The Eldritch One (Celestial Forge)

So I have misread the environmental Protection Perk, and it has caused some confusion in the thread. I thought the stupid thing rendered Taylor immune to any temperature/radiation/etc, and any magical versions thereof. It instead just renders her immune to environmental sources of damage from tier 3 and up.

Normally I would just roll with it and incorporate it into the story. Unfortunately I already used my interpretation on screen with the electric guy and I refuse to do a rewrite. I will instead just change the perk description where applicable. Not the perfect solution, but it's the only one I'm willing to contemplate. And a 400CP price tag for such an immunity isn't all that unbalanced IMO

Also sorry about the delay, I was busy for the holidays.
Hasn't the thread been talking about what constitutes "Environmental Sources" for a while? And how Taylor could still be being "effected" by electricity without technically being damaged by it?
It's not a published novel, so thou are excused. More seriously, if slapping a band-aid on works, why bother with stitches?
What the fuck are you, a government-worker?

And I was a government worker for 19 years (and a Champions fan for longer, so I'm quite familiar with the "Life Support doesn't protect against Energy Blasts" argument).

Chapter 33: I Did Not See That Coming New
I went a little bit overboard on training during the truce. Nothing truly ridiculous, but I was clocking at least five hours a day with either Brian or Bitch. Training with Bitch was... an experience. When we did this the first time she just set her dogs on me in the backyard of her shelter, never letting me rest. I tired out all her trained dogs she had to throw at me eventually, so we worked on our hand to hand after that. I'm not entirely sure she wasn't just trying to beat me up, but it was good practice regardless.

My practice times in general quadrupled from before, and whatever time I didn't spend relaxing, training, or in school I spent reading up on various subjects. One of these subjects being how well received my actions were by the public. Apparently I'm a divisive figure. Every single major news outlet tried to vilify me, but about three quarters of anybody online was on my side. The flame war on my PHO thread was epic.

Another subject I researched was the history of the heroes and villains of the bay. Not in the forums where everybody 'knows' what happened, but the newspaper and press release archives. And surprisingly things are better on the cape front than they were fifteen years ago. Back then the Empire was far more powerful with three ferrokinetics on Kaiser's level, the Teeth and Marquis were in their heyday, like five different Asian gangs all competing for power, and then the Slaughterhouse came into town right after the boat graveyard was sunk to kick us while we were down. Wow.

After that, Marquis kicked out the Slaughterhouse, he kicked out the Teeth, he kicked out like seventeen other minor gangs that nobody really cares about. But they still had guns and men and shit!! Looking at this cynically it seems like the heroes took him out because he was making them look bad. I'm having trouble looking at this any way other than cynically. Makes my guts churn with a feeling I can't quite place.

Taking a look at the Nazis... They have experienced a steady decline due to cape casualties taken during Endbringer fights. Hell, the only reason our tourism is so good right now is because they lost their five craziest members about five years back in an especially brutal one. Surprising that the empire sends out capes for Endbringer fights and the ABB doesn't. Even if they do only have two capes total.

The heroes? Have done fuck all, really. Behind all the wishy washy press releases and spin doctoring, they haven't really been doing much of value. The last big move they did that stuck was the Marquis arrest. Which was done at his private home, leveraging New Wave's mostly female roster to not get immediately murder blendered. Wow. They immediately unmasked in order to try and promote accountability among the wider cape community, but we all know how that went, don't we. Biggest splash the PRT made was when Chubster transferred out in disgust over not being allowed to make a difference here.

My wider point being this. Why doesn't anybody talk about this? Any of it? All this information is publicly available isn't it? Barring the whole 'Lung' issue, we have it better than ever since Parahumans started showing up. In regards to heroes and villains that is. Sure our economy is in the shitter, but where isn't it? And that whole bit about not being allowed to make a difference has got to be the biggest red flag I have ever seen in my life. Bigger than the ones I've seen from Alec even.

I also found out what the PRT is calling me in their official press releases...

Enough philosophizing though. We have a mission from Coil right now. He gathered Intel on the E88 during the truce and we're about to raid one of their storehouses. A little less exciting compared to my other exploits, but I'm all for that. If we can go back to raiding minor storehouses exclusively that would be fantastic.

"We ready?" Brian asks. He gets nods from every one of us. We're in an alleyway nearby our target. We're all situated on the dogs so we can all get there at the same time. He leads the charge on the dog he's on, while I'm riding with Alec, and Tattletale is riding bitch with Bitch. The dogs rip the door off in a cacophony of splintering wood and metal tearing, and I'm on point.

That's Alabaster just chilling on the couch. A Nazi cape with a constantly resetting immortality power who is just stark white. He's aiming his gun at me.

