The Queen's Blessing

Hyacinth had to move fast. Envy was toying with Liri, but that wouldn't last long. When she had been attacked earlier it was around the fountain, even when the first Void attacked her it was near the fountain. Hyacinth was positive that the core was near. Envy had even pulled itself out of the fountain and while they were fighting it never moved far from it.
When Nys had taken her into the small forest the void didn't follow. It used its limbs to attack them instead. Hyacinth ran along the perimeter of the fountain inspecting it as fast as she could. There was nothing out of the ordinary. It was strange that she couldn't find the core. It had to be here it was the only logical reason the void was so protective of the fountain.
She sprinted back to the front of the fountain and saw that Envy was going to attack. She held out her wand and quickly ordered the wind. "Pierce!"
The invisible force shot through the monster leaving a sizable hole. It would take it a few minutes to regain its form. Taking those precious seconds Hyacinth looked up at the statue. Nys had jumped up to save herself earlier, even when she was in pain because of the void she noticed how quickly it acted once Nys reached a certain height.
Hyacinth looked up at the statue. The core had to be there. She started running toward the statue, leaped up and spoke, "Assist."
An upward breeze assisted her in reaching her destination. The top of the statue. Hyacinth landed gently on the head of the statue. On top of the statue's crown sat the core. A rather large orb that had a deep purple aura.
"This must be it," she said going over to the core. Nys had wanted to go a peaceable route with the void but that didn't seem possible. If they were uncontrollable, they had to be stopped. Nys probably understood that now. They were queens, they had to protect their subjects from the mindless creatures that were the voids.
"Shatter," Hyacinth ordered just as Envy realized that she was there. The scream from the void was full of anger and agony as the core shattered to pieces. Hyacinth thought it was over, but the broken core revealed a young girl no more than twelve years old.
"It wasn't fair… we didn't do anything wrong."
"You were inside of that core?" Hyacinth asked surprised to see the girl.
"You're just like them."
"Wait? What are you talking about? Just like who. Why were you inside that?" Hyacinth stepped forward suddenly confused. Nys didn't say anything about a person being in the core.
"A murde—" the girl stopped short as blood began to pour from cracks forming in her skin. Hyacinth put her hand to her mouth as she realized what she had just done.
Hyacinth turned away as the inevitable happened. The girl shattered just like the core. She didn't look back at the scene. She couldn't allow herself to be swayed. She had done what needed to be done. She jumped down to where Liri sat with Nys. The breeze that took her up gently sat her down as well, "Is she okay?"
"She needs healing." Liri said watching as the woman faded in and out of consciousness, "You are the Queen of the Silver Wind, I bestow upon you the name Ventus. Now that you have your proper name you need to heal Nys. To do this you have to open your sacred palace. You already understand what I mean don't you?"
Hyacinth was surprised with herself. As soon as the words left Liri's mouth she understood what he meant. It was like someone had flipped a switch in her mind. She closed her eyes and searched for the knowledge that was suddenly given to her.
Her palace was easy to find. It was a place hidden away in her soul. Accessing it was like breathing and though it was easy to reach, the secrets store away in it were not. Except she knew what she was there for. She needed to heal Nys and Liri knew that she could, so she kept Nys as her focus. Soon words came to her mind and she spoke them immediately.
"Spring Breeze," she uttered as she held her wand up to the sky. Opening her eyes, she saw golden particles floating around Nys. The golden light landed on her skin and her deathly pale skin returned to its normal tone. The bleeding stopped and Nys finally relaxed, falling into a deep slumber.
"I should have made it clear," Liri said looking at the restored woman.
"She's okay?"
"Yes, it wasn't a full restoration, but she'll be fine in a couple of days. For now, we need to move her to her home without getting caught by her brother." Liri gently patted Nys' bangs with an unreadable expression. Hyacinth didn't know the doll well, but it seemed out of character for him to be so caring.
"Liri—"
"We should go," Liri said looking over to Hyacinth. She wanted to ask the doll about the expression, but she didn't think it was a good time. She simply nodded and went over to Nys holding her wand over her. "Rise."
Nys was gently lifted off the ground and then they began the trek back to the woman's home.

