I will have to reread before voting. But I would like to know more about our headmate, since we are going to give up on everything that we are over time and I'm assuming that our headmate will be taking over.
How come Callen's affinity is Dark instead of Fire? Does being a Void replace one's original affinity?
How come he is conscious when Nem has been knocked out by our spellwork even through his mother's defences? Is there a difference between an affinity granted by Voidification, and being a natural born Dark Prince?
I can also answer your some of your questions from the past update. Callen has both Dark and Fire Affinity. He had both affinities before voids even existed. Being a Void does not replace an original affinity. In Ren's case he was dead when he became a void so he lost his original affinity before becoming a void. He is more like a host for a void than an actually void.
I just realized that I haven't voted yet. Part of me wants to create a vote for Sines Facade, but that will likely create a vote lock at this point. The Golden Queen's truth will likely give us an interesting puzzle piece regardless.

I was waiting to see if you would vote for The Queen, because I could very well switch Liri's vote to hers. I thought you wanted to get to know her better?
I am not sure I share the enthusiasm, considering that our values may differ and the entire not!mind-control going on), but I am definitely curious.
I think though that for all Liri is fanatically devoted to his Queen, and our anger at him withholding critical information, we may have more points of connection with him, since he is also being kept in the dark about a lot of things.
I wonder if time will come when he'll have to choose whom to heed.

Then I approval vote, so that there won't be a vote lock If you happen to be otherwise occupied.
The main reason to talk with the Queen is because we've never talked to the Queen. she is also likely to be the only one to whom we can talk about our sacrifice. And if what I suspect about sacrificing our 'Image' is correct then we should likely give her the shovel talk about being responsible with our body.
Moiira combed her hair as she stared into the beautifully crafted mirror. She had spent the better half of her day going over some records and documents. Many of them unimportant and easily handled by others, yet she took the time to read over a few.
She finished combing her fiery hair and stood up. She had much to do and very little time to do it. When she was younger she couldn't wait to assume her duties. Now it was a burdensome.
She changed into her favorite crimson dress and placed the golden crown on her head. It was a new one she had made recently. She was never one to only have one crown.
She ran her fingers through her thigh length hair with a smile. She had her maid spend hours brushing her hair last night. The results were satisfactory. She made a mental note to reward the young girl.
As she stepped out of her room a maid was waiting. "My Queen, High Priest Eans Valeii is asking for your presence."
The queen rolled her eyes and walked in the opposite way of the altar room.
"My Queen, wh-what should I tell him?" The maid squeaked.
"Tell him his queen had urgent business to attend to. She hopes that he can understand her position and give her leniency in his heart."
The maid nodded and the red head queen continue to her destination.
"Damn priest." Moiira said clicking her tongue in annoyance. She wondered how long he was going to nag her about her return to the altar. Had he not realized she didn't care much for their religion.
Her mother and father were devoted servants of Escha but she was far from that. She already had a purpose in life. She didn't intend to be pushed away from it.
Her heels clicked as she rounded the corner and her favorite knight was leaning against the wall clad in the standard red and gold uniform.
"First rank, Callen." She smiled as he stood up at attention.
"My Queen." He said greeting her. The woman chuckled.
"Is that how you greet your big sister," she came over and grabbed his ear.
Callen yelped and pushed her hand away. The queen laughed.
"Sister, please I just became a knight." Callen said embarrassed as he fixed his hair.
"Oh, so you are not posing on this wall to get the maids attention?"
"I never said that," he said smiling.
The queen shook her head and started to head to the knight's office with her brother in toll.
Callen was born several years after she was. He was much younger than her and like 98 percent of the population, he had a normal life span. Her parents were disappointed he didn't bear the blessings of the deities. So they spoiled him because he would leave far before any of them.
He was a kind kid and she loved her brother. She tried not to think about the inevitable and did her best to spend all the time she could with him.
"Why are you headed to the Knight's Office?" He asked her.
"I am doing a brief inspection today."
"You should be at the altar today, right?" Callen asked.
"High Priest Valeii will be disappointed but it is necessary that I do this." She said moving quicker.
