Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

[X]You Deserve more than this.
Frankly, between Gaia min-maxing, Clocktower and Counter-Force going at it, and this barrier, I almost feel like humanity is screwing around overmuch and could use a kick in the butt. Early? Maybe but screw it, suffering is existence.

It's the right thing to do. Remember, if we kill her, her soul doesn't get permenantly destroyed. The barrier is going to fall soon, a little more time isn't going to make too much difference.

Biiiit late for that, friend. If she's close enough to the end of her century long run that she only gets a year left at best, there isn't enough soul left to count as not destroyed.

[X] Walk away
The morality of both choices is very screwy, so I'm gonna choose the one that allows us to honour her sacrifice and allows those she chose to protect to survive longer

Actually, the reason it weakens so soon is because something in the current setup started failing and they can not repair it. I am rather sure that her soul could still keep it up for another hundred years or more if that were not happening.

I just can't decide. On one hand it would be right to end her misery even if it reduces time to months rather than over a year. On the other hand I believe Cerys would value the extra time to get all of her team stronger.

Eh screw it lets go with fighting sooner

Let's get this going.

I actually want to see the demons come earlier.
Yes, it likely will mean humans are not quite as prepared.

It also means they won't have been killing each other as much.

Most importantly it means the Knights haven't been killing as many of them and suddenly seem much more friendly once they get to killing demons.

Nah, she's probably only been there for a short time since Aurora's description of how Amy arrived and survived during the first stage sounds like she was actually there when it happened, and that means Amy's only been there for a few years. The reason the barrier is failing right now is from what I could tell because Item Creation girl's mods breaking is causing the whole system to fail. Not to mention, the modifications were made 90 years ago, and it was only after she died that they started failing.

Mrrhhh... I'm actually gonna switch back on this one. There's no sense in bringing it early, and besides, she chose this.

[X] Walk away.

What if this is some sort of test from Earth-chan? Like, if we don't unplug the girl from that barrier she'll be super disappointed and do horrible things to us.

Oof, from reading CORE I figured something like this would happen but still to actually read it. And I don't know what's worse that someone was forced to go through this or the fact so many chose to willingly put themselves in this hell.

For everyone talking about honoring her sacrifice? Yes, you the players are voting with that intent but it's clear that Cerys is not thinking that at all.
This is wrong. [Hunger] She doesn't deserve to suffer more for just a few months of gain. Your hand clenches tightly as you look at the middle of the room. I could... You feel the grip of your sword, just out of existence. [End. Her.]
She doesn't see this as worth it. I'm not saying don't vote for what you want but the whole honor thing isn't accurate, I could see Cerys taking a much more selfish approach walking away to ensure Una has that much more time to be ready when the barrier eventually falls but not this.

Reading your post and re-reading the update has convinced me.
Your guide sighs, looking uncomfortable. "If we were to remove her, then the barrier would fall within three months and there would be no possible chance of repairing it. As it is, we can force another year out of it at a minimum. All of the time we can get is time we need." Seeing her cheerful face so... down looks wrong.

It's not that Cerys lacks the empathy to understand others, it's just that she doesn't care about anyone aside from Una. After all, it's hard to care for someone if you don't take the time to understand them and it's why I believe Cerys wouldn't stand for someone needlessly suffering before her if she understood their motivation.

The Light wants to become stronger before the barrier fall? Well... they will have to work for it alongside the rest of humanity if they want a chance to win. It's time for their isolation to end. No more half measure.

Not very convincingly honestly.
I am not sure if this is meant as passive aggressive as it reads. Either way, giving me a pointer for why it is not convincing would have been rather nice.

Though going by the reaction to @MilitaryAaa's post above, it was because I failed to include a quote of the relevant passage... which I kind of assumed people would remember right after reading it in the Update.

Anyway, I guess I just have to remember to do that next time.