Because much as I just want to say "Yes", since saving people is usually how you get the Best Ending... Some idea of what's going on would be good. Though I'm unsure if this counts as "Undecided" or automatically picks Yes/No anyways.

Here is some information about some terms I have yet to really explain and some deeper info on things that I have explained.
You don't have to read but if you're interested in how the world works this is helpful. It will be updated as terms come up. If there is anything you think I'm missing just let me know and I'll add it.
I went by what has been revealed to reader rather than Nys because Nys really is behind on her knowledge intake. Some terms are for future update and will not have definition included.
Also, there is some information that is already in profiles but I added it here as well. Kind of a way to compile everything learned. And keep me from getting confused.

Abhorrent Paradise: a pocket dimension where the Queen of Illacrimina is imprisoned. It is a beautiful place with a peaceful forest and neverending sunlight. Liri also called it a white void.
Alkren: (To be Added)
Aquai Town: a resort town on the coast. It is known for its sleepless tourist sites. It also has a similar crest to Aquinnia.
Aquinnia: a kingdom from the original Elemencia. It was the first to make contact with Illacrimina.
Awakening: Since most of the queens were put to sleep they have to awaken again. This process can happen two ways. The first is for the queen to regain memories of her past. This can happen by similar events happening to her or by being around a Queen that is already awakened. Especially a queen that she has been around a lot or had a close relationship.
The second method is the one Liri uses. It involves forcibly making the queen realized what she is. He is able to do that because of his Queen.
Celestria City: A huge city in the country of Cestria. It is home to the prestigious University Luxarc. The city is known for its many landmarks, some that seem to clash.
Circlet: (To be Added)
Core: a core is found in every creature in Elemencia. It is what allows them to use Kren. Each person's core is different and depending on their place of birth they lean towards that kingdom's element.
Depending on how a core is corrupted a person can become a Void or something else.
Elemencia: The world in which the story takes place. It is also the name of the planet. Elemencia is a planet that has a strange power source known as Kren. This power was used to reshape the planet after an incident.
Elemencia's Queens: The rulers of Elemencia. Each queen controls an element and keeps Elemencia at peace.
Escha: (To be Added)
Fifth Affliction: a broadsword that Nys is able to summon. It has a golden colored metal and a glass-like blade. There also exist another identical sword in Luxarc University.
Illacrimina: a kingdom from the original Elemencia. It's entire populace was transformed into Void after an incident.
Mark of the Queen: the keyhole shape mark that appear on either the left or right wrist. It appears when a Queen has fully awakened or in the process of doing so.
Kren: the life force of Elemencia. This is the strange power source found throughout all of Elemencia. To some extent it can be manipulated by most people on the planet. However, there are a few that can outright control it in ways that are extraordinary and a select few can make Kren.
Kren comes in several different elements. There are six elements that are well known. Before the Queens there were only three.
Sacred Palace: is a place that is a far more advanced and complicated version of a core. It is where all a queen's memories, knowledge, and arts are held. It houses the queen's true self.
It can also be entered by royalty and those the queen has deemed worthy. For example a royal consort. It is a place in a queen's soul.

World Scholar: (To be Added)
Vahnaine: a kingdom in the original Elemencia. Its queen is known for being devoted to a god of Elemencia.
Voids: A creature with a hive like consciousness that exist due to corruption. It consumes others that are in despair and add them to it's collective.
They can absorb each other as well. Some void have humanoid forms due to a lesser amount of corruption, but as time passes they all succumb. All Voids are citizens Illacrimina.
They can be purified by Nys.
Vocivus (irredeemable void): an abomination created by Drellius. It houses no core or soul. It only desire is to consume and corrupt. It is dangerous to all queens and subjects, including regular voids. Nys is the only queen that can touch the void but still will suffer for doing so. She doesn't risk absolutely corruption like everyone else.

