The Slave Who Makes Free: An Anakin Skywalker Quest

[X] No…that's not true. That's impossible!

I think this is a great time to vent our Stress, actually. That doesn't mean Anakin won't realize it's true - Luke realized the truth after denying it, and so can Anakin. And more importantly, this isn't a life-or-death situation, meaning while it'll cause some hurt feelings, it's safe for Anakin to let his Stress out. Mechanics aside, Anakin is a young kid who's just been accused of being a future tyrant. It's absolutely in character for him to be really super upset about it, and not so much to calmly go into introspection.
I doubt this. This isn't just Anakin's reaction, it's also a choice in a mostly narrative quest. It signals a direction we would like to see the quest follow. While we *might* be able to double back later, I also don't think it's as willy-nilly as that. Anakain would probably have to go through more character development before reaching this same conclusion later. That said, though,

[X] No…that's not true. That's impossible!

I completely agree that this is perfectly in-character for a teenager(or maybe even pre-teen? I'm not sure) receiving this criticism from someone who he hasn't been on good terms with. Anakin isn't an adult yet and he hasn't reached space-nirvana, if he even will. I don't want to play Anakin as someone that always makes the right call just because we as players believe it is the right call make.

Can't decide what I want more: for the decisions to stop being softballs, or for constantly refusing to take bad options to blow up in the thread's face.

[X] Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

I don't think Anakin would turn away from his culture of telling dictators to eat shit and die like that, even if he's an edgy teen

That's honestly even more of a reason for him to go ballistic? As someone who hates tyrants from the bottom of his heart, it makes sense for him to take this as an extremely grave insult, rather than an honest fear Ferus has and that he should consider. How dare he even imply that Anakin would *ever* become a depur?

We know he can, but that must seem impossible to Anakin at this point - it's probably just something Ferus wants to use to hurt him, right?

I understand the accusation, but let's not pretend that "crusader for justice that goes too far" is the same as a cruel tyrant. Yes, that is a type of tyrant, but it's not true that they're the same.

I'm okay with venting some stress over this point. Better here than later when more substantial things hang in the balance.

I like Anakin being anakin, and think having him fail something early could be fun.

This is a pretty important realization for Anakin to make early on. He isn't infallible morally just because of how much he's suffered.

Unrelated to the vote. But it's so nice to see a relatively unknown character from an obscure video game like Star Wars Revenge of the Sith getting to shine; Serra Keto was my damn main alongside Windu back in the day - used to kick my little brothers ass in VS when the little shithead wasn't stunlocking me with Grievous' fucking blaster.

The former is silly, because if you're actually paying attention you'll notice that none of these are softball decisions.

The latter is stupid, because you're being petty for the sake of being petty.

For all we empathize with him, we are not Anakin. If you're going to present a decision where we must knowingly choose to shoot ourselves in the foot, you need to pay us enough to make it worthwhile. And while "I'm going to fuck the players up the ass if you don't shoot yourselves quickly enough for my tastes" is a...eh, decent threat, it's not a good enough payoff for us to risk something like killing a fellow student in a fit of rage.

Which is a very real possibility, because this is the Dark Side we're talking about.
