Under the Open Sky (CWMGQ Spinoff)

If we ARE hit? Well, their defenses raise by d700, and we're left with only the base damage.
Wait, what? I don't follow. Summit doesn't even have any beneficial stacks up right now. No ceaseless warrior, no external buffs, nothing to dispel. It shouldn't disable Spell Boost. We'd just lose Magic Modifier until we deal with her., IIRC.
Hmmm. Assuming Zoe isn't killed off outright by Wave Force (and her 6800 health make it unlikely if spell boost is used), we can probably kill her, Tarser and StarLancer in a turn or two even while being conservative with how elaborate our Panoply actually is.
Magical Girl Silver Regent: 9,200 - 4,722 = 4,478 Health)
She's at 4.5k health and we did 4.7k. And I agree about killing her right away. A capture would be nice, but... we don't have a sleep spell or anything we can use to reliably knock her out without killing her.
So idea: Hose down Twisted's tail with Collateral damage, then blast Regent again as soon as the Grand Dispel shuts off. Unless the Grand Dispel immediately resets at the top of our turn, then just go straight ahead with killing Regent.

@kelllogo: Is Summit's memory good enough that she would be able to instantly memorize the seal just from that glance? Just out of IC character motivation.

EDIT: Forgot about Juggernaut Drive's seal not taking damage when she wasn't taking damage. So nevermind then. Does Nonsensical Durability negate spells as well?

[X] Purchase Metalslayer
[X] Halt the area
[X] Declare yourself as part of Counter Force
[X] Keep Quell at the ready to fizzle enemy spells (Omni-Caster x2)
[X] Evade Starlancer's spear (Inhuman Skill if necessary)
[X] Shoot the legs off Silver Regent (Danmaku, Metalslayer)
[X] Shoot the tail off of Twisted Metal (Danmaku, Metalslayer), try not to kill her
[X] Get to Twisted Metal and knock her out if she's still active
[X] Turn refresh, angle for Tarser
[X] Blast Tarser to pieces (Danmaku)
[X] Finish him off with Aggressive Absorption (Spell Boost, Omni-Caster in reserve)
[X] Angle for Silver Regent if still alive, knock her out (Metalslayer)
[X] Order Starlancer and High Card to detransform or be dealt with, NOW
[X] If Starlancer resists, Aggressive Absorption her, otherwise knockout
[X] If High Card resists, knock out, otherwise keep an eye on her.
[X] Grab everyone, open portal, activate device, leave

EDIT: It would not work like that... Damn. Back to the drawing board.
No you need Legendslayer. Her negation is Existence based.
Okay, doesn't work that way.

Do we get to destroy the seal with Wave Force/Collateral Damage/Pinpoint attacks or is it similarly protected? Previous cases point to "similarly protected"... And if we use Horrorslayer - same answer or not?

Have a Summit vs Starlancer. Only 3 Panoply abilities were chosen.
Starlancer dies to a single hit. As long as we get to her before she steals our Dice, we have very good odds to come out unscathed.
She ends up dead.

(Panoply(Crush, Multi-Slash, Rain of Blows,???): 1400 Base Damage, Dice Negated, +280 Rain of Blows, +280 Rain of Blows, +280 Rain of Blows, +280 Rain of Blows, +280 Rain of Blows, +200 Light of Discovery, x3 CRUSH = 9000 Damage

27000 Damage

Intercept!

Mythril Spear: 6000 Base Damage, +700 Dice, +300 Legendary Power, -4667 To Defy the Gods = 2333 Damage

Panoply wins.
Mythril Spear Punches Through!

