I will say that the Ones in the Clone Wars were meh in terms of power. But watching the fights again, it seemed that Anakin got a massive boost from the planet/area to help subdue them in the first round then they all killed each other off with family drama. Perhaps mental illusions of the Ones would distract/mentally attack Abeloth, but in terms of raw power and bullshit prerequisites needed to kill her....I am much more hesitant. At the minimum I would take Palpatine's sheet and add a 0 to the end of every number.

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything? It's not like anyone will ever know we are the result of an immaculate conception just from the name. Even if @Arthellion is going with the canon of Plagueis causing our birth, even he never knew what the vergeance he created manifested as, or where.

I'm for the middle option myself: Skywalker, but mom told us not to worry about it. Even if it's found out by the Jedi later, it might actually help our reputation at that point, and our pull in the order. We're not being held to different standards right now.

Both holocrons for sure. For the father thing, let's keep it a secret. We can always reveal it later if we have to but for now let's wait and see how things play out.

Anakin didn't seem to get any bonuses for being the chosen one besides being excepted into the Jedi. Even then they were fairly hesitant.

Spending time with the Jedi seems like a good choice. Unless you think jar jar is the secret Sith master.
 
I mostly agree with @Iandude0 here, take both holocrons cause they cancel each other out and to prevent the Sith from finding our home because leaving the red holocron there might attract unwanted attention (or something bullshit like Owen finding it and joining the dark side or something). No reason to reveal our Skywalker name, if people think we're just a normal albeit highly talented kid they won't be too suspicious of the whole chosen one schtick.

If only because Anakin Skywalker rolls off the tongue much better than Anakin Lars...

I'd prefer if we kept the Skywalker name, particularly because we have no knowledge in character of the Sith plot. Maybe Anakin associates his name as Skywalker from his earlier life? Hmm. It's actually my taste in names talking, but I'm half-sure Anakin prefers the name 'Skywalker.' Half-sure, that is.

Skywalker is the name of destiny. Lars is the name of a farmer. Let's wait until we can fill the shoes of our destiny before we claim our heritage.

Keep the Lars name and keep the lack of biological father under wraps.

We don't need more attention on us. Sure, Anakin may want to keep that name, but he also values his family and would want to keep a connection with the Lars family.

One of these, since the QM has confirmed they cancel each other's signatures out, we definitely don't want to get caught with a Sith Holocron, and discussion in the thread has made paranoid about the Jedi taking away the other Holocron if they find it.

While it doesn't have the same ring to it that "Anakin Skywalker" does, I do agree with the reasoning that Anakin would keep the name because he considers himself part of the family. That said, I don't agree with the line of thinking that says it would make us less noticeable.

In terms of masters, Qui Gon is my first choice, assuming he survives. leaving aside his tendencies he also has at least some experience with unorthodox techniques.

Barring that, I'd want Plo Koon (physics nerd, master duelist, hand to hand combat, and knows Light Side Lightning).

I forgot who mentioned wanting an alias after leaving the Jedi, but if we go with this option, we join the Jedi under an alias. :)

I would rather not draw attention to us for anything but our achievements anyway.

This is a combination of IC and OOC information. Anakin would be interested in the ship and piloting on his first trip off Tatooine, and he might learn something to advance his piloting skills. He probably won't have many opportunities to spend time with pilots over the next few years. Qui-Gon is about to die to Darth Maul unless things change drastically. He's pretty unorthodox for a Jedi, so it will be helpful to experience a different point of view before going through Jedi training.

The Jedi should have a higher chance of accepting us since Anakin is much calmer than in canon. It will be nice to grab this XP quickly.

We should also write to Arden at some point and let her know that we left with the Jedi but want to train with her some day. Anakin should also try to communicate with his family back on Tattooine, and if the Jedi won't let him, he should find some way to send messages to them under the radar. I don't want our relationship with Owen to detrioriate, and if we start having nightmares about Shmi as in canon, we can forewarn them or go to save her before she dies.

Running off to save Shmi would also be a nice excuse to leave the Jedi order.

Guys, there is absolutely nothing special about the Skywalker surname, it is not a legendary lineage or the mark of the chosen one, it is merely Shimi´s maiden surname, and she was merely a slave between millions.

And Anakin is one between thousands of fatherless children on that planet.

What I mean is that there is no logical reason that may lead us to think that naming ourselves Skywalker, or admit that we don´t know who was our biological father is going to get more attention from the sith.

The only thing that we are getting out of this is having the option of having an Awesome McCoolname or not.
