Just Master Form 1, Makashi and Niman. And we should be able to deal with almost anything.
Vapaad should be next, if we ever want to face Palpatine in a duel. Though, we would have to convince Mace windu to teach us. We should probably get shatter point and grind our persuasion skill for that.
I'd prefer Soresu to Shii-Cho for the damage immunity and con bonuses. The last level of Shii-Cho is amazing but only works versus multiple opponents. We may not really have perfect choice in what forms we learn though- as you said, Vaapad is crazy hard to get training in.
Teras Kasi has a lot of synergy with Soresu because of the con calculation adjustment and the high physical attribute bonuses.

Yeah, but that's because Niman was the default style for the Jedi order. Most probably just trained it to passable (IE ranks 1 or 2) and left to do what they actually wanted to do in the order.
Thus, though they trained in Niman, they usually weren't holding a candle to the ones who actually heavily trained in their styles.
High rank/master niman users, however, are terrifying. Especially with Jar'kai. There's a reason Exar Kun is considered one of the (if not the) most dangerous lightsaber fighters period.

THE PHANTOM MENACE: CHAPTER 2
"But its important you get to Coruscant as soon as possible, right?" You asked with trepidation. You could feel the anxiousness coming off of Padme in waves. She wanted, no... -needed- to get to Coruscant sooner rather than later. It was a lot of money, but you just couldn't leave these people to wait.
"That's right, Anakin, but it doesn't seem to be any other way," Qui-gon offered you an encouraging smile. You shook your head.
"There is! I 've got enough in savings to purchase the parts you need. I can give it to you!"
"Anakin," Cliegg looked at you in bewilderment. He knew how much owning your own ship one day meant to you. He looked ready to protest but you said,

"Dad, I got that money gambling. You said yourself that no good could come of money gained that way. Let's use it for something good!"
Cliegg chuckled and shook his head. He looked at Qui-gon,
"Looks like Anakin has made up his mind. We will travel with you to Watto's tomorrow and buy the parts you need."
Qui-gon's face displayed astonishment, but after a moment he simply shook his head and chuckled similarly to how Cliegg had. The Jedi looked at you and offered a warm smile,
"Thank you, Anakin. Your generosity is a rare gift in the galaxy. If I can ever repay your kindness, I will."
"It's no problem!" You smiled. You were happy to help. The look of admiration from Padme was enough repayment in your mind. The girl offered you a glowing smile,
"Truly, Anakin, I promise to repay this debt."
You shifted in your seat uncomfortably. You were just doing the right thing. You nodded at her bashfully. A soft redness tinged your cheeks. The rest of the dinner passed uneventfully aside from Jar-Jar's poor table manners. Your mother showed Padme and Jar-Jar to the guest rooms while Owen and yourself did the dishes. Your step-father and Qui-gon had stepped outside to discuss some things. You glanced at Owen who wore a sly smile on his face.
"Somebody's got a crush."
"Shut up, Owen," your cheeks grew red in embarrasment. Your brother seemed to take glee in your response,
"Oh, I'll just give you enough gold for a Toydarian dowry, but I don't care or anything," Owen snickered. You frowned and felt your temper flare slightly. Normally, you would have taken this moment to walk outside and blow off some steam on the training post, but considering there were still several dishes you merely said,
"Shut up, or I'll tell Beru about that dream you had the other night."
"You wouldn't!" Owen's eyes grew large in fear. Your anger faded. He might be a jerk sometimes, but he was your brother. You smirked,
"Gotcha."
"Nerf-herder."
"Bantha poo-doo."
"Anakin," the voice of Cliegg broke you from your bickering. You glanced over and frowned. Worry etched your step-father's face.
"Yes, Sir?"
"Could you come out here for a moment? Qui-gon would like to check something."
You glanced at Owen and the two of you shared a look before you followed Cliegg outside. Qui-gon leaned against the sandstone balcony. The night was clear this evening and you could see the hundreds of stars that covered the expanse. The Jedi gave you a warm smile and spoke simply,
"I spoke truly when I said I had rarely seen such generosity, but there is something else I would like to confirm; but to do so, I need a sample of your blood. May I?"
You looked at your step-father and the worry oozed off of him, but he nodded at you in permission. You tilted your head at Qui-gon, but figured if Cliegg was okay with it, you would be too. You stuck out your arm and Qui-gon gently placed a device against your arm. A sharp prick caused you to flinch and you jerked back.
"Ouch!"
"All done," Qui-gon smiled. You looked at him curiously,
"So what exactly do you need my blood for?"
"I need to check a few things first, but I'll let you know tomorrow."
You frowned. This whole thing was a bit odd, but you nodded and left. You trusted your step-father and Qui-gon.
You lay in bed that night, your eyes staring at the ceiling. You glanced at the holocrons on the desk beside your bed. You knew you should start another lesson with Sidrona soon, but the thought of working with the hologram when there was an actual live Jedi sleeping in your home felt stale. You frowned. The feeling of change hung heavy in the air, but you could not place it. You knew it centered around the Jedi and Padme, but could not figure it out. With a groan you pulled yourself out of bed.
You were anxious and restless. Sleep would not come easy tonight and so you made your way outside to the courtyard. The cold tatooine night chilled you, but there was something soothing about it all the same. You would practice your Teras Kasi forms. That always tired you out. You stopped at the entrance to the courtyard. Padme sat upon the steps which lead up to the second story of the moisture farm. She hadn't noticed you, but you could sense the pain that exuded from her body.
You approached somewhat cautiously, but with enough noise that she looked up and saw you. Tears stained her cheeks. She wiped her eyes and revealed a smile that you knew was fake. You weren't certain if you had hated any smile at that moment as much as the fake one upon her face. She spoke first,
"What are you doing up so late, Anakin?"
"I could ask the same thing," you offered dryly, but not without a smile. You motioned towards the stairs, "May I sit?"
The girl nodded and scooted to the side so you could sit beside her. Silence hung in the air. You really weren't certain what to say to a hurting girl. You imagined it must have something to do with her home planet and the suffering occuring there. You wished you could do more to help. You asked,
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Not really, but thank you for asking," Padme offered with a soft voice. It hurt you to see her in such pain, but you didn't know why. You wished you could help her somehow, but nothing came to mind. And so the two of you simply sat together in silence. It was not awkward, but simply comfortable. After some time had passed Padme stood and looked at you with a real smile upon her face,
"Thank you, Anakin."
"For what?" You asked in confusion.
"For caring," she smiled, "I'll see you tomorrow."
The girl turned and ran back inside. You felt a frustration and happiness inside of you that you could not describe; finally, you just shook your head and decided,
"Girls are weird." The following morning found your muscles burning as you remained rooted in the basic Teras Kasi stance. Master Zan would do this at times to develop a foundation she said. Leave you standing for minutes in a single posture. You personally thought she took a sadistic glee in seeing your pain. Master Zan appeared to be in a particularly foul mood this morning. A sneer had crossed her face upon seeing Qui-Gon and had barely refrained from a disrespectful tone when speaking to him. It was apparent her distaste when the Jedi had requested to observe your training for the morning, but she had not denied it. It was only yourself, Owen, Qui-Gon, and Zan this morning. Jar-Jar had apparently decided to sleep in and Padme had decided to help your mother with some of the morning chores.
"Enough!" She rang out, "It is time for a Spar."
You glanced at Owen and smiled. Both of you loved your sparring matches. This would be your first opportunity to display before a crowd however. The two of you took your places across from each other and Master Zan slowly looked at each of you, "Do you best. Begin!"

