As great a charm as EDM is, the mote commitment and once-per-story limitation makes me leery of using it on Kin today, if at all.Investigation charms would likely be better right now. Find out what makes her tick.

We definitely want it in the medium term at the latest, but instabuying doesn't seem like the best idea right now.
While I may completely not agree with your view on Kin, I have to point out that EDM is actually extremely useful a charm and applicable to a ludicrous number of things if used correctly.I don't really care about Kin enough to spend our hard earned XP on a charm so this situation goes perfectly. Tenten can handle it fine without a charm.
The reason why is that it bypasses the dicepool maximum problem (that is, that we are limited in any roll to our Attribute+Ability maximum dice) by lowering the penalties on almost two thirds the rolls (social, dramatic and mass combat) that concern the character we have profiled.
This amounts to effectively up to five extra dice that we can use whenever we interact with / against a profiled character. Use it on chessmasters or BBEGs and preternaturally predict their plans, talk them to death and raze their armies. So good.
Whether we use it on Kin or not (which, as I mentioned before, I'd suggest against), EDM should not be something we should have to deal without. It's absolutely worth our XP, especially given we have Investigation favored and meet the minimum requirements already.
