop is spear and the demon since we know their full sheet, but I strongly suspect that silver staff lacks a potent passive defensive ability.

I'm not saying we can't kill her. I'm saying she probably has one of those defensive abilities that means she's going to need specific kinds of attacks to take down, so hitting her before we know how to take her out is a gamble. One with bad odds because she's the tank they picked to deal with us, so I suspect she's her specifically because she can deal well with wave force. I'd rather softer more offensive focused targets first.

Huh, really? Her sheet looks like a weapon/attack specialist to me. Maybe boost-self and ability tricks, and I bet she has a trump card, but her weapon is level 41 and has several damage boosters and 9 APT and she has a boost-spell...

So yeah, I can't really see her as a caster. Some dangerous spells, no doubt, but not really a caster as such.

Nope. The attack specialist with Kingly theme is White Knight from CWMGQ. 10+ attacks, good defense, ally boost and an ohmygodwhy nuke.

Silver Regent leans much more on the Ruling theme, so she is a gish - a hybrid build. As I pointed out, her last spell has no damage and is probably Save-Or-Die or Save-Or-Suck.

Edit: Looks like Regent is going to have a very bad first round. On the plus side (for Summit) she's probably the best person to hit right now.

Voting seems to have tapered off. Have a Tally:

Its really likely that Twisted Metal is the one they brought in to deal with Summit and it'd work, especially if we're not getting Metalslayer.
- The reason why her resilience is N/A likely links back to her 'Nonsensical durability' ability.
- Even if she does plink damage, I wouldn't put it past her to be able to grapple or otherwise tie us down. Being a Re-class expy and all.
- More crucially, her 'Ruin' affinity spell could also be the one to counter Summit if her durability doesnt do it.

On a side note, I do think its optimistic that Twisted Metal is one of the good guys that's been sealed, she doesn't exactly scream picture of stability to me. ("It doesn't have to make sense! I am Magical Girl Twisted Metal!)

Unfortunately, the mission also has to come first. And if we waste too much time on this, other big fish / reinforcements might show up.

You have it slightly backwards. We have a shapeshifting weapon, an excellent defense and self-repair, inhuman skill and enough APT to tie her into a pretzel via grappling and carry her off with us as we're teleporting away. She is blatantly outclassed.

With luck, the entire battle and retreat won't take more than two minutes. And there were seemingly no demons on our way here.

Was it ever clarified how N/A Resilience interacts with Shred/Disintegrate/Erase kill effects?
Its been mentioned before elsewhere. Unless they have an ability that does something like make their Base Resilience change in a non-permanent way (like if it scales based on something about the enemies), those abilities treat their Base Resilience as 0. Meaning they will always kill them if they attack does damage.

@LostDeviljho can you please clarify the question I asked before?

Was it ever clarified how N/A Resilience interacts with Shred/Disintegrate/Erase kill effects?
It depends on the reason for the N/A. If it's because they just don't have any, that's synonymous with "0" and is thus an auto-kill. If it's something like Goddess Grey's "Attacks: N/A", that depends on the ability making it N/A.

Crossworlds 16.5
There are a few choices, but the girl with long pink hair is probably the leader. Star Lancer appears to be following her lead and she's negotiating something with the unknown girl. Plus she gives you a bad feeling. The sooner she's dealt with the better.

The grey-haired girl has a sudden change in expression, "Look out!"

You bolt forward and up. She does something and a 'tail' emerges rapidly from the back of her outfit. Somehow she was hiding a two-meter long, cannon-studded tail that has more volume than she does in the brief outfit she's wearing.

The tail has a face of sorts that's roaring as it tries to get in your way. Intriguingly it also has a set of red markings that glow with Epic magic (Life, Horror, Epic).

To evade you slam your Panoply into the ceiling to push down and then into the face of grey-hair to stagger her.

(Panoply: 1,400 Base Damage, +427 Dice, +200 Light of Discovery, +700 Ramming Speed! = 2727 Damage

Existence check fails! (Legend-Maker vs Legend)

Attack negated)

It's like hitting a solid sphere of tungsten. Grey-haired hardly moves and appears completely unharmed by your attack.

In any case you've gotten out of her vision until she turns around. Her tail is starting to coil while she's staying still after your ineffective attack.

A constellation of floating lights surrounds you, racing towards Zoe with increasing speed. She's started to react, to turn towards you and bring her scepter up.

