I think some of us are still in the, "well, that was certainly a thing" phase.
Yup. Gah. Such thingness.

I imagine Serafina is building a mental file she's going to send to Cross... Because dropping Ethical Compliance on their necks (from a great height) sounds quite nice.

solidifying our access to the Amalgam does open up potential for that Mind 4/Corr 2 "ho ho ho, now I have a flying cyborg warsquid gunship" route...
This has a significant amount of appeal...
[X] Solidify her access to Amalgam-391

NWO doesn't have 'sexy spy' as the low end rapey aspect of their convention. NWO has true lies style suborning random civilians into service of the convention in order to gain specific intel or have them commit specific actions, which can involve things like sending an email to a random person in an office building, sticking a sniper on a roof, and then shooting something of theirs to convince them that their life is in your hands and they should totally do whichever illicit act you want. Which can range from 'plug this USB into the mainframe' to 'go to this address and have sex with the person who lives there' on a sliding scale of abuse.

NWO has the whole sexy spy thing going.
Yeah, though I frankly doubt that many NWO commanders use their subordinates as sex toys, partially because the NWO paradigm is stacked so that it makes obtaining consensual sex easy and partially because it just seems like a really bad idea. Given that those same subordinates are highly trained in deception and espionage you know.

Though, I could make an argument for using a mind rote to persuade a sleeper into having sex with you being essentially rape.

Ahh NWO. You continue to be the nicest and the most creepy faction at the same time.~~

Regardless of the level of morality, it still strikes me as really creepy and just bad moral practice.
Well I am not sure about it being a bad moral practice, but haven't FACADE always been creepy as fuck?

Even if we don't bring the sex into it, the Laura clones are basically slaves, having no choice in life in what they do, they are build with enough cognitive abilities to be able to work in a very large amount of tasks, and gets assigned to a job that has nothing to do what what they want(Not that they even want anything) and can be reprogrammed as will by any Enlightened Scientist who wonders into her path. They are the first to catch a bullet when Reality Deviants raid constructs and their emotion and free will are chemically/surgically removed to make them better slave workers for the Technocratic Union. And in a few years, they get recycled for parts because a Progenitor somewhere have made a better version of the gene-line that can type 5% faster, so the obsolete clones gets phased out.

And the Void Engineers have their green-skined space-babes, and the NWO has the whole sexy spy thing going.
Well I dunno about the Void Engineers, consider how much they changed from Cap'n Kirk's adventure in Space to WH40K Hold the Line against mechanical gods thirsting for the souls of humanity.

NWO though, would have trained you in mental techniques in turning off your sex drive so such human weakness don't jeopardize the mission, (the high end NWO operative we've seen are almost all Asexual and married to their work) or on the opposite end, "Weird Trick to make chicks drop their panties" is probably a very real rote in the NWO arsenal, and it probably works just as advertised.

So are pickup artists a group of orphans with half of a NWO textbook?

You don't have to be an enlightened scientist to learn a bit of psychology. Or be an asshole.

PUA techniques are, despite what they like to claim, far from being 3 easy steps. They're not quick and they're not reliable, and they mostly consist of getting a girl to lower her standards by making her feel insecure and bad about herself. (translation: if you use them, you're being a douchebag.)

Not could we get away from the discussion of sex before it goes somewhere it shouldn't and get back to planning how to escape a murdercatbot?

[X] Rescue Alice - If she can just find her, she can get her out of here, maybe without Panopticon even knowing that she's not in Mexico City anymore. They need to talk. And Serafina can't trust the Technocracy any more. She might be the only ally Serafina can quasi-trust for now, because neither of them want to be killed by Panopticon.

As Aleph said, the Sysadmin may not be so easy, and if we're caught trying, Serafina is royally screwed. Our goal in being in Mexico City in the first place if get Alice out of there and away from Panopticon's sights. So let's not get sidetracked yet again. Let's just get her, and GTFO back to LA before Serafina has a meltdown worrying what happened to her daughter. .......and maaaaaaybe a little concern for her daughter's boyfriend.

Jane Bond

[X] Rescue Alice
-> By using some of her 2IC-level access to tweak the lizard-men that Alice has been ambushing so that, when Alice braintrawls them, she gets a way to contact Sera instead of the false info. (Mind/Life/Corr?)
--> Maybe the way to contact her is just calling Alicia. That would be just about absolute confirmation that it really is Sera and not a trap.
-> And once this is all over, call down Alexander's blazing fury on Amalgam-391.

I'm with Strypgia on this. We came to Mexico to get off Panopticon's radar and (OOCly) to rescue Alice. Let's do that and then GTFO.

