Viva la Revolución: An Experimental Quest in Revolutionary Mexico

[X] The Third Republic of the Yucatan. Finally united, the Third Republic stands as the one true representative of the Mayan people!
[X] la Sur - From Oaxaca to Chiapas, this is a region of biodiversity, white sand beaches, and hot blooded politics. Separatist ideals haven't left the cultural memory, nor the discontent of it. The south is the den of the Zapatistas for now.
[X] No
[X] Yes -
Separates the region between the respective caudillos (Villistas, Magonistas, Huertistas, etc...)
[X] The United States - This is craziness. Bandits? Socialists? Anarchists? Time to stop this matter on our border.

[X] la Metrodad - The heart of Mexico, it is the city of Mexico and it's surrounding environs. Home of the rich, the poor, and the entitled, it is the most populated bastion of support, but at the wiles of whomever has the ears of the mover and shakers, both high and low. Home of el Profiriato

Shall the Zapatistas and Third Republic of the Yucatan go to war? [X] Yes

The Bandits and Anarchists occupy wide swaths of Mexico, shall a distinction be made between them? [X] No

Who shall intervene into the war?
[X] The Internationale - We fight for a freer Mexico, no matter where we come from. Viva el Internationale!

March 1911
March 1911
"Viva la Internationale
"

Red: El Porfiriato
Pink: Las Zapatistas
Green: Third Republic of the Yucatan
Yellow: Magonistas
Light Blue: Villistas
Dark Blue: Orozquistas
Grey: Disputed
The march of the International would have immense repercussions on the direction of the Mexican Revolution. Declaring their intent for Presidente Zapata, volunteers from across the globe flocked to his banner. This allowed a push by Zapata against the Orozquistas (followers of Pascaul Orozco, former follower of Madero) to reach and take the heart of the Metrodad, alongside the state of Puebla. This victory would be commemorated by a parade and the official 'election' of Emiliano as Presidente. His official decree would be the recognition of "... their brothers in arms across the Yucatan." A non-aggression pact between Presidentes Zapata and Kabil would be signed later in the week. The Yucatan, for all intents and purposes, had received their independence.

This wasn't the only surprise by the Internationale however, as a surprise landing in the state of Tamaulipas and seizing the Porfiriato held municipality of Soto la Marina would shock the dying state apparatus of the beleaguered President Porfirio. Whilst the international brigades sang and drank happily at their initial successes, the international community was shocked about the continued success of socialists and anarchists.

While the south reveled in their outcomes, the bonds between the Magnon brothers and caudillo Villa frayed to the point of no return. Primarily over the control of the Isla del Tiburón, the Magnon brothers declared that a true revolution can never succeed when individuals like the caudillo lead the lumpenproletariat into a socially unconscious reality. Basing their objections in revolutionary thought, the break of the two major powers in the North left the United States weary and the Porfriato breathing a sigh of relief. Perhaps the intervention of the Internationale could allow the possibility of another, more regime friendly, intervention on the behalf of the regime.

Mexico spins rapidly, who will win? You decide!

~ ~ ~ ~
It is April of 1911, Mexico erupted into armed discontent.
Who do you support?

[] The Porfiriato. The President has ruled since '84, why should we turn against him now? Viva el Porfirio, Viva la Republica!
[] The Zapatistas. The rich have dominated Mexico for too long, let bring forth a truly peasant solution to us all!
Igualdad y libertad!

[] The Villistas. By the strength of caudilla Villa we will prevail!
[] The Magnonistas. True freedom occurs solely in an anarchist state, the revolution must be brought further in Mexico!
[] The Orozquistas. Mexico has gone mad! Someone needs to stop it and bring order to this land!

However who you are isn't the only question brought before you. Where you are is equally important.

Where is your support?

[] el Norte -
The deserts and mountains of the north hide hardy farmers, squalid forts, and banditos. From la Baja to Chihuahua and Sonora, these lands are the most difficult to take and difficult to lose. Land is often concentrated in the hands of titled aristocrats and their haciendas. Home of numerous factions.
[] la Centro - Heartland of Mexico's agriculture, the haciendas rule the roost and the peasanos do all the work for the privilege of living in a room. To feed or not to feed, that is the question, however this region is hard to swap, as the enfiefed ideals of colonial Mexico are still strong here. Last holdout of the Porfiriato.
[] la Metrodad - The heart of Mexico, it is the city of Mexico and it's surrounding environs. Home of the rich, the poor, and the entitled, it is the most populated bastion of support, but at the wiles of whomever has the ears of the mover and shakers, both high and low. Home of the Orozquistas and controlled in part by the Zapatistas.
[] la Sur - From Oaxaca to Chiapas, this is a region of biodiversity, white sand beaches, and hot blooded politics. Separatist ideals haven't left the cultural memory, nor the discontent of it. The south is the den of the Zapatistas for now.

Who shall intervene into the war?

[] The United States -
This is craziness. Bandits? Socialists? Anarchists? Time to stop this matter on our border.
[] Guatemala - Chiapas is ours, now is our chance!
[] Write In - Someone else is needed to intervene!
[] No One - Mexican Wars for Mexicans!

With the Maya having their success and no enemies, I see no reason to add them into the vote.
