-[X] Diplomacy/Subversion: Leveraging our Position
--[X] Pay a visit to Thalya in person, don't be afraid to come off as a little smug, give the report and all of that business, and give the implications that while you may not have found the grand prize, you've found enough little bits and bobs so far to help refine your own understanding of some of the fundaments, and there's still plenty left to look into. Afterwards, go spend some time canvassing the Cogitae (While also making sure you clean up Thalya's latest attempt to track you down), and drop a few insights of your studies in too--such as the designs for your civilian augments, which if Anexa's response was any indication, should be a major carrot and a sign that what you're doing is a worthy task. While this is going on, touch base with some of the more... Committed acolytes, and make sure they get any tools they'll need for the plan of defanging the current regime. (Thalya Report mixed with further supporting and tossing incentives in to the Cogitae Exploratrum, with little carrots here and there to help encourage them, like our studies on optimized civilian augmetics and--perhaps our neural augments, presuming this doesn't get vetoed by one of our advisors, maybe the odd bit of useful gear too, we do have an extra budget for this now).

[X]Plan Oi,Let Her Cook

Really unsure what the actual plan is for people who think they are going to "deal with" the admechs on turn 13. How is the confrontation going to be triggered, how is it going to be kept limited, how are we going to take over/kill the enclaves, what are we going to do to purge the loyalists in the aftermath?

It feels like jumping from "and now we can survive their attacks" to "we can start and win a war" with a few too few steps in between.

[X] Plan: The Robot-Satan-Snake In The Garden

I think I like all the (serious) plans over all but the idea of not having the extra layers of protection provided by the orbital defenses makes me nervous for some reason, so I have to listen to my gut.

Bedsides, if they end up being redundant, we can leave them here to be used by Aevon, gods know they need every advantage they can get to survive this clusterfuck of a sector.

I mean if they don't have strategic weapons and we have endless armies of robots there is only one way this can go. This whole war is rocket tag because against Vita the ad mech can either commit to total destruction or be destroyed by attrition (we could also nuke them ourselves, but that's more messy than it has to be).

Plus, keep in mind that everyone in the Admech younger that ~150 years old is a post revolution local recruit. Sure, they've been pretty consistently shut out of the higher echelons of power by the old guard, and admech education undoubtedly does its best to otherize the common Denvan but that sort of thing has its limits.

I'm not saying we should kill all of them, obviously we have people on the inside on our side already, just that once those WMDs are off the table we have won the war, all that is left to do in make the enclaves realize that fact. Some will die, some will surrender, but regardless the conclusion is foregone

Some quick and messy thoughts:
  • I am extremely opposed to not putting missiles up into orbit this turn. While it's good to be prepared for other scenarios, the killsats are still our primary threat, and should be treated as such.
  • One less lance in favor of a jammer bank makes sense to me. Two lances under a void shield can win against multiple ships, and a jammer could make it harder for a scouting vessel to flee and call for reinforcements.
    • The jammer also improves our lot against the killsats, which are still the primary concern.
  • On free lookup: Neablis said we could do one or two, so we can look up House Klyssar and the look up the mystery space stations. We don't have to choose between them.
  • Our ideal victory condition against the admech is a takeover by the cogitare with the fully inducted as the real power behind the throne - a position from which we can sculpt the culture further to our liking.
    • What this means is that any hacking beyond what is needed to guarantee the success of our killsat measures...
      • First should go towards further accellerating the size and influence of the cogitare
      • Second should go towards subverting internal security.
Will pop in to see how the vote is doing and make my picks later, seems like things are still being revised right now. Gotta go, bye

Personally, while I'm not married to the idea of executing on 13, my plan is this:
1. Cause a schism within the Ad-mech to distract and tie up a lot of forces in the confusion
2. Take out the kill-sats in one decisive action, and ensure their stockpile of nukes is in one way or another unavailable, either through hacking or having the subverted ad-mech do it manually
3. Have the local governments support this new more friendly ad-mech faction with ground forces and logistical support and maybe a few shiny new "skitari" drones from us
4. Profit

Wait - wouldn't Plan Oi,let her cook" guarantee we'd immediately start an existential war with the enclaves, as the diplomatic action to tell Thalya "everything we've been constructing and researching over the years" seems to imply Vita would tell Thalya about all the heretekical research, countermeasures we've been developing to counter the Mechancius WMDs, pristine (albeit outdated) STC we've been using for construction and research as well as all the infrastructure and information we've been providing Aevon, not to mention quite likely all but certainly indicating we are in fact an AI?

Any one of these revelations would almost certainly trigger war, all together would be nearly impossible to diffuse without several natural crits in a row.

I'm just worried that your voted Plan is likely to cause the opposite outcome to what you're initially concerned about, and immediately trigger all out war before we are ready.

I've been wondering, how effective will our machine spirit hacking be against the other civs in the sector? Obviously there is the space marine chapter that definitely has some, and the tyranid splinter fleet that definitely has none, but will it be able to work on different forms of technology, or will it be limited for use purely against human tech? If it is, will we be able to adapt it in some way?

We still have to win a long, grinding ground war in this scenario, unless we plan and position a decapitation strike on all the authority figures which would resist us. Which we would, of course, need to have already identified.

They don't know we are an AI. They don't know they will lose by attrition. It will have to be demonstrated, and that's likely to take a very long time and destroy a lot of collateral.

So I am worried about the gap between us knowing we cannot lose and them not knowing that. We can do better.

As an aside, the reason I voted for the PM research plan is that I think our subversions are going well, we are not in danger of being attacked without warning, and we really should resolve those things before we leave the planet. I don't expect to win, but it's a directional vote.

Finally caught up! Very fun, though I am sad as always that SV never picks any chaos or chaos adjacent options, ideal in my mind would have been a heretical iconoclastic world or a friendly warp entity since I know SV will never pick chaos

On a related subject I think we should turn off our blocker thing and try and make some friends. fully serious on this I think it would be good and nice and also let us meet up with other anti imperial forces

Edit: grrr I can't type a :.) without the period or it turns into an emoji

If by long and grinding you mean 1 turn. They can barely repair their own low imperial tech, we can turn rocks into plasma weapons on mass. It is hard to put into words how screwed the enclaves would be at that point and they would know it. Anyone who values their own life more than dogma would be tempted to surrender and as for the ones who don't... well that's on them.

I mean, the QM said that with the forces we have, we have good odds of winning against the Enclaves conventionally. We just need to start flooding them with medium-heavy bots and we'll win eventually. Of course, that wouldn't be the most efficient option and would likely destroy lots of infrastructure we could use, which is why we should continue our subversions to ferment an insurgency so we can go in and assist.

I would assume that the answer is "yes" to some degree if they use machine spirit / neural network equivalent's that the mechanicus uses. And "no" if they don't have much in common.

And in both cases, you would likely still need to adapt to the differences, just to a lesser degree if there is already similarities.

The answer to where this applies (if my guess is correct in the first place? Go see for ourselves. Because Vita currently has no way of knowing it.

...Except maybe when it comes to Orks. Those she would have already run into and have experience with.
