There isn't? That's interesting kind of explains a bit about Fate/Extra and why it's so wei-

Sigh.

Orlando was one crazy transgender man, and it takes a devoted trap like Astolfo to collect his wits from the moon.
"He flies in Elijah's flaming chariot to the moon, where all things lost upon the earth end up, and locates Orlando's wits in a bottle"
A feat replicated in Apo with duly unpredictable trap power.

How? Where does it say he can do that?
Hippogriff has the ability to do a teleportation that lets it go to the moon, and also to the underside of the world.

The Matter of France is one random as hell legend, and goes everywhere from folktale to Christian characters randomly appearing to surprise Muslims.

Given that Wade Garrett has referred to that piece of trapshit as "Worst Rider"* in the past, I do not believe he will be making an appearance in our RP.

Plans that require Astolfo as a key part of them are flawed plans.

*This is, presumably, because he is Worst Rider.

Alas such a tragedy, considering how ridiculously useful Astolfo is if he just shut up and fixed his mentally polluted head, which is the sole reason he forgets how to use his magic manual that gives him EX ranked MR and the ability to destroy reality marbles.

Actually, no, his Noble Phantasm description says that even if he had it at full power it would still do nothing against Reality Marbles.

They're an exception to its abilities.

Astolfo's problems are that he's supposed to be "Aren't I cute? Isn't my childlike naivete adorable?" And I'm sitting over here going WHY! WON'T! YOU! DIIIIIEEEEEE!

It's especially galling because the Rider class is typically the domain of awesome Servants (Drake, Broskander, Medusa, even Achilles has his moments) and then Astolfo wafts in like a fart in a perfume shop.

Oh well, with Fate: Grand Order's release Motormouth is now Second Worst Rider, so he has that going for him, I guess.

Person who translated the stat sheet for Astolfo and is the source of the info on the wiki page says that:
"When its true name is released and the book is read, it becomes possible to break all magecraft close to High-Thaumaturgy aside from Reality Marbles.[1] "
on the wiki is meant to be
"like Besides RMs, high thaumaturgy also needs the true name spoken to break. Like that"

Not adding Oz to that list? :p

Even though I admit that his arrogance can make him seem too much like Gil and not his own person at times.

Out of morbid curiosity, who replaces Trapstolfo as Worst Rider? I know George is slotted to appear, and I have heard of another Rider, but not much beyond that.

That still looks to me like something along the lines of 'can't do this no matter what' for Reality Marbles. Which would make thematic sense with how Reality Marbles have always previously been described as something very close to True Magic.

The other way of reading it, 'Reality Marbles are easy, but mere High Thaumaturgy needs the true name' makes no goddamn sense whatsoever.

Well Drake is a hit or miss character imo, but I agree (S)he is a compelling one. Achilles is just too cookie cutter muh honor duh hero sort of character for me, just like how Siegfried was too much of the quiet strong disillusioned blah blah not!EMIYA type.

Oz is also a really good Rider imo.
But yeah, GO Rider is a bad genderbend which is already a bad start.

"In addition to Reality Marbles, as far as things extremely close to High-Thaumaturgy are concerned, one must release the book's true name and read the book before they become possible to break."

I'll ask for that wiki page to be edited again when I can.

Is Grand Order worth a look? The hearsay I've seen so far doesn't give it a particularly glowing view (crazy power creep + really questionable character design. Or so I've heard; from what Google gives me I'm in agreement with the second part at least, though)

GO is a mobile game that's gonna be Japanese servers only, so I don't think the majority of us can take a look even if we wanted to :(.
Power creep is indeed insane, we get Karna's rival Arjuna, Scathach who taught Cu, possibly the demon of Faust, and others. The only really bad design I thought was Rider and Sabers'. Everyone else seemed okay.

That's stupid.

About as stupid as Yggdmillenia managing to move a
~115-118 meters base-to-top height
~92-95 meters base diameter
~45-48 meters top diameter
~440-490 thousand cubic meters volume
...And arbitrarily assuming a specific gravity of ~1890 (density of ~10% granite, ~90% mud) due to the Grail's supposed contents...
~831-926 thousand tonne mass
structure from Japan to Transylvania without damaging it beyond repair, so about par the course for Apocrypha, but still really stupid.

(Seriously, think about the size of the Greater Grail and what that means when trying to steal it for a minute.)

I'm assuming it's this rider.

...Okay.

Breathe in, breathe out.

I have nothing against fanservice, even if I don't care much for it. But she instantly loses points based off desing alone.

Please, not another Apocrypha/Strage Fake/Garden of Avalon, please...

And I always wondered how in the name of all that is holy and unholy he managed to steal that and conceal it from lots of interested parties too lol. But almost 1k tons? That's insane. Didn't realize it was that heavy.

(I actually got those numbers from the Permanent Temporary I mentioned earlier.)

No no no. Almost a million tons. 1k is a mere thousand. That's nowhere close to how absurdly heavy it has to be.

The Greater grail is somewhere from 831~926 thousand tons.

There can be only one rider.

Besides that, I'm suprised Nasu never used someone like Rani of Jhansi.

Hey now, I for one most definitely respect that Nasu made Saber 12 years old in Garden of Avalon, that Excalibur is meant to destroy TYPES(what?), and that nobody still noticed Saber was a man.

Strange Fake is okay imo, it's utterly ridiculous with an American fanatic wanting to uphold American ideals and justice leading a police force armed with fake noble phantasms on top of having the most insanely powerful servants(Gilgamesh, Enkidu, possibly Esau who is currently fighting Gil and countering sword spam with regular arrows when even Heracles couldn't do that, and possibly a genderbent Jacob), the manifestation of Death and disease, and so on. But the more retardedly extreme the more amusing.

Oh, and Fake servants will be summoned with True servant counterparts.

14 servants again.

Yay???

Yeah I misworded by statement to be 1k. But to be fair there are weight reducing spells and concealing prep stuff, but I do highly doubt anything would be on the scale needed to conceal a million ton object the size of a giant underground cavern.

Oh? Right then. So much for the fleeting interest.

And as to the power creep, oh dear. It doesn't look CCC bad yet, but at this rate it looks like it'll only be a matter of time.