"You are shirking your duties." Callen laughed as he accused her.
"I am not. I am...uh," the woman tried to find a good reason but found nothing. "So what."
Callen shook his head smiling. "Our great queen is hiding from her duties."
"I will demote you."
Callen out his hands up in a placating manner. "Alright, no need to be so hasty. I will keep my mouth shut."
The woman nodded and continue toward the Knight's Office.
----------
"Did you hear?" Callen asked.
Moiira hummed questioningly. She sat reading a old book written by her predecessor.
"A new Queen has been found...or she's been around but no one knew about her until she revealed herself." He explained putting his book down. They spent weekends reading books together.
"A new Queen?" Moiira said pensive. "Well that's good. We could always use help regulating the immense amounts of Kren Elemencia is always creating."
Callen nodded, "The only thing is she apparently was in the Black Ocean. A lot of whispers are saying she's the successor of the Shadow Element."
"So, it's not like she is the Shadow King. He's dead. If she is the successor maybe she can help us clean up all that miasma left. It'll be nice to travel the Celest Ocean and to see what it use to look like before the Shadow King."
"So not even you saw it?" Callen asked surprised.
"I am not that old. Even our parents were not alive to see it." Moiira explained.
"Oh. Sometimes I forget you and our parents are not as old as I think."
"Well if she does want to help out, you might get to see the ocean that was created by Cherrimin's family." Moiira ignored his words.
"What if she's like the Shadow King and wants nothing but to swallow the world in shadows."
"I know you've heard the stories countless times from the high priest but there more to it than what you know. More that I don't know either. Let not judge her before we are properly introduced." Moiira said.
"You're right. One more thing," Callen turned to look at his sister.
"Hmm?"
"I was talking with uncle Drel and he said you were going to remove some of the Priest class's power." He said.
Moiira sighed deeply, "They've been around for ages and lately I feel like they are herding our people toward something ominous. High Priest Valeii worries me greatly. Reducing their influence is for the best for now. They constantly give the impression that they speak with Eschalia. But I know that only Vi is given that privilege. Mother and Father are adamant that the Priest Class remain in Vahnaine but..."
"It would cause a lot of problems if you just rid them of all their power, so I understand. Just be careful. People become desperate when they lose control." Callen said insightful.
"Uncle must have said that to you."
"Hey! Even if it's true don't point it out." Callen whined.
Moiira laughed and went back to her book. Though she looked confident about the matter she felt fear bubbling. She glanced at her brother. She wondered how far the Priests would go to keep their control over Vahnaine.
"in tow"
Also, capitalisation is inconsistent. Is it the Knight's Office, as in, a special room with the name to match, or is it the knight's office, a place where her brother reports to?
Well, it doesn't change the result. Although that raises a question what kind of compulsion she may have been under, if any. Or did she use her god as a pretext?
My understanding is that they sent Callen as an envoy; his ship sunk, and he was nursed/raised back to life by Crimina... but I don't know what happened next. Did the priests pressure Moiira into war? Did they promise her to return her brother back to her side? This doesn't look like a folly born out of conspiracy. For all that Drellius was reasonable then, now he sounds like a regular fanatic. Something else has happened that made them ignore any attempts at an alternative explanation, and the priests alone can not account for that.
Besides, even if Callen was the cause, this went far beyond him. What drives Drellius and others like him now?
Nys was dreaming. She didn't remember falling asleep, and she found it odd that she knew she was dreaming, but the place she was in was familiar. The long hallway that led to the throne room was decorated in dark muted colors of gray and black, but with touches of white from ceramic flowers that decorated the room and golden accents. Without even stepping foot in that room, Nys knew it like the back of her hand. It was a place she knew so well. A distant memory was right in her grasp, but she couldn't reach it.
Her place in the past seemed to be as hazy as it had when she learned that she, too, existed back then. Nem was still silent about everything and didn't even acknowledge what happened on the beach. It was becoming harder for her to trust him. Difficult for her to trust anyone, even herself when she could lose control of her body to someone else.