24667 Intercept Damage to Starlancer
2333 Intercept Damage to Summit

Magical Girl Starlancer: 1100 Resilience, +700 Dice, +1100 Defensive Roll = 2900 Damage Reduction

21767 End Damage
50% Polaris Armor
10883 Final End Damage

Starlancer Health 8000 - 10883 = -2883

2333 Incoming Damage

Magical Girl Summit: 1000 Resilience, Dice Negated, +466 Aegis Field, +500 Resistant to Darkness Effects, -300 Hostile Legend Effect = 1666 Damage Reduction

667 End Damage
60% Ceaseless Warrior
266 Final End Damage

Magical Girl Summit: 14500 - 266 = 14234 Health

+1 stack of Ceaseless Warrior (? Extra ATP))

the demon might run for it, if we take someone else out soon.

Nonsensical Durability
-Set Resilience to 50% of attacker's total damage. Negate attacks that fail an existence check.

this ability of twisted metal is a problem. We do not have the needed slayer ability to negate it(Legendslayer).
Which means none of our Spells and Weapons can hurt her.
I propose to kill Starlancer, steal her Mythril Spear and use it to destroy the Seal.

Wave Force will "leak" damage through, but not in a timely manner. And Silver Regent's planning on banning that spell as soon as she can cast Rule of Brass. Horrorslayer or Collateral Damage isn't going to do much either.

Star Lancer could hurt Twisted Metal since she has Legend Existence. And Silver Regent could also hurt her if she used her Supremacy spell.

I think that's it for damaging Twisted Metal... maybe there's some other way to defeat her? She was brought in specifically to defeat you...

Summit can recall the seal. It's quite distinct to her with the Epic magic and all.

Nonsensical Durability negates attacking spells, yes.

I propose a different option: grapple Starlancer and her spear, then use her spear to break the seal while she's still holding it. She can't Return the spear while it's in her hand. Then, once we beat Twisted, Starlancer surrenders, and then we just have the demon and High Card.

Alright, thanks.

[x] Plan Beat a Thrall with Another Thrall
-[x] Wave Force Silver Regent again. Attempting to capture her isn't worth the risk.
-[x] Grapple Starlancer at zero range, preferably in midair, and wrap her up so you can use her spear without disarming her.
-[x] Use the spear to break the seal on Twisted Metal's tail.

Question about High Card:
She rolls 7, 57, 17 and 3. Is her final result 70+570+170+3, or is it 70+57=127, 1270+17=1287, 12870+3=12873?

Hmmm. Oh. Got an idea. We HAVE a Legend on the field. Her name is StarLancer. She has a Legend spear.

[X] Purchase Metalslayer
[X] Declare yourself as part of Counter Force
[X] Shift to Silver Regent
[X] Quell her attempt to curse you, or Wave Force if you can (NO SPELL BOOST)
[X] Break her limbs and knock her out (Multi Slash, Metalslayer) - expected damage 25200 minus 5000 defenses, divided by 2, so more than enough without Wave Force and even with maluses for being "gentle"
[X] Go for Tarser, shooting him dead (Danmaku, Multi Shot)
[X] Evade Starlancer's spear (high speed, Inhuman Skill if necessary)
[X] Turn Refresh
[X] Shift to Star Lancer, grab her with Panoply. Make sure to hold her spear with her hands, fly at Twisted Metal
[X] Stab the tail and the seal until the seal is gone
[X] Get High Card and Star Lancer to stand down and detransform.
[X] Finish the job and leave, preferrably leaving no body behind

Okay. Kelllogo, everyone, how badly will this plan go?

EDIT: Outdated vote draft. Going for wrestling translates into "intercept attempt", apparently. Not that Summit cannot take those 450 damage per attack she forces Star Lancer to make.

manhandling starlancer while she is still in combat shape sounds like a bad idea.
it would be better if her spear still works while she is a corpse.

Going by the standards of White Soul and Juggernaut Drive, magical girls detransform on being knocked out. We NEED her functional for it to work.

...Even my kneejerk (to my shame) reaction of "break their limbs to make them stop" won't be very useful here.

Also, we might want to purchase Kingslayer if we're only dealing with Regent that way.

Huh.

I thought I had Lisa do maneuvers where she used that to move the spear form one hand to the other.

