I dont think we should really like ever not take minerals for ruby? its how she evolves and we have no idea how many that takes. we also really shouldnt neglect her, Renee and Roland have been with us for a while. we need to be good buddies with our team they are leaving behind everything they've ever known to join us.

before everyone makes plans, please know how required kofu coupon is. Do you know how funny it would be to take Erika out to dinner and not realize that its totally a date. it'd be fucking gold everybody. Manuel is already playing wingman for erika imagine how much worse it would get
I agree 1000%, I need to see this scene

The cooking supplies are probably the least useful thing on the list, in my opinion.
They free up a couple of AP during the next Field Exercise at an extremely significant opportunity cost now.
Probably the most necessary thing on the list is Ruby's minerals.
yeah, I agree with both of these points. personally I think my preferred purchase is probably this:

[] Plan Essentials and Bonding Materials
-[] Feline Pokemon Bed (10K)
-[] Weekly Special! TM Protect (40K)
-[] Basic Pokemon Food (Minerals) (25K)
-[] Kofu Coupon (7.5K)
-[] Wooden Blade/Colored Pencils (7.5K)

either leave us with 10K in free spending money or buy both Blade and Pencils, I think I prefer having a little bit of spending cash for stuff like Advanced Battle on hand next turn.
I think I prefer the Blade over the Pencils, since we're about to spend time with Theodora, but also really should check in on Elise

I also want to reiterate that we should consider exchanging TMs between class mates, especially with Protect after the way Renne had to work overtime to keep everyone safe in the last boss battle. @ArvisPresley Would it be possible to do a write-in action to investigate in-character whether it's possible to share TMs between people and if so set up a class-wide TM pool, since we all rely on each other in the FEs for safety?

Fantastic chapter as always.

As obvious as some shopping options are, it's super important to focus on aspects that have been neglected for too long. Getting the Small Gem Snacks would boost the next Ruby bonding event -- especially with this new quest of boosting Renne up, it becomes critical to focus on our three existing mons, their bond with each other and with Mary. Let's make them a real cohesive unit, and see how crazy we can make the next 2v3.

In addition, remember, Mariana is the Club President -- she needs to take care of her fellow students, and some need to be checked on. The Kofu Coupon is the obvious option that lets us check up on the blorbos; time with Erika is time well spent, and Ostia needs some time away from Raifort. Of course, the Wooden Blade would play double duty here, allowing her to get a little stronger and also check up on either Elise (how does she feel after the last fight?) or Manuel (is there another hilarious way he could play wingman for Erika? jokes aside, how does he feel?). If we lean into battling once more, there's of course the Battling Magazine; have we ever spent time with Jacinto or Nemona outside of a duel before? I'm of the opinion that Mary should get at least three bonding items focused on the trainers so she can catch up on her social duties.

All in all: everybody is sad, everybody needs a pickup. Let's do our job and give them a hand.

Okay so shopping. Our total account is 110000, and we shouldn't need to spend money on Advanced Battle based on the overall plan for the month. However, I don't think we have room for any money-making actions either.

Renne Bond item is 10000, that's mandatory
TM Protect is a good deal for something that will be enormously useful in non-single battles (e.g. every plot one).
Cooking supplies are trading cash for AP, which imo, is a good deal in principle, but the problem is that it's nearly half our cash on hand, and since we're powerleveling this month it might be better to spend 25k or 60k on food instead.

[ ] Plan: Goodbye Wallet, we hardly knew ye!
-[ ] Basic Pokemon Food (Minerals) Cost: 25,000 Poké
-[ ] Feline Pokemon Bed, Cost: 10,000 Poké
-[ ] Scale Polish, Cost: 10,000 Poké
-[ ] Weekly Special! TM Protect , Cost: 40,000 Poké
-[ ] Kofu Coupon, Cost: 7,500 Poké
-[ ] Potion Pack, Cost: 3,000 Poké
Total cost: 95,500 Poké
Poké left: 4,500

Here is my plan, any thoughts? Decided to not go for the Cooking supplies simce I think our only AP activities would be catching a mon, shopping, exploring, and scouting the gym? Well that and the optional tasks for S Rank. People will probably make a better list. But this is my 2 cents.

