So, ignoring the laptop, we got a whole suite of bond boosting options, the Feline Bed feels mandatory, the Gem Snacks would be a good idea, and we already got an item needed to bond with Roland right now. For the humans, Kofu would be a good idea for the blorbos, but I think we should talk with some of the lesser known classmates like Jacinto, Manual, or Theodora. I'd say Atticus too, but I don't know how much of a problem he's having.

These seem like good ideas, buuuut...
Weekly Special! TR Protect | A non reuseable disc containing the move Protect (Price will rise as Circuit advances) | Advanced Move. Take No Damage from Moves that Turn. Limited Number of Uses in Battle | 20000 |
Weekly Special! TM Protect | A reuseable disc containing the move Protect (Price will rise as Circuit advances) | Advanced Move. Take No Damage from Moves that Turn. Limited Number of Uses in Battle | 40000 |
Like I said before, we can't go wrong with a Protect TM, everyone can learn it, it's a get out of jail free card at least once per battle, it will work wonders in non-single battles or fights, and it can be used to protect us in a pinch I'd wager. What if we teach the entire team Protect and then have a big huddle moment where they stack their Protect fields while on top of us so we don't get nuked by a Shadow Annihilape or whatever.

Meh.
Basic Pokemon Food (Minerals) | The basic set of vitamins, feeds and other meals for any aspiring Ground, Rock or Steel-Type Trainer | Training gives additional +50 to POKE XP Gain to Ground, Rock and Steel Types for a Month, Adds 1 to Drilburs Evo Counter (Current: 0/?) | 25000 |
We don't know how much minerals Ruby will need, so it feels like a good idea to start now.
Rookie Pokemon Food | The minimum essentials meals, diets and vitamins for anyone wanting to become a Professional Trainer | Training gives +50 to POKE XP Gain for a Month. Effective up to Badge Level 4 | 35000 |
Possibly good for Renne, since that Quest of hers looks fairly hefty and we could use all the help we can get.
Basic Outdoors Cooking Supplies | A crucial component of any self sufficient Trainers inventory | Optional Tasks will not cost AP during the next Field Exercise. Usable for 2 Days during it (Accessible due to Cooking Club) | 40000 |
On the surface this looks good, but I think we can manage AP fine on that front, and we're gonna be strapped for cash enough as it is. The life of a trainer's bank account is defined by severe ups and downs it seems.
Objective: Have Renne be 5th Badge Strength by the end of Field Exercise 3: Future Sight, for a Massive Bond Increase (If Renne is 5th Badge and Bond 3 by the end of FE3, she will automatically be put at Bond 4 and evolve during a Decisive Confrontation.)
I haven't done the math, but this... feels plausible. I like the sound of evolution.

This is painful, I know. But it just manages to include most of what I want, so I think I can manage having no money.
More bonds with our team in Renne and Ruby, with Roland not having used his Goggles boost yet. More bonds with Erika or Ostia, the two people we're closest with in the class, and Manuel or Elise, when both probably have problems right now we could talk to them about, I'm willing to swap out the Wooden Blade for the Colored Pencils though. Atticus is just a cool dude I want to chat more with, and Theodora definitely has her own issues.
I want the Protect TM while it's at its cheapest, it will be useful, I can tell. I fought for it before, and I'm willing to fight for it now.
Finally, and certainly not least, Minerals for Ruby, I want an Excadrill, and who knows how long that will take. I can probably be argued to switch to regular pokemon food or another item though, or just drop it so we have some money left in the bank account. Two TR's of a chosen type, another Bond item, maybe even some Potions?