"GUYS! CA-glrrk" I gasp as the previously unseen thug to my left grabs me by the 'throat'.

"Well looky what we have here. The local money pinata." I try dissolving the grip he has on me, but, of course, he's a brute. He throws me out of the window right quick.

"Kill them." He says almost nonchalantly. I hear the rapport of gunfire as Alabaster unloads into one of the dogs, and in response Grue turns the whole area pitch black. But not before I see a shifting mass of malevolent knives and metal come through the window after me.

Oh that was Hookwolf. Hookwolf just threw me out a window and is landing on top of me. He grunts as his blades pierce me and fail to hurt.

"Messy bitch. Cricket be a dear and unmake their eardrums." He's still shifting a little bit, and dragging me with him.

"Amoeba!!" From Grue. Yeah, I hate it. I'm just about to to remove myself from Hookwolf before I lose any sense of direction and balance. Oh God why? I gotta make due with my proprioception and hand eye coordination and that is just not cutting it. Bitch's dogs are barking at the Nazis, and in response,

*BANG*

*BANG*

*BANG*

You know what? I think I'm done with these nazi fucks trying to kill my friends. I might not be able to stand or tell which way is down right now, but I can tell Hookwolf here is moving. I start gripping and pulling shit apart randomly to try and stop that from happening. I am rewarded by my efforts with flailing motions and skittering blade on pavement sounds. I reach into the shifting mass of blades some more an pull-

*CRUNCH*

Wait, what was that sound? Wait, why am I feeling blood drip onto me? Hookwolf can bleed?! Since when!? I thought he was just made of metal! Almost as soon as I can formulate these questions, the bastard shrieks, my entire world gets shaken, and whatever Cricket is doing redoubled on me and I can't really keep my shape in response. I basically just melt out of Hookwolf onto the pavement.

"What, did the Nazi not like what I did to him?" I taunt. "Well too bad! Get over here and give me another hug!"

"Taylor?!" From Alec on the dog.

"Alabaster, Cricket, we're retreating!" Hookwolf growls out. He makes good on his word and muffledly skitters away down the street. Cricket's stupid anti balance aura goes with him. It's still pitch black out right now because of Grue's fog, but I latch onto Regent's mount and pull myself up.

"Yeah it's me. Hey Grue are we still robbing this place?"

"Hell no!!" Sounds like he's across the street, but he's probably only a couple yards away. "We're leaving before they come back with reinforcements. Let's go!"

Back at the loft we get to licking our wounds and taking stock of the situation. The dogs got off the lightest due to the trickery Bitch's power does with their forms, but the woman herself was bleeding from her ears for a little while. She was closest to Cricket in the fight.

"So Tatts. You got any insights as to how that clusterfuck happened?" Asks Brian.

"Well I can tell you they weren't surprised to see us!!" She yells out. "They weren't expecting us specifically though, so I get the feeling they were feeding a line to one of the boss's sources to see who they were spying for!!"

"Goody. Taylor, what happened back there?" And all I can hear from that is 'how are you still alive?'

"Well I got engulfed by him, and I guess it didn't really matter to me." As I combine and separate my index fingers as a demonstration.

"Gee, you think?" Sneers Alec.

"Well excuse me for not going that far in my power testing! It seemed like kind of a bad idea at the time! Anyways when I was inside him I couldn't coordinate myself due to whatever Cricket was doing. So I started trying to pull him apart from the inside. I'm pretty sure I found something organic." Brian looks simultaneously happy and mildly disgusted at my news. I'll take it.

"Lisa please tell our boss that we're not taking any jobs until he's got his intelligence situation sorted."

"Will do!!" As she gives him a thumbs up.

A few days later there's a shooting at the PRT building with multiple dead officials and officers. Then the call came back from 'the boss' that we're on double pay for a month to lay low.

God damnit Coil, what the fuck are you doing?

AN: and now to calculate how much time Taylor spent training total. Yay...

Also a friendly reminder that Taylor speaks in the PPG Him voice on the job

Behold Haxcalibur (Modded Skyrim) (400CP)
Congrats, you broke the crafting system. Anything and everything you make, build, enchant, or otherwise create is now ten times better than it really ought to be. Make an ordinary dagger that does 12 damage? Now it does 120. Pick up an endgame weapon and enhance it for its supposed max of 200 damage? 2000. Guns that hold more bullets and do more damage, magic staffs that massively amplify your magic, armor that shrugs off OHKO's, potions that let you ignore 110% of fire damage, weapons with ten or twenty enchantments. And if that wasn't enough, you'll learn anything crafting related ten times as fast, just to blow the competition out of the water even more.

