1-2 is fine for combat. We want more in case of story options or perks. 3-5 is the right amount for an emergency reserve for both combat and story choices.
This is a good question. I wouldn't expect Maul, he is probably long gone by now. I think it is likely going to be a droid, maybe one that was left over from the invasion and somehow survived???

I agree, as much as it is traditional for Skywalkers to lose limbs it's a bit early, and macabre, for a ten year old to be so disfigured. Let him at least grow up enough that he won't need to change the limbs every year or two!
Actually, now that I think about it a little more I find it more likely that it is an assassin or bounty hunter that is trying to kill Padme. So, some mercenary attempts to kill Padme and we intervene. I think that may be more likely than a droid.

I was under the impression that we only spent CP during level ups or for special choices (like Masters). In which case we should be fine. Most of our level ups seem to grant us 6+ CP from events, discussion, and choices, as well as omakes. That is more than enough to buy a stat point per level and take 3 story perks if we absolutely must, so the chances of missing out on something important will be minimal. Level ups will be getting rarer but also more lucrative, so keeping a larger reserve of CP becomes more and more problematic. If you want to save for perks, that's why I proposed the Layaway option to the GM so that we can do that.
Now, if the GM decides that we will have unpredictable options to spend perk points between levels for important things that's another thing altogether. But so far, iirc, we have not.

CP can be spent on perks and personal things during level up, but certain story choices like going with Dooku, use CP as part of the story. Then there is the fact that perks are added/changed, which means it is good to have a bit on hand in case we want something as well, like the Force and Saber prodigy perks. We might not need the extra CP, but I would rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
Master Zan used to have an expression, move the body move the mind. Space and time had passed since Anakin had last heard her words. But now in this morning, they came rushing back to him. He was on Naboo. The world where Obiwan and Qui Gon had passed away, killed by the Sith. Surely that is where their Journey ended? But where had it begun?
This question seem to nag at the back of Anakin's consciousness. Festering there like some infectious pustule of smelly pus. He knew from what Siri said- Emotional wounds stink too, like when you hold on to anger or pain until it starts to fester and explodes. That didn't mean such things couldn't be channeled in some way. Accepted- but not heedlessly discarded into the force if they were used as an impetus in some way.
Peeking his head outside the Chambers he and Dooku had been given. He looked up and down the palace's long hallway. Simply staring at the scattered banners which lined the various alcoves of the structure. Every few alcoves where the corridors intersected with each other stood one of the several guards. Sometimes they stood in pairs, other times in singular solace as they went about their guard duties.
With a Keen Eye to detail the young force user tried to discern varying details of the closest four. Two were Young, barely looking with baby faces as if they had had seen combat. One with older man with greying hair at his temples and a salty beard. The last was a middle aged female with a wicked scar stretching from her left eye- over her nose and down her right cheek.
It was the latter two he approached.
"Hello, I apologize for the interruption of your duties Guardsmen but I had a question or two that I thought you might be of some use answering."
The two looked to each other then at Anakin's jedi Initiate's robes.
The older gentleman cleared his throat, "Yes how can we help you Youngling?
"Were you present at the Battle of Theed?"
One's jaw tensed for a moment, giving each other another glance. For a moment he was sure they were speaking silently with a familiarity only long acquaintances possessed. It was the woman who spoke next. "Yes. We both were. We don't like to talk about it though."
"I See." Anakin nodded his head politely to her. "I apologize for any uneasiness my questions might bring. I knew two jedi who were participants of that battle and had a thought. We know how and where they died but I thought to retrace their steps before then. To see where they had first been sighted. I thought to find some veterans who might point me in the right direction of where they had first been sighted. So I and my Master might begin my search."
The greybeard nodded curtly. "The first report of their interventions was on the outskirts of the city closeby the riverways. In the Gardens of Theed. It was where the Trade Federation landed hundreds of troops and battledroids as well as army supplies like frag mines and repulsor tanks as the two Jedi made their way to the palace to help the queen's first departure. This place is all of the old town make with many alleys capable of being turned into sluiceways and water canals via gate switches. Add in various levels of overgrown water levels and it's a literal quagmire. Much of the area is still off limits due to the difficulties of making the place safe. Even now there are some salvage teams with issues trying to ferret out all the occupying forces mines and leftover surprises. The second time they arrived in the city was at the river in a Bongo, then they took a passage to the palace."
