Viva la Revolución: An Experimental Quest in Revolutionary Mexico

[X] The Magnonistas - True freedom occurs solely in an anarchist state, the revolution must be brought further in Mexico!
[X] el Norte - The deserts and mountains of the north hide hardy farmers, squalid forts, and banditos. From la Baja to Chihuahua and Sonora, these lands are the most difficult to take and difficult to lose. Land is often concentrated in the hands of titled aristocrats and their haciendas. Home of numerous factions.
[X] Write In - Imperial Germany
[X] The United States NO -
We have defeated the enemy at our gates, that is enough for now.
[X] The International YES - The International will never give up on their fellows!
[X] Write in - Monarchists coup the Porfiratio in order to restore the old Mexican Empire!

[X] The Orozquistas. Mexico has gone mad! Someone needs to stop it and bring order to this land!

"Viva Emperor Agustín II
"

Dark Blue: Orozquistas
The American intervention into Mexico was suffering from unwanted mission creep. The initial goal of casting the bandits of Villa off of the American border was met, however as the Porfiriato proved itself increasingly incompetent the Americans found themselves increasingly drawn into the brunt of the Mexican Civil War. Despite pleas from Profirio to the contrary, the American Congress ordered the expedition to return to American soil after only a couple months, confident in the regime's ability to maintain the gains achieved by the American cavalry.

Sadly for them, this would not be the case whatsoever. The Magnonistas, inspired by their success in southern Sonora, launched another offensive. Relying on the liberation of peasants into communes and the establishment of anarchistic governmental principles throughout the lands they gained, the people rose in the west against the Porfiriato. The remnants of Sonora and northern Sinoloa, as well as the state of Chihuahua all fell in a surprisingly quick campaign as the Porfiriato garrisons seemed to dissolve in front of the Magnonista mobs. This would be the final straw both within the remaining population under the Porfiriato and Porfirio's main generals.

To the surprise of both, concurrent coups were initiated. The first was a popular revolution, funded by the Internationale, to install Zapatistas within positions of power and cut off the head of the Porfiriato. The second was the importation of a single individual from Washington D.C. General Porfirio received two reports on his desk on the 19th of June. The first was that throughout the south of his remaining lands, governors were being deposed by mobs of Zapatista origins. The second was his dismissal as President of Mexico and his arrest as a fugitive of the Third Empire of Mexico. His Imperial Highness, Agustín II, was coronated hastily in Monterrey the previous day. General Porfirio was marched out to a gaol following reading these reports. The Porfiriato was no more.

Alas, this would not be the last of the news which shook Mexico. The pro-intervention faction within the German cabinet utilised this Imperial formation to apply further pressure upon the Kaiser to intervene. Although he continued to doubt, a much needed push came from the Austro-Hungarian ambassador to Germany, who hinted that His Imperial and Royal Highness would be most grateful should the Germans intervene on behalf of poor Maximilian's adopted son and one true heir to the Mexican throne.

Thus, on the 29th of June, the SMS Westfalen docked off of Matamoros, only a couple miles off the American border. The United States was in an uproar over this foreign intervention, the second in fifty years, while the Zapatistas saw the sovereignty of an independent Mexico once again under threat by a German influenced monarch.

Mexico spins even more rapidly, who will win? Can there be a winner? You decide!

~ ~ ~ ~
It is July of 1911, Mexico erupted into armed discontent.
Who do you support?

[] The Third Empire of Mexico. His Imperial Highness returns! Viva Agustin! Viva la Emperor!
[] The Zapatistas. The rich have dominated Mexico for too long, let bring forth a truly peasant solution to us all!
Igualdad y libertad!
[] The Magnonistas. True freedom occurs solely in an anarchist state, the revolution must be brought further in Mexico!
[] The Orozquistas. Mexico has gone mad! Someone needs to stop it and bring order to this land!

However who you are isn't the only question brought before you. Where you are is equally important.

Where is your support?

[] el Norte -
The deserts and mountains of the north hide hardy farmers, squalid forts, and banditos. From la Baja to Chihuahua and Sonora, these lands are the most difficult to take and difficult to lose. Land is often concentrated in the hands of titled aristocrats and their haciendas. Home of the Magnonistas.
[] la Centro - Heartland of Mexico's agriculture, the haciendas rule the roost and the peasanos do all the work for the privilege of living in a room. To feed or not to feed, that is the question, however this region is hard to swap, as the enfiefed ideals of colonial Mexico are still strong here. Current battleground of the Civil War.
[] la Metrodad - The heart of Mexico, it is the city of Mexico and it's surrounding environs. Home of the rich, the poor, and the entitled, it is the most populated bastion of support, but at the wiles of whomever has the ears of the mover and shakers, both high and low. Home of the Orozquistas and controlled in part by the Zapatistas.
[] la Sur - From Oaxaca to Chiapas, this is a region of biodiversity, white sand beaches, and hot blooded politics. Separatist ideals haven't left the cultural memory, nor the discontent of it.

Who shall intervene into the war?

[] Guatemala -
Chiapas is ours, now is our chance!
[] The United States - Germans and Anarchists? This is enough.
[] Write In - Someone else is needed to intervene!
[] No One - Mexican Wars for Mexicans!

Shall these interveners continue to spend their valuable time and resources in Mexico?

[] Imperial Germany YES -
Our brother Emperor needs help, time to bring out the might of the German Empire.
[] Imperial Germany NO - This is a waste of time and effort. Agustin will be left to fend for himself.

[] The International YES - The International will never give up on their fellows!
[] The International NO - The International has given up on their fellows!

I'm just imaging President Taft was at his desk when he heard news that Imperial Germany was throwing it's hat into the ring. And then there was a long pause, followed by a string of near deafening cruses.

In the grim future of the 19th century, there is only war. Lets get the germans nice and dug in before we call in the United States again. This is the optimal route to WW1: North American edition.

Although if we could get the USA and Austria-Hungary to intervene in the same turn, I'd be for it.
