Shepard Quest Mk VII, Age of Revy (ME/MCU)

was actually thinking of the Hanar asking you to do it for the Drell homeworld to use that as a gateway event, but later found out the Drell homeworld became a barren dead world a few centuries ago. The Drell on the Hanar homeworld are it.
Not that we need the relation boost with either the Hanar or Drell, but if we're allowed, restoring the Drell homeworld is rather appealing to me.

So with that we've got an extra 327.5RP to spend, 400RP if I pull the leftover I'd previously dumped on Cortana. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking for Plugged Swarm and Turian Bribe that 400RP into Advanced Research VI bringing it up to 450/600 so we can easily finish it next turn. For Crypto Plugged Swarm we can add back in the MkII while still having enough RP left over to hit 650RP on Crypto which crosses two extra break points (500RP and 600RP) compared to the 472.5RP of the base plan. All In Crypto meanwhile would, as is keeping with the theme, go all in on Crypto getting up to 1350RP so even if the threshold is 1600RP we'd easily finish the following turn.

Are you replacing Cortana Upgrade on the plans that use them for Advanced Research VI? IMO if we're not going to finish the Advanced Research VI this turn anyway, I'd rather just finish off Cortana Upgrade or one of the basic VI projects (only 300RP) this turn, then dump the rest into Advanced Research VI.

Actually, can Tokyo Class Cruiser Block 3 Upgrade be done concurrently with Heavy Cruisers research, or do we have to wait until next turn to research the block upgrade?

I imagine it would have to wait. Basic Construction VI and Construction Drones have the excuse that software and hardware are two separate aspects of a project. In fact it often results in synergistic gains from working on both simultaneously as long as the teams are well integrated.

Heavy Cruiser meanwhile is figuring out how you go about designing a Heavy Cruiser. Trying to upgrade a Heavy Crusier while simultaniously trying to work out how Heavy Cruisers work in the first place is a terrible idea. Plus personally I would suggest grabbing at least 500 MACs before/while working on the Tokyo Block Upgrade since that is likely the size of the Tokyo's main guns.

Is there any chance to get Advanced Research VI that turn? Because investing research in getting more research.
Not without dropping something important, even the MkII isn't enough, and while Advanced Research VI is going to be nice it isn't that much of a gain. Basic Research VI provides +10% RP even if it doubles to +20% it would make that much of a difference. +100RP to Revy, +30RP to Conrad and Mordin, +15RP to the rest. Except as you can see from the research plans one of the biggest issues we're facing is actually overshooting RP requirements and wasting RP.

Best case scenario we gain +205RP but often times it will be less although never lower then +100RP (Revy's bonus). Assuming we are looking at a doubling rather then say an extra +5 (10% -> 15%). +205RP is nice but that is also less then a single Lab III.

Speaking of which; we should consider (probably not this turn) building some Lab Is on Mindoir. One of the big issues I faced this turn is that our Research Heroes need to work with a Lab to gain their full potential (Base * 1.85) but the Lab Bonus often causes them to overshoot significantly. A bunch of Lab Is (providing +97.5RP instead of +277.5RP) would neatly solve that and free up our Lab IIIs to work on other projects; increasing overall efficiency.

we can only have a max of 10 labs total and we currently building the max amount atm..why did we choose to place single labs on other worlds l have no clue they simple go to waste
Right! I knew I was forgetting about something when wondering why I hadn't been previously planning on building more Lab Is when I previously noticed this problem. So yeah; with that in mind even though it causes more waste we should probably strive to upgrade all our Labs to Tier 3 for those rare times it does help.

You'd have to ask @Daemon Hunter why they put Lab IIIs on Benning and Demeter. I suspect however the answer is that we didn't quite understand the Research mechanics well enough to realize the disadvantages there. That said they don't actually go to waste; Labs can work on research projects without Heroes, they just can't work on skill restricted ones.

To explain myself, that's because our heroes had enough labs on Mindoir, and I wanted to spread them out in case of disaster. Also, Overshooting is less of a problem than having a lower base bonus, and I'm pretty sure all Lab IIIs is our goal.

Btw, about Labs. When limit of 10 was implemented?
And more importantly - does it have a in-universe explanation?

it was implemented near the beginning of this continuation
IC background checks and sufficient skills to be hired from Humans. Can't just hire a bunch of interns or people who only graduated and got a piece of paper that says they are qualified. unless really good

edit: lab limits will increase every couple years as more people gain experience in the field and graduate from schools.

Thanks for explanation. Sounds solid.

mmm with that in-universe limitation of skilled scientist I wonder if researching the age juvnat option would mean that lab increase faster as fewer old scientists need to retire. That is I suppose the benefit of removed aging means a constantly rising population that would mean a larger pop for the military when the reapers show and more time to adapt to the new social paradigm that it makes.
Though I think that would just be the icing on the cake for literally all the human and selarian rep that I would want, though I would really want turians before garrus's mother dies but there is some time there.
Though I still want to push xeno adaptation options so we don't get hit with rep maluses for favritism and last time mordin looked like he wanted to continue work on this specifically.

UberJJK did you pick what an extra research with the 327.5RP from the missing lab 3? l suggest [ ] Basic Hacking VI [300]: as we trying to expand our rumer mill/intel network and also provides extra security.

other option if we get the 75 from Cortana and make it 400RP we can go [ ] Advance Aerospace (Insert Vehicle Type) (400): ....l really like to get a better shuttle going. the mass effect shuttle yea no just no. mabay bomber or boarding ship is possible to

So does that mean that Plug&Play Skills will let us build more labs?

Plug and Play Skills [800] (Requires Biology and Programming Skill Rank B): Want to learn Kung Fu? Here's a chip to slot into your brain. So long as the chip is installed you know what the chip knows once you get used to the new skills. It can also function as a teacher. Only challenge can be finding some one to record the skills from.

by sounds of it no. just means people learn faster and more efficient it will most likely give(this is base thats on my head but l wanted to show an example its not hard fact) a 10x learning speed while a chip is active and a 5x for on hand experience such as tool handling, building stuff, art ect...

so as an example doctor takes 5 years to train and surgeon 8 years(more often 6 years total but the extra 2 years makes sense in some countries teaching style) would transfer to 6 months to 1 year for basic doctor and surgeon would be 20 months to 30 months (1.66 years to 2.5 years) speeding everything up and making cost go down nearly as fast

l could be well of but thats what it feels like to me

Not quite. With Plug and Play skills while the skill chip is installed you (after a bit of time to get used to it) have that skill. So if you install a Surgeon Chip then as soon as you get used to it you are a surgeon. However if you remove the chip the skill goes with it. Unless of course you spend the time "properly" learning the skill so that even after the chip is removed you are still a capable surgeon. That is the training time that is being reduced by the skill chip.

TL-DR: Skill Chip == Instant skill until removed. Skill Chip + Training == Eventual (faster then normal) permanent skill.

Wait, do we really have an extra 327.5 RPs?

@UberJJK Just did the math but if you took the 327.5 RP and used 300 of those points on a 300 point project we'd have enough to do the Cortana update at exactly 150 points. I'd say dong a 300 RP and using the rest to finish the Cortana update. For the 300 RP I'd suggest the basic hacking VI since that also helps with cyber security.

only Revy can divide points between projects, labs and other heroes cannot, one project at a time.