"I think it best probably to be thorough- at least chronologically speaking. What are the water gardens like to those trying to clean up the place?"
"A mess. The water pools are where some of the worst detritus of the war wound up. Anything from shot down Single Trooper Aerial Platforms, or Multi-Troop Transports and at least one or two crashing Royal N-1 starfighters from that disastrous attack on the Trade Federation Droid Control Ship."
The scar faced one chimed in at this point. "The Royal Naboo Security Forces tried to use some Royal Naboo PKN-49 model labor droid to help try and clean up the place but its priority was downgraded to favor more damaged parts of the city. Right now you wouldn't find more then a patrol or two each day keeping out foolhardy salvagers. Especially after we lost some Gungan volunteers to help clear the underwater portions. I could radio a Champion from the hangar to take you to the nearest patrol if you feel you can handle it."
Anakin pressed his lips together to moisten them and tried to calm his thoughts. There was a nagging feeling about the force as he considered the Gardens. Like a hook with a line pulling at his guts. "Sure, let me tell my Master and I'll be right down."
Venturing back into his quarters Anakin wrote a note using his datapad, summarizing the information he had gained. Then he closed his eyes and concentrated upon the force Bond he had with his new master. He sent just a feeling at first, then a small sense of curiosity and urgency just moments before pulling out his comlink to toggle it on. "Master Dooku, I have gained some information about the path Obi wan and Qui Gon walked upon this world when they reached the city of Theed. The first time they made their way to the water gardens , and the second time they used a passage of sorts from the river. Most of the old battlefields inside the city have been cordoned off for rebuilding but the Water Gardens seem to - due to the terrain have the most Trade Federation material remaining. Perhaps some data is there within their hills that might provide a link to any connection the Sith that killed Obi wan and the means they tracked them. "
"So you wish to hunt for physical evidence instead of thinking it was just a matter if the Sith tracking Qui Gon and Obi wan through the force?"
"I wish to attempt some recovery of things so we might begin ruling things out. One of the palace guards says a starfighter or two might have crashed down there. Something in my gut says there might be something important. Like a whisper in the force."
"I see. Proceed then, but be back in three hours. That should give you enough time to complete the days tasks. Be wary, I already warned you I sensed a dark presence on Naboo. I will track down one of my own leads and come check up on you in two hours. May the Force be with you Padawan."
"Yes Master. Lars Out."
He made his way back to the pair of older guards and in a few minutes he was speeding away in the back of a Guardian class airspeeder which after a ten minute journey quickly deposited him on the edge of the Gardens of Theed.
This section of the city showed signs of the war, holes in the tops of buildings and scorch marks along the permacrete walls of the few houses nestled among the water gardens and flora long since overgrown the old town district.
He was quickly made the acquaintance of a Lt. Frela, and a Private Derpa of the NRSF. A quick discussion netted him a rebreather in case he fell in the water. The Private warned him saying to beware the fish who got large enough in the larger pools to take a bite out of a grown man.
Anakin smirked at that.
He had learned his lesson early, there was always a bigger fish.
The first twenty minutes netted him his first challenge when he was forced to take the high road, force jumping from pillar to pillar in an area marked with red flags till he came to the top of one column he could sit upon.
The red flags being a sign of mines.
Unfortunately, bordering the side of the minefields was a line of stacked crates leading to an overturned Federation repulsor tank that looked as if it had been carved open by a lightsaber and its turret bent at an odd angle. The entrance hatch was upside down and he could probably only get to it by standing on the sand covered permacrete- even if he could hop along the crates and crawl over the wreckage.
So that meant one thing… he had to clear the mines.
But how?
Perhaps… he had once had trouble lifting one of those rocks… but what if he didn't try to brute force this? What if Anakin used the force like a gentle wind to clear the topsoil and dried mud to uncover them. Then he could use the force to lever the mines from where they were and set them against a distant wall.
He didn't know how to defuse such things yet… but maybe he didn't have to if he threw one mine at the knotted cluster.
With a game plan conceived, the young Padawan began to center himself atop the pillar, stretching his senses out as he began to use the principles of pushing something with the force in a more … deceivingly gentle way. He didn't hoist things that were heavy or like rocks but began to try and move the air itself. Swishing it back and forth as he tried to create a pattern of concentric flow.
