Better yet, we could eventually unveil ourselves as Jacob. Nobody expects you to lead a double life in order to hide your triple life, after all.
Well, that only goes so far; eventually they come to the conclusion that there's always more layers, and when they start peeling them off they'll eventually reach your real face... and keep on going.

Given the reaction they probably never considered the idea that you might open the lock with any means besides magic.
Both are likely to be true, though; they didn't think it couldn't be opened without magic, then we faked them out and convinced them that we did open it without magic, but really we didn't, our lock-pick was just Ebon, because people can't detect that.

Simple but it moves the plot along nicely. Also, we let a McGuffin loose, whoops.

Well, let's rifle through Lazarus's brain, then see what we can do with the pages. One option, is to convert pages to the book of Ebon as we get them. Or we could wait for all the pages to be collected, then Convert the completed book. Both options draw attention, but converting the complete will be more difficult to hide then a few pages. Also, draining the pages may have unforeseen consequences. We should study them first before absorbing them if we get an opportunity.

Also, Ebon power, still bullshit. Though something tells me the power of friendship is going to be even more so. Let's keep an eye on our growing ranks of heroes we may need to take down one day.

So, you guys thinking new Advisor like I am?

EDIT: Also, I had this amusing idea where we interact with each magical faction under a different persona suited to fit their theme, and eventually once the factions start talking to each other, they come to the 'realization' that there's an evil council wielding some sort of dark powers for nefarious purposes, when in reality each of the 'members' are just us under a different persona

Perhaps, but at the moment, we've actually been helpful to the various hero factions up to now. They may think we're related, but right now, they don't have much reason to go against us. That's actually one of our biggest advantages. This could play out a few different ways. One might be us keeping us this game until we set off the summoning ritual, and find weaknesses to cripple the heroes. Alternatively, depending on how we play, we could wind up being redeemed, and go against the summoning.

This is all long term speculation for now, and is easily subject to change with each turn.

I'm thinking a demonic artefact collector for learning advisor

Ah, Vulgrim. If he was here, we could cut a deal, and have quick and easy transport through the city.

We more fit being the guy who create Kamen Rider. Let's find some scmuck to kidnap and operated on.

We're more Shadowmoon then Great Leader of Shocker. We are the intended product of the conversion process.

Granted, we need to be careful now with any gifts we give out, and ensure that we don't have a Phlebotinum rebel on our hands

"As for Jacob….Hang on a second." With that, Christoph snapped his finger in front of Jacob causing him to slump down unconscious. "And memories erased. While lucky, Jacob here is still a normal person and therefore shouldn't be involved in this kind of stuff. He'll wake up with perhaps a small headache and no recollection of today's events."

"Man, what an asshole. Well, I suppose it can't be helped. Though I have to wonder if Jacob memories can be erased just like that." Ebon had been watching everything that was happening in the shop through the eyes of a Seeker. Christoph's history lesson was quite interesting, to say the least. He'd have to confirm with Evetta later about this Radiant Witch and Grimm Knight. They sounded like folks that the Black Kingdom must have fought with in the past. It didn't help that Jacob got the Heebie Jeebies from the damn book.

In one of his hands was a page that had escaped the confines of the Book of the Radiant.
Asshole indeed. Huh, we need to be careful of that wizard grandpa

I may be going off by instinct right now but i think we should take Jacob's premonition as a sign.

Ah, Vulgrim. If he was here, we could cut a deal, and have quick and easy transport through the city.

Well the Serpent Holes (his method of getting around) are just ancient pathways in another dimension with floating platforms and the occasional tricky jumping puzzle. They aren't Vulgrim's creation, but he discovered how to use them.

Besides knowing him, Vulgrim would metaphorically charge an arm and leg for his services, translating to a large amount of souls to devour and rare artefacts to look at.

Did he get mind wiped or he just faking it kinda want to see the story they come up with.

...Wait... Wait wait wait... Grimoire Grimm... Radiant... I'm pretty sure this is a reference to something specific, but my memories are failing me...

Yeah, I checked that and that didn't seem to be it. It still feels alarmingly familiar though, like it's there on the edge of familiarity...
