Well; what an amazing coincidence that we happen to be in the power armor business? Power armor that has thick armor plates made from super-materials that are likely both highly thermally conductive (spread the heat load over a larger area) and possessing of a high heat capacity (harder to heat in the first place).

To be fair the alien perspective isn't exactly wrong. There is a reason the rest of the galaxy call it the Relay 314 Incident (only humans call it the First Contact War). Humanity was violating interstellar law by attempting to open a Relay and the Turians were fulfilling their duty as space cops by stopping them. Then we retaliated and killed the space cops which resulted in space SWAT being deployed at which we (after some struggle) overwhelmed them and forced a retreat. So the space national guard was called in to suppress these dangerous criminals only for the politicians (IE: Asari) to get involved and deescalate the situation.

So humanity starts off being seen as a race of cop killers and criminals. Then we quickly expand and start making wild claims on space despite our tiny population. Seriously Alliance Territory is the same size as Inner Council Space and we are also pushing to claim the Attican Traverse which is somewhat larger then our already claimed territory. All the while the Alliance is building Dreadnoughts as fast as it can afford and pushing the Batarians out of space that was unofficially considered theirs to claim in due time. We are also stirring up the Terminus Systems by harshly punishing pirate raids. Sure the Massacre at Torfan hasn't, and likely won't, happened here but similar things likely have.

Combine all that with the clear xenophobia plenty of humans demonstrate and it is easy to see how such a reputation could form.
 
I can really only see Revy choosing to take to the field if the situation were dire or she had been recruited by a Specter to take on an incredibly important task.

Revy's biggest weakness is her lack of experience. The collector that fought her before was essentially winning due to her superior fire power missing.

The thing is humans shouldn't have been subjected to a law that they themselves aren't aware of and haven't signed off on. That's pretty much an exuse for the terians to gain a client race while everyones backs were turned. Whatever first contact that the council has drawn up can't be that.

Edit: I am wondering if the Salarians have backdoors in omnitools like the Reapers do to most cycle tech. Omnitools were created by them and it would make sense.

No one disagrees that the Turian thing was handled badly by the Turian officers that lead the operation. The Asari and Salarian's immediately got involved because they definitely did not agree with how the Turians were handling that. Doesn't change the fact that humanity as a whole did overreact considering the only around 3-400 hundred actually dead thing.
 
I think showing the Nazi face to the galaxy afterwards exacerbated everything as well.

Though now humans probably look like spastic, obsessive, over the top, balls to the wall, there's no brakes on the crazy train types. It's not that we're inherently violent, it's that we have no chill.
 
Besides the fact Revy is a strategic asset she is also a civilian.

Sure we have the best suit of power armor in the galaxy but Revy has minimal experience and almost no training. She isn't some super-geninus soldier. Her hyper-competence (and probably plug and play skills) means she manages a C-Rank in Personal Combat which (glancing through things) seems about the level of a seasoned (but otherwise ordinary) soldier. She isn't even your "basic" N7/Spectre tier (Elite).

The combat modifiers chart shows the difference quite clearly. Experimental tech (IE: Revy's suit) gets +80 and her probable skill level (Seasoned) gets +20 for a total of +100. Meanwhile an N7 in Cutting Edge (IE: Legionaries) gets +40 from the armor and +50 from their skill for a total of +90. So in a one on one fight Revy would have a slight advantage but there is also only one Revy and even a Slight Numerical Advantage provides +10 and levels the playing field.



TL ; DR - Interstellar war is a numbers game. Lone superheroes don't matter. There is a reason the Mass Effect games never had you fight on the frontlines of a Geth invasion or Reaper attack. Instead Shepard went on commando raids to gain tactical and strategic advantages that let the real troops win, or at least lose less, the battles.

Honestly, the constant stream of "Revy revolutionized another thing" reports is getting a bit dull to read. Revy needs a break from this to blow up stuff that's socially acceptable to blow up.

We can help the alliance more with our science. Besides, our gen 3 arc reactor might get revealed too soon if we use our suit.

I don't get the people who are so eager to throw a scientist into the frontlines, like, that's such a terrible idea it's not even funny.
 
Because there's a strong undercurrent of "we must be exactly like Tony Stark" that keeps turning up at the worst moments.