At first, barely even a gust that would stir dust motes suspended by the sun would stir- but soon as his ministrations gained momentum the soil began to blow around in the breeze, starting at one side of the enclosure traversing its way to the other.
In its wake, brambles of dead plants and soil began to be brushed off the ensuing hazards beneath until the mines laid bare to the naked eye.
Anakin wiped a bead of sweat from his brow and took a cool swig of water from the drinking bulb at his belt. Then, ponderously one by one he slowly used the force to pluck each mine from its resting spot like a poisonous tuber until the last of the flags and the devices themselves were stacked in one corner, far away from where he sat upon the pillar's top. Then closing his eyes he raised the last mine up above and force slammed it down into the rest of the explosives.
Old as the devices were… the expected explosion came flashing even the back of his eyelids white as a fireball rose into the Theed's sky line.
"Hey you okay in there?"
He looked at his comlink, then depressed it after recognizing Lt. Frela's voice. "Yeah, just used the force to clear a field of mines in a courtyard by an overturned tank and a bunch of federation cargo containers. Couldn't figure out a way to disarm from afar so I detonated them. The entire dimensions of the courtyard are clear, but I can't really say anything about the approach as I have been hopping pillars."
"Damn, that's one of the places we couldn't much get to. First teams who tried were blown sky high. The approach however was cleared. You should be about halfway to a downed MAAT , and just beyond that is a large pool where one of our starfighters went down. We couldn't even recover the pilot's corpse."
"Roger. I am going to enter the tank now."
"Be careful. Most of the Oom droids shut down, but any yellow shouldered ones , command droids might reactivate. There may not be one in the tanks, bust certainly better odds in that downed landing ships."
"Thanks for the heads up, Anakin Out."
Relatively calm, he used the force to check his landing site before leaping down to the ground in front of the hatch. Taking our his datapad he hooked it up to the watch's panel and did a check for any internal power.
He was in luck, as a quick slice later brought the hatch swinging open. Inside he noticed the telltale remains of three intact OOM droids and a small datacore access point for the repulsive tanks onboard computers. Much like any hardy technology the power cells seemed to have enough juice for accessing the memory.
Another port connection to his datapad and a quick download and he was rewarded to a camera feed before the tank found itself in its predicament.
It was a battlefield holo from the tank's outer pickup. The young man smiled,at the sight of a blur of motion accompanied by the telltale movements of a Jedi Master carving into the vehicle after jumping upon its top. He paused the feed for a minute to give a nod to the displayed image of Qui Gin and dowloaded the rest of the data he could get to the tank.
Then he flipped his com open. "Hey Lt. Flera? Can I ask you take some of this salvage back to my quarters? I've got three OOM droids, mostly intact and with their armament. No yellow shoulders that I see though."
"Erg.This is Derpa, Hold on while I get the LT. Hey, LT I can't believe this kid actually did it." There was the sounds of a brief mumble of conversation between the pair and a smacking sound before Flera's voice came back on the line
" Copy Padawan. We acknowledge salcage rights to you. I'm bringing a PKN 49 to the site, I'll send it in. ETA, two minutes."
"Roger, Roger."
"Uhm... Kid. Don't say that, the Oom's said that. I think you almost gave me a heart attack."
"Roger, Roger!"
A twinge in the force made Anakin hurl himself backwards just in time for a broken limb to have punched the durasteel hull where his head had been a moment before.
His head spun with the whiplash as he noted the skull like frame of another OOM droid staring at him half exhumed from its place in the overturned wreckage. Just a torso, an arm, and a head. Its photoreceptor's alight promising a cold mechanical death.
"Fierfek!" Anakin cried before kicking at the metal appendage with a boot. His right hand stretched out for one of the OOm's blaster pistols, grabbed it, and took careful aim at the joint between the OOM's torso and its arm.
The flash of the discharge lit the compartment for a second, Anakin blinked the purple afterimages away from his eyes. When he could see he could see the OOM Commander droid still active, but missing the arm.
Thinking quickly, he plugged his datapad into the back of its head and downloaded as much of its memory core as he could, noting it was still connected throughout the majority of the battle for Naboo.
"Padawan! Kid! Hey Kid! Are you okay?!?"
This was a potential goldmine of information! If the Sith was connected to the Trade Federation's network at the time of the battle, there might be some innocuous command strings that could be an implication of a closer cooperation with the circumstances on Nabo-
"Kid answer me!"
