Star Wars: The Chosen One (An Anakin Skywalker Quest)

[] [Class] Dual Class (-10CP): Guardian/Consular

Guardian/Sentinel (Warrior/Rogue build): Melee Focused with Non-Combat skills. Force progression will suffer.

Sentinel/Consular (Rogue/Mage): Force Focused with (Better) Non-Combat skills. Physical Stats/Melee will suffer.

Guardian/Consular (Warrior/Mage): Skilled at both Melee Combat and Force Powers, bonuses to all Stats. Skills will suffer, but will be offset with bonuses to stats.

Based on that, I'm picking Guardian/Consular.

What he said.

Ahs thank you fro reminding me. Sage needed to be updated. It only gives one of the Force perks for free and that at highest level.
In that case, I'm much less inclined to pick 'Sage' as our first advanced class -- we'd need to purchase 2/3 of the 'One with the Force' perk tree on our own anyway, so buying all three isn't that big a leap. That being the case, 'Weaponmaster' seems to be a pretty good candidate for our first advanced class, so I wouldn't mind going Sentinel/Consular.

Right now I'm wondering why some folks are so down on Sentinel class. It's generalist class, with specific bonuses to all skills. Given our position outside the Jedi Temple, and the fact that there are a lot of skills we could learn, this seems like an easy pick-up. The Force is the biggest and most obvious facet of the Star Wars universe, but we're talking about a futuristic sci-fi universe with advanced biotech, artificial intelligence, and all kinds of other technical fields that we could develop. We should leave that door open for us to explore later.

Quick question. Does this account for forms that are not unlocked yet? Say we take a class that doesn't unlock the form. If we get to level 5 in Niman will we unlock forms we haven't unlocked yet and gain level 2 in them?
You will.

Edit. My bad. Read that wrong. You will have them jump immediately to level 2 when that style is unlocked.

And if we have combat prodigy, we instantly get level three.

Fuck it. Guardian/Consular is the way to go.

Technically speaking, with an extra CP from an omake or something we could just straight-unlock the I am the Force tree in one go.

I believe the perk is now gated behind achieving the pinnacle of the Dark Side and Light side alignment wise. We got to dive deep into the DS and then into the LS to unlock them I think.

Sentinel gives us a +2 to all skills.

Actually it comes out to +6 as they give +2 three times.

Precautions- By Atri
For the first time in months I had the time, energy and inspiration to write. Here's the OMAKE, inspired by the side story of Dock's and Yoda's conversation.

Precautions

Yoda took a little sip from the teacup, enjoying the strong bitter taste. It reminded him of all the times he had sat here with his padawan, enjoying the simple things in life while arguing over this or that. Ah…Yan Dooku had always had that character, arguing sometimes just for the sake of arguing. That stubbornness had continued in his line, with Qui-Gon. He, too, was now gone. As was Obi-Wan. Oh, how bright that spark in the Force had been! How promising a padawan! He would have been one of the greatest of the Order, no doubt. None of his line now remained in the Order. The last, Yan, was now lost too, taking the bright spark of the boy Anakin with him. Shadowed the future of that one was. Shadowed and uncertain.

Much was uncertain now. The words of warning resonated once more in his mind. Whether they were true or not, whether that Sith had told Yan what he had wanted to hear or not, Yoda could not ignore the possibility that the Sith were on Coruscant. The Force was shrouded and silent on the matter, but he had lived long enough to know that the coming years would not be ones of peace and quiet. The Sith had returned and with that changes would have to be made to the Jedi.

The doorbell rang and the door then opened.

"Master Nu," he greeted his guest, "thankful am I, that time you found to come."

"Of course, Master Yoda," the other councillor bowed in reverence.

Yocasta Nu had been a passionate child, full of vigor and curiosity. With time, wisdom and knowledge had come to her. She was one of the pillars of the Order, as firmly a Jedi as any he had had the pleasure of teaching. A friend.

"Sit! Sit! Drink, you will. Good it will do you."

Master Nu nodded, sitting down gracefully before shifting slightly to find a more comfortable position. It saddened Yoda. His friend was growing old. There were not that many years yet left to her. Humans were such a short-lived species. He had seen many of them join the Force, depriving him of their company and venturing forth to an adventure he had yet to embark upon. Sometimes, many times, he thought that the long life of his people was much too long. Yoda was growing tired, and the situation that the galaxy found itself in wasn't helping matters.

For a long time they sat silently, drinking their tea. Patience had come with age. Perhaps, inaction had too.

He would rectify that.

"Called you, I have, for special task, I did. Know, you do, that Dooku no longer Jedi, he is."

"It saddens me, Master Yoda." Master Nu put her teacup down, her features turning grave. "To lose Yan Dooku too so soon after Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan…it is a great blow to the Order."

"True, that is. Uncertain his future is, as is the boy's taken he has as a padawan. But not here, we are, to speak of Yan Dooku. Warned me, he has, of danger to Jedi on Coruscant. Know, I do not, whether true it is. But ignore it, I cannot."

"Danger, Master Yoda?"

"Many years Jedi Temple has stood strong. Many years, beacon of light it has been. Tempting target, it is. Know, you do, that not always safe it has been."

"The Sacking of Coruscant."

"Before my time, it was, but know of it, I do well. Told of it, by grandpadawans of those that defended the Temple, it was in my youth. Great, the awareness then was. Not invincible here, we felt. Changed that has. But risen the Sith have. Dangerous times, these are. Precautions take, I must."

"How can I help, Master?"

"Gather most trusted, most firmly standing in the Light, you will. Gather secretly them, you must. Copy the archives, you will."