Length of truce time spent in training x multipliers, you just have to establish how long the truce was and how much of that she spent training

Rottweilers have a recomnded amount of exercise of 2 hours per day, which means that the three of them you get about 6 hours, assuming their stamina isn't enhanced by Bitches powers, the longest MMA fight lasted 90 minutes, Bitch would probably not last that long, so 1 hour tops

so about 7 hours of exercise, if you have memories protected from erasure you can double the overall time by training slightly different in the two timelines, since coil almost always has an extra timeline active, so you have to double that amount of time regardless but that is unreliable

this also depends on how her slime powers work for senses, she has 360º vision and is 20x faster so she is definitely getting way more info than normal in a 3D space like a fight, as the human cone of vision is 120º she has 3x the visual info from a fight, also Librarian + stone age otaku means that 100% of that time has been used efficiently, and she learned everything, so we can assume she learns 3x more per the same amount of time at the very least, not even counting she may experience time at 1/20th of regular speed

which is about 500fps on a camera

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qByF_57NuTA

again, I'm only counting a 3x boost in learning

time flies multiplies that by 5

one man industry multiplies the time by 10

7x2x3x5x10 we have...2100 hours, or about 262 days/ 8.6 months of training to the average person due to a lack of job and sleep intervals

at a minimal that is only 2 hours with bitch and the dogs, without any more timelines, with only the multipliers being counted and is 12.5 days

if she DOES experience the world at 20x speed this has been the equivalent of 5 years of training, about the same amount batman trained, though obviously of less quality

so between 2 weeks and almost 5 years, depending on what you want to count and what you are counting

also with the time perks she only sleeps 10 minutes per day, even if she wasn't a slime

at this point, you have to calculate how much older she is getting mentally, even if only by adding 30% of time due to her not sleeping

good job on dealing with hookwolf, metal is generally incredibly weak to acid, making Taylor one of the best people to deal with him since physical attacks mean nothing to her

Recordings obtained illegally are permissible in a certain situation. For the purpose of perjury. "To obtain the truth of the matter there in." As I recall the legal wording. This does not make the fact of the recording legal. Now if an anonymous someone mailed a copy of a recording to law enforcement or a recording was found as evidence? If I recall correctly it is legal to use.

Decided to add this. Legally Armsmaster recording is not illegal if he is considered a law enforcement officer, they can record any conversations they are a part of. Think of the cameras they all carry now. Lie detector part? Yeah probably illegal and tinker tech. Now doing a wiretap on a private line, unless things have changed since I retired, you need a warrant for. It's all about expectation of privacy in the US covered by the 4th amendment, now other countries your mileage may vary.

Of course there is also the possibility that the dog's enhancements give the dogs tremendous stamina, there is nothing on the worm wiki about them having enhanced strength, but this likely does apply

if they have the endurance of a husky, then even Bitch would be terrified by Taylor tiring multiple huskies the size of buffalos

and of course the truce could have lasted multiple days, so these were multiple training sessions, so it could quite literally be years of training, it all depends on how much time Taylor actually spent training, the author can simply give her a set time and work backwards from there

Oh, hey, I was right; Taylor did end up weaponizing the non-combat-skill buff.

Also, I would have thought that Rachel would have used Taylor as her practice dummy for training some commands into her other untrained dogs; not like she usually has someone immune to bites like Taylor.

Also also, good for Rachel; getting some help tiring out her dogs! Must be fantastic for them.
My practice times in general quadrupled from before, and whatever time I didn't spend relaxing, training, or in school I spent reading up on various subjects.
Ah, of course; the Taylor Hebert school of working at least twenty hours a day, minimum.

I assume that this means that the five hours per day are quadruple what she was doing before, but the phrasing is funny and not impossible given her Perks; I think that I calculated that she might be able to get Time Flies to contribute to her rate of sleeping.
One of these subjects being how well received my actions were by the public. Apparently I'm a divisive figure. Every single major news outlet tried to vilify me, but about three quarters of anybody online was on my side. The flame war on my PHO thread was epic.
Yeah, that tracks...

You know, ironically, I think that this makes the Protectorate a cautionary tale against removing bad things without something to replace them.
Biggest splash the PRT made was when Chubster transferred out in disgust over not being allowed to make a difference here.
Oh, shit, really? Is Chubster being from Brookton Bay canonical?
Enough philosophizing though. We have a mission from Coil right now. He gathered Intel on the E88 during the truce and we're about to raid one of their storehouses.
Oh, that's, for a lack of a better term, legitimologically dubious.

They really need to get better at room-clearing; I can't believe that I'm about to say this, but they need to play COD or something for education.