You sized up Owen. You were more lithe and a tad taller than your younger brother, but Owen came from a stocky breed. He had always been stronger and hardier than you; typically, he had a higher endurance and his primary method of winning involved waiting for you to get tired. Your fights were usually evenly matched if you could get the first punch in.
You moved quickly, taking the initiative. Owen did not appear ready for your attack and your kick caught him firmly in the chest. Your little brother let out an "oomph," but quickly grabbed hold of your ankle. You had not snapped your kick quickly enough and now found yourself in your brother's grip. Owen pushed on your leg and you fell backwards. You rolled as you had been taught and moved forward, staying on the offensive, with a jab to Owen's face. Your younger brother managed to dodge the strike and countered with a solid hook to your jaw.
You saw stars and pain ached throughout your head. You reflexively lashed out with your leg and were rewarded with the feeling of connecting with Owen's stomach. Your brother let out another pained grunt, but did not let that phase him. The young boy came at you again and this time his jab knocked you to the ground. You were about to stand and make a counterattack, but with shame the words rang out,
"Match, Owen."
The sound of Master Zan's stick tapping against the sandstone courtyard rangout and you sat up with bleary eyes. Master Zan glanced at Qui-Gon and spoke with poorly veiled disdain,
"Master Jedi, would you take young Owen to get cleaned up; I'll take care of Anakin."
"Of course, Master Zan; I would be happy too," Qui-Gon's words were neutral and no expression except warmth lay upon his face as he turned towards Owen. The two left the courtyard to head to the kitchen. You looked at Master Zan and a frown fixed on your face. You hated losing. Master Zan said losing taught humility. Humility felt crappy.
"So, tell me young one, how do you feel about your loss to Owen?"