The first. Roll a die, if it ends with a 7 in the ones digit multiply that die by ten and roll another die with the same rules. Add 'em all up when you're done.

EDIT: I feel like forcing someone to use their weapon on a person they don't want to harm would be best represented by an Intercept. Just thinking out loud.

The solution to first is simple. Grab her forearms and hands and force them BOTH over the spear shaft. Like some gauntlets over the hands.

The solution to intercept dilemma... Little more problematic.

Nonsensical Durability would apply to the seal, but the seal has a different existence bonus so you need a different slayer ability (heroslayer) to damage that.

Oh, for reference, Twisted Metal and her best shot (corrected for super mode):

Tail Cannons: 686 Base Damage, +287 dice, + 657 Enrage (3 stacks), +3000 Legendary Power (super mode) = 4630 Total Damage
TDTG:1543 Total Damage
Summit: 1000 Base Resilience, Dice Negated, +308 Reactive Field, -312 Armor Pierce, +78 Thick Armor, -3000 Hostile Legend Effect = 1926 Extra Damage
3469 TED, 1387 FED - actually a lot

Launch Fighters: 340 Base Damage, +68*5 Full Auto, x6 Anti-Air = 4080 Total Damage

TDTG: 1360 Damage, Summit has 1232 Damage Reduction

Also, Echo.
Also, possbly Enrage. Does it count on spell damage?

@kelllogo, does No Strength In Numbers negate Echo and make it separate attacks or are they still all counted with unified damage?

Might wanna add a zero to that, she's in super mode.
Oh... Ooooh.

Also, that and need for Epic-ness in targeting the seal specifically make us require cutting off the tail rather than stabbing the seal... And transient glory make Starlancer's spear deal 3000 damage at most.

I presume that the equal existence of Star Lancer and Twisted Metal are supposed to cancel each other out so transient glory has no boost there at least... I hope. Otherwise 6000 extra resilience make it all a moot point.

Clarification please?

Everything in the chamber suddenly seems less real as a red glow covers her. Cracks spiderweb in the plate glass she's standing on and one of the lights explodes suddenly. You spot the ground under Starlancer's feet crumbling as she leaps towards a wall and away from Zoe and High Card.
There's a depression in the center of the room where plate glass is over, of all things, an aquarium built into the floor.
Let's dump her into the aquarium.
It'll at least buy us a little time to deal with the others.

Say, as far as alternate options go... How about Shifting to Silver Regent, knocking her out and taking her hostage?

[X] Plan Hostage Maker
-[X] Elsewhere to Silver Regent, Wave Force without Spell Boost, then knock her out with melee attacks (Multi Slash, Crush - 14400 damage is more than enough for a single strike), DO NOT KILL
-[X] Kill Tarser (Darkslayer, Multi Shot - 25800 damage expected) by blasting him from range
-[X] Grab Silver Regent's insensate body
-[X] Declare your allegiance to Counter Force
-[X] Call out to Twisted Metal to check fire around her allies, order everyone to stand down and detransform, promise no killing
-[X] If they obey, knock them out, gently. Set up the portal, activate the EMP, leave.
-[X] If they persist, activate the EMP and fly away at best speed. Grab High Card (knock out) and shoot Star Lancer dead on way out.

[X] EXP Plan Get Rid of Probably Uncooperative Demon
-[X] Purchase DarkSlayer

EDIT: Plan outdated, currently on version 2.

Here have something with a ranged attack of summits against Starlancer. still has one ability unchosen.

-[X] kill starlancer with ranged attacks
-[X] subdue Silver Regent and High Card
-[X] if the demon hasn't run away yet, kill it

-[X] get out of there with the captives

[X] EXP Plan Get Rid of Probably Uncooperative Demon

I am against the hostage plan, because staying in enemy territory longer as necessary is a bad idea.
also they might choose to kill her and then grovel to red to resurrect her if we push hard.

