The First Song
As they marched on the halfling village, the sound of skeletal feet all around her, stirred something within Idol-chan's bones beyond the nervous anticipation she always experienced before performing before a live audience. It reminded her of another place and another time, a memory that had faded with time and slumber but still resonated with her soul as strong as it did back then.
The rain was heavy as she lay there on that muddy ground, her dress was torn and stained by blood. They had just left her there, the ones who just a few days earlier had screamed her name and proclaimed their love.....the ones she had sang those songs for with all her heart....just left their Idol to die alone on the mud soaked ground.
"Hehe....some idol....couldn't even get....a single person...to stay....at the end."
Then she heard it, boots on the muddy ground....but her vision was already blurring and she couldn't make out who they belonged to. But just knowing that someone was there, that even a single person had stopped to stay by her side in these last moments warmed her head.
"You only have a few moments left."
"I...know...glad...someone...here."
"...I heard you sing, those songs were beautiful. So full of life and love."
"Thanks....gave...everything...for..them."
"And death will snatch it all away."
"...yes...would love...to sing...one...last....time....stay...listen..please."
"I....can give you that to you."
It made her smile and she forced out one last song, a new one dedicated to the figure. As the life bled out of her she sang, a ragged song filled with love for the only one who stayed with her at the end and even as it faded into a whisper and she closed her eyes one last time the Idol felt happy in a way she had never felt before. The last thing she heard was the figure's voice.
"Rest and rise soon, my beloved Idol."
Idol-chan just smiled at the memory, of the day she had met her beloved master and the creation of her first song. Maybe the person she was before might of had others but she had gladly given them all up to be with her master and now she was going to sing until their master finds them again, her love guiding Master back to them.
"Welcome halfling village!!" she sang to the halfling shield wall, "I have a special song for you today, Idol-chan's Super Kawaii Debut!!! I call this one, Chance Encounter and I dedicate it to our beloved master!!" and with that the concert began and her fans began to move.