Where am I?
Nys wondered as she slowly opened her eyes to the throne room where she had been given her crown. Nostalgia came back once more. This time she felt odd.
What will you give up for them?
Nys looked around but there was no one around. "Who are you?"
Does that matter? You said you wanted to save them? What will you give on their behalf?
"I don't know. I just don't want to hurt anyone. I don't want to feel that way again." Nys said clenching her hand and holding it to her chest. The female void was wrong, she wasn't doing this just because it was right. She wasn't searching for an easy answer. If that was true, then killing them would be the answer. She was only saying that if she couldn't help them then she would take on the burden of mercy killing them.
She didn't mean for it to come out so uncaring, but she was never good with words, "I don't want to feel helpless when it comes to someone's pain. I want to end it for them. To provide the help they so desperately need."
Poor souls trapped in a never-ending cycle of pain. Memories repeating over and over until they no longer provide comfort but become torturous. To live with betrayal in endless pain. Not knowing why they are that way or why they must pay the price of someone else's sins. That is what it means to be a Void.
Nys sat up properly on the throne. She was still sitting on it from last time. "Liri won't tell me anything about them. He said I couldn't save them. Why should I trust you? Who are you?"
He goes out of his way to make things easy for you, but that isn't what you want. Though your choice in words left something to be desired, you truly do want to save those helpless souls. You are willing to pay for them, aren't you?
"Yes," she said looking down at the black and gold floor, "Isn't it strange? I want to help them. I don't even know their stories, but they deserved better than this cruel fate. Being trapped in everlasting torture is too much. It isn't right and even if…"

"Even if they can't be saved… someone should try. They should reach out to them and at least try. That would be more than what anyone has ever done for them… right?" Nys finally realized that her reflection was speaking to her. A mirror image but with a reserved demeanor sat on the throne staring at her just as she did. The floor was acting like a mirror except the image on the other side didn't move as she did. She even sat like a queen would with an air of royalty.
You are the Queen of Light, no matter what those around you say, you must save your subjects first and foremost. It is your duty. You must reach out to them.
Nys nodded and leaned back against her throne staring up at night sky through the skylight above her.
What will you give up for those lost ones? You must decide or you will not receive the queen's blessing. You must move forward no matter the cost if you wish to give them peace.
Nys thought deeply about what she needed to give up for the Void. To save them she had to sacrifice something equal to their lives. She took a deep breath when she finally decided and spoke.
What will Nys give up for the Lost Ones?
Nys will learn only one of the Sacred Palace Arts the others will never be learned. Choose wisely.

Gotta remember there's a REASON you wait until the end of the season to do the 'self-sacrifice play'. You need to know how/where to aim yourself.

We only get to keep one now. Which sounds like we're going to be a one-trick pony.

Cara ended the call without leaving a message, instead, she dialed the number again only to be sent straight to voicemail. She ended the call again without leaving a message and dropped the smartphone on the bench beside her. She looked up at the night sky before giving up.
"Do you really hate me that much?" Cara mumbled to herself as she picked up her things and got up. The school courtyard was eerie at night, but she was used to it now. The creeping sensation that was always around at night stopped bothering her a while ago.
She left the school around midnight, her mind wandering back to her friend. She couldn't understand why she was refusing her calls. They had been friends for years and now she suddenly couldn't stand her. It made no sense.
"It's her fault," Cara clenched her fist at the thought of Ai Ashbridge. If the woman didn't exist, she'd still have her friend. She wouldn't be all alone again. It wasn't fair that she had to lose her only friend.
Cara wiped at her cheeks not ready to acknowledge she was crying over losing a friend. She wasn't that type of person. She didn't need anyone. She just didn't like things being taken away from her. She hated that more than anything. So, she would do the same to Ai. She'd take someone from her. It was only fair.
Hyacinth would have to pay for her sister's mistakes. She would have to continue to pay until Cara was satisfied and there was only one way to satisfy her. Dialing the number of one of her acquaintances she smiled, "Mona, I need a favor for tomorrow. I want to make a star fall from the sky."