"Padawan Lars here. Found an OOM droid. Its a command one, pretty damaged but it grabbed me. I'm alright though I got my datapad connected."
"Shut it down if you can!" His fingers flew across the datapad at lightning speed, having already been thinking of that step as the shutdown order was processed by the OOM's central processor. The photoreceptor's went dark. "Got it."
"Good, you scared us so much we brought up the Guardian and are outside in the plaza. We'll let you push on a bit as we do another sweep for mines, just in case."
Anakin snickered as he disconnected the cable and climbed out of the tank to give the officer a cheeky smile and a wave.
"Just get them back to my quarters in one piece."
The next hours worth of time had him examining the wreckage of the multi troop transport after trekking back and forth trying to force open a sluiceways drainage gate. Finally, after five minutes of using the force to pull the weeds from under the water holding the sluice gate down enough that the rusted mechanisms finally worked to drain the water to about knee high.
The worst thing wasn't wading through the water- it was the large creatures left behind. Eel like creatures with teeth. Animal Friendship came in handy enough to have them flop with little force pushes down the drain to a larger pool. But the effort of dealing with so many minds at once was pushing him to his limit.
The Multi Troop Transport was mostly secure- even from the crash as it was space rated. Taking a look inside the shutters proved to be difficult but he carved open a hole large enough to take a holo of the inside and send it to the NRSF guys who quickly cautioned them they were NOT filled with OOM models but two Droidekas, and a few of the Federation's more ubiquitous B-1 Heavy Battle droids prototypes and a few STAPs.
He quickly wondered if he could take the STAPs repulsive systems and modify an OOM to have a sort of repulsive pack capacity.
Lt. Flera called in another patrol to help with that salvage as at the two hour mark he came upon something while diving into the deep pool. An N-1 starfighter which had crashed.
The pilots remains he was able to grab in the darkness of the water, nothing but bones the fishes had picked clean. But there was a whisper in the force about the craft's other occupant.
An astromech, long rusted, with a water flora covered dome. When he got it to the surface he telekinetically lifted it to the side of the pool as he hauled himself out. Using the scuff of a sleeve, he wiped off a bit of the grime to reveal a rusted dome... With bits of blue painting marks about it.
The nagging feeling of the force planting a hook in his stomach reared its head again as the answer whispered to his psyche. He had seen this droid before!
It was on the Queen's ship way back on Tattoine! It would have been going with Obi wan, Qui Gon, and Padme on their fight into the city! At least till the point the pilots made a run on the Droid Control Ship! If they had run into the Sith before that, maybe there was even a partial record of the Darksider if he could recover anything! Maybe even the Intellex IV , or the memory bank could be saved!
He would need tools, possibly help to see if anything was recoverable.
It was at this point he felt through the Force Bond of his master close by. The sensation was followed by the approach of another Guardian Repulsorcraft coming in to hover above his head.
"Anakin, I sense your excitement, but not its cause? Did you find anything interesting?"
Master Zan used to have an expression, move the body move the mind. Space and time had passed since Anakin had last heard her words. But now in this morning, they came rushing back to him.

The Consequences of Loss and Growth Chapter 5
"So tell me about your Jedi training? What's Master Dooku like?'
You internally frowned. Master Dooku had told you not to tell her that you weren't a Jedi anymore and you understood why. You felt some frustrated at the thought of lying to Padme, but ultimately decided to obey your new Master's commands. You said,
"Master Dooku is a very stern man, but he is incredibly wise. I am honored to be allowed to be his apprentice. I've begun studying the ways of the Force and the Lightsaber, but I still have a long ways to go before I'm anywhere close to his level."
Padme smiled.
"I'm sure you'll get there eventually, Anakin," she paused, 'We were all devastated when we realized Obi-wan and Qui-gon had died. How are you holding up?
You answered.
Grief? [] [Grief] At peace. There are one with the Force. Unlocked by Light. [] [Grief] Angry. The Sith will pay for what they did. Unlocked by Dark.
[] [Grief] Sad, but I didn't know them that well.
[] [Grief] Write-In: Determined. You WILL find who caused their deaths and they WILL Suffer. This you swear!" by @Ksense
[] [Grief] Write-In: Wronged. You didn't know them for long enough to be angry that they were taken from you, or to sincerely grieve their deaths. But from the time you spent with them you know that they're good people, the kind of people who shouldn't be killed. @Umi-san
Padme nodded at you.