If there isn't already something like, looking it up, Ready Or Not then I bet that Taylor could Plentimaw something up.
"Well looky what we have here. The local money pinata." I try dissolving the grip he has on me, but, of course, he's a brute.
...Wait a second, *Checks Worm Wiki*, E88 doesn't have any Brutes. No direct ones; Alabaster, Fenja, Menja, and anyone buffed by Othala are the only people with claims to that title.

Yeah, even Hookwolf isn't really a Brute; he's a Changer; the closest that he gets to being a Brute is keeping subdermal layers of his body constantly Changed, but that shouldn't be corrosion-resistant.
He grunts as his blades pierce me and fail to hurt.
Get hard-counted idiot~ Especially with your need to keep a living-tissue Core even in your Changer state!

Since fucken when do Nazarickian Slimes have Cochlia? Man, if that's what Taylor's dealing with then she needs to spin up a gyroscope or something. A few gyroscopes even. Shouldn't even need to Plentimaw that shit; she can probably make them out of pure slime.
Yeah, Taylor really needs to start acting like she's twelve feet tall, because she's got the strength of someone who is.
I reach into the shifting mass of blades some more an pull-

*CRUNCH*
Get hard-countered idiot~
Almost as soon as I can formulate these questions, the bastard shrieks, my entire world gets shaken, and whatever Cricket is doing redoubled on me and I can't really keep my shape in response. I basically just melt out of Hookwolf onto the pavement.
Speaking as someone who's had sicknesses that left them feeling like they was on the ceiling when they laid down, that's a bit of a overreaction; even if she can't stand up she could probably still crawl.

"Hell no!!" Sounds like he's across the street, but he's probably only a couple yards away. "We're leaving before they come back with reinforcements. Let's go!"
Ha! Yeah, Taylor's always ready to throw down isn't she?

A shame that they couldn't at least bomb the place, maybe leave behind some Nitroglycerine for those reinforcements.

Also, I know how Grue's Darkness works, but I like to think that he had actually started running and actually was half-way down the street by the time he said that.
Back at the loft we get to licking our wounds and taking stock of the situation. The dogs got off the lightest due to the trickery Bitch's power does with their forms, but the woman herself was bleeding from her ears for a little while. She was closest to Cricket in the fight.
You know, I bet that Taylor could repair, or at least replace, ear-drums pretty easily; just sort of patch the hole with some material or another. Probably replace the bones in there as well if necessary.

Well shit; sounds like some poor bastard got Canary Trapped.
"Well I got engulfed by him, and I guess it didn't really matter to me." As I combine and separate my index fingers as a demonstration.
Oh, damn, he Iron Maidened her? Fuck, that could have gone badly; good thing that it happened to Taylor.
Did they keep any souvenirs? Hookwolf-bits could be valuable and useful. Bare minimum I bet that the MAM could chew into it.
A few days later there's a shooting at the PRT building with multiple dead officials and officers. Then the call came back from 'the boss' that we're on double pay for a month to lay low.

Nazarickian Slimes don't have mental acceleration, even if Taylor's whole body was photosensitive it doesn't have the sort of precision granted by actual lenses and shit the way eyes have, Time Flies only works for her personal contribution to projects, and One Man Industry procs only for making shit and related actions.

If she was shadow-boxing or something I'd think that Time Flies could kick in, but she wasn't, so it probably wouldn't.

On the other hand though, between Librarian and Stone Age Otaku I think that she could get a bit more then just a times-three multiplier on learning; exceptional cross-referencing combined with perfect/automatic recognition of variation between actions, that's some Deep Learning type shit; I'd expect her to look like a NZT user within the overlap between those two Perks. Fully expect Taylor to kickbox someone's shit in at some point.
Of course there is also the possibility that the dog's enhancements give the dogs tremendous stamina, there is nothing on the worm wiki about them having enhanced strength, but this likely does apply
Well the shells they turn into are expendable, literally only ever being used once, so even if they don't have more stamina, which I would think that they would to some degree just by virtue of having more storage-space from taking out the resupply mechanism, they have replaceable stamina.