Reaching the large double doors, she pushed them open to the room she could see in her mind. The room was in a perfect circle with a black throne surrounded by white flowers in the center. The black throne had a white flower motif engraved into it with flowers on the top of the throne. On each side, there was a sculpture of a woman. Both rested heavily on each side of the throne. Their eyes were closed with soft expressions and heads bowed in reverence or prayer. Flowers surrounded the statues. They looked so realistic that Nys thought they would move at any second. The floor-to-ceiling windows allowed the warm rays of sunlight into the room. Golden Kren floated around in the room giving the throne room a warm feeling.
It was nostalgic for Nys. Seeing the place after so long she wanted to cry. She could even hear the hymn that was ever-present in the throne room. She remembered so much of her home but still couldn't reach her true memories.
Sitting on the throne was a woman that Nys didn't really expect to be there. She was sleeping lazily on the throne. Her posture was relaxed and calm. She was resting without a care in the world. A freedom Nys was beginning to miss the longer she had to continue her duty.
"Hello?" Nys called the woman, not really wanting to wake her but without a choice. She was stuck in the dream, so she might as well see if she could get answers from the woman.
She opened her eyes to reveal deep crimson eyes that were both familiar and unfamiliar to Nys. Thinking about it, Nys knew the color was wrong and should have been a soft winter gray. Slowly, the woman sat up and fixed her dark gray hair. It only took a few seconds for her to run her finger through her hair to get everything in order. Rubbing at her eyes, she somehow avoided messing up the purple eyeshadow she wore. She wore a light gray dress with black ruffles and an odd black high neck half dress with golden accents. She yawned behind her hand before speaking.
"Good morning Nys. What brings you here?" The woman asked with a gentle smile.
What should Nys ask or talk about? This will be a conversation so more questions can be asked later. At least two for now.

[x] Are you... Mom?
[x] Why are your eyes red, like theirs?
I can think of a lot of questions that would barely scratch the top of what we might want to know.
[ ] How am I here?
[ ] Are we in my palace? Your palace? What is the difference?
[ ] Were you the one who took over me? Is this the price to pay for wielding your power?
[ ] What awaits me - us? - in the future? Do I have a future?
[ ] What is my purpose, specifically?
[ ] Why don't I have memories, but almost everyone else does?
[ ] Why is the old war still going? Who is perpetuating it?
[x] Are you... Mom?
Either this is going to be wrong in an endearing way, or this is going to be on point which would be interesting.
[X] Are we in my palace? Your palace? What is the difference?
Identity and place seem like a good point to start of from.
I'm not sure what could be accomplished from "Why are your eyes red?" since they already occur naturally enough for Nys' best friend to have red eyes too.
Reaching the large double doors, she pushed them open to the room she could see in her mind. The room was in a perfect circle with a black throne surrounded by white flowers in the center. The black throne had a white flower motif engraved into it with flowers on the top of the throne.
The sun's rays flowed in lighting everything up beautifully. The room was a perfect circle with the throne in the center. The floor was pitch-black with gold flower designs stretching out from the white throne.
But it is still a palace, with the throne room and all. And we didn't feel like our own palace belonged to us, though that may have been because of Crimina's lingering influence. It's complicated when it comes to Nys's sense of identity.
OOC we voted to talk to the Queen, so that's who I assume our dream guest is.
I'm not sure what could be accomplished from "Why are your eyes red?" since they already occur naturally enough for Nys' best friend to have red eyes too.
Hmm... point. Though it is the kind of detail that should have raised questions if we knew more about the setting. We took Moira as a given, even though since then none of the characters besides the Voids (and Liri) had red eyes. If Moira were introduced later, it certainly would have caught our attention and serve as a red flag that something is off about this character.

The woman's voice was the same as the voice that she had heard in her mind, but the woman before her was different.
"I-I came to ask questions, to find out the truth about everything. I can't trust anyone to be clear with me." Nys said annoyed.
"They only want to protect you. It's not that they can't be trusted. It's just… they want to keep you safe." The woman said getting up from her seat before coming to stand before Nys, "I'll help you, but you will accept the consequences."
"Consequence?"
The dark haired woman nodded, "You'll have to take the good with the bad."
