The Power(Harry Potter/The Gamer)

Meeting up with Hermione was a bit more difficult. Moody claimed that he'd been tasked with protecting you, and that's what he planned to do, but he couldn't easily fit in in the Muggle world. So he made use of a disillusionment spell, which turned him nearly invisible, even hiding the words above his head.
So anyone who uses the disillusionment spell or an invisible cloak can hide from our sight no matter if there directly in front of us? Good to know.

Ah, this shit again.

It's already been discussed and mocked on SB again and again, but I'm not sure it's been done on SV, so I'll just go out and say it.

Please tell me what exactly the army is supposed to do against teleporting, mind-controlling, sense-dominating and illusion-crafting superhumans with incredibly versatile powersets who can quite likely shut down everything they can put towards an immediate response on a whim and who cannot be tracked and can hide their activities and hideouts against muggles perfectly? Or even how they're supposed to handle Dementors, for that matter.

Nukes.

in all honesty they are not very usefull though snipers are of good use

That could be handy.
I suggest Sleep and Unseen Servant next. Pretty good options in general.
[X] Sleep
Is Sleep better than Stupefy? Cause if not, I'd think we should get something else, cause we can get a spell that knocks people out easily enough.
Hey, we can CONSUMEread the Invisible Book of Invisibility now.
Int might not be high enough, if it's figuring off of base INT without any bonuses.
[X] Protection From Evil
Already got it, check the front page

So ... they're going to nuke their own cities and kill millions to kill terrorists who they can never really know are there and who can teleport away out of range immediately if they feel any danger?

Because wizarding populations exist within existing muggle settlements, for the most part, outside of Hogsmeade (which, notably, is the only purely wizarding village in Britain).

As mentioned, there are numerous magical defenses that can be applied, in addition to the fact that snipers are a non-entity when it comes to the hit-and-run tactics used by wizards, in addition to the fact that they can't get the drop on wizards - because, again, muggle repelling charms, unplottable charms and various magical protections means they can never even find them, let alone set up positions to deal with them.

EDIT: Sorry if this is sounding harsh, but a moment's thought would make it clear why wizards were needed to deal with wizards, even leaving out stuff like Dementors.

meeting with minister fudge should be avoided as the his advisor is likely malfoy

So? it would be good to get on top of that issue ASAP ( maybe pick up a socail skill while we are at it)

[X] Meet with Hermione to study
-[X] Optional: Tell her about your gamer power(Takes 1 additional time slot, special event)

We dont know her well enough to tell her of gamer yet I would sugest we save that till at least hogwarts

Malfoy isn't Fudge's advisor, by the by. He's connected, and his money certainly opens some doors for him, but as of the present moment his level of influence in the ministry is relatively minor, from what we know.

-[x] Perhaps do something together in their greenhouse?
(We missed Neville last week, and hung out with Hermoine )

[x] Do mini-quests around the neighborhood(+rep with Privet Drive, +EXP, +British Pounds)
-[x] Our normal money is almost out. And its needed for books.
[x] Buy more books(Specify muggle or magical. )
-[x] Muggle. Two weeks left, while there is the freedom to just go out and buy books.
[x] Train with Mad-Eye Moody(Increase to defense, and potential of increase to physical stats)
[x] Run dungeons!
-[x] Try to Invite Moody to our party.
-[x] And do the Dungeons together.

[X] Write-In - Sit down and experiment with the less flashy side of your powers. You've seen Dudley playing video games before. Is there a limit to your inventory? Can you form a party? Is there a weight limit to the sort of things you can keep in your inventory?
-[X] While you're at it, buy back the Near-Sighted trait. Being The Gamer is great, but it would suck if someone knocked off your glasses and left you helpless.
[X] Free action: Distribute stats! +3 to INT +2 to WIS.

edit: the write in subvote is less specifically for those things, and more a general guideline to give Harry a push on thinking outside of the box, since he's already expressed a willingness to exploit the system.

He was joking. The very next line even agreed with you. Not only that, but can we not bring this up? This thread has enough trouble with staying on topic already.

Anyway, can someone provide a link for the spells? I'm pretty sure I saw a link earlier in the thread, but I have no idea what page it was.

EDIT:

Never mind, DragonParadox beat me to it. On that note, thank you for linking to the spells in question!

Ah, my apologies. I must have missed that.

I did have to address the sniper comment, though.

And you're right, I'll drop it. Anyone who wants to continue this discussion can PM me. Or, better yet, there's a poster called Reece on SB who's taken part in such discussions a lot and can probably manage a better discussion, so you can check him out.

Here are the spells i think would be useful:

Write

Unseen Servant

Tenser's Floating Disc

Of these I think Write is the most important since it lets us transfer our D&D spells to normal wizards.
The Floating Disc won't be very useful since we have a infinite inventory, and I honestly don't see much use in making D&D spells other wizards can use, atleast currently. Later on, sure, but right now we got better things to do, and not that many awesome spells to give.

Then the chances are good that his advisor is....Umbridge.

Can the meeting with Fudge be fused with the meeting with Dumbledore? Talking to both at the same time should keep them from doing anything monumentally stupid, especially if you invite Moody and/or Amelia along. Preferably and.

Also, someone already mentioned this but you can now absorb the Invisible Book of Invisibility. That stuff would be extremely useful in not getting mobbed in a dungeon.

@Halpo133 Just out of curiosity, can write be bent into writing mundane things, or does it strictly only work with magical writing? Pointing at a scroll and casting "write" would certainly free up time that would otherwise spent be doing homework.

They are separate for a reason. Moody would be going along regardless. Amelia is too busy.

Not voting yet, but why don't you guys do the Mad-Eye training two times? I can't imagine that we will be able to see him ones we are in hogwarts.
I would like to meet Hermione and Neville again, but for that we will have time there.

I would propose:
- meet with the Minister
- meet with Dumbledore
- 2 x Training with Moody
- Buying books
