A minor background character from Worm gets access to a compounding series of Jumpchain crafting powers and is left to figure things out with nothing but the nature of his abilities and a vague connection to his passenger for guidance.
The life of the Heberts changes rather a lot when Danny and Taylor use the rarest superpower of all and actually communicate with each other. Of course things go a little weird when in the process of this they poke around in the attic and come across Papa Schimmelhorn's old toolbox...
Turns out Taylor has something of a knack. Probably runs in the family.
Taylor Hebert, veteran of Brockton Bay, Gold Morning, and decades of what followed, finds herself back at the beginning, facing her biggest challenge yet.
She doesn't know what sort of alternate universe hellscape she is in, but there is no way she and the Undersiders were this batshit as teens.
Kathy's Brockton Bay Adventures is the story of an SI with the Tinker of Fiction powerset. The powerset makes you switch between different fictional universes between 1-3 weeks and allows you to build tech that can emulate things from that specific universe.
@Monk Penguin is the creator of this concept in his Quest Tinker of Fiction and I am writing and SI that has the same powerset, I already have posted this as omake in his quest but it evolved into its own thing so now it gets a thread...
The flute incident goes differently, and Taylor triggers almost a year ahead of schedule. The New Wave finds her afterwards, and, well, a Hero's job description involves helping those who need it.
Which should be fine for everyone involved. After all, there's no way trying to rebuild your sense of self after a traumatic event using the worldview of nearby parahumans could ever end badly.
Just ask Emma Barnes.

By all accounts, not someone who has his life together. So let's take this version of Taylor and drop him (and his Mom) in canon and watch as he tries his best to stop the local version from also becoming an Absolute Disaster of a Parahuman.