Nem Lumillia finally got home a little before two in the morning. He was sure his sister was already asleep since he left right after dinner. The girl didn't have to work so it was a load off his mind not to have to worry over her.
He locked up the front door and pulled his shoes off leaving them near the door. He took off the shoulder holster and left it on the couch as he walked past. His aim was for the shower but he beelined for Nys' room to check on her. An odd feeling passing over him, forcing him to check on his sister.
He peeked in her room first and noticed the light was still on. She was under her cover sound asleep except he could hear her panting. He went over to the bed and pulled the cover from her around her face and neck. Her face was flushed red and her eyebrows knitted together.
"Nys?" he gently shook her. She didn't respond so he placed his hand on her forehead and had to pull his hand back. She was burning up, "Nys wake up. Nys!"
Nem picked her up quickly and he spotted the odd doll that was lying beside her. He stared at the doll longer than he should have, before moving Nys to the bathroom and putting her in the tub. He turned the shower on and went back to get ice.
When he returned the girl was somewhat conscious, her eyes roaming around. She looked lost until she saw him. "Nem?"
"Shh." He said dropping the ice around her and plugging up the tub drain, "You're sick."
"Sick?" Nys said confused her hand pressing on her stomach. She shook her head, "hurt…"
Nem stopped what he was doing and stared at his sister. Her blue eyes unfocused as she spoke, "I got hurt…void…"
Nem eyes widened for a millisecond before returning to his usual expressionless face. "Void?"
Nys blinked twice before looking at him and it was like she realized who she was talking to, "N-no I mean… I-I"
"Shh, it's okay. You must be delirious from the fever," he said sitting down the edge of the tub while she closed her eyes. He patted her head softly as an eerie purple aura emitted from his hand. He stroked her hair until she fell asleep.
He let her stay in the tub until she was at a normal temperature then he picked her up. He took her back to her room dried her off and put her in another set of pajamas. He changed her sweat filled sheets and then put her in her bed. Once he was satisfied that she was okay he decided to leave the room but stopped in his tracks looking back at the doll that had fallen on to the floor when he changed the sheets.
He picked up the doll and placed it beside Nys. "You need to do a better job of taking care of her. This is your only warning, jester."
Nem turned the light off and left the room after speaking. He closed the door behind him and leaned against it, "Why must you do this? Does it mean that much to you?"

