I find myself extremely indecisive on this one. Anybody got any compelling cases they'd like to make?

Synod of Dantooine Pt. 3
Synod of Dantooine Pt.3

"I move that the local councils remain, as it was before the Shadow Wars, chosen by members of the High Council Dantooine." Your tone is positively stone as you speak. "I don't want a thousand Revans running around, giving credence to all sorts of mad ideas about the Force or the Order's position. Comments, questions from the rest of you."

"The Dragon devours what slays the hydra." Atton draws his hands up as you all give him a look, "what? It's a saying from a backwater I hid out on before the Peragus, don't look at me like that."

"Atton's right. Ew." Mira's thoughts.

"Whatever mistakes the Councils of old made, ensuring one Order was not among." Mical.

"I don't know, I have often asked myself whether it may not have helped keep the Jedi honest if someone of even theoretical equality to the High Council was about, having their own ideas." Juhani speaks now.

"Whatever we may gain through such independence, we will lose as the neuroses of the Lower Councils play out among themselves and among their Jedi." Bastila, then.

The rest are simple ayes, every Jedi on the Council outside of Juhani backing it.

"Very well. The matter passes."

(Gained +4 to Hundred Bonfires Infrastructure as the construction of the Order takes a more centralized approach)

"Now then, as to the matter of the fact finding debate..."

"I still say we should send-"

"I will ask, for volunteers." Your voice brooks no argument, cold and dark and raspy. "Since the rest of you apparently do not know how to disagree like adults."

Soon enough Juhani, Mical, 3 Sentinels, a Guardian, and a Consular are all getting ready to infiltrate Hutt space, which mostly means getting a dirty enough spacesuit and a blaster to use for light work.

After that, there are a few extraneous matters of administration to deal with; but soon enough, you are back to work, with the Synod ended.

Alright, so. My only excuse is that time slipped away from me. I apologize, and a mission Report should be up soon.

You're you, Atton, you should know that when you start waxing poetic people are going to give you looks.

*snort* Bao-Dur can be snarky.

Mission Report 3944 BBY Q4
Mission 1 (Grandmaster Bao-Dur, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Consular, 3 Padawans, The Core)
-Grandmaster Bao-Dur-

The Yuuzhan Vong have apparently stumbled onto something strange. They are being reticent in describing what, or who, but have requested our help as it is, apparently, "a duty more suited for your talents." I can only hope they have not deceived me.

Mission 2 (1 Jedi Guardian, 1 Jedi Sentinels, 2 Padawans, The Mid-Rim)
-Knight Katra Hyl-

The world of Phorsa Gedd is having a problem in its factories. Laborers injured at an alarming rate, supply chain disruption, agitation among the lower classes. All there.

Unfortunately Master Juhani is not here to guide us; but we shall, nevertheless, press on.

Mission 3 (Councilor Mira, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Consular, 3 Padawans, The Outer Rim)
-Padawan Volo Kal-

Money and power, power and money. It seems that is all anyone cares for anymore.

Take, for example, Galrand Vals. A Neimoidian, money disappears into the maw of his account and does not reappear in taxes, nor in trade, from his account. Such is bad enough the Lenders' Association has requested we look into the matter.

And so the Jedi, who are meant to protect the weak and the innocent, instead help the loansharks...

Mission 4 (Councilor Atton Rand, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 3 Padawans, The Colonies)
-
Councilor Atton Rand-

A slave auction. Yes, more of those, right under our noses. Almost makes you think maybe the Republic should try and have some sort of central agency dedicated only to this, am I right? Bad news, there's about a million of the bastards just waiting for us.

Good news: about 95% have a bounty of one sort or another.
--
Mission 5 (Councilor Visas Marr, Knight Atris, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 3 Padawans, the Expansion Regions)
-Knight Atris-

Yet more slavers. Feeding an auction in the Colonies that Master Atton is no doubt sniffing out as we speak. What he couldn't tell you is what the slavers are trading for, or from.

They are receiving various low grade sweeteners, in return for ravaging various archaic worlds and species, ranging from Neolithic hunter-gatherers to Imperial Era nation-states one thing is consistent: vast populations are being kidnapped and shipped to act as living currency for their drug. We have received a tip, however, on which world will be next attacked.

We will be ready for them.

Well. The Yuuzhan Vong weren't lying when they said this was more in our wheelhouse.

In neutral territory, on the far side of their space, they have discovered a world and species of more than a little interest: a universally Force-Sensitive band of Arkanianoids, who despite lacking advanced technology ply the stars on living behemoths that are naturally capable of breaking into hyperspace.

These Anurions are of a universally self-assured nature, sometimes leaking into arrogance, though always tempered by a keen sense of Compassion. Still, they are an independent lot.

I will be the first to admit, Tanagrian factories are a bit behind the galactic curve. But Kriff's sake, at least we didn't remove safety marks because they clashed with the aesthetic desire of the Diamond Brat who tossed us our capital! By the stars, this is madness they indulge in and they don't even realize it.