Didn't seem to be what they were working on though.

yeah, figuring out how much acceleration/ training time she has is a nightmare because you can really put a quantifier on Librarian and Stone Age otaku, clearly she is learning more than a regular person in the same amount of time, but it isnt a specific multiplier

then you have the question of Coils timeline split, the fact she doesn't need to sleep, that she can keep maximum concentration at 100% of the time, and that she can't forget stuff via the passage of time, and you have someone that should be able to blitz through most learning processes

and since she has the physical power of Eddie hall at superhuman speeds and infinite stamina, she can just rush the enemy at maximum energy at all time, that alone lets her win most fights because she can rush her enemies with no consideration for her own energy or getting tired

not to mention that she also accrues more battle experience than other capes, so a single battle is equivalent to multiples when it comes to experience

watching cape fights actually teaches her about how to fight way more than other people, martial arts DVDs work for her better than actual training does to some, the Art Of War would actually increase her strategical ability after a single read

like here is a 166 video playlist of martial arts dvds with thousands of hours of hand-to-hand combat teachings, against someone that is incapable of forgetting and can learn from teaching material better and cannot become bored

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJyB9gtEPfQ&list=PL_ayv7SqH1weVnELttfXds0Gstuf-tRYQ

she can watch all of this, and she will be a MUCH better fighter for it, not comparable to even a few days of sparing, but still good

that also happened in Limitless actually, learning how to perform a move you saw in a video perfectly

the fact she has this many resources and doesn't use them is kinda silly, heck she doesn't use her workshop of tinker tech, despite being able to, she doesn't even need to know how to use stuff she can use gloves of the east and the plenty mouths to just arbitrarily make them better

its kinda frustrating honestly, but i fully understand why she is like that

Well the shells they turn into are expendable, literally only ever being used once, so even if they don't have more stamina, which I would think that they would to some degree just by virtue of having more storage-space from taking out the resupply mechanism, they have replaceable stamina.

Didn't seem to be what they were working on though.

it should probably mean they can exert themselves a dozen times over, meaning they probably will never win against Taylor again because at this point fighting against Taylor for an hour straight means she can't lose to you anymore

Good question. My guess would be an assassination attempt on Renick, forcing Piggot into making Calvert her Deputy Director.

Calvert then sacrifices his mercs and his Coil body double to give the PRT an easy win, but Piggot's health takes a sudden 'unfortunate' turn for the worse, so he gets the credit and the Directorship.

You forgot already that Cauldron decided to try and kill off the entirety of the ENE leadership and Piggot only survived because of the blind spot aspect Taylor's got passing along through Armsmaster calling her about Ameoba at the perfect timing.

10 bullets, 9 bodies. Contessa job. After Piggot brought up that she felt she was being sabotaged directly to RCB.

yeah, figuring out how much acceleration/ training time she has is a nightmare because you can really put a quantifier on Librarian and Stone Age otaku, clearly she is learning more than a regular person in the same amount of time, but it isnt a specific multiplier
It would probably be better to question which things she was learning more then a regular person; the raw technical details of how to move her body are obviously going to be picked up, organized by merit, and executed like a machine, to the point that Armsmaster is probably going to get performance-envy or something, but things like strategic and tactical performance, like target-prioritization and scouting, is probably going to be learned much more slowly.

Thinking about it I'm pretty sure that that's the exact opposite of how canonical Taylor developed.
then you have the question of Coils timeline split, the fact she doesn't need to sleep, that she can keep maximum concentration at 100% of the time, and that she can't forget stuff via the passage of time, and you have someone that should be able to blitz through most learning processes

and since she has the physical power of Eddie hall at superhuman speeds and infinite stamina, she can just rush the enemy at maximum energy at all time, that alone lets her win most fights because she can rush her enemies with no consideration for her own energy or getting tired
I do not believe that Taylor has infinite stamina, though it would make sense for her to at least not produce fatigue-chemicals, nor do I believe that she is capable of operating without sleep.
not to mention that she also accrues more battle experience than other capes, so a single battle is equivalent to multiples when it comes to experience
I don't think that this deserves to be noted separately from her enhanced memory and attempt-variation detection.
watching cape fights actually teaches her about how to fight way more than other people, martial arts DVDs work for her better than actual training does to some, the Art Of War would actually increase her strategical ability after a single read

like here is a 166 video playlist of martial arts dvds with thousands of hours of hand-to-hand combat teachings, against someone that is incapable of forgetting and can learn from teaching material better and cannot become bored
I do not believe that that is the case? I would think that she would at least need to actually physically perform combat-motions to proc Stone Age Otaku, and purely strategic knowledge would surely be just as difficult to apply on a practical level as it would be for anyone.
she can watch all of this, and she will be a MUCH better fighter for it, not comparable to even a few days of sparing, but still good

that also happened in Limitless actually, learning how to perform a move you saw in a video perfectly
I should never have mentioned NZT where you could see it...
the fact she has this many resources and doesn't use them is kinda silly, heck she doesn't use her workshop of tinker tech, despite being able to, she doesn't even need to know how to use stuff she can use gloves of the east and the plenty mouths to just arbitrarily make them better

its kinda frustrating honestly, but i fully understand why she is like that
Taylor explicitly doesn't have anything in her Warehouse that could help her with creating anything; at most she has the Garage and the Habitat And Utility Base, but the former's just parts and the latter is portable.