Nys opened her eyes to a familiar ceiling. She didn't feel like she did yesterday, but she didn't feel good either. She rolled over and sat up. Her abdomen muscle hurt but she ignored the pain. Liri was on her desk staring out of the window.
"I guess I'm alive," she said going over and taking a seat at the desk.
"Why did you attack her?"
Nys leaned back in the chair, "I got annoyed. It's strange. That wasn't like me at all. She wouldn't listen to me and she made me feel like I was heartless. I didn't like it. Before I even realized it, I was attacking her."
Liri sighed exasperatedly. "Being questioned by subjects is offensive to a queen. It's usually not something that would happen but with Lei… forget about it. Just try not to let your emotions control you next time."
Nys nodded, "I had a weird dream. It was in a throne room and my reflection was speaking to me. Ask me to give something up for the Void, so I could save them."
"What?"
The blonde looked up at the doll surprise by the tone of voice, "It wasn't a dream was it?"
"What did you give up? Tell me quickly!"
Nys was about to tell the doll when something in her screamed 'no'. For some reason, she couldn't tell Liri what she gave up. "I can't tell you. I don't know why but I can't."
Liri didn't harass her for an answer instead he turned his attention back to the scenery outside, "As a queen, you can never go back on your word."
"I never break my promises." Nys said getting up from the desk, "I'm going to tell Nem."
Liri looked up at her, "At this point, it's probably for the best."
Nys didn't know how to react to Liri. He was acting oddly. She thought he would at least put up a fight. He never said she couldn't tell her brother but she kind of thought it went without saying, "Is it really okay for me to tell him."
"Your brother is far from stupid. He knows something is wrong. It's better if you go ahead and tell him before he finds out on his own. He's the type that hates lies." Liri spoke as if he knew Nem personally. Her brother hated it when someone lied to him, so she always told him the truth.
"Then I'll go tell him," she said turning to leave then spinning back around to grab the doll, "and you're going too."
Nys found her brother sleeping on the couch. It was odd. Nem always made it to his bed no matter how tired he was. "Nem?"
He opened his violet eyes as if he wasn't sleeping, "Yes Nys."
"I wanted to talk to you about something," she said suddenly feeling nervous. She used to be able to tell Nem everything, but this was different.
"Nys, you don't have to be afraid to tell me anything. I promise I won't get visibly angry."
It was Nem's way of saying he would be angry but wasn't going to let it show. "Okay… I'm- I'm a magical girl. I mean woman."
She corrected herself as she shook her head at her word choice. It sounded even stupider coming out of her mouth. "I know it sounds weird, but it is true."
Nem raised an eyebrow at her but then chuckled a little to himself. Nys showed Nem, Liri. "See it's true!"
"Nys, I don't doubt you. I know you're a 'magical girl'."
"Woman," she corrected.
"Okay woman. I knew you'd be chosen for this role before you were even born. It was mother's wish." Nem said staring at Liri who finally decided to stop acting like a doll.
"Wait, you knew. This whole time you knew." Nys said taken aback.
"Not the way you think. I only knew when you came home injured yesterday. You spoke about Voids. It wasn't hard to figure it out," Nem said finally sitting up on the couch. Nys plopped down beside him.
"So, I ratted myself out yesterday. I don't even remember," she said leaning back on the couch before sitting up straight again, "Mom? You said mom knew I'd be doing this?"
"Yes, it quite complicated—"
"You never speak about her, is this why?" Nys asked feeling like she needed to know more about her mother.
"Don't get ahead of yourself Nys. It's not the reason, but it is a part of the reason I don't speak about her. For now, I don't want to talk about it, and you'll be fine without knowing. Just continue doing what you feel is right. If you need my help feel free to ask. I'll support you when you need it." Nem said getting up from the couch.
"You even know about the Voids?"
"I know enough to know it's dangerous to fight against them and that they thrive on fear and despair. Which is why I don't like that you are fighting against them, but it's necessary."
Nys nodded feeling like a load had been lifted from her shoulders, "I don't know what I expected but it wasn't like this. Thanks, Nem."
"Now go lie back down. I don't want you going to work, or school today and please avoid patrolling for any Voids. You need to recuperate first," He said pulling Nys to her feet and pointing to her room. She sighed while rolling her eyes before she went to her room. Liri stayed on the couch and Nys had forgotten all about the doll.
Once Nys was back in her room and out of earshot, Nem turned his attention to the doll on the couch, "You may speak freely."
"Thank you, your highness." Liri said bowing deeply to the blonde, "I do not wish to question your actions, but was this the time to reveal your knowledge of her being a queen?"
"It will be fine like this. She will believe what I tell her. She has no reason to question me. For now, let her do what she wishes, but keep her safe. Gather them together. I'm sure that is what she wished for. When the time comes if Nys needs my help I will help her."
"I will continue to do as she commanded." Liri was about to leave when Nem held his hand out. Liri figured out what the man wanted so he hopped on to the offered palm.
"Since you've lost your blessing so foolishly, I will give you mine," Nem said letting the same purple aura wash over the doll before sitting him back on the couch. "Guide her carefully, so that when the time arrives, she will make the right choice."
"Yes, your highness."