The girl Zoe was talking with is already cringing away from the starting fight. Throwing her weight backwards to get away.

You're going to get there before they've moved a meaningful distance.

Star Lancer has turned to spot you, but while she's about to act she still hasn't decided what to do yet.

The demon, Tarser his name was? Is blankly staring at the room.

Your Panoply starts to arrange itself to land and pushes you forward with a hand outstretched.

"!!!" you wordlessly shout while twisting the fabric of reality to attack your target.

(Wave Force: 7,360 Base Damage, +25 Dice, +1,849 Spell Boost, +200 Light of Discovery = 9,444 Damage

Magical Girl Silver Regent: Attack is Unstoppable!

Stately Bearing Triggers!
50%

4,722 Final End Damage

Magical Girl Silver Regent: 9,200 - 4,722 = 4,478 Health)

A spike of orange light slams into the pink-haired girl. Baleful light dances over her and her skin breaks in irregular streaks, letting blood seep out.

Her face is a rictus of pain, but she doesn't so much as flinch. A bloody hand points at you.

"No teleports."

(Can't cast spells! Grand Dispel is in effect!)

Star Lancer starts moving much faster as she takes in your presence.

"Twilight!"

(Can't cast spells! Grand Dispel is in effect!)

The scattered lights that result from Wave Force are much denser. You can almost see the magic of your enemies sputter wildly into the mix.

Just enough shock to get some distance. You dart towards the carpeted section, but before you can start firing the girl starts glowing and shouting.

"Don't push your luck! I am Magical Girl High Card!"

Streamers of stars block your shots at Starlancer and Zoe. The ones directed at the grey-haired girl appear totally ineffective, just like your earlier slap.

"You jerk!" she shouts while her tail tries to track you, "Stop it!"

(Twisted Metal casts Enrage! (1 stack)

Twisted Metal activates Herald of Ruin!)

Everything in the chamber suddenly seems less real as a red glow covers her. Cracks spiderweb in the plate glass she's standing on and one of the lights explodes suddenly. You spot the ground under Starlancer's feet crumbling as she leaps towards a wall and away from Zoe and High Card.

"Twisted! It's her!" Starlancer screams.

The demon in the room hasn't moved an inch yet.

High Card is trying to run to interpose herself in front of the pink-haired girl, but Zoe has leapt up from a standing start to flip off the ceiling. The only non-moving targets are Twisted and the petrified demon.

The carpet disintegrates as you land on it. Whatever that aura does it has your teeth on edge, and you expect the girl generating it to start covering the whole chamber with the cannons on her tail soon since she's having trouble keeping up.

For now you've gotten the first strike and are ready to attack again. What's the best option…

You know, just had a random thought... And checked Aggressive Absorption again.

It does have Discovery as an affinity, right? So, fun fact is - it benefits from Light of Discovery bonus damage, so its damage is 380*9 and not 180*9 right now. So, I ran the numbers.

If we aren't hit by Twilight, it will kill StarLancer with a single Spell Boosted version (16020 unified base damage, 2632 from 18 combined magic modifier rolls vs 2200+16000 combined defense).

If we ARE hit? Well, their defenses raise by d700, and we're left with only the base damage. And unfortunately, AA 9 (16020 damage) and AA 10 (18000 damage) aren't cutting it on their own... Aggressive Absorption 11 (20020 damage), however, does.

Sooo, anybody feeling particularly peckish? This will only reveal that we have a yet another short-range spell of killiness, but keep our Panoply upgrades quiet a little while longer.

Though Tarser, with 350d2000+23000, will require a spell AND a normal hit to pull down, so leveling the spell isn't the way to go...

Hmmm. Assuming Zoe isn't killed off outright by Wave Force (and her 6800 health make it unlikely if spell boost is used), we can probably kill her, Tarser and StarLancer in a turn or two even while being conservative with how elaborate our Panoply actually is.

Edit: Authorial Ninja.

Hmmm.

There are problems.
1) Silver Regent will know if High Card is turned on her
2) We need Metalslayer for this fight to pierce Twisted Metal's negation. We also need to be gentle with her... Relatively.
3) Silver Regent's spells are an annoyance.
4) It seems we can't rely on enemies grouping up for multi-negation Wave Force.

Wave Force PROBABLY dispels the enemy spells on us as an AOE version of its predecessor Spell-Cancel.