"I will. I'm not afraid."
The woman smiled gently before speaking again, "So what do you want to know? I promise to tell you everything no matter what."
"Really?" Nys wanted to believe the woman for some odd reason.
"I would never lie to you. There is no point. You would know if I did."
Nys found that strange but decided to trust the woman. "First is this my Sacred Palace or is it yours?"
"There is no difference." The woman said, looking back at the throne with an unreadable expression.
"Okay, then are you my mother."
"No, I am not your mother." The woman chuckled with an amused smile.
"But you are the voice in my head right?"
"Sort of." the woman said with a slight shrug. Though she was elegant and regal she didn't seem like the other queens.
"Sort of?" Nys repeated the woman confused. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"It means that I am and that I am not. It is a little complicated." The woman made a face before taking Nys by her hand and leading her toward the throne.
"Didn't you help me and then you took over my body?" Nys asked.
"Yes and no." she responded vaguely.
Nys rolled her eyes, "If you're going to answer like this--"
"There is no going back. If you want me to answer then I will tell you everything. They won't be able to keep you safe anymore. Are you sure you're okay with this? They've done so much to spare you, but I am not like them. I don't want to protect you." The woman made her sit on the throne.
She then pointed up to the ceiling and Nys looked up to see a mirror-like ceiling. It was a perfect replica of the room she was in but it was hers. The throne room where she met that person who told her to sit on the throne. "Are you sure you want to thwart their tireless efforts?"
Nys stared up at her reflection where the woman before her didn't exist and nodded. "I do."
The woman reached up above her own head and a silver crown appeared in her hands. She handed it to Nys.
Nys took it hesitantly as terror gripped her. There was no going back if she put the crown on. She knew that without anyone telling her. Still she wanted to know the whole story, good and bad. She wanted to make her own choices. She didn't need protection anymore. She placed the crown on her head as the woman gave her an encouraging smile then looked up to the reflection of the other Sacred Palace.
"Welcome back Nyseria." The voice was from the person in the other palace. The one that gave her the golden crown. The man dropped through the mirror like going through water and landed in front of her.
He took off the cloak to reveal a person that she didn't know or at least she didn't think she did. He was familiar though. Strangely, more so than any of the other queens. Seeing him gave her a deep feeling of sorrow but also relief. It was making her anxious. His deep violet eyes were devoid of some spark that every person had, but she wasn't afraid of him. He kneeled before her and lower his head. She then noticed the knight attire that was mostly black with accents of white and gold.
"Finally you have returned to your rightful place, Nys."
She looked down at the silver key in her left hand and the golden one in her right. "How is this possible?"
We seem to have a split personality. If the other woman is not our mom, then she is us. But why?
Callen said something about Sine runing Nyseria, and Nys is just a half of that name. We seem to have come into possession of the other half.
The efforts to keep her and her memories away from us make sense then, but what is so horrible about it? I am unnerved by all the keys and crowns being silver and gold, the colors normally associated with divine beings. Why is that?
Nys said something about the palace not feeling like her own, because "the light should fade". Which would be a strange thing to say for the Queen of Light. Are we corrupted somehow?
"It is possible, but only for you." The woman said.
"Okay, but who are you?"
"A memory..." The woman said, looking up at the reflection. "left behind by your true self."
"What do you mean, my true self?" Nys asked, looking at the man that she realized resembled Nem or more likely Nem resembled him. Not completely, but the man's eyes were exactly the same, though he had ash blonde hair that was longer.
"I am sure you have realized that you are different from the rest. Those queens' memories returned with clarity, yet yours are still vague. Like echoes that you can not fully comprehend." The man spoke now. His stare unnerved her.
Nys stared at the two keys in her hands and nodded.
"That is because you aren't the Nyseria of the past, but rather a piece. No... more than a piece. You are the precious light that was stolen from her." The dark-haired woman said.
"I was the Light." Nys said, coming to the conclusion she didn't quite want but was relieved to have found.
The memory of Nyseria nodded. "Yes, you are her precious light. The element that was created just for her."
