The question of whether the Time Machine plot is still kicking is an interesting one, since Trails hasn't used its Time super-artifact in canon yet (unless I'm missing something in the summaries of Trails through Daybreak). The Robo-Profs, or rather, their creators, are exactly the kind of wizard-scientist with no sense of right or wrong that pop up in Zemuria all the time, too.

I wonder if there's a trait you can get that would help you train your pokemon in some form if you specialize in a type or two, or generalize, or even stick with a theme (like how I suspect Ostia is only gonna have pokemon that are combat puppet/aion like)

In terms of Mad Science Experiments in Pokemon, we can't forget the venerable Dr. Cara Liss and her revolutionary fossil pokemon over in Galar.

Alrighty, caught up with the quest and I absolutely adore it. Time to vote!

[X] Save it for Later.
Too early to teach new moves to Roland I think, lets focus on the current moves and solidify a fightinh style?

[X] Buy them. The constant stares are getting to you. -2000 Pokedollars (Lowered from 4000 due to Mela Random Event Roll.)
More clothes are nice, and I do think that staying with the deel might affect our mental health too much rn. Get back to using it later? Probably! I like the look of it tho

[X] Nothing
All choices are very nice, however I think we should wait a little bit more and stabilish ourselves better in the city and academy.

Georg Weissman humbly bowing and handing over his Award For Pointless Cruelty.
I think the Galar fossil reviver is just really dumb. Like, she's 100% convinced that this tiny electric torso strapped onto the giant dinosaur legs is definitely a real Pokémon which 100% walked the face of Ancient Galar. She's a testament to how easy the fossil revival machines are to use.

The pointless cruelty winners of the Pokémon universe are Cipher without question. Just for their whole game plan of "Torture Pokémon until they're so traumatized they can use trauma powered moves". Though props to Cyrus, who Weissman would find an agreeable guy with respectable motives.

Assuming you want the vote to count, I'd recommend putting an X in the [] for Nothing

Also as long as we're doing lessons, putting your parenthetical notes on the same line as the vote messes up the auto counter. It's not a huge deal but

[The letter Ecks] The vote text

On its own separate line with carriage returns is the best way to do it.

So, are there any mechanical bonuses from increasing human bonds? I imagine there's supposed to be, considering there is in Trails and we already have here with pokemon.

We are finally through the Prologue. From here on we'll be going through weekly turns until the first Field Exercise during the first week of August.

Bonds with Human characters and Class operate similarly to Bonds with your Pokemon, though benefits are primarily story and character beats with some occasional benefits. (ie. At Bond 2 Erika will automatically join you during Library Studies increasing KNOW gain. At Bond 2 Ostia will join you in exploring Mesagoza giving +20 to random event rolls)

Bonds will also automatically raise during Field Exercises and Major Story beats.
mentioned in the prologue end threadmark! Erika helps us study and Ostia goes around Mezgoza with us, Asumedly if we get bond level 2 with Nemona she battles with us and idk any of the other characters well enough to guess. it looks like bond level 2 i where the first bonus comes in and there may be more?
Ninja Edit: actually probably means we should get to Erika 2 before studying for KNOWmaxxing

True! Which means we should take actions which give potential Erika Socials! Let's look at the list!
...
It's going to the library or feeding our complex (and losing money). So either we have to KNOWmax to level Erika, or get robbed by people better then us.

Hey, Roland is first badge and actually has had some fights now, we'll bleed money out more slowly to other people now!

I have faith in Roland's skill! I am just going by the description for the comments such as "we will get robbed"!
[] Advanced BATTLE: A Pokemon Journey is a multi year long process. Most Trainers get one badge and then struggle for years getting a second. Half of all Paldean Trainers quit around the third Gym. Only a tenth make it to the seventh Gym. There are no shortages of Trainers with only one Badge hanging around in Mesagoza. Many of them go to Battle Arenas in Mesagoza proper to prepare themselves for the League Circuit opening up in August. You can challenge them, you're absolutely going to lose but there's no better way to reveal your weakness than having them ruthlessly exploited. -1 AP
  • Potential Social Encounters: Nemona, Manuel, Erika
  • Gain 400-600 SKLL XP
  • Gain 300-500 Pokemon XP
  • All Pokemon Moves Gain 1 MXP
  • Lose Money no matter what

The purpose of Advanced Battle is to fight people that are definitely stronger than you. Now that Roland is 1st Badge, you'll now be challenging people with 2 Badges. There's an increase in XP gain as a result but also money lost as it's the cash price that would convince trainers that'd fight you to basically spend time taking a challenge from someone weaker than them.

There are probably wild pokemon at champion tier strength, mt silver is a thing, though in paldea's case it would be area zero
In the context of "Battle enemies you can't win against" the suggestion of "Go battle wild Pokémon!" is certainly a suggestion of all time!

Not because your wrong of course, but because that would be borderline suicidal to fight battles you know you're going to lose against wild and potentially lethal wild Pokémon!

As profession Rowan drilled into me when I tried to run to Sandgem town in Platinum, do not go into the Tall Grass without a Pokémon!

Advanced Battle will become a 1 AP across 2 week action around Badge 7 as you have to contact people ahead of time for battles.

Once you're at the Conference Level and above most trainers either train in Casseroya Lake, Asado Desert, or in the taller peaks of Glaseado.

They have to get permission from the League if they do that though. A "we're not liable if you piss off a domain and die" agreement between them and the League.
