The Eldritch One (Celestial Forge)

Depends, if she splashes or gets knocked out of humanshape, she might finish Judas' face before she finishes returning to humanoid form.

Dont forget this Taylor doesnt need a why to do something. She needs a why not to avoid terrible instincts.
She might end up a bit ragged if they're big enough but I don't think that that would make her automatically start dissolving things?

Taylor: *showing Coil the amount of anti-matter she has at disposal*
Coil: *profusely sweating in his lair*
Taylor: *shows him the violent reaction of matter and anti-matter in a controlled chamber*
Coil: *almost catatonic*
Taylor: *saying with overly sweet but Tiny Tina crazed voice* If something happens to me or my dad, all of this will drop somewhere in the world.
Coil: after a few days, he gives up and opens a new timeline where he kills both Danny and Taylor out of curiosity, gets mega-migraine as punishment from his Shard because *Earth-Bet not found*

Chapter 11: Negotiations
So there's no trace of 'The Undersiders' online at all. Just a few unexplained Parahuman events across town. A few strange murders, some sporadic black clouds, what looks like a cult trying to recreate magic from an Aleph anime, etc. Hope they're not the murderers. That would be an awkward first day when I run away. Nothing on the known thinkers in the bay or 'Bitch' either, so that's a bust.

In the end I went back to the park and chose a random bench under the shelter to sit on. Got it down to the hour, and brought a book with me just in case. Only took about fifteen minutes for three people to sit down across from me. Lisa, a genial looking black guy, and a disinterested looking white dude with short curly black hair. Probably all under twenty.

"Hey there. Didn't think I'd be meeting the whole team today. Bitch out there somewhere waiting in the wings?"

"Oh my God, no." Answers the black guy. "Bitch is, surprise surprise, a massive bitch, and we want you to actually like us. And since somebody screwed up their first impression," Lisa scoffs. "We wanted to put our best foot forward here. I would also like to apologize for her behavior. I know how I would've reacted if you approached me in my civilian identity, and it involves a few more punches to the face than she actually got."

"She has a very punchable face." Chimes in the other guy. This earns him a glare from her.

"So did you want to go get something to eat?"

"No thanks, I'd rather talk business."

"Fair enough. So the boss is offering two thousand five hundred dollars a month as a retaining fee for each of us. That's just for sitting around doing nothing. And when a job comes around we usually get ten thousand dollars to split plus whatever we're taking from whoever the target is. Are there any special requests you're angling for in addition to this?" I think for a second.

"I take my schooling seriously. I'm on track to get a guaranteed transfer to Arcadia and I won't have any of this cape bullshit interfere. Afternoon and night jobs only."

He looks surprised, and Lisa takes advantage. "We vote on the jobs we take. If you flatly refuse jobs on school hours you won't get a vote on them or a share of the money."

"Tatts, that is not the issue here." He just about growls. "While she is right about that, the bigger issue is that you don't have a secret identity. That redheaded bitch outed you on social media. Do you even have a life to go back to?"

"Dad's been doing a good job of staying out of trouble. And the way I hear it is you guys only found me through a stroke of luck. That said, do you have a place for me to crash? Dad will have an easier time of it if it's just him." The two dudes at the table give each other a look.

"You sure about that?" Asks the black dude. "This asshole" Gesturing to the other guy. "And Bitch are the only two on our team that stay at our hideout indefinitely."

"Trust me, whatever Bitch's problem is, I've dealt with worse."

"...I suppose you have. Are you sure you can do jobs with us? Your power is public knowledge. That can really screw up your personal life."

"You're talking about the mouths, right?" He nods. Of course he's talking about the mouths. That's what Emma put out there. "Well that's only half of my power. Pretty much all my combat capabilities come from what's not public knowledge. I don't even know what those mouths do aside from giving me extra voices to speak with." Lisa's eyes widen a little bit at that revelation. Goddamn cheating thinker. Then they widen a little more.

"Could you give us a small demonstration?" Asks the other guy. "Preferably not on us. Our bodies aren't ready." My eye twitches.

I oblige them by dissolving a small gouge in the table. No deeper than a centimeter and half as long as my finger. They stare at it for a couple seconds.

"Is that Manton limited?" Asks Lisa

"Who did what with a pitchfork?"

"Manton limited." Says the black dude. "Meaning it either works on living creatures or inanimate objects."

"No, it works on just about anything as far as I can tell. Takes a while with stone and metal though." Chewing through the bottom of those surveillance vans was such a pain in the ass. Only about two millimeters thick, and it took just over seven minutes. I ended up making a hole in all three of them before moving on any of them. Luckily they didn't think the breeze was all that weird.

"That's powerful. Let's talk discipline. Our resident busybody over here did a little bit of research on you. Apparently about fifteen dudes wound up dead while spying on you. Are we going to have any trouble with bodies dropping while on the job? Because we're trying to curate a decidedly non-lethal reputation." Well then

"I have no problem with that. Those guys were armed mercenaries that were camping out my house, spying on me for multiple days. Also Nazis. They were making me nervous for me and my Dad's safety."

"That seems reasonable enough. My next issue is our thinker here. She has one of those powers you have to concentrate to turn off, and she might find out something you might not want her to in a moment of inattention." I think back to the anti-matter. Nah, nobody would ever even consider that a possibility. Just have to never open that door back up.