"Then how did I end up like this and where is the real Nyseria. Why did this happen?" Nys felt a strange calm over her. She should be panicking with such a revelation, but she still wanted to know more.
"Ignis, The Queen of Vahnaine is the reason." The man answered coldly.
"Ignis came to hate you for the death of her brother Callen." The dark hair woman explained.
"Callen... he's related to Ignis. Wait, did I— Nyseria kill Ignis' brother?" Nys panicked at the thought of being the reason for so many terrible things to happen.
I would never do such a thing, but of course she would not believe me.
Nys looked around as she heard the voice of who she guess was the real Nyseria. The woman in front of her that called herself a memory sighed softly.
"Then all this happened because of Callen's death? But he's alive now..." she trailed off, remembering how Drellius treated Callen. The man would not believe that Callen was anything other than a puppet.
"There is so much more to all of this—" the dark haired woman was cut off by the disembodied voice.
Yet I do not care to know it any longer. There is no reason that could soothe my anger. No excuse that would spare their lives. I will kill them. Every last queen will die by my hand.
"Wait, you can't do that if they're innocent."
Innocent? They abandoned me when I needed them. Abandoning not only me, but countless innocent people. My people that had nothing to do with any of it.
Nys looked at the memory that had stopped talking completely. She just stared at the floor with a haunted look. Her eyes wide like she was seeing the horrible things that the voice spoke of. Nys hesitated as she spoke, "There must have been a reason..."
"No. There is no reason for what you suffered. On the day of the attack, they left us to a fate worse than death. They even allowed Nemone to be imprisoned for countless years until they realized they couldn't fix what they let her destroy." The man said, eyes ablaze with rage.
For a brief second, Nys recalled a memory of the man before her. A memory that was clearer than any of the echoes she received before.
"I know you?" Nys said, standing up abruptly. She was even more confused as the man nodded solemnly. "I remember talking to you, but I don't remember your name. Who are you?"
The man stared at her with an empty expression. "My name doesn't matter. Right now you need to focus on the task at hand."
"But—" Nys stopped short when she noticed the presence of the voice was gone. It was silent for a long while before Nys spoke. "What am I supposed to do and what will happen to me?"
"If you continue to purify the voids, it will allow them to return to their collective. Essentially you're saving them, but it will inevitably take its toll on you. The more you purify them, the more you sacrifice yourself. Eventually, you'll return to just being the element that is you. That is what she ultimately wants," the woman said.
"So I'm not really a person, right? My name isn't really Nyseria since I'm just a part of her." Nys wondered if she should have remained ignorant.
"It's not like that. You are a part of her, but without you, she can't be whole. Without you there's only the version that is consumed by rage and determined to right the wrongs done to her." The memory of Nyseria said.
"You are Nyseria. No matter what happens, she can't be the true Queen of Twilight without you. She's trying to strip away your personality, so that when you return, you are nothing but light. That way you won't sway her from her goal. She doesn't want to be herself again..." The blonde haired man trailed off.
"Am I really Nyseria? Am I really a person not just an element." Nys stared at her shaking hands.
"When everyone thinks of you Nys, they see Nyseria. What is left in that cage is the twisted remains of hate and pain. You are the one that can forgive something she doesn't want to do." He assured her with a gentle smile.
"So I can't save the voids?" Nys asked sadly.
"If you become one again as you are now, you can. But if you are stripped of your personality then you can't. The Last Gift is a trap set out by the one in the cage to ensnare you. Don't be deceived by it. Though I hate the queens for their inaction, I know that you need them to restore the world. Your mother made sure that everything would work out. We only need to do the things required of us." The man explained.
"Cage?"
"The Abhorrent Paradise, a place that imprisons that Nyseria," the dark haired woman spoke.
Nys nodded and took a deep breath. She only had one more question.
Happy to know that our deal with the devil was in fact a deal with the devil.
Nice to know that we shouldn't use it.
I think that we should inform our party that we aren't going to do any finishers on any weaker voids if we can help it. We should also either inform them about our mental blocks or this was the result of us talking our past.
The timeline got murky again. I thought our mother was the Queen of Twilight, but apparently that's us. She must have been killed earlier in the war, then?