Okay. The first thing we should do is probably kill silver regent, except capturing her is a goal. Hmmmm. In any case, she needs to be taken out first (or near-first). Her attack does something along the lines of 50-60k damage and she gets nine of them. She also has her disabling spell and boost-self (which near-doubles her damage and gives it Supremacy.). She needs to be gone.

Twisted metal is a threat, yes, but mostly a defensive one.

Starlancer dies to one hit from us with the right abilities. Mostly only a concern of if we want to use the APT and panoply configuration. We may also want her to deal damage to twisted metal.

The demon can hopefully just be skipped. If not it dies from a few attacks (or one with darkslayer).

Card is...well, pretty much not a concern.

So...

Actually, how easily can we make damage nonlethal?

We don't really need Danmaku to kill Star Lancer if we have DarkSlayer. We get 1400+7000+200=8600 damage with it, and Multi Shot makes it 25800.

Tarser has survivability of 25350, and dies to one attack.
Star Lancer gets at most 9900 via intercept, magic modifier and resilience, which hits her for 15900/2=7950 health. That, however, requires a combined roll of 1300+ on two modifier rolls of 700. Statistically improbable. And if Light of Discovery is counted twice? She doesn't get even THAT much.

2 slots are sufficient.
Edit: Rolled 2d700 forty times. Ten 1000+ results, highest result 1297. Statistically improbable indeed.

Hostage taking is not very likely to work, but Regent dies if it fails. So no problem. And I accounted for that too.

her Scepter looks like a closeranged attack to me, she would need to get near us to hit with it.
also starlancer has intercept and will likely protect her from attacks by us.
that's why starlancer needs to be gone first.

the shooting at the glass plane is the first thing we do, because we just might pull it off before twisted metal gets to make her standard attack or move away from her suicidal position.
Which would hurt us.

How I expect this to go:
We destroy the glass pane before twisted metal gets her shots off, or at least unbalance her enough for a decent modifier on her combat string.
She takes a bath and is temporarily( or if we are very lucky permanently) removed from combat.
They will be at least a little surprised to suddenly have their main defense dealt with.

Our next attack instantly splatters Starlancer across the ground as we win the intercept. Honestly expecting an omgwtf modifier here.
This is were I expect the demon to book it. Cause it wants to live.
This also likely is the point were Silver Regent disables one of our abilities. Most likely teleportation.

and now we got 2 attacks and our spells left. Silver Regent has used her spell and only has a close ranged attack with her scepter.
Shouldn't be too hard to damage her enough from afar.

Kelllogo told us the FIRST thing she will negate is Wave Force.

So we either drop her now or be gone soon.

Silver Regent is attempting to get away from others, not join up with Star Lancer.

My plan to capture Silver Regent has three narrow spots:
1 - she doesn't get a hit in on us after we Wave Force her - it is negated by teleporting and if necessary by skill
2 - she doesn't False Intercept the melee attack - again, skill and speed are what I rely on, as well as being at 650 or so (7%) health left after Wave Force so being really bad at reacting to us in timely manner
3 - Red-resurrected meatpuppets ignore the threat of their ally being killed. Is possible if they don't view her as an ally, or if their twisted worldview has our corpse as a bigger priority. If it happens, both Regent and Lancer die immediately (colldamage from the Twisted Metal and our Darkslayer correspondingly) while we are left with about half health. And immediately leave anyway.

Also - demon who is more likely to ignore hostage crisis or hinder us with binds than the others present - explicitly dies first thing after Silver Regent is dropped

Also - myth girl. Prone to dying in collateral, but again a nonissue otherwise. Seemingly captive of the demon so killing him and calling us Counter Force should make her pause.

I beg to differ, @LightLan

Speaking of, now we know why asking for Divinity protection was not a good idea, what with inverting existence bonii.

Would have loved the Divinity-granting attack booster, though. It would have made destroying the seal possible.

Does Team GEAR have one?
