[X] Plan: Big Stick: Soft Words
-[X] [Military] Sector Battle Group Construction And Repair
--[X] Repair Centaur and Minotaur (0/0.5)
--[X] Repair Sphinx, Werewolf, Basilisk, And Lamenters (0/0.5)

-[X] [Other] The Macabre Diplomatic Summit.
--[X] Set up a diplomatic summit with every government worth the name in the Macabre sub-sector, proposing the military operation below and inviting buy-in and encouraging people to present a united front. Emphasize that any who join the Federation willingly will be defended to the death, while those who do not... will be viewed as potential strategic retreat points.
--[X] Encourage all governments to send their own fleets to group up with our own to allow a concentration of strength that can actually challenge the Orkish forces. Use a combination of playing them off against each other, threatening to leave them to the greenskins, and outright bribery to encourage all of the local factions to join together against this foe. We will guarantee the peace between the different factions, and come down hard on any betrayal. This is a chance for them to unite to fight back those foul greenskin invaders!
-[X] [Military] Begin Military Operations (Assign SAG/s) (Choose Location/s) (Designate Objective/s)

--[X] Sector Battle Group Minotaur (18/30 Ship Capacity)
--[X] Sector Battle Group Leviathan (30/30 Ship Capacity)
--[X] Sector Battle Group Basilisk (26/30 Ship Capacity)
--[X] Some portion of Task Force Alpha's Tauruses
--[X] Independent Operations Task Force
--[X] Evacuation Fleet (30/30 Ship Capacity)--All of it not evacuating Voxx Primus this turn, which from what I can tell should be about 3/4ths of them, or at least half.
--[X] Lamenters Chapter Fleet (30/30)
--[X] 20x Choirs with License to Sun (or anything else they think might work)
--[X] SAGs as chosen by the experts in the army as to what SAGs would be best on those Tauruses to go fight Orks.
--[X] The civilians of Piscarri's Fortress, Acroghol, and Lathysius are to be evacuated further into Macabre (but not beyond it), out of the line of fire, so that the governments can focus full might and effort into defense force stuff and basically do fortress-bulwark world stuff.
--[X] Stealth ships are to provide us accurate information, and we're to work on keeping together and evacuating as much as we can... the goal and guiding principle of whatever Admiral we should be sending is to defensively preserve our forces by heavily bleeding the Orks when they try to take territory but make a fighting retreat if it would be costly to hold ground. Offensively, try to find a moment where their forces are divided trying to conquer different places to achieve local/tactical superiority with the full might of the Federation. Choirs are to be used to blow up the largest ships that can be reasonably fucked over with The Sun, among any other uses they can think of.
--[X] Coordinate with local governments, but this mission of mercy is not one that we will allow petty local politics to impede. Be willing to hear any weird offers, Macabre is REALLY weird. For Fortress worlds... provide SAGs that military planners would deem best for holding a world against the Orks and tying down the Orkish forces. ONLY DO THIS IF THE LOCAL FORCES ACCEPT THE OFFER.
-[X] [Psykana] Conduct Two Melodies (Choose two below.) (0.8/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]
--[X] Auto-Complete Sun II

Sorry for shamelessly copying your vote Neablis, but it's a good one, all I did was replace the fortifications with repairing our fleet because Alectai's got a point.

Hopefully, we can get that done next turn alongside some fighter upgrades, maybe the MMI/Structural Integrity research + 3rd Gen Strikecraft?

On another note, we haven't upgraded our military industry since forever, maybe we should look into that while we're fighting the Orks?

Wait... that's not 9 SBGs of Orks. That's fucking 18+ SBG equivalents if that 9 signifies a multiple of the symbol (which is stronger than 2 SBGs)

Nope, I'm good with it. Anything to actually host a diplomatic summit to coordinate everybody. If our diplomatic corps is at all skilled hopefully they can pull off an integration or two from all of this as well.

[X] Plan: Greenskin-fueled Diplomacy
[X] Plan: Big Stick: Soft Words

Instead of using an action to refit our SBG's we could autobuild this destroyer to refill them:

Resurgence Mk.2-Class Torpedo Hunter
-Length - 1.600m
-Width - 400m
-Acceleration - 8 Gravities
-Armor - Thin Double Hull
-Shields - One Array
-Weapons - 2x 4x80m Torpedos/4x Light Kopesh-Pattern Missile Pods
-Equipment - Armored Prow/Tuned Shields/Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Ship Shrines/Auto-Loaders/Missile-Swarms/Macross Missile Massacres/BESH Missile Store

I think people are MASSIVELY underestimating the improved capacity we'll get by having third generation strikecraft and massively overestimating what the people of this region can come forward with.