"I suppose that's a reasonable response. Master Sinube investigated the scene, but left soon after. I'm glad that you and Master Dooku are here to perform a more in-depth investigation. Master Sinube did not even examine the Sith's ship."
"The Sith ship?" You asked.
"Yes, it's impounded in one of our hangars."
You felt curiousity take you.
"Could I see it?"
You and Captain Panaka approached the ship. Your master had responded to his comm and stated that he would meet you there. You felt darkness roll off of the ship in waves and you shivered. This felt darker, more evil, than even the Sith Holocron you studied. You glanced at the Captain who seemed a bit uneasy approaching the ship, but did not seem to pick up on the evil aura. You shrugged off the fear that gripped you and continued walking towards the ship.
The bridge was down and you looked at the Captain.
"Have your troops investigate the ship recently?"
"No, actually," the man furrowed his brow, "I'm actually not sure why the bridge is down."
As if to answer the man's question, a six black probe droids suddenly exited the ship. You,

were caught off guard and howled in pain as the blaster bolt of one of the droids singed your arm (10damage). You dropped to your knees, the pain stinging something fierce, and watched in horror as several of the bolts slugged the Captain in the chest. He slumped to the floor and you felt his life force leave. You tried to stand,

You took a the basic Shii-Cho stance and gripped the handle of your training saber tightly. You briefly considered switching to Teräs Kasi but how could you harm droids with your bare hands.
The droids weaved about you and suddenly a barrage of fire came at you. Somehow, your body moved and you blocked the fire with your blade. You thrust out your hand at one droid and it went Hurtling into the wall with the power of your force push. One down. Five to go. Your thought cost you and once again blaster fire came at you. You managed to dodge and weave, but your hair was singed from the attack.
You leapt at another droid and batted it with your saber. The training setting on the blade would not allow it to cut, but the droid crashed into the ground from the blow. Two down. The ship engines suddenly hummed to life and you glanced at it in surprise. Someone was on board that ship. You let out a cry of pain as another blaster bolt hit your shoulder. The pain was so bad. You were certain that you were going to die.
No! You refused. You would not die here. You remained standing and glared at the four droids which faced you. Hatred and anger burned in your heart.
YOU WOULD NOT DIE HERE!
You thrust out your hand, anger flowing through you, and expected to see the droids fly back. Instead, a torrent of lightning emitted from your fingertips and slammed into the droids. The droids fried and crackled as your force lightning tore them apart. You felt alive as your anger was given physical form. The droids fell to the ground...smoking. You collapsed and felt blood soak your tunic. The pain was nigh unbearable.
A sharp and sadistic laugh rang out in the hangar. You sat up and the object of your hatred bared his teeth in an amused grin at you.
"You know, youngling, I'd planned on firing up my ship and leaving, but my...my...what a show!"
The Zabrak walked towards you. His left hand was missing, but in his right hand...the Sith gripped the hilt of a lightsaber. Obi-wan's.
Anger coursed through you.
"I'll kill you!"
"No, little youngling, it is I who will kill you."
"Step away from him," the cold voice of your master rangout through the hangar. You looked and there Dooku stood, his saber ignited, and a squadron of Naboo guards behind him.
You sighed in relief, but a sharp pain went through you at the action. The Zabrak grinned and let Obi-wan's saber drop to the ground. He lifted his arms in the air and grinned,
"I surrender!"
Dooku motioned for the guards to cuff the Zabrak and surprisingly, he let them. A grin rested on his face,
"I was just on my way to the Jedi Temple anyways, much obliged for you to show up and give me an escort."
Your master ignored the Zabrak and rushed to your side. Your eyes grew bleary as blood continued to rush out of your wounds. Everything went dark.

You awoke to the sound of beeping and pain. A medical droid peered over you, but backed away when it saw that your eyes had opened. The droid input several commands into its arms and murmured,
"Please tell her highness and the Jedi Anakin Skywalker is awake."
The droid looked at you,
"How do you feel?"
"In pain."
"Ah."
The droid pressed a few more buttons and suddenly the pain ceased. A wave of soothing warm washed over your body. The drugs you imagined. The door to the medbay opened and in walked your Master. Dooku wore a severe expression and he looked at the droid first,
"Status?"