Yeah I'm thinking we save buying a cooking kit for an FE where we want to Gym AND catch a mon. Since we've committed to only doing one of the two this time I think we'll be okay? The other major FEAP sink was Bond points and there's cheaper ways to get those.

if we purchase the bondup items for Theodora would it pply to her this bon up event or no?

In addition, remember, Mariana is the Club President -- she needs to take care of her fellow students, and some need to be checked on
Hmmm.. good point... I can change the potions for another bond item, but that puts us in Dead broke. If I wajted all the human bomd items I would drop protect... but its effing PROTECT. We need that shit...
Soo... should I drop the potions?

Just saying, I'm already almost crying over the fact that we might have to fight some of the pokemon in the meeting in Renne's flashback as Shadow mons in the future, and I will full-on cry if we have to fight (and possibly kill) Renne's mom.

Protect TM and food for Ruby feel like the most important ones, like others have already said. The cooking supplies look mad tempting at first glance... But honestly, way more interested in just various bonding items, especially for our classmates. Gonna sleep on it though and hope I don't forget to vote when it opens up

I feel like the main thing I'd spend extra AP on in a FE is bonding actions anyway, so we may as well skip the middleman and just buy bond up items directly.

Definitely interested in Theodora's if it works this turn.

Ok, if we are skipping AP saver for money reasons, here is my plan based on the fact we have not yet interacted with Atticus, Manuel and Jacinto:
[] Plan: Oh Fuck We Poor Again
-[] Basic Pokemon Food (Minerals)
-[] Weekly Special! TM Protect
-[] Colored Pencils
-[] Battling Magazine Aug-2021 Edition
-[] Wooden Blade
-[] Feline Pokemon Bed

Estimated networth after: 2.5K.

[ ] Plan: Absolute Essentials
-[ ] Basic Pokemon Food (Minerals): 25k
-[ ] Feline Pokemon Bed: 10k
-[ ] Small Gem Snacks: 10k
-[ ] Scale Polish: 10k
-[ ] Basic Outdoors Cooking Supplies: 40k
Remainder: 5k

Gotta build up our bonds with our whole team to get them even more stronk, human friendships are way less important. Cooking Supplies to free up AP for more training. Losing Protect is a shame, but if we get strong enough, we won't even need it.

Edit: Changed the plan name to Team Mom for reasons

I feel like we should get the Rookie Pokemon Food. We've got 2 months to get Renne up to badge level 5, but she doesn't benefit from battle trainers until we get her to bond 3. Since she, well, you know, won't compete in regular battles until then. So, she kind of needs all of the bonus EXP she can get.

I feel like I should mention that Renne is currently 10k XP short of Badge Level 5. So we can calculate our XP from there to figure out how much we need. With 5 weeks and 2 field exercises to get there.

… Yeah, we're going to need to get Renne comfortable with trainer battles ASAP. Pure training only does 100-200 XP a pop, so she needs to start taking part in higher-XP fights to stand a chance of making it there.

Feline Pokemon BedA popular bed for some kinds of small PokemonNext Bonding Event with Renne will Greatly Increase Bond/Restocks Next Month10000

So, ignoring the laptop, we got a whole suite of bond boosting options, the Feline Bed feels mandatory, the Gem Snacks would be a good idea, and we already got an item needed to bond with Roland right now. For the humans, Kofu would be a good idea for the blorbos, but I think we should talk with some of the lesser known classmates like Jacinto, Manual, or Theodora. I'd say Atticus too, but I don't know how much of a problem he's having.

Like I said before, we can't go wrong with a Protect TM, everyone can learn it, it's a get out of jail free card at least once per battle, it will work wonders in non-single battles or fights, and it can be used to protect us in a pinch I'd wager. What if we teach the entire team Protect and then have a big huddle moment where they stack their Protect fields while on top of us so we don't get nuked by a Shadow Annihilape or whatever.

Meh.

We don't know how much minerals Ruby will need, so it feels like a good idea to start now.

Rookie Pokemon FoodThe minimum essentials meals, diets and vitamins for anyone wanting to become a Professional TrainerTraining gives +50 to POKE XP Gain for a Month. Effective up to Badge Level 435000
Possibly good for Renne, since that Quest of hers looks fairly hefty and we could use all the help we can get.