Also, as far as it goes, @HeroCooky , how does repairing so many of our SBGs but also sending them out in the same turn even... work?

Similarly I foresee is continually not actually finishing the thing we've plowed four actions into and have only one action to complete.

E: To add, this is the fucking Space Balkans. HeroCooky actively doesn't bother describing them or their governments in any words but contempt. DO we think that a conference will actually not end with fifteen different old grudges derailing it?

..well, let's hope that I wasn't wrong and the Diplomatic Conference wasn't a great idea without which we will find ourselves in a bad way.
We'll see, but it's the Space Balkans we're talking about here so it wouldn't surprise me if we need to dedicate an action to herding the equivalent of fiercely territorial cats on meth that all hate each other.

Also @HeroCooky would Eschich also be getting another Defense Station from the Initiative? What with having one prior and being on the frontline of any future war with the Duchy.

So it seems like half an SBG each of Ork forces split off to attack the nearest two systems, probably because they were closer... considering we're going to evacuate the civilians of that system, with our naval forces there as well (duh), we're probably going to easily crush those splinters of Ork naval power because it's 1 SBG divided into two systems against, uh, 8 SBGs worth of ships?

It's the "main formation" that's the real danger.

940.M42 - Unanswered And Unheard
Two months.

Two months were all it took for the Green Tide to sweep from its initial breach of Oprhemu into the very heart of Sub-Sector Macabre, Gigachad itself, turning the planet divided into four competing power blocks into one gargantuan battlefield.

Ork Roks fell unto that world at the behest of the Big Mek Warlord Shokktoof, tellyportas of mind-boggling scale activating within orbit around the world to send Gargants, Killa Kans, Deff Dreads, and Shokk-Gits into the fight, the roaring, clanking, Zzzzapping, and hollering of the war machines and Boys drowning out the screams of the millions they slaughter within mere days.

Burna Boys spread from the Roks like a plague, hurtling over land and hills atop and within warbuggies, trukks, battlewagons, and deffkoptas as they burn their fuel with relish and mad laughter whenever they manage to incinerate either the defenders of the world or their compatriots are blown up in great bouts of flame by the same.

Kommandos turn the sewers underneath Gigachad's cities into battlefields as deadly as the forests. No person, be they soldiers, refugees, mutants, or stranger beings yet, was safe from their kunnin' brutality while Storm Boys raced ahead of the mobs of Orks running to meet their foes on roaring rokkits and plumes of fire.

It is ironic, then, that the only reason Gigachad lasts long enough for the might of the Glimmering Federations Star Force to arrive within the Sub-Sector was their divided nature. Each side had to rely on themselves, and each had created and built a military and industrial complex capable of feeding vastly oversized armies compared to other, unified planets elsewhere in the galaxy.

But they do not last long enough. Oh, they fight. They fight harder than even they thought possible, finally united under the guns of an enemy worse than any division brought by bad blood centuries old and days fresh. They fight hard enough for Big Mek Warlord Shokktoof himself to take to the field, lured from lootin' the orbitals of Gigachad by the promise of a good scrap.

But they do not last long enough.

Cities fall silent.

Bunker complexes fall silent.

Holdout units fall silent.

Hidden camps fall silent.

And the last message sent from that doomed world now broiling with hooting, hollering, fighting, and building Orks casting their eyes void-ward again after a taste of a roight propa foight is one sent by a child that managed to obtain a functioning vox-caster, believing it to be a device to talk to the God-Emperor Himself.

It is a single sentence.

"God-Emperor, deliver me from evil. I will be good, I promise. I will tidy my room, make my bed, and sleep when mommy tells me to. Please, help me!"

It would go unanswered and unheard, just like their scream of fear and pain when a gretchin found and killed them.
But their soul would not be left without comfort as an ephemeral wing stretched to guard the young soul from further harm.

"There has never been a time when wars were fought with the best equipment or technologies a military could access. But there have been times when that gap was closer than feared. Today, we will ensure such a time."