Somebody needs to put a stop to this, before anybody gets sent home in a body bag.

Mission 3 (Councilor Mira, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Consular, 3 Padawans, The Outer Rim)
-Padawan Volo Kal-

Curiouser and curioser! No-one can even offer a consistent description of what he looks like. He's apparently short, gray, big-eyed as well as tall, blue, and with hunter eyes. Assuming, of course, that he is not actually a she, as some insist.

Now I may be an Outer Rim yokel, but I know Bantha pies when I see one. Something funky is happening here, and I will get to the bottom of it or my name isn't Volo.
--
Mission 4 (Councilor Atton Rand, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 3 Padawans, The Colonies)
-
Councilor Atton Rand-

Well. I've got an army of bad people, to give even worse people the thrashing of a life time. Let's see if Rand's still got it, unlike his arms, shall we?
--
Mission 5 (Councilor Visas Marr, Knight Atris, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 3 Padawans, the Expansion Regions)
-Knight Atris-

-Sounds of blaster fire, artillery shots, explosions and fighters overhead-

When we leave, and we will leave one day, the people of this world will need to defend themselves. So I am training them, as is the rest of the party. A dangerous decision, perhaps, but is it less dangerous, morally or practically, than allowing them to be threatened by slavers for the rest of their lives?
--
Mission 1 (Grandmaster Bao-Dur, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Consular, 3 Padawans, The Core)
-Grandmaster Bao-Dur-

The Anurion respect wisdom, almost as much as they respect themselves.

But I can't help but shake the feeling there is something they're hiding from me. Something they are reticent about. Certainly they have been very unforthcoming about showing us their homeworld, which is fair enough, I haven't exactly carted any of their Savants to Coruscant. But I am afraid it represents a deep, deep rift between us that no shared love of the Force has, hitherto, managed to break.

-Knight Katra Hyl-

Well.

I did not expect to accidentally precipitate a revolution, but I won't apologize, particularly since they won. Lonmus, the slimeball in charge of the factory, is currently awaiting extradition to a very secure prison while the People's Power Party seems set to sweep into parliament on a tide of nothing short of reasonably peaceful revolution, if one only carried out through the threat of force. It seems the rich decided losing their things was a better bet than losing their lives.

Better yet, they have requested we deploy Sentinels on a semi-permanent basis, to help ensure the plucking out of corruption by the roots.

All in a day's work for the Jedi.

He is a they. Galrand Vals is not a single person, but a team of people, essentially working to bilk venture capitalists out of their ill-gotten gains to redirect their credits to the poor and needy; outside of Republic jurisdiction at that.

I have offered several suggestions to the Lender's Association and to Galrand as well. In return for not revealing the embarrassing truth, they have been allowed to enter politics on a platform of sweeping wealth redistribution, unionization, and free and fair elections. They seem poised to win.

Mission 4 (Councilor Atton Rand, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 3 Padawans, The Colonies)
-
Councilor Atton Rand-

Shock and awe: a bunch of bullies who mostly threaten people who can't fight back lost their shit when they were staring down the hilt of a lightsaber. They raced at us, and we beat them; their victims, as much as we are able, will be returned to their homeworlds.

CLASSIFIED 1AUREK

And for the record? I say the Hutt deserved everything he got and more.
--
Mission 5 (Councilor Visas Marr, Knight Atris, 1 Jedi Sentinel, 1 Jedi Guardian, 3 Padawans, the Expansion Regions)
-Knight Atris-

With Atton's victory over their buyers, the slaver mercenaries were quick to retreat, particularly after we presented the disciplined, united front to them.

Atris pauses. She thinks.

And then she begins to speak:
"We introduced interstellar war to a people unused to it. We slaughtered in the name of a would-be god-king. We have been the party of executions, reprisals, and crimes.

But I can live with it. I. I can live with that. I lived with inaction, and now I live with action.

Delete last section."

Are you quite sure you don't wanna read the Kotor comic? :p

Went back to the stats page for our Jedi to take a look. Can we all admire for just a moment how amazing Bao-Dur is? An overall badass in every way; it makes me wonder what stats on the prequel era of Jedi would be. Just for comparisons sake.

Seems like someone is abusing their power and taking advantage of the masses.

When you think about the responsibilities of a jedi, catching someone from tax fraud is not normally on the list.

Hah, that was a surprising end.

Hmm.

"We introduced interstellar war to a people unused to it. We slaughtered in the name of a would-be god-king. We have been the party of executions, reprisals, and crimes.
The heck? Is this a quote from somewhere? Slavers introduced war to a pre-space society. Defense of the innocent (and teaching the innocent self defense) is not slaughter. What god-king? Executions are kinda common when dealing with slavers, especially if slavery is a capital crime, deserving of capital punishment. I'd imagine reprisal against said slavers would be justified. What crimes?

I'm so confused.

Atris' opinions and beliefs need not be tied to facts. Pretty sure kotor2 illustrated that.
