There Was A Different Idea: An MCU Producer Quest

What are the circumstances of Fox's ownership of Daredevil? Is there some requirement they have to meet by x-date or do just own it fully and Disney bought it back IRL?
They're on a clock, if they don't do something with Daredevil then it reverts.

In real-world they failed to do so, but they did write a script and attempt to produce the film, it just fell through. In this universe they may well manage to renew those rights.

Because I think it would be a great place to put ongoing flashbacks to young Tony and Young Rhodie as BFFs at MIT. It lets us have a discount Tony for the flashbacks and a pair of smart engineering students is a great contrast to military and espionage action.

For Iron Fist, I could see starting with Heros for hire, and having Luke and Danny backplot slowly show up. Then grow an ensemble cast, with people getting focus episodes woven in.

Edit: also

Hmm, that's an interesting possibility too. Heroes for hire could be a really interesting option to start with. Plus it could be a nice way to balance the show by having a kind of buddy cop dynamic with Luke Cage and Iron Fist teaming up right away. Perhaps could have flashback moments dropped throughout the seasons for both characters to establish some of the finer details of their backstories. Could definitively be a lot more fun than just Iron Fist.

But I think for this it would be best if we specifically picked a write-in series "Heroes For Hire" so we could give Luke Cage equal billing and importance in the story. Plus I think the name Heroes For Hire might draw in more of an audience with average TV watchers compared to "The Immortal Iron Fist".

Also, just like CW's Legends of Tomorrow, we could have the show develop a kind of ensemble cast. So characters that become fan favorites can join the team and become recurring while the in-universe business expands, while if another character / actor is ready to call it quits or move on to the big league, they can reduce their presence in the show to a more cameo level.

It's also a great way to introduce a lot of street-level side characters for both future heroes and especially villains.

Edit: Especially if we want to eventually do Heroes For Hire in the future, it would be much harder if we already have an "Immortal Iron Fist" series. Changing the name of that show to Heroes For Hire would be a headache and mess, and keeping it branded "Iron Fist" when he's only one part of a team would be insulting to the actor playing Luke Cage (and the character itself)

There's a really big problem here. We don't own the right's to Luke Cage right now, Sony does. You're putting the cart before the horse.

I initially wanted to go Iron Fist first, because TV show wise of the suggested options is probably ultimately the cheapest to produce and I quite liked the Marvel Netflix show principle of the more Street Level characters. Though Epps seems like a good choice for the stepping stone into Television, Hulk did well and deserves a movie instead of a show, I just think Sif and the Warriors will be too expensive. Epps I know can do television and piggybacks very well off of what we have done so far, and I think will give us the best initial chance of all the options.

[X] [Series] War Machine

War Machine has lots of potential as a TV series, because he's the only early example of a 'state-sponsored' superhero and that would lead to so many interesting plot points and opportunities for both character growth and world building. That being said, I'm going to hold steady on my vote of Iron Fist for now.

I'm just an absolute sucker for the idea, and I'd like a hero that leans more into the martial arts angle than the advanced technology/magic heroes we've got now.

Stahelski, Leitch? We need you for something real quick.
Yes I know Iron Fist is a magical character, but I also want to lean heavy into martial arts aspects (coughcough Pencak Silat coughcough) because that sounds badass and I want it
Gareth Evans. He did The Raid in 2011. He's also not a big director, so he should probably be up for doing a MCU TV show. And pencak silat fits well with what Evans is familiar with, so...

(Totes not part of my secret plan to get Joe Taslim into the MCU)

[X] [Series] The Immortal Iron Fist

I'm okay with doing War Machine too (if it wasn't the leading option I'd have probably voted for it), since he's both well-known enough and not gonna cost an arm & leg (IRL bias towards Gal Gadot may be in play here).

I really wanna do Iron Fist right (or more accurately, I want to do it better than canon), though.

[X] [Series] War Machine

A show about war machine can really let fans peak into the government and military reactions to the new age of heroes. Iron Fist honestly should be a movie.