Master Zan nodded and bent down to check your scrapes. A short woman, she did not have to bend far. The woman spoke solemnly,
"Today was my last lesson to you both, young Anakin; for next week, I return to my home, Bunduki. I have been away too long."
Your eyes widened in surprise. Master Zan had become a fixture of your life over the past two years. To hear that she would soon leave was saddening. The old woman offered a rare smile.
"Fret not, child; life goes on," here she paused and her face turned serious, "Anakin, despite your loss to Owen today, I can tell that you possess immense potential in the Art. I...would like to offer you to join me. The Followers of Palawa always look for new members who show talent. You would be provided with a place to stay and training. In ten years, you could be a Master yourself and free to travel wherever you wish in the galaxy."
If your eyes could have gotten any larger they would have. Here was an opportunity to leave Tatooine! You were about to speak, but Master Zan shushed you,
"Think on it, young one. I do not require an answer for another few days at least. Speak on it, with your family."
You nodded. This was...unexpected.

If the morning had been unexpected, that evening proved even more. Qui-Gon and Cliegg had arrived with the parts from Watto's shop. The Jedi and the people from Naboo would be leaving the following morning. You entered the living room after dinner and were surprised to see your mother and Cliegg sitting alone with Qui-Gon. The Jedi Master smiled at you, but the look on your parent's faces worried you. Your mother looked as though she had seen a ghost and your step-father had a flint hard look upon his face.
"Come, sit down Anakin," Your mom patted at the place on the couch beside her. You did and glanced at Qui-Gon,
"What's going on, Mom?" You asked nervously.
Your mother and Cliegg shared a look and something passed between them before your Mom spoke,
"Qui-Gon has informed us...that you are a candidate for Jedi training. He would like you to travel with him to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to be tested."
"Are you for real?" you about jumped out of your seat and looked at Qui-Gon with excitement. To become a Jedi Knight had been your dream for years it felt! The Jedi chuckled and spoke soothingly,
"I am quite for real Anakin. The Jedi are very strict about who they accept, but I feel you would make an excellent candidate," here he paused before continuing in a more serious tone, "It's a hard life, Anakin, and I cannot guarantee you would ever come home to Tatooine again; however, rarely have I met someone with such a strong presence in the Force or such an altruistic character. You would do well as a Jedi."
You looked at your mother and asked,
"What should I do, mom?"
Shmi smiled at you sadly, "This choice is yours and yours alone, Anakin. I cannot make it for you."
You frowned. Nothing was ever easy it seemed. You looked at Qui-gon and asked,
"Can I think about it?"
"I would offer more time if I could, Anakin, but I would need your decision by tomorrow morning at the earliest."
You nodded.
"Let me think on it then and I'll let you know tomorrow morning."
"That is all I can ask," Qui-Gon smiled and left the room.
The conversation after had been short. Your mother and step-father had truly meant it would be your decision. Aside from saying how much they loved you and would miss you, they said that nothing you did would affect their love for you.
Sleep did not come easily that night. And then came the dream:
A seed sprouted beneath the dirt. Pushed through. Bloomed. Died. Fed the Bantha.

[] [Story] Write-in: Go with Qui-Gon and join the Jedi. Tell Master Zan about the offer to study at the Jedi academy. Say that it was a dream of ours to become a Knight, but that training under her has been an honor. Ask if, upon passing the Trials, we could come study under her once more. If she says yes, ask her if there's a means to contact her on her home planet and if she has any independent study materials we could use while at the Academy. If she says no, express our regret.

Welp. Y'all dodged a bullet with that vote, but here is the reasoning for not allowing a write-in on that previous vote.
Primarily it is because I needed to at least give you a reason to be greedy otherwise the choice carried meaning. Why did that choice need to carry meaning?
Well, had you voted to not give money. Rolls would have occurred. Taking longer meant Darth Maul would have arrived on planet. He would have tracked the Jedi to your family and it would have ultimately ended up with votes/rolls (do you agree to help Maul find the Naboo ship? Vote No and he kills a family member until you do or rolls send a rescuer) determining whether your family lived/died/ or was tortured.
Then battle of the fates between Kenobi, Jinn, and Maul on tatooine. Winner takes all. Had Maul won, you would be on your way to Sidious. Anyways. That's what would have happened.
Agreed, joining the Jedi order at this point locks us in to future events that don't really provide a lot of freedom. Going with the followers of Palawa provides more options and freedom to do what ever we want later on.
You will have the option to leave them on Tatooine, take them with you and either Hide/reveal them. You can also choose to bring one and leave the other. I'll provide feasible options.
I would actually advocate for the angry option. He needs to learn to deal with his anger NOW, before he gets angry about something more serious. Kids getting angry is standard when they lose. Learning to deal with that is important.
While I would like to ditch the Jedi, it is a big risk and most likely remove any path to power. Coruscant is the seat of power in the galaxy. So if we go to Palawa, we are going to be a traveling monk, and not a political player. While this isn't absolute, it does make a HUGE difference. Also Anakin saved Naboo from the Trade Federation. If he isn't there, the Gungans will get wiped out......LET'S GO TO PALAWA!