"Scarring will occur where the boy was shot in the shoulders, but no other lasting damage. He should expect to regain full mobility within twenty-four hours."
Dooku nodded and took a seat on the side of your bed. His eyes pierced you and he tilted his head,
"How are you, Anakin?"
"A bit sore, but the meds help," you offered with a grimace, "Where is the Sith?"
"In a holding cell, apparently he wishes to testify."
"About what?" you asked in confusion.
"We don't know. The High Court of Naboo will convene two days to receive his testimony and render a judgement. You will be needed to testify about what occurred."
You grimaced at the thought of seeing the Sith again, but nodded.
"Rest up."
The following day found you up and following your Master to the hanger where you had been injured. You wore a new tunic and your training saber once again hung at your waist. You entered the hangar and Dooku turned to face you.
"You have undergone what the Jedi call the trial of flesh, a willingness to take damage in the line of duty. I am both impressed and concerned with what I saw on the video. You fought well, but you lacked control...most notably when you used the Dark Side technique of Force lighting. What did you feel when you destroyed the droids?"
You paused and felt your stomach drop. A dark side technique? Certainly Master Dooku would no longer teach you now. You frowned, but knew you could not lie to the man,
"Fear, anger,...hatred," you winced as you remembered Master Yoda's words from the temple. Dooku nodded, his eyes thoughtful,
"The Jedi...would have imprisoned you or severed you from the Force and expelled you from the Order for your actions," Dooku's eyes were hard, "What have you to say for yourself?"
"It was the heat of the moment, Master," you offered, "I was about to die and acted on instinct."
"And it is your instinct to rely on the Dark?"
"I only trained at the Jedi Temple for two weeks, Master. How am I supposed to know the difference between light and dark?" You asked in frustration. Dooku raised his brow at you and nodded,
"Indeed. Which is why it is astonishing that you were able to perform such an advanced Dark Side technique. You are different, Anakin Skywalker. Different enough that I am not so certain Jedi training will be suited for you."
You frowned. Though you had left the Jedi order to follow Dooku, you still desired to be trained in the ways of the Force. You moved to speak, but Dooku raised his hand to stop you,
"There are rumors in the Jedi order of a time when light and dark were used equally and without fear. The Force provided me a vision late last night."
"A vision, Master?"
"Yes, it was of you...terrible in the Darkness, but also blindingly pure in the light...you were Master of both the Light and the Dark. I believe the Force wishes you to be trained like the Jed'aii of Old, " Dooku paused and shook his head, "I will train you, Anakin Skywalker, but you must learn to control your power. Whether light or darkness, pursuing too much of either will consume you."
"Master Yoda disagreed," you murmured thoughtfully. Dooku scowled,
"Master Yoda is a fool holed up in a tower while the galaxy burns around him..as are all the Jedi. It is why I left."
You tilted your head and remembered your few interactions with the green one. You did not have enough information to agree or disagree with Master Dooku, but you felt his frustration in the force. You were suddenly reminded of how you had to remind the Jedi to do their duty to protect the Naboo. And how they had failed Obi-wan and Qui-Gon in both preparing them and investigating murders. Perhaps Master Dooku was right. The man suddenly unhooked his saber and motioned for you to do the same,
"We are going to go over the details of your fight. I will show you the mistakes you made during the fight.
Dooku worked with you over the details of your fight and you saw,

The following day found you sitting in a chair and recounting your testimony,
"..Master Dooku approached me and I lost consciousness."
The court looked at one another and then motioned for your to take a seat to the side. You did so and looked up at the queen. Padme sat in the center and was surrounded by the others rulers of Naboo. She spoke simply,
"Bring in the Prisoner."
The Zabrak entered the room with his head held high. Two guards flanked him, but it was Master Dooku behind him who was the real guardian. Force restraining cuffs prevented him from accessing the force. Nonetheless, the Zabrak looked completely in control. Merely seeing him caused a mixture of fear and anger to rise up within you.
The Zabrak came to stand in the center of the room. His held was raised high, but he remained silent. Padme spoke,
"Your Name?"
"Maul."
"Why did you come to Naboo?"
"To kill you, your highness," his tone was so matter of fact that there was a stunned silence. Padme swallowed and asked, "Why did you wish to kill me?"
"It was the Orders of my Master, Darth Sidious."
