For me location vote will be more about average quality of the mon than any specific mon.

Choice of specific mon for me is going to be based on personality/plothook description we get of the actual mons.

[] When In Rime
[] Cortondo Cart

Take these two to make all of the Tasks go easier.

Get 3rd Pokemon before Gym Leader.

Normally I try and do every task to get the best grade, but that may not be viable with our AP. I would focus on the tasks and see if you can get a 3rd Pokemon while doing the tasks. Right? Most of the tasks will involve Pokemon in some way.

Honestly, I was leaning way more into Charcadet or one of the Tinkaton bisharp but the task has me really kind of wanting to do the Teddiursa, I love the mystical feeling and I think it'd give the little guy/gal/bear an interesting personality to bounce off, also Ursaring and Ursaluna are just cool mons. I'd be down for going for the Teddiursa as a physical brawler needs, with the additional strength from the Biome it'd also make the gym challenge easier. while giving us a (potential) 3 stage evolution physical brawler mon that connects with domains and that aspect of the story. I think that's definitely my angle on which mon to catch here. (it also helps that I dont see Teddiursa round very much in protag teams, so it feels more unique and i like it, but this is way more of an aside bias)
I second this, Teddiursa is super cute and the possibility of Ursaluna is so deeply exciting for me because it's my favourite pokémon to come out of Legends: Arceus.

I just love that lazy bear.

And if I really really have to talk meta, assuming Ursaluna is a possibility (which isn't confirmed I think? Feel free to correct me), Normal/Ground is a very good offensive STAB combo and the Teddiursa line has a really fucking wide movepool to cover any weaknesses, which Ursaluna can abuse because it's pretty bulky and also "punch a legendary in the face" strong.

There's also Ursaluna-BM shenanigans, but I honestly prefer regular 'Luna.

While Nacli is still my number 1 pick, something to consider aboutTeddiursa: Extremely Hugable. Imagine if (read: when) Mariana has a anxiety attack and no friends/classmates are around. Enter this smoll hug-shaped bear that she can hug like a stuffed animal.

And also becomes a great wrestling partner once it evolves.

That's an odd case where a mon isn't legendary because its some kind of demigod, but rather because it was born through such strange circumstances that its basically one of a kind.
no, Blood Moon isn't a legendary because it just isn't a legendary. It's just a unique? individual of the species that adapted to a different environment (Kitakami). Like you say, it's just a different ursaluna. And also not one we'd be likely to be able to reproduce even if it hadn't been Vetoed by the QM

Going for Teddiursa would make them a late 1 badge to early 2 badge strength, so the only thing to worry about is bond level, shame about blood moon not being available

so the only thing to worry about is bond level,
Well, no, that's not the only thing to worry about. Overall teamcomp is important too, y'know? Teddiursa might be enough for this specific gym, but it's a less than stellar fit on our team. Not awful; it and Roland potentially pair well... but not as well as a Steel type would fit with our team as a whole.

Nah.

Like not to be dismissive but you can generally get around it. With Arvis' system any Pokémon is viable to use, and many Pokémon can get the type coverage with TM's or just natural Learnsets. Teamcomp is kinda lowered along with those things. The only things we're truly looking for in a teamcomp is "Can it fly?" and "Can it mend the Stakes" (As Flying would cover Swimming and we already have a teleporter)

How dare you try to give away Ostia's job?

Bloodmoon Ursaluna isn't Legendary with a capital L. But it's something about which there are legends. So it is, by definition, legendary.

Hell, mechanically speaking a case could be made for the capital. Its BST isn't free of Legendaries since it shares 555 with the Loyal Three. It can produce an egg with a Ditto, but so can Manaphy. And the resulting Teddiursa is just as incapable of evolving into its non-Ditto parent as a Phione.

Same case for Eternal Flower Floette. It technically shares a name with another Pokémon, but by all other metrics it's something unique which isn't playing by the same rules as non-Lgendary Pokémon (Hey, Legends Z-A, give me my god damn Eternal Flower Floette. I want to Light of Ruin things).

It's an entirely extraneous debate (I call it: Mythotaxonomy) since we won't get either. But still.

... So does that mean there's are evolution conditions for Hisuian Starters that aren't "Level up while being in Ancient Hisui"?

Interesting. Though unlikely to be too relevant.

Overqwil my beloved.
I want the Basculegion. It's just unstoppably metal. "Clad in the souls of its fallen comrades" is peak tragic shonen. Not even death can stop the power of friendship.

Plus it's a Ghost type. you know you want it.

Teamcomp is important, and it does have a place, but tbh unless I'm playing on Smogon/VGC where stats and teamcomp are everything, I tend to view Pokémons the same way I view Gundams: it's the Gundam that chooses you, and not the other way around.

And in the end this is a quest, so narrative takes precedence for me over meta considerations. I think Teddiursa is an adorable blorbo, I love Ursaluna to death, and the mention of shrines in hidden places alongside the Teddiursa line's connection to the Moon intrigues me.

And that's all the justification I need for my pick tbh, but I'm fine with whatever, except ironically maybe Tinkatink but mostly because I don't really care about the Knights lol.

Hisuian Samurott is an extended Oda Nobunaga reference so it's achievable.

Hisuian Decidueye is from the Rowlett line adapting to living in a very cold mountainous environment so it's achievable but only if that Rowlet is raised from birth there.

Hisuian Typhlosion is ???