"I will rule one day, I should know what happening around me, right?" The boy looked no older than seven but spoke like an adult. Lei knew that the prince only looked young. By the standards of the other kingdom's, he would be an adult at the age of seventeen. Yet, he still looked like a child, so others wouldn't take him seriously. It probably angered the prince but there was nothing they could do.
In his interlude, back when he was a child Nemone said he'd rule one day. Presumably, he didn't have a sister yet. How and when was Nyseria born, then, and why did the order of succession change? Is the man in our head our father, since he resembles Nem so much? But then where is the Mother Queen?
"Please hurry, please escape. I can no longer stop her. Leave and never return! Do not come back here. I beg you."
Eleni stopped in her tracks, hearing the queen's voice. Her highness was desperate. Eleni had heard her several times throughout her life. Her voice had always been soft-spoken and soothing, but today she was in tears. She was in pain and she was trying to hold on so that they could escape. Eleni felt helpless. As a royal maid in training, it was her duty to help the queen, but she was useless. Even though she knew she was still learning, she felt guilty for not being able to help.
"Eleni, come—" her father stopped abruptly and looked toward the palace. His expression fell and his eyes fell on to her. "We don't have to run anymore."
"Please forgive me. I can not protect you. I can not give you any more time." The queen choked on her words as she spoke.
Apparently that was also us? But then whom did we want to stop? Ignis, or something worse?
Weird to see the other personality working at cross-purposes, but I guess it makes sense if she doesn't need our outlook, just our powers.
"When everyone thinks of you Nys, they see Nyseria. What is left in that cage is the twisted remains of hate and pain. You are the one that can forgive something she doesn't want to do." He assured her with a gently smile.
Does this have anything to do with the birdcage under Eone's Garden? The one we found Ren's core in, and the dark mirror of Fifth Affliction? Why is it called "affliction", anyway?
Alright, so we know we are different even beyond whatever has been done to us by our enemies. We had an element created just for us (did it happen at birth?), we had been designated the heir to the throne, and we have two keys and presumably two sets of power. If I had to guess, our title comes from being able to wield both elements of Light and Shadow, hence the Queen of Twilight.
Then there is one question that really needs to be answered.
[x] What is supposed to be my purpose?
Why is it possible for us to do no one else can? Why two powers? Why everything revolves around us?
This plan, whatever it is, may have been set in motion before there even was a war and the world was divided. Then what were we supposed to do?
Okay! First of all, we get to eliminate the introductory character. She was a Queen of Darkness, who was Nem's mother and whom Liri served for years, but there is just no place for her on the chart! The Queen of Illacrimina is, was, and always will be Nys. However that works!
I said this in jest, but it might actually be true. Well, a part of it, in any case. It was Nyseria who was the Queen of Illacrimina. When the Fire Nation attacked the Cataclysm struck, she must have separated a part of her essense to create Nys, and succumbed to whatever fate awaited her. It is not certain whether that fate was imprisonment, or if she was imprisoned to protect the world from what she has become. Either way, she entrusted the rest to Nys.
That's why Nemone talks as if he was meant to be a ruler; he is and was the sole heir to the kingdom. But he is also our brother in a sense that we are both "born of Nyseria"; we are different enough to be a separate existence/personality from her. The man in the dream may well be Nyseria's... husband? Consort? Why can't we remember his name? I suppose our separation from Nyseria had to be complete to avoid whatever was in stock for her.
Absent her best qualities, the remains of Nyseria got rather... upset at the rest of the world.
"She was pretty," Nem said. "Or that's what I remember first when thinking about her. She was sweet and far too nice. A woman that thought about the well-being of everyone but herself."
Nys tried to picture the woman but still drew a blank. "Oh yeah, you said she had a wish. What was it?"
"That you become a queen. She wanted you to help fix this world."
"She wanted me to help fix the world. Is that what Liri meant? He said we had to gather the queens for the true enemy." Nys said remembering the doll's words.
Our "mother" intended for us to help fix the world and become a queen. Which I think is misleading, because it translates into restoring Nyseria, at which point is it really Nys who is a queen? They at least seem to think it is possible to become "one again as we are now".