"That's fine. Was that all? I really would like to start moving in soon."

"We'll have to workshop your school route." From Lisa. "Can't have anybody following you back to our base. But other than that, yeah!" She's beaming from ear to ear at the success. And what a success it is. I have at least one more ally in my fight against a time traveling dickhead.

I move in the next day. Didn't take much. I'm living and packing real light at the moment. Only takes a suitcase and staying at the same location I was when Lisa first found me. We met up at the park again, and we went to a loft apartment on a three story building five blocks away. Really spacious.

"So leave your shoes by the door. Either me or Brian occasionally goes grocery shopping to stock the fridge. It gets emptied in a day, and everybody here survives off of ramen until it gets filled again. Don't barge into anybody's room unannounced. Your two full time roommates have computers with Internet connections." Gross. "Any questions?" We walk into the living room.

"Yeah, why is Alec in his underwear on the couch playing video games?"

"Hey, I don't appreciate that tone. I worked very hard to put this piece of clothing on. You just don't appreciate how difficult it is to wear pants in the privacy of your own home." We both give him a blank stare. He's unaffected on account of having his eyes glued to the TV.

"Because he's an asshole. Come on, we got three free rooms here. You're probably gonna want the biggest one, and if not that, then one closest to the bathroom." She was right. I did want the biggest remaining one. Took me less than a minute to situate my suitcase once I decided. Once that was done she started talking again.

"Right, so now we gotta do some power testing."

"Power testing? We don't have a lab for that. And I told you what my power is already."

"Uh-huh." Giving me a properly skeptical look. "You've told me what you think your power is. Getting a glimpse of your acid yesterday told me quite a lot about your power that you might not even know."

"Yeah? Like what?"

"Like you dissolved that wood about twenty times faster than even hydrochloric acid, and directly turned most of it to carbon dioxide and water vapor with chemical energy that didn't exist or disperse. I wanna see if you can do anything interesting with that. I could also probably find something out about those mouths you didn't know about beforehand." I think about it for a few seconds, then revert to a humanoid slime with all those mouths.

"Alrighty then. What can you tell me?" She concentrates on me.

"..." Then concentrates some more.

"Well?!" She gives me a suspicious look. Then I hear the door slam open and I take human shape again in surprise.

*Bark! Bark!*

"I see some new shoes here. Alec, is the new girl here so I can finally scare her off?"

Powers gained this chapter

Blank II (Essential Body Modification Supplement) (200CP)
Abilities which gather information about your past, present, or future do not work on you. This includes scrying, divination, mind reading, and even cold reading and lie detection. This ability not only affects your immediate person but also provides a degree of protection to items and people around you, making it difficult to predict the past, present, or future of any group you move with or vessel you travel on. If you have the Essential Mutuality perk, your affected companions gain the full benefit of your Blank perk even if they are acting independently.
I: You are immune to all supernatural and technological abilities and devices which perform the functions described above. You simply do not register to such abilities, though your own abilities function normally. Purely mundane skills at cold reading or lie detection will be less effective, but still function to some degree. Dsc: Sch/Ass/Arc/Sup/Lch/Bea/Dra/Exp/Hea
II: Even mundane versions of the above items do not function against you. Furthermore, you are able to detect when someone is actively attempting to discern such information through supernatural or technological abilities or devices and feed them false information of the type they expect. Thus, you can feed an image of yourself asleep in bed to a scrying spell while you're secretly across town beating up thugs or you can have a truth detection spell return 'truth' when you are telling a lie. Note that this does not protect you from compulsions to tell the truth or share information directly. Additionally, any items which you create have a measure of this protection, making it difficult to predict actions directly relying on those items and making it impossible to detect the items themselves with most supernatural abilities.

I love how the forge continues to troll Taylor and everyone around her.
Just as Lisa gears up to ferret out secrets of Taylor's power, bam, near-perfect counter!

Time to full metal alchemist bitch and her dogs
I still don't get why you think that that's a option for her.
Will Blank stop Coil's power from working on Taylor? More specifically will Taylor stop experiencing the split timelines?
Maybe if she blocks it entirely? That it worked at all seems to imply that there's some Superposition shit going on which I don't think that she could mess with overly much.

Given how Blank works I think it'd be more like Taylor gets to feed him whatever nonsense she wants now.
Definitely not whatever nonsense she wants but just as definitely some degree of it; it seems like the "answers" that she can give are limited by the "question" being asked of her.
Your are correct and I hope coil is as Equally traumatized or dead in this one
Hopefully not dead; his powers are too useful when Taylor can detect them being used.

Depends on if his power actually does create different timelines. If it alters physics around her it should still work. Blank doesn't block teleporting or a fire spell either.
So say it does work by creating timeline A and B. Coil A and Coil B are aware of each other and in sync to the point they share a mind. That wouldn't be the case when interacting with Taylor. Coil A sees what she wants and Coil B sees what she wants. Given she is aware when he is making a throw away and he is only aware of his own intentions not what he will keep the Shard is doing different stuff under the hood to save power.

no one will know about the increasing stockpiles of antimatter until it no longer matters

nuke the space whales!

I supose that works on Tattletale too, i have to say that it is a mangnificent coincidence, that Taylor gained it just now.

I can't wait to read about Tats reaction next chapter