"The entirety of the archives? But Master, that will take years! Surely, you think the threat isn't that great! A second Sacking?"

"Small, the chance may be. Small but possible. Many things possible are now. The Force, clouded it is. The future, uncertain it is." Yoda turned his head towards the window, seeing all the Jedi walking in the Courtyard, feeling all his brethren shining brightly in the Force. He didn't want to think that it would someday change. But he had to take precautions. "Prepare, we must. Also, bring me, you will list of obscure planets, strong in the Force, you will. Much seen, you have, during time in Exploration Corps. Choose one, we will. Then, remove it from the archives, we will. Build, we must, hidden enclave. Self-sufficient, it must be. Promising younglings, send you will to the Jedi Service Corps. Disappear, they will, after that to the enclave. Trusted Jedi in the Light take them as padawans, they will. Hidden, this temple and branch of the Order will be. Hidden, like Sith were. The Jedi secure, I will. Legacy mine, this will be."

"A shadow order," Master Nu murmured after a while. "Have we fallen so far?"

"Fallen," Yoda said sternly, "we have not. Fall, we will not. Survive, the Jedi will. Thrive, the Jedi will. Prepare, we all must, for difficult times."

And prepare they shall.

Sentinel's greatest strength is it generalist approach, balancing between physical combat (Guardian) & force powers (Consular) with an side order if Skills bonuses. As a single class it great if you want a balance and versatile build.

With the option to Gestalt (Take two classes at the same time), Sentinel loses alot of it advantags over the other options. Guardian/Consular is basically Sentinel without the bump to skills, which is offset by the bump to all Stats.

Would that stack with the combat prodigy perk to boost newly acquired saber styles to level 3?

Basically, choosing Guardian+ Combat prodigy gives you Level 1 in all styles (aside from Juyo/Vaapad) and 1 of 2 trainings for level 2 in all styles (but juyo vaapad). Because of Dooku's training, You instantly jump to Level 2 in Makashi and have 1of 3 Trainings for Makashi level 3.

Hm... Personaly i'm more for sentinel/Counsular, it give us bonus in all stats and we can always increase our capicies in fight in another manners.

Taking a look at the level progression leads me to believe that Qui-gon was a massive scrub. Level 38 with those stats? As a Jedi Master? @Arthellion Also what would it take to take the occupation Jedi Master?

+1 CP and Canon.

You've given me so many plot bunnies.

Taking a look at the level progression leads me to believe that Qui-gon was a massive scrub. Level 38 with those stats? As a Jedi Master? @Arthellion Also what would it take to take the occupation Jedi Master?

Qui-Gon's CS was definitely during Version 1 of a lot of things. The system is much different now. :p

Actually it comes out to +6 as they give +2 three times.
Whoops, I forgot about that change despite applauding it a lot at the time. Heh.

I'm too jaded by the munchkin-ing! :V Would still have been hilarious though.

I'm happy to have helped. And happy it's canon! Always wondered why the Jedi never took any extra measures to safeguard their survival. :D
They never took the Sith threat seriously and then the Clone Wars happened and there was no time. The omake is nice, but Sidious always has his paws in everything. My worry is that the location will only be so secret from him. Tracking funding, ships, and everything else to see where the Jedi are hiding out.

[] [Class] Dual Class (-10CP): Sentinel/Consular

Were going diplo already might as well as keep it up.

Don't underestimate Yoda once he's taken something seriously. ;)

Right now I'm fine with either Guardian/Consular or Sentinel/Consular, leaning more towards G/C right now tbh. The physical bonus that Guardian gives is nice as well as unlocking basically all the saber styles.

I'm a big supporter of straight Guardian. I like to roleplay here, and the Anakin we've made is not a diplomat by any means. He's persuasive, he's charismatic, but at his core he's a fighter. I'm not against doubling up with Sentinel or Consular, but in general it seems to me that Anakin would head straight for Guardian. A little off topic, but it bothers me the way that people have begun drawing delineations between Lightsaber duelling and "the Force." Properly, all Lightsaber duels are predicated on the force. The most skilled duelists were often those who could improve their bodies, and work within the will of the force. The Force really draws a lot from Zen Buddhism, and in Zen Philosophy, the blade was one of the better ways to meditate. It makes sense too, when I'm wrestling for example, I don't think of anything but what's happening at that precise moment, the universe kind of collapses into an intense focus. I'd personally love to see the Jedi Guardian presented as just as force inclined as the other classes. Properly I'd actually say Sentinels should be the least attuned, as they rely far more on technical skills than do Guardians or Consulars.

[] [Class] Dual Class (-10CP): Sentinel/Consular

Leaning towards Sentinel/Consular, but the Guardian/Consular is nice and I'm currently undecided. Maybe if we had a droid, who could specialize in the some of skills we would've otherwise need to have had I'd be more inclined to the Guardian/Consular.

i like sentinel because the mental AC bonus seems even more important after Sidious ravaged Maul's mind. I like consular because, as people have noted, it helps our diplomancer build. And also because magic is fun.

Don't underestimate Yoda once he's taken something seriously. ;)

Yoda was meh. For all his vaunted power he wasn't a powerhouse. He was born in a time of peace and lived through times of peace. No mega-wars between Jedi and Sith. Also the Temple has techs, janitors, and other normal people. I have no doubt that the movements of the Jedi are reported to higher ups. My guess is that Sidious will easily discover where they plan to hide and then let the Jedi all run there. Once there he would just level the surface of the planet and interdict and ships attempting to escape. A trap within a trap.

Really the only way to beat a Master Sith is to surprise them. To do something outside their expectations and not give them time to react. Even then..../shrugs.
