The construction ran smoothly enough, the autumn wind carrying with it the last wiwps of summer's warmth. Or it was the muggle city burning, Dace thought whimsically as he took in his town's less gifted neighbor, watching impassively as a building crumbled. Yes, definitely the fires.
He would normally have intervened in some fashion, however, he had it on good authority that the city had been evacuated, mostly due to the muggle-repelling charms the land had been doused with. He turned around, moving away from the window as he strolled in the office he had ordered built for himself, the soles of his shors echoing in the room due to the lack of furniture.
Making sure people installed themselves in an orderly fashion was a chore, especially since those ones liked to complain, but in the end, it was done to his standards. However, security was a concern now, as he screening process had to be hurried in order not to make the innocents wait for too long.

Perhaps it was Ishmael's eye for talent, or the fact the current climate made it so people rearmed themselves, the fact was that producing a building for the militia and finding people to man it was frightfully easy. Though they were untrained, there was some potential here. However, as soon as the basics were built, Ishmael immediately switched to his other project, leaving Angus to take care of it, the younger man gritting his teeth but going along with it.
Other than the occasional fighting, there wasn't much more to do than train.

The building was plain. Well, plain wasn't really the word Dace would have used here, but more like inconspicuous. As inconspicuous as a trapdoor in his wine cellar could be anyways.
Still, as he went down said trapdoor, carefully so as to not slip on the metallic ladder, the stone surrounding him soon disappeared, revealing a massive ceiling, of a massive underground field, complete with artificial sun. His new advisor sure used his money for all its worth.
He finally touched gound and walked in the field, the long grass barely concealing a massive bunker. Ishmael was waiting him here clad in military garb and grunted in greetings, before signalling for him to follow inside the base. Around them, people were running in obvious panic, looking at the duo in obvious fear.
"The newbies've been busy." He answered to Dace's unspoken question as they arrived in front of a plain wall that opened when the military man glared at it, revealing a surprisingly tidy office, with a massive desk and shelves lining the walls from floor to ceiling.
"Things've gone down the drain around here, but two things stood out. First." he showed Dace a folder revealing a man in a crisp black suit that somehow fitted his massive frame, his face covered by a mask, holding an ice cream in his hand and his other holding on a little girl's, who had pale skin and shockingly white hair, a white summer dress, and was licking her own ice cream cone. Around them, one could see corpses and burning buildings.
"That's the Alley Man. He's been dragging that kid around. Probably to toughen her up, but the spied used that to keep tabs on them. Second." Ishmael's face showed his exasperation as a folder appeared from thin air.
Wait, no, it was a man who was holding it. How didn't Dace notice him earlier? He was lounging on a giant red sofa and drinking wine for goodness' sake!
"Second." Ishmael continued, ignoring the man who was waving lazily. " Your daughter has been busy."
Dace didn't like the man's tone, but opened the file, his eyebrows rising the more he read.
Apparently, Ishmael took upon himself to investigate in London and chanced upon Aife, who was leading groups of survivors out of the fires. Remembering the she wasn't supposed to be there, he followed, arriving to a warehouse chock full of people and he inserted in one of the groups, asking questions.
Apparently, Aife was the leader of a settlement Northwest of London, and had been saving people left and right, sending them to said unnamed settlement. When the sighal came, the protkeys activated and Ishmael was left alone in the warehouse.
"She really is a proactive woman, isn't she?" The man, Reaver -since when was he here?! Oh, wait, nevermind, he was always here- laughed, toying with his wine glass, and being most unhelpful.
Now Dace had a choice to make.
[] Write-in what will the spies do. Either the Jack Matter, or the Aife Matter, or Nothing.
In any case, he had things to do, Aife's potential betrayal did remind him of the necessity of obtaining a spare heir, which is why he headed up to his laboratory, cracked open the emergency box and get to work. The winter solstice was rapidly approaching, so Dace decided to make use of that. It was strange that there were six blood vials, when he only filled four, but he didn't detect anything from them, so he shrugged and dumped them in the cauldron like the rest.
Hm. I suppose I can chip in for this one, if only because otherwise this will end in tears. Again.
Dace looked critically at the child, a boy, apparently, and to his frustration, said child didn't inherit his family's bloodline, meaning he would have to try again later on or see his family go extinct.
The boy becan screaming, like all childred do, and he put him on a stone table, the enchantments arcing around the small figure and revealing his capacities.
Other than the lack of the most important thing, the child seemed to be much stronger than a regular baby, taller and with fast reflexes. Still, there was room for him to put in some changes, the question was, what did he wish to do ?
Due to Dace preferring power to gender, and letting Nature run its course, Dace may choose to rank up one of the child's genetic trait, or obtain one of the following traits :

Now that he was pretty satisfied with what he had, he decided this would be the best time to go and have a talk with Aife. For several reasons.
When he arrived to her room, he saw her drinking tea with Monique. Great.
Now he could get answers from them both.
"Father?" Aife looked up at him, taking in the child under his arm with a confused expression on her face, while Monique raised an eyebrow, hiding her mouth behind her hand. This didn't work, he could see the corners of her lips stretching on each side and his own cheeks hurt at how wide the smile was. She then giggled.
"The farce is up, dear."
Aife sighed, before letting her head fall on the table, groaning on what seemed to be annoyance.
"You were supposed to keep it hidden." She whined, as Monique scoffed.
"And you were supposed to stay put. I'm fairly sure your little outing is what got you on his radar."
The young woman groaned in response, before slowly sitting up. Her eyes turned towards the unnamed baby boy and she frowned a bit, before pulling out a set of parchment. The contents?
Aife leaving the Gwallawg family, essentially disinheriting herself, and her divorce with Rosier.
"I was hesitating, but since you've got your spare..." she trailed off, before gettin gup and walking out. Dace was about to follow her when Monique interrupted him, her hands folded under her chin and her eyes giving him a piercing look.
"She won't change her mind about this, I've had two years to work on her." Her face lacked her previous mirth, looking almost solemn. "I've also cleared it with your Albus-mandated babysitter."
She got up slowly, but Dace didn't seem to be able to move. She walked towards him, but he couldn't seem to speak.
She raised her hand to his face.
Her lips moved.
Dace blacked out.
"I'm not sure you will understand what I'm talking about, but now, this is between you and I."