Also she doesn't have the ability to make things arbitrarily better; she can make any given thing possess arbitrary properties of any given other thing, as long as both are small enough for a Plentimaw to swallow, but that's not the same as improving it.

yeah, this also messes up Coils plans severely as he now has to pretty much dismantle his entire power system and change gears to a new job entirely, one that will take way more of his time and is under a lot more scrutiny

Thinking about it I'm pretty sure that that's the exact opposite of how canonical Taylor developed.

nice observation, hadn't caught that up, Amoeba is also a near perfect counter to Skitter as she is immune to insects entirely

I do not believe that Taylor has infinite stamina, though it would make sense for her to at least not produce fatigue-chemicals, nor do I believe that she is capable of operating without sleep.

can't she just expel the acid from her muscles, like she is a slime, this is what they do

she doesn't even have muscles, so I'm not sure if she CAN get tired

she probably requires fewer hours of sleep then necessary too, if both the time power work she needs about 10 minutes of sleep every night

even if they don't common light may also apply here, she is technically naturally working on the chemicals in her brain, the fact its an automatic process shouldn't change that

I do not believe that that is the case? I would think that she would at least need to actually physically perform combat-motions to proc Stone Age Otaku, and purely strategic knowledge would surely be just as difficult to apply on a practical level as it would be for anyone.

she can probably do the baki shadowboxing technique

man she would be a nightmare martial artist with a humanoid stand, she trains as both herself and the stand and the stand is always faster and stronger then her

any clone abilities make her a nightmare since it multiplies her learning ability further and grants her a permanents sparing partner

Taylor explicitly doesn't have anything in her Warehouse that could help her with creating anything; at most she has the Garage and the Habitat And Utility Base, but the former's just parts and the latter is portable.

no, but she has a ton of money she doesn't spend on electronics, cars, anything of much value really

like she can still fix just about anything, construct things with the buildy gun and improve them with plenty mouth fusions and add ki to them thru gloves of the east

Also Taylor will be aishas best friend forever in this, in virtue of being the only person that can actually talk to her, Aisha will appreciate having someone she can fight with that won't accidentally shoot her if she is in the line of fire

yeah, this also messes up Coils plans severely as he now has to pretty much dismantle his entire power system and change gears to a new job entirely, one that will take way more of his time and is under a lot more scrutiny
Coil works with/for Cauldron though; there's every reason to expect that he doesn't.
nice observation, hadn't caught that up, Amoeba is also a near perfect counter to Skitter as she is immune to insects entirely
No no, the sheet battlefield-awareness of OG Skitter means that she could probably kite and bait this Taylor; it wouldn't be easy but it wouldn't be guaranteed in either direction.
can't she just expel the acid from her muscles, like she is a slime, this is what they do
Those would be the fatigue chemicals I was talking about. Even so she could still suffer from physical exhaustion the same as anything else.
she doesn't even have muscles, so I'm not sure if she CAN get tired
Physical or metaphysical anatomy, she's moving herself somehow, so even if it's more physically resilient and recoverable there's something to wear down with enough use.

Far more likely though is that she'll run out of biochemical fuel before she actually starts breaking down.
she probably requires fewer hours of sleep then necessary too, if both the time power work she needs about 10 minutes of sleep every night
One Man Industry is unlikely to proc on resting the way that Time Flies might. Apologize for making me repeat this three or four times now.

I will say though that if Time Flies does proc on sleeping then she'd get eight hours of it done in one-point-six; call that a even two to get ten hours of sleep done in.
even if they don't common light may also apply here, she is technically naturally working on the chemicals in her brain, the fact its an automatic process shouldn't change that
Might get some degree of acceleration there, but that's not the only thing brains get from sleeping; like even single-celled organisms have been observed "sleeping", so there's probably a big, complex, holistic-ass, reason for her to need more then just that.

I doubt that she could even sleep faster by building a whole other brain to replace her current one; the need for sleep could easily just be baked into people's engrams.
she can probably do the baki shadowboxing technique

Improbable; at best she could probably memorize how someone has previously fought, possibly using Stone Age Otaku to notice any flaws in reactions to the simulation, and Shadow Box that, which would be a poor imitation of Hanma Shadow Boxing.

She might be able to make a Slime slime practice-dummy that can fight back like a robot, but it probably wouldn't help too much.

