The Slave Who Makes Free: An Anakin Skywalker Quest

[X] No…that's not true. That's impossible

I don't even care if you're right, Ferus, and if it had been anybody else I might have been willing to go along with it. But you're being an ass right now and nobody wants to listen to a smug but also sheltered ass.

Going too far on a crusade is one thing. Demanding everyone follow your ideals and being able to enforce it is another.

Tell me again why did we think sparring with Ferrus was a good idea? It just made us more stressed and we don't seem to be getting anything out of it.

On the contrary, I consider this a best case scenario of fighting Ferrus. The truth is out: Ferrus doesn't look down on us, he's scared of us because we're strong, strong on the level that no one can really stop us eventually. And we can be reckless and hotheaded, and if we don't recognize that and learn how to master our own desires, we're the next Sith Lord. Ferrus sees an entire life of ours before his eyes, and we know he's right because it's already happened. And this is a great opportunity for Anakin to recognize that he could become the monster he hates...and he needs to choose not to.

We can kill him early

Internalizing his message ("you know it to be true") might be an absolutely vital lifeline of self-knowledge later. Forget the stress for a second, this is Anakin getting called out on his larval-stage fashy tendencies before they've gotten a chance to really germinate. There's a very important lesson to be learned here.

I don't think it's actually true. Even in canon, Anakin never really considered being the one in charge, just installing someone else. What caused his fall was fear for a handful of loved ones, not ambition to save the galaxy. It's a hit and a miss.

this fits Anakin for many reasons as others have said
and it creates this interesting narrative for Anakin to try to prove to the Jedi that maybe his emotions and motivations aren't all dangerous after
it's similar to the outbursts he had at the council in my opinion

[x] Search your feelings. You know it to be true.
There's something your Amu said to you once…

I am just helping with the "good guy options" at least until somebody hurts Ashoka im front of us at minimum

I guess I just prefer to have more of a buffer for situation, where lives are on the line, like with Grievous.

Edit: Also Ferrus is an arrogant, self-righteous asshole, but instead of Anakin´s charm he has a stick up his ass.
