Alright, Final changes
1= Interesting Wildlife
2= Salt
3= Aluminium
4= Lithium
5= Fossil Fuel
6= Quarry Stone
7= Geothermal Activity
8= Gems
9= Radioactive Elements
10= Small Eezo Deposit

Anyone have any objections?

3 and 4 could be replaced with light and heavy metals, but that's rather nitpicking and dependent on weather you want specific or generalized resources.

Aluminum to be made into transparent aluminum for super bullet proof glass and Lithium for Lithium Batteries so they'll be fairly valuable. If I put Light and Heavy Metals that would mean making another list and we already have heavy metals in general prospecting roll. I have no idea what to put in Light metals that would be useful to a space faring civilization other than aluminum.

While not wanting to shift the work of choosing a name to our QM, As the colonial manager I would suggest the Lake Towns' new inhabitants be given the opportunity to choose a name for their home themselves, within reason. No "Lake mc'Lake face."

Maar lake?
That's my tentative guess as a possible name for the lake given how it would look like the lake was the result of a explosion (and a geologist mentioned how it looked like one)...

O'neil Cylinder space habitat why dont GDI have one of these babies? saves on space, spreads humans in a solar system in a reasonable manner, can be used as a space port for GDI ships mining colonies would have a resting port nearby. Can put factories and the like on them. Defending them with Ion cannons would be easy with firing arcs capable of interconnecting so two or more can fire at a target uninterrupted.

That is so beautiful...

And a beautiful "TAKE THAT!" to the Council.

What makes you think GDI doesn't? After all, we've got no idea of just how extensively the Sol System is colonized. Using O'Neill Colonies is a good way of spreading the human population throughout the system, and keeping people near Earth or other colonies where large populations on the ground are less advised. Also has the advantage that if absolutely needed, O'Niell Colonies are pretty decent interstellar lifeboats/colony ships if you refit them with an STL or FTL drive.

Which is something that GDI's going to keep in mind because after everything that's happened to humanity, and how they know that there's one active hostile alien civilisation and one recently alive but now disappeared alien civilisation... Well, they're definitely going to be paranoid about ensuring that there's as many ways to have it so that humanity survives if the worst does happen. The colonisation drive throughout the recently uncovered Relay network is another aspect of it. Because it gives easy and fast access to a large number of solar systems, with a tendency for them to possess easily colonisable worlds or an abundance of important minerals.

Thus giving a lot of resources and locations to further spread out and develop humanity so any civilisation ending apocalypse is needs to be bigger and thus harder to occur. The fact that the Relays work as a network of chokepoints also helps reduce some of the concern involved with using them. Seeing as it means that if they do run into a hostile alien civilisation using them, they've got a bottleneck which they can fortify the hell out of whilst working out how they're going to solve or escape the new existential crisis.

50$ that one or more of the habitats have a suspicious amount of storage of raw materials and manufacturing combined with an inactive Orion pulse drive. Probably one of these.

$50 that that by itself is not enough to hide from reapers.(Nuclear detonations are a massive signal. Combine with the most advanced FTL and limited destinations, and the poor arks are dead.)