You noticed Master Dooku shift slightly at these words. You waited for Padme to continue,
"Why does your Master wish me dead?"
"It's unlikely he does anymore, your highness, it would be unlikely to serve any purpose."
"Why -did- he want me dead then?"
Maul chuckled and shook his head.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"Try us," Padme's voice was clear and to the point.
"My Master wished to be elected to the title of Chancellor. Killing you would provide sympathy for his cause, but also allow his friends in the Trade Federation to grow in power."
"Outrageous!" Sio Bibble stood in anger, "This is absurd!"
"Absurd or not," Maul's voice was cold, "This is the truth. My master controls the Senate and soon he will control all of the Republic."
You shifted in your seat nervously. If what Maul said was true...
"Then why submit yourself to testimony?" You blurted out. Everyone looked at you, but it was Maul's yellow gaze that unnerved you. Dooku spoke sternly,
"Anakin, be quiet."
"Anakin?" Maul's gaze did not leave you as he spoke your name. Testing it. A wide smile crossed his face, "The boy from Tatooine. I hunted the Jedi there, but found no trace of them...until I came to a moisture farm. Your mother's screams were delicious as she died. Your name was the last upon her lips."
Shock went through you, but the force confirmed his words. You sat back in your seat...completely numb. Mom...Cliegg..Owen...dead?
Suddenly, an explosion rocked the palace and the floor beneath you collapsed.

[] [Ambition] Choose One
Alright, we're pretty heavy into the Dark now, so I want to avoid taking any Dark Side ambitions or Dark Side Options if possible. The last time we did that thoughtlessly we gained 10 Dark Side Points, and we're at the point where another jump like that would send us careening over the side into Crazy Town.
With that in mind, I'm now leaning towards the following:
[] [Grief] Sad, but I didn't know them that well.
As this is the only Non-Dark Side Option and Write-ins for this one seem to be disallowed.
[] [Maul] Attempted to save him. The Courts would decide his fate. Unlocked by Lawful
Because I do not want to give this bastard what he wants or expects. He thinks Anakin's going to try to murderize him, let's prove him wrong! Maul's on his death bed and unarmed (beyond Teras Kasi) and Anakin's at full strength. Odds are ... decent we won't suffer immediate existence failure with this option, and though leaving him is probably the safest option, it's also probably a DS option.
[] [Ambition] Learn More about the Sith! (500XP)
[] [Ambition] Was Maul telling the truth about your family?(+2,000, +1CP) New!
As for ambitions, I like the Family one, because we're going to investigate that, obviously, and I like the Learn More about the Sith option because it's the most immediate one we can pick and remedy swiftly. That's my thought process anyway. Anyone have a response?
No plan in mind yet, but I think it's prudent we prioritise confirmation of Maul killing our loved ones. Easy EXP as far as I'm concerned. We save him and have Dooku proceed with some interrogation. Besides, we lost our Kenobi, and Maul is practically his dark counterpart; his moral foil. I say we not kill him, in fact he could be our way in on Sidious inside info, along with dark side training. We likely don't want Dooku going too far darkside so Maul is a good second.

[] [Ambition] Was Maul telling the truth about your family?(+2,000, +1CP) New!
[] [Ambition]: Build a Combat Droid (+1000XP)
[] ToLearn how to Swim (+1500XP)
Edit I cannot decide by these three choices. Swimming is an imperative I think for later. It can't just always have us using a rebreather and using the force as "ballast."
@Arthellion since you liked the omake and thought it enough for quest "canon" could we get a story option for rebuilding r2d2?
Can I do an omake about possibly playing around at building a combat droid from salvage talked about in the prior omake?
Tempted to vote for the below:
[] [Grief] Sad, but I didn't know them that well.

[] Ambition: Learn More about the Sith! (500XP)
Angry will bring us closer to the Dark and it isn't necessarily accurate. Like, sad is probably the best way to say how we are, I feel. We want vengeance upon the people who killed people who are nice, but we might not necessarily feel angry about them dying in particular.
Saving people is good, imo, but equally importantly having him be sentenced by the law is a) just, and b) will provide more information for us to like... kill Bail Organa I guess lol. Maybe we should just kill him if we trust that Bail isn't Darth Sidious.
Obviously we should find out if our family is dead. Which might not be hard.
Learning more about the Sith seems of great immediate importance and is perhaps relatively easy to fulfill if we talk to Maul.
