Viva la Revolución: An Experimental Quest in Revolutionary Mexico

[X] The Zapatistas. The rich have dominated Mexico for too long, let bring forth a truly peasant solution to us all! Igualdad y libertad!
[X] el Norte - The deserts and mountains of the north hide hardy farmers, squalid forts, and banditos. From la Baja to Chihuahua and Sonora, these lands are the most difficult to take and difficult to lose. Land is often concentrated in the hands of titled aristocrats and their haciendas. Home of numerous factions.
[X] The United States - Germans and Anarchists? This is enough.
[X] Imperial Germany YES - Our brother Emperor needs help, time to bring out the might of the German Empire.
[X] The International YES - The International will never give up on their fellows!

Yes. The old Mayan gods desire more blood sacrifices.

The old Mayan gods won't be desiring anything after the Third Republic of Yucatan gets subjucated by international forces that want to occupy all of Mexico. The more nations involved in this war, the more likely it is that the Third Republic of Yucatan is going to be occupied and that I will not allow.

Well on the other hand if we get the French involved then there is a fair chance that this will set off world war 1 early. Not that I would complain if it did.

I see no reason as to why we SHOULD SET OFF World War 1 early. It will only bring pain and misery to all of Mexico!
What we should do is smash the Third Empire of Mexico as fast as possible, which should force the Germans to leave, have the Americans leave and then have Zapata sweep up what remains of the Orozquistas and the Magnonistas so that we can end this revolution already and have a new and better Mexico.

Well I love schadenfreude, Also I'm against the Zapata although I'm not really all that for the Third Empire either. I'm more hoping the United States will take over parts of Mexico. Like the Baja California Peninsula for example.

On the one hand, I agree with you.

On the other hand, end of Civil War means end of the quest, and that would be sad.

Therefore - let the madness continue!

Clearly, we need to grant support to the various factions individually with the strength depending on the number of votes they get, turning this into a true riot civil war quest.

The Zapatistas and Magonistas should work together against the imperialist pigs!

Also, the Yucatan Republic should help the Zapatistas or the imperials will target them next.

[X] la Centro - Heartland of Mexico's agriculture, the haciendas rule the roost and the peasanos do all the work for the privilege of living in a room. To feed or not to feed, that is the question, however this region is hard to swap, as the enfiefed ideals of colonial Mexico are still strong here. Current battleground of the Civil War.
[X] Guatemala - Chiapas is ours, now is our chance!
[X] Imperial Germany NO - This is a waste of time and effort. Agustin will be left to fend for himself.
[X] The International YES - The International will never give up on their fellows!

Honestly I think the third Empire is the best bet. Think about it. Bismarckian Social Reform plus much needed stability.

I must point out that you are severly underestimating the possibility of Imperial Germany turning the Third Empire of Mexico into its puppet and treat Mexicans as second-rate citizen that don't have as many rights as a German would have, especially since Austro-Hungary may also get involved in this war.
In order of making things better for Mexcio (from best to worst): Zapatistas >= Orozquistas > United States >> Third Empire of Mexico >> Magnonistas.

[X] The Magnonistas. True freedom occurs solely in an anarchist state, the revolution must be brought further in Mexico!

[X] Write In - Austria-Hungary - We must send aid to our Mexican brothers-in-arms in their righteous battle for Mexico!

Magnonistas, Orozquistas, Zapatistas. We may all have our differences, but at core, each of these factions seeks to make Mexico a better place, in their own way. However, all of our hopes and dreams are under threat by a resurgent Empire of Mexico, backed by Imperial Germany.

If any of us belonging to any of the three factions I've mentioned in the begining do not want the Third Empire of Mexico to thrive, I ask of you to vote so that Imperial Germany does not get involved anymore with the Third Empire of Mexico and to vote for an American intervention. The Americans will come from North, right where the Empire of Mexico is and will most likely wipe out the empire from the face of Mexico in a few turns. After that, we can return back to our status-quo of fighting to decide the fate of Mexico, but as it stands, the Third Empire of Mexico is a danger to all of us!

Magnonistas, Orozquistas, Zapatistas. We must unite as one and stop Emperor Agustin and the forces of Imperial Germany, for the sake of all of Mexico!

Igualdad y libertad! Viva la revolución!

Third Republic of the Yucatan | Domestic Overview C. ~1911
Third Republic of the Yucatan
Domestic Overview C. ~1911
History: The Third Republic of the Yucatan (Henceforth Yucatan) is a nascent democratic state that exists on the Yucatan Peninsula. Born of a rebellion by Mayan farmers and peasants who sought to remove the yoke of Mexican control, they were surprisingly successful in their efforts. The weakness of the Porfiriato, combined with the positive apathy of Emiliano Zapata, allowed the Yucatan to establish and entrench themselves in a way that promoted state-building.

This united state-building effort only came about due to the cathartic, blood, and brief civil strife which erupted across the peninsula in late 1910, which saw both rabid theocrats and anarchist elements removed from mainstream political life. This left the Mayan people with a single viable political tool, democracy. The months following the end of the three-way anarchy saw the development of a currency, taxation and police organisations, and court houses across the villages of the Yucatan.

Seen as an ally in which to oppose Guatemalan desires, Nicuragua and the British Parliament both have formally recognised the Yucatan as an independent polity. Elections, both for the house and the presidency, are expected by early 1912. For many Maya, the future looks optimistic, even while bloodshed continues to occur to their far north.

Government: Presidential unicameral republic.

Population: ~3 million.

Head of Government: Speaker Atl Taiyal
Head of State: Presidente Ikal Kabil