She might also be able to Plentimaw some combat instruction data into a format that can be practiced against?
any clone abilities make her a nightmare since it multiplies her learning ability further and grants her a permanents sparing partner
Yeah, a self-copying ability would be ideal; she might be best served just Shadow Boxing against the memory of herself if she can do that.
no, but she has a ton of money she doesn't spend on electronics, cars, anything of much value really
Savings are a reduction of expenses, which are a reduction of income, which I don't think that Taylor has in the first place, so that doesn't help.

Yeah, but that ain't quite Tinkering just yet.
Also Taylor will be aishas best friend forever in this, in virtue of being the only person that can actually talk to her, Aisha will appreciate having someone she can fight with that won't accidentally shoot her if she is in the line of fire
There's no reason to believe that Aisha wouldn't effect Nazarickian Slimes...Wait, she's not just immune to Ontohazards; she's immune to anti-memetics; yeah, assuming that Aisha doesn't Trigger with different powers, which I actually would suggest making a part of the narrative, Taylor should be able to bypass that effect.
Whoops, miscounted on the number of rolls since last power, looks like she does get one this chapter. Also I updated the AN.
And if that wasn't enough, you'll learn anything crafting related ten times as fast, just to blow the competition out of the water even more.
...I actually don't like this one; just feels very generic.

How does one measure the "damage" of a blade anyway? *Googles* "Sharpness is determined by the edge radius at its apex."? You know what? That's actually a good answer.

Going to be interesting to see what, exactly, any created thing is going to be better at at least.

Edit: wonder if this is going to effect mundane shit, like coffee.

Edit: alright so, presumably, this wouldn't mean that, for instance, shoes would make you run ten times as fast, but it might mean that Taylor-made shoes would make you run ten times as much faster, and/or ten times as much longer, then equivalent non-Haxcalibur-made shoes would make you compared to the baseline; that they would enhance abilities ten times as much.

The question then becomes "what is the baseline that they are multiplying/adding to?", because, for instance, a bed helps you sleep, but does it help you sleep compared to sleeping on the ground or something? Because, even then, not all ground is created equal.
Also a friendly reminder that Taylor speaks in the PPG Him voice on the job
Excusez-moi?

jesus christ, imagine what happens when she makes a warhead with the anti-matter, 10x the damage

just for reference a .44 magnum would have the same energy as a .50 bmg

it also works for the acid she creates, which especially means it's way more lethal, as it corrodes 10x faster, enough where it deletes matter more then it kill them

also holy shit, she can just binge watch how its made and be able to learn even faster

man, Taylor is just absolutely refusing to take a hobby

Savings are a reduction of expenses, which are a reduction of income, which I don't think that Taylor has in the first place, so that doesn't help.

she gains the payment from the undersiders, which just double for this month to do nothing, and if she needed money she could try and make something

like she can start to ask for more money, or starts asking about a hobby to do in the long hours

Yeah, a self-copying ability would be ideal; she might be best served just Shadow Boxing against the memory of herself if she can do that.

at this point, building a training robot is probably not a bad idea

jesus christ, imagine what happens when she makes a warhead with the anti-matter, 10x the damage
Probably not that useful, given her abundant supply of it.

Just as well as well, since it's not exactly Taylor that's making that stuff.
just for reference a .44 magnum would have the same energy as a .50 bmg
I feel like you are probably forgetting the square-cube law here. Looking solely at the Joules listed for those rounds...Well you're not wrong on the higher end of guns either could be fired from, but even just barely below that you're looking at about half as much as the .50.

Edit: I wonder whether Lisa will ask Taylor to remake her palm-pistol and/or a few rounds of ammo for it.
it also works for the acid she creates, which especially means it's way more lethal, as it corrodes 10x faster, enough where it deletes matter more then it kill them
I don't think that Nazarickian Slimes actually produce acid, and instead directly corrode things, so unless she remakes her body, which isn't impossible or even probably particularly difficult, she would probably not have much luck.

Thinking about it I believe that that would also give her greater strength and speed and whatnot as well; mostly things that relied on her material composition, rather then structural elements like eyes until/unless she remade those as well.

Well, the lenses of eyes at least; her retina, or Slime-equivalent, would probably improve piecemeal.

You know, if she wanted to make vehicles, or anything from the Satisfactory tech-tree, like those Personal Storage Boxes, now would probably be the time for it; they'd probably be pretty awesome. Especially if they were modified with Taylor-made glass, or Aluminium Oxynitride, windows, and other materials for the shell and frame and whatnot, they'd probably be bullet-proof.

Also probably possible to make some hyper-effective fuel as well, since she can presumably make Hydrocarbon molecules; just got to be sure that the engine is rated for it. That and probably the tires and breaks as well. Maybe the oxygen if she really wanted to be extra.

