September saw the expansion of the Mexican Crisis, as the Prime Minister of the British Empire, in a dictate flanked by the signatures of the French and American Presidents, demanded the German Empire withdraw from the Republic of Mexico and return to Germany.

Willy refused.

A small squadron of allied ships, comprised British, French, and American vessels, confronted the SMS Westfalen off the Mexican coast and fired. Over the next 25 minutes, shells launched from numerous dreadnoughts and pre-dreadnought battleships hit into the SMS Westfalen, which desperately tried to respond. The sailors of the Kriegsmarine were admirable in their efforts, as they managed to strike a French and a British vessel to the degree wherein the surprised French crew began to experience and untoward list. Alas, the SMS Westfalen was no match for the many ships which it faced, and struck colours following a minor explosion towards the aft marked the end of one of the primary cannon.

The SMS Westfalen was left to sink while it's sailors were rescued and brought to an impromptu prisoner of war camp in Louisiana. Furthermore a blockade was enacted, as American ships patrolled the Caribbean in a steel warning against Germanic incursions. Across Europe diplomats flailed. Russian diplomats spoke to French, Austrians and Romanians spoke to German. Worries of a war, one so large it could span the world, spread across the capitals.

Alas, none of that affected Mexico, as the war continued. The loss of German support meant that the battleships' fire support was no longer available, and the German marines were increasingly stranded in a strange land. This was further shook as a Zapatistan offensive to the south reclaimed significant portions of the states of San Luis Potosi and Veracruz. The Empire, viewed so strong only a couple months ago, seemed increasingly fragile. These doubts were only mitigated slightly when the offensive into Zacatecas gained headaway across the front.

To the realm of the Magnonistas, the anarchist brothers decided on a gambit. Understanding that their forces were primarily in the states of Chihuahua and Sonora, they gambled that this was the location that they would fight to the end. This seemed initially successful, as the Magnonistas managed to push back American pickets through quick and violent warfare.

This gamble however saw necessary consequences, as the Free Republic of Lower California secured the state of Baja California Sur without much ado. Given the Magnonistas took everything no nailed down, the state almost served as a detriment to the newest breakaway republic of Mexico.

Across Mexico, it became increasingly obvious that the second phase of the Mexican Civil War was drawing to a crescendo. Furthermore, the war which was once the talk of coffee shops of the rich and pampered became increasingly forgotten. Wherein university students once placed bets on what would occur on the map of Mexico, it became more common for these bets to be placed on the map of Europe. Those that weren't signing up at their local recruiter that is.

Again, y'all cray.

Mexico is still off the rails, out of the gorge, and somewhere in the pits of hell. What's next to come?

~ ~ ~ ~
It is October of 1911, Mexico erupted into armed discontent.
Who do you support?

[] The Third Empire of Mexico. His Imperial Highness returns! Viva Agustin! Viva la Emperor!
[] The Zapatistas. The rich have dominated Mexico for too long, let bring forth a truly peasant solution to us all!
Igualdad y libertad!
[] The Magnonistas. True freedom occurs solely in an anarchist state, the revolution must be brought further in Mexico!
[] The Free Republic of Lower California. Why not? There's money to be made.
[] The Americans. This nonsense needs to come to an end, America is the only power that will dictate terms to Mexico.

However the civil war has expanded wildly outside the initial imaginations of those that started it. Generals, Caudillos, Mob leaders where will the next offensive be launched?

Where will you attack?

[] el Norte -
The deserts and mountains of the north hide hardy farmers, squalid forts, and banditos. From la Baja to Chihuahua and Sonora, these lands are the most difficult to take and difficult to lose. Land is often concentrated in the hands of titled aristocrats and their haciendas. Home of the Magnonistas.
[] la Centro - Heartland of Mexico's agriculture, the haciendas rule the roost and the peasanos do all the work for the privilege of living in a room. To feed or not to feed, that is the question, however this region is hard to swap, as the enfiefed ideals of colonial Mexico are still strong here. Current battleground of the Civil War.
[] la Metrodad - The heart of Mexico, it is the city of Mexico and it's surrounding environs. Home of the rich, the poor, and the entitled, it is the most populated bastion of support, but at the wiles of whomever has the ears of the mover and shakers, both high and low. Home of the many trenches.

Shall more intervene into the war?

[] Guatemala -
Chiapas is ours, now is our chance!
[] Write In - France, Austria, Russia, et al are off limits. Reasonable countries and/or factions are fair game.
[] No One - Mexican Wars for Mexicans!

Shall the interveners continue to spend their valuable time and resources in Mexico?

[] The International YES -
The International will never give up on their fellows!
[] The International NO - The International has given up on their fellows!

~ ~ ~
German support taken out because they have bigger things to worry about. Same with the Great Powers.

Zapatistas, Magnonistas and all others who oppose the Third Empire of Mexico, now is the time to strike! The Empire has lost the support of the Germans and is vulnerable! Let us defeat the tyrany of Agustin, and return this war to a war for the sake of Mexico!

Igualdad y libertad! Viva la revolución!

there is no moratorium soooo.

The Magonistas must unite with the Zapatistas! They won't be able to win on their own and together they can push the imperialists out of Mexico!

@Dadarian Where exactly is most of the fighting between the Empire and Zapatistas taking place, la Centro or la Metrodad?

Dadarian, is this write-in valid?

EDIT:Zapatans, if this write-in is valid, we should change our votes to support it! For it will be a great boon for both us and the Magnonistas!

Yup

So just what is lower California supposed to be? It sounds like they are capitalists who decided to carve out their own personal fiefdom, but I'm not sure.

Let's see if we can keep the German cause alive, I don't want them off the board just yet.