Basic Outdoors Cooking SuppliesA crucial component of any self sufficient Trainers inventoryOptional Tasks will not cost AP during the next Field Exercise. Usable for 2 Days during it (Accessible due to Cooking Club)40000
On the surface this looks good, but I think we can manage AP fine on that front, and we're gonna be strapped for cash enough as it is. The life of a trainer's bank account is defined by severe ups and downs it seems.

Objective: Have Renne be 5th Badge Strength by the end of Field Exercise 3: Future Sight, for a Massive Bond Increase (If Renne is 5th Badge and Bond 3 by the end of FE3, she will automatically be put at Bond 4 and evolve during a Decisive Confrontation.)
I haven't done the math, but this... feels plausible. I like the sound of evolution.

Current Cash: 100,000
[] Plan: Dirt Poor, but Rich in Friendship!
-[] Feline Pokemon Bed
-[] Small Gem Snacks
-[] Kofu Coupon
-[] Wooden Blade
-[] Weekly Special! TM Protect
-[] Basic Pokemon Food (Minerals)
Cost: 100,000
Remaining Cash: Zero

This is painful, I know. But it just manages to include most of what I want, so I think I can manage having no money.

More bonds with our team in Renne and Ruby, with Roland not having used his Goggles boost yet. More bonds with Erika or Ostia, the two people we're closest with in the class, and Manuel or Elise, when both probably have problems right now we could talk to them about, I'm willing to swap out the Wooden Blade for the Colored Pencils though. Atticus is just a cool dude I want to chat more with, and Theodora definitely has her own issues.

I want the Protect TM while it's at its cheapest, it will be useful, I can tell. I fought for it before, and I'm willing to fight for it now.

Finally, and certainly not least, Minerals for Ruby, I want an Excadrill, and who knows how long that will take. I can probably be argued to switch to regular pokemon food or another item though, or just drop it so we have some money left in the bank account. Two TR's of a chosen type, another Bond item, maybe even some Potions?

I think most of us want that protect TM, and the mineral food and cat bed seem to be leading the charge as well, so really the rest of our cash should be on bond items. We do have a Theodora bond event coming up and we do get a bit of cash from the tournament so we wont be flat broke for too long.... Our highest bonds are Erika, Ostia and Nemona (i think) so maybe we should get the items that raise bonds with the other classmates? Hmm, i might drop the potions and Scale polish from my plan...

At least when we get Renne to bond 3 and badge level 5, we don't have to worry about her bond level/event until the end of FE 3, we can then shift focus to someone else until then

I'm getting 7 or 8 weeks total, depending on whether you count this one?

I'm getting 7 or 8 weeks total, depending on whether you count this one?
Each Field Exercise takes a week, so it's 5 normal turns and 2 week-long Field Exercises to reach 5-badge level. And the deadline is the end of the second Field Exercise.

After this week, of course, but we're not doing anything to train Renne this week, so it doesn't count.

Renne is, but that doesn't stop the former from giving her and her siblings a big tight hug. She feels the tears forming in the corner of her eyes dry up as the soothing warmth of Mother's collar fur caresses her, Teta and Jace; causing the latter two to laugh and giggle.
Probably should be Jade. Though I'm sure she could be a great Mind Sculptor if she tried.

"Momma! Help me! My Head hurts!" Renne desperately tries to cry out, but her own voice is drowned out by first the deafening noise and then by the agonized screech of what seems like Lord Scolipede in pain. What's happening?!

I figured something like this happened to her, but damn if I'm not still sad to see it confirmed.

Her little sisters were right there when she lost control of the incredible destructive Espurr powers. That's... that's a big oof.

Hol'up, aren't they married? Are they siblings now in this timeline? Or is this just trying to say that they are both professors?
It's a common thing in fanfiction, but as I understand things they're not married in canon. Heck, they don't exist in the same canons. And I'm not sure if any other official media tries to merge the Scarlet and Violet versions together. Even Horizons just uses Scarlet.

It's easier to make Arven's unnamed mom in Violet be Sada or his unnamed Father in Scarlet be Turo. But it's just a matter of convenience in the end. He has a named mom and a named dad. Just not at the same time. Might as well use both.