Hell, Taylor could make APCs look like convertibles as well~ That'd be funny to rock up at a Nazi club in and Where Da White Women At at them in something like that; that'd probably be fun.

That and, of course, she could presumably make far more energetic fuels and explosives to wear and/or leave places.

Edit: man, if she ever starts making some Satisfactory infrastructure that shit's going to run fast as fuck.

Wait a second; Taylor has some RTGs and is immune to radiation; Taylor could totally Haxcalibur those things into producing a order of magnitude more power.
also holy shit, she can just binge watch how its made and be able to learn even faster
She could kind of already do that? She's been reading a lot of books.
she gains the payment from the undersiders, which just double for this month to do nothing, and if she needed money she could try and make something
Right, forgot about that.

How do you think that she's going to lay low anyway? Think that she might go underground?

Edit: thinking about it, what I should have said was "How underground do you think that she'll go?"; that'd have been better.
like she can start to ask for more money, or starts asking about a hobby to do in the long hours
Not really? The other Undersiders have their own expenses to think about.

She could probably get some of their cash by covering their expenses though; Rachel, in particular, could probably benefit enormously from Taylor Plentimaw-combining some dog-safe protean and veg, ideally dehydrated stuff, with something superabsorbent.

TBH, everyone involved could probably benefit from some ultra-concentrated soup-powder or something though...Hell, everyone uninvolved could as well come to think of it.
at this point, building a training robot is probably not a bad idea
Not a bad idea, but also probably not feasible just yet.

Okay so some comparisons for the joules of the rounds

an American 180 is matching an AK-47

a 9mm is matching a Desert Eagle

a .44 magnum is matching a .458 winchester magnum or above, enough to blow thru armsmaster armor like tissue

an AK is matching a .50cal

holy shit a grenade launcher she is a walking artillery, imagine 10x the explosive yield

if you really want to let her make a clone, or even just mental partition from fate she could create her own internal world like that one super existential episode of adventure time

Not something that she has the ability to do; even acquiring the ability would probably involve harvesting and using her Plentimaw mouths on Crusader, which I doubt that Taylor has the stomach for; even eating some of Hookwolf's metal bits and chewing it into her own slime or somethign might be too much for her.

Thinking about it though, she might be able and willing to eat his Ghosts?

Edit: to clarify, I mean that, if she ate one or more of Crusader's Ghosts with her Plentimaw mouths, Taylor would probably be able to combine them with some of her slime to make a "Ghost" of herself that was of her and made out of her slime like she was.

Thinking about it it would probably also be able to pass though inanimate objects like Crusader could, and might even be able to fly; it would probably depend on how much of that was a inherent quality of the projections and how much of it was maintained by Crusader's Shard.
But now shes 10 x faster in any learning related to crafting so shes going to get a lot better a lot faster then even before
Watching video's on the matter wouldn't make that any faster was the point I was trying to make.

Edit: does anyone have the timeline of events of this story?

Edit: I think that the funniest fucken thing about Behold Haxcalibur is that it means that Taylor can produce two-thousand-Proof alcohol.

Edit: for reference, that's one-thousand-percent pure.

Edit: y'all just fucken know that Armsmaster would be interested as hell in some Behold-Haxcalibur-enhanced fuel synthesized by Taylor; he'd just need to tweak the Carburetor or fuel-injector to use a tenth as much of it as it would other fuels, and he could carry around a tenth as much fuel as he normally would.

Similarly I bet that he'd love to get her to make some refrigerant as well; the molecules for stuff that does that seem to be relatively simple, so she should be able to do it. Especially ones engineered by Armsmaster and/or Dragon. Behold-Haxcalibur would probably make it more easily compressed and/or heat-conductive.

Some Heatsinks would also probably benefit from it. Thermal Paste also seems chemically simple enough for Taylor to make.

Some mechanical lubricant would also probably be desirable, and seems like something that Behold-Haxcalibur would be able to improve in relevant ways.

Also, obviously, Taylor could probably make some alloys relatively easily, and Behold-Haxcalibur would probably make its weight-to-strength ratios spectacular; even if she could only make something like fabricator feedstock that should still be fine, and Armsmaster might even prefer that to solid ingots or sheets of material; he'd probably prefer, or even need, to do the tempering and material-stressing and whatnot himself anyway.

Basically what I'm saying is that Taylor could probably synthesize a lot of precurser-materials and components that Tinkers could make really good use of.

Hell, she could do that with Plentimaw mouth combination already, but this is a bit different.

You know, if Taylor is still planning to make that Electrical PPE armor, it'll probably fucken rock when she does; same protection as wearing nine more sets of Chainmail over itself.

She'd do well to make some for the rest of the Undersiders, and probably her dad, while she's at it.
