@UberJJK Just did the math but if you took the 327.5 RP and used 300 of those points on a 300 point project we'd have enough to do the Cortana update at exactly 150 points. I'd say dong a 300 RP and using the rest to finish the Cortana update. For the 300 RP I'd suggest the basic hacking VI since that also helps with cyber security.

I think Cortana Upgrade is completely unresearched (still needs full 150RP), and UberJJK was using it as a remainder RP dump.

Thanks for the reminder. I would have had this done yesterday but a sudden blackout stopped me literally five minutes before I was ready to post this.


So based upon player feedback here are the changes to take into account the extra RP:

Plugged Swarm:
Cortana Upgrade: 72.5/150 -> 100/150
Basic Hacking VI: 0/300 -> 300/300

Crypto Plugged Swarm:
Mk II Suit: 50/150 -> 150/150
Hegemony Cryptography: 472.5/? -> 650/?

All In Crypto:
Basic Construction VI: 300/300 -> 370/300
Hegemony Cryptography: 1072.5/? -> 1280/?

@tri2 - Just to double check; Labs can't work on projects with skill restrictions without a Hero heading them and Revy doesn't count for that right? I ask because for this I had to waste some of the RP because there was no efficient way of doing things due to skill restrictions.

I went with Basic Hacking VI since out of the three suggests 1 was just a general "one of the" 300pt VI and the other 2 were both for Basic Hacking VI so effectively that makes it 3/3. For the Crypto plans I instead dumped that extra RP into Crypto because it is an unknown threshold so the more investment the better.
 
will certainly speed things up, knowing things ain't everything, gotta understand what you know as well, and that takes people more time, some more than others.
You forgot to mention that no matter how knowledgeable, someone dumb as brick can't become a good researcher. :V
More seriously - we need smart people with specific mindset first and foremost. Knowledge, while might be a problem, isn't the problem here.
 
Maybe tweak it as "Revy counts only if spending at least (insert number or percent) of her research-per-turn points in the lab?
That way we'll be unable to cheat it by using Lab+ 1RP from Revy, but that'll be possible to use labs effectively after we'll finish most of "low hanging fruits".

I mean I already given you guys Revy + own personal lab RP boost + ability to distribute her points nearly anywhere she can reach. Now you want + gains X number of lab boosts to her RP?

Of course we want that, and many more things. :p
But my post wasn't about it. It was about the researches that locked under requred skill levels. As time goes, there will be more of it, and less "free" research projects. So, our labs without heroes, from the some point, will be unable to work. I doubt that will happen soon, of course, but...
So I suggested a way, if not to solve, then at least to reduce this problem.

I think it was more concern that under the current system once/if we run out of unskilled projects (IE: projects that don't have a skill requirement) we'll have a number of useless Labs floating around. Currently we can support 10 Labs but have only 5 Research Heroes. Given that each Research Hero can only lend their skill to one Lab that means when/if that time comes we'll have 5 Labs idling unable to work. The obvious solution would be to get more Research Heroes but considering the DC for that is 95 vs a flat 1d100 getting even one Research Hero is going to be tough (~5% chance) let alone an extra 5.

DC 95 is only for that one. For next it'll be even higher, iirc.

There will be plenty of non skill locked projects rest assured and even then V
DC 95 is only for that one. For next it'll be even higher, iirc.
DC's for research heroes increase per hero already have, but there are actions and tech you can do to reduce the DC as well.
 
Ooooook just got done binge reading this thing after FINALLY bringing myself to read it a few days ago. And holy crap. It's great! Both shorter than I feared I'd have o commit myself too to finish it yet all too short! Should have started years ago when I first heard about it.
I definitely want to work on those biotic machines. It'd help Biotics with heavier armor and we'd have ships that can put other ships into stasis or singularities.
I'm not gonna read thru all those discussions but I will read thru the parts from the last chapter or two.
Why hasn't Conrad's research been completed yet? The blackhole gun and the stealth thing? Right now making the gun should be too priority for infantry then up scale it to ship to ship combat. That'd plus biotic warships would make up the number disparity between Batarians and SA.

Basically because the Blackhole gun is way too expensive research wise while Conrad skills let him research stuff the others can't on top of us still being able to research numerous other weapons that are also cheaper.
 
When did the Pynda get made? I don't remember a decision. Just suddenly we were selling Pyndas
The Pynda was discussed and designed in the thread between updates. Product design has predominately defaulted to players putting together a persuasive proposal involving tech we've already researched then someone including that product in a vote. So the update where we offered it for sale to the Systems Alliance was the first proper appearance in an update.

Still think the blackhole gun should be made with secondary focus on the biotics. Maybe hold back on the Blackstorm till a ship version can be made (or an emergency situation, wouldn't be wrong to keep a weapon or two in secret till needed like another invasion force comes. Especially as it's a game changer) and the biotic ship can be done. Then release all at once for a massive turnaround both militarily and psychologically. Yes the research is high but we've done that before and it's just a marker for how impressive the tech is.

Likewise I think the Mark II should be important. It's so much less research for so much gain. Yet not done. Yeah the Alliance nor ParSec actually needs it with the current suit domination with no end in sight, but it would be good to make a few as gifts for high value personal. Like Revy for the next time they try to take her. Alliance personal to increase our rep and make more military members want to get on her good side like Anderson, Hackett, General "Break-My-Babies" Decroix. Honestly surprised he didn't just call in heavier ordinance on the Tiger. Garon, or Liara especially when she goes off searching for relics. I assume she does that in the background on and off. Other VIPs on staff.
Something I am confused by. Kasumi got ahold of a stealth suit that made her invisible and that's canon right? Was that some other research because Conrad's stealth research says it's still not done.

What are the chances I could convince enough people to have Revy put up money to revive the Zoids franchise and convince the owner of the Zoids rights to let her design real animal mechs based on Zoids?
I remember there was a mention of VR MMO bit didn't do that because it wouldn't be inline with the company's established goals. And some company I don't remember the name of was likely to make one for the ANI anyway. How's that going? And could we send them 💰 to fund a proper VR MMO?

Wouldn't the Prothean Mars research go faster if we made a languages VI and built a dedicated facility to it to nothing but decrypt

@tri2 An idea you can use if you want when it comes to writing the research projects when they are being done is that we can see Revy interacting with the other scientists like Mordin and Conrad. After all it was noted before that the reasons that PI's scientist can keep putting out so much bullshit with their scientists is due to Revy helping out every now and again with her 'science dust'. Basically it's potentially letting the quest have Revy have more character interactions like she does with Kasumi during research like with them playing laser tag when Revy did the lasers research.
 
I am interested in seeing hints of what future Kasumi will look like. Future Kasumi is going to be very interesting considering that Revy was essentially her big sister since childhood. Not to mention, I am pretty sure that Kasumi stole the prototype stealth suit and Revy, being the good big sister, is not demanding Kasumi to return it as well as a lot of other stuff that probably went missing.