Also, this opens up the opportunity for Alice, Alicia, and Serafina to come crashing in (while possibly riding the warsquid gunship) and save everyone's asses like Big Goddamn Heroes. That alone makes it worth it.

I would like to remind you all that a big part of the theme of this entire quest is how people who should be co-operating, aren't. Because they don't trust each other.

Alice is not necessarily going to cooperate with whatever plan Sera has. Or necessarily trust her, at least not at first.

I would say that giving it a shot is better than not trying at all, even if Alice does cut and run once she's out. Even just letting her know that it's just Panopticon that has the hate-boner for her and not the entire goddamn Technocracy is at least something.

[X] Solidify her access to Amalgam-391

Smells a LOT like bait so far. Secure deeper access first. When we act it must be decisive.

I personally think of most of the Progenitor bioroids as Limited AI, with the potential to be full persons over time.

Using them for their designed purpose is perfectly fine, and probably more ethical than the slaughter of farm animals even, as they are designed to enjoy their purpose. Just squicky on the part of the user.

Our goal in being in Mexico City in the first place if get Alice out of there and away from Panopticon's sights. So let's not get sidetracked yet again.

Actually, I would point out that Serafina's original goal here was to find this smaller, less protected Panopticon cell and pump members for information on what they're up to. She infiltrated this facility so she could find Panopticon rather than running randomly around Mexico City, population 20 million.

Or at least that was what Alicia said the plan was, back before Serafina found out about Alice. Admittedly, Alicia lies a lot.

Alicia: "Yay! It's great being mechanically both a Circumspect Avatar and a Manifest Avatar even though I am in no way actually an Avatar. Oh, and I'm also an Ally. I am an Ally for realsies."

After some thought, I think I'm going with

[X] Solidify her access to Amalgam-391

Not because it's the cautious "make sure we have a safe position" plan - remember what caution did for us in Moscow - but because, bluntly, I don't think teaming up with Alice will add much to our capability (and Alicia is handling "drawing fire away from her" anyway), and I don't think we have enough force projection at the moment to seriously hinder Panopticon. And if we aren't seriously hindering Panopticon, there's not much point in hindering them at all, since they'll know someone's doing so and start looking for them.

So. Solidify our access. Increase our available assets considerably. Then hit them with everything we've got and leg it before they can follow the trail back to this Amalgam.

Pretty much. Rescuing Alice doesn't actually change the fact that Panopticon is trying to hunt her down and kill her - it just means now they're hunting down both of us. It also means that, away from the high-ranking Panopticon assets, we have no chance of, for instance, mind-trawling someone and finding out about "Jamelia" leading the Amalgam, which should be enough to work out about Ms Clock.

Now, the problem with Solidify Access is that it's trading time for reduced risk, which as we saw in Moscow is a trap intended specifically for player paranoia and caution. This is why I'm being very clear that I'm not choosing it for the lowered risk to Serafina; I'm choosing it for a knock-on effect of that lowered risk, which is that we can fire more ordinance at Panopticon before being found out and having to flee. If we leave this Panopticon cell partially functional, Bad Things happen. We want to be pretty sure of taking them out in one shot, even if it means that they're correspondingly closer to catching Alice when we do it.

I'm choosing it for a knock-on effect of that lowered risk, which is that we can fire more ordinance at Panopticon before being found out and having to flee.
This. Because being able to arrange for a live-fire test of the "stegosaurus with EDE genetics which can project force fields from its scales and has the intelligence of a twelve year old", possibly with the war-squid gunship involved, that just happens to run over some Panopticon assets, is a good thing.

How far does the Xenomorph terminator's reality bubble extend? Would it be viable for Donald or Reina to create a detection system by trying to improve some bit of tech, and realizing that the Anathema is nearby when it suddenly becomes much easier?
Hybrids were loaded with false memories - if target is using brain-scanning, it will receive false intel. Should lead it to bait.
I will be very amused if it turns out that after Panopticon failed to off Serafina with lies about Alice, they are going to try to off Alice with lies about Serafina.

You know, Reina is apparently the mother of all mecha-stuff for the setting, if what Rose said a while back in the museum was true. Could we use that fact somehow, given we happen to be fighting a mecha?

For Serafina,
[x] Solidify her access to Amalgam-391

With regards to Reina, please tell me that she didn't build the Computer as part of trying to build a God worthy of worship. Because that's would probably make it the most disastrous case of idolatry of all time. I mean, seriously!

Is it idolatry to build a God worthy of being worshipped when you know that reality is under a Consensus and that all other gods are also just made by men?

(Reina took Arete 6 hard)

Thou shalt not worship false idols?

Clearly the solution is to make a real one.