It looks like we are a loophole Nyseria left for her own salvation.
Then who is the enemy that we need to save the world from? What is the source of corruption? Is it Dark Nyseria that threatens the world? That'd certainly be a twist.
"I have one wish. One wish that I know you can fulfill for me. I have waited for this moment for centuries." she looked up to the beautiful morning sky.
It happens at present time, way after the war. Who is the queen that gave Liri his body and the mission? At that point Nyseria has long been rotting in the cage without Nys to temper her hatred.
Was Liri's mission given to him by Dark Nyseria? Should we be wary of sabotage coming our way? It's true that we are necessary to free/become the Queen of Twilight, but if she doesn't want us in charge, whom will her Knight listen to? Especially since he shares the same feelings of anger and resentment.
He does seem to discourage our attempts at saving the Voids at our own expense, which wouldn't be the case were he following orders from a corrupted entity.
This whole relationship with Nyseria/Dark Nyseria is complicated. Wasn't it her voice who told us to protect Nem at all costs, "the only pure one left"? But doesn't Nem also want to restore his mother to be the kind woman he remembers?
"If that is the case, Lei. Will Elirius regain his full memories soon? " The wolf said.
"What good will it be if he remembers." Lei said sadly, "Our queen sealed off those memories for a reason. If he awakens, then his rage will very well ruin everything. How could anyone push forward and work with the very ones that destroyed your family? Elirius cannot awaken until they all wake up. Though those memories seem to surface on their own. We must hurry before he regains it all."
"What will we do if he does? Should we protect the queens?" Wolf asked.
"No, our prince will have to hold him back." Lei sighed, "But the prince may not wish to."
"Prince Nemone won't let anyone prevent the world from returning to normal," the happy void said, walking behind them.
"Let us hope that is true." Lei said, looking at the palace as they got closer. "You're almost home, my Queen."
Have before I ever said how much I like the facial expressions of the art in this quest?
I find it fascinating how Blackhair Nyseria, White hair Nyseria and Nys are all smiling with different emotions.
I was rereading a bit to see if middle like Mina names meant anything. Name meant anything and then I came across this:
"You all are so blind to the truth. Sine never listened to me even as I begged. She ruined my homeland. You killed my consort and orphaned my child. Why? You heartlessly drove my people into those wretched forms. Forcing them to live as dreadful monsters that can find no peace in this world and I am the monster. I am the terrible thing that must be sealed away." Nys continued to laugh humorlessly as Callen reached for her.
I was like, huh, so mean!Nys has an orphan running around somewhere.
[Beat] Wait what!
[?] Thinking about what mean me said and she is me and her child became an orphan that means... she, I, we have a child!?
We will probably get to know this another way., but it seems like this would be a relevant question I.C.
Nem. Nem is Nyseria's son, which makes him an orphan since Nyseria is currently "dead".
Which makes him our child, except we are Nyseria's fragment and much younger, which makes us almost like a child to her, hence everyone treating us like Nemone's sister.
He and Cherrini are very evasive on the subject of our parentage, choosing their words carefully.
"Then what about my mother? Who was she and where did she come from? What was her wish for me? And what about how everything got ruined?" Nys asked.
"Cherrini." Nem called from ahead. "We're at the exit."
"Nys, your mother is a wonderful person. She gave us you, the one person who can help bring back the Elemencia we belong to, which is her wish. As for the rest, we'll have to wait until another time. " Mine said and Nys sighed but agreed. Cherrini nodded, but her expression was oddly forlorn.
Cherrini patted her cheeks. "We were supposed to be married. My mother and his thought it was a good idea for us to be married. It would forge a union between the two kingdoms and protect both. I've known him since I was a teenager. He was very different back then."
His fiancee only talks about her in those terms because that is how Nys framed the question. On her own, she calls the Queen of Twilight "Nem's mother", sidestepping our position in the familial tree.
She didn't say she knew us since he was a teenager either. There are a lot of these omissions that obscure the truth while not being outright lies.
As I said, a certain mental gymnastics is necessary to make sense of the relationships involved.
