The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

I just want to see this star shine with all the glory it can bring.
Not to be (relatively) quickly overtaken by mere accumulation of skill and wealth.

[X] Faster is better. We want to infuse immediately.

Changing my vote. The more i think about it the more i just want to get started on Fa's Axe since i think we have been pretty shitty in repaying her for being such a good friend. I also would like to see Zhi flex at Mo's finale challenge with the completed Fractal, as much as I would like to DD i just want to get this massive burden over with so we can start clearing up our schedule a bit.

If any charms are double downed it should be this one. Fa's axe can be more workmanly by comparison: she wants it to kill things with. Slight imperfections are more acceptable.

People keep saying "oh we don't need FV for the Deer fight so DDing is fine" are missing the point I feel. The reason to finish FV is to finish it and free up 6-7 actions to do other things - like more socials with our friends, or finding wonders and integrating techniques. Not to have it for any particular fight. If you would rather spend 6-7 actions on perfecting FV because that's what you think Zhi would do, that's fine. But don't think that committing to DD means we have *less* pressure to work on FV - given we've committed to a whole extra week of actions on it, it means *more* pressure.

I think a lot of this line of arguing is in response to people saying they would like to have Fractal for the fight. Which is totally understandable (but not necessary imo lol).

Each side has 3-4 arguments and counter arguments behind it. End of the day, I'd rather invest those 5-6 extra actions into making our masterpiece charm better, and more likely to scale with us for longer than if we don't DD.

There's plenty of cool stuff I would like to use those 5-6 actions on, such as Regalia searching or working on Fa's axe 2-3 weeks earlier or sparring with Sun. But the opportunity cost that we get from those 6 actions aren't high enough to beat the benefit of a DD Fractal. Probably.

I don't know about everyone else but that's not the reason I care about. The choice here is to sink more time into it or not, and both are perfectly valid. I get that it'll take time to do and that means less time spent on other things, and I am okay with that. Because I think AFV is, at this point in time, literally the most important charm we have ever made, made with a legendary gemstone from Kong Shuren's personal collection, will not only fix our limbs but give us cool transformation powers, and I don't care how many actions we have to spend on it to make it the best it can be.

Also, for people who are saying our family just wants us to fix this, so we should get on with it: well, what our family said was to go at our own pace, and I don't see why that's a reason against making it the best charm it can be, because a charm as important as this deserves that.

It's gonna be our crown jewel for quite awhile, I'd like it to be amazing, not just great.

If this were literally any other Charm, I wouldn't care. But this, it'd be harder to say what buttons it didn't push. I firmly believe that even if the Emperor Himself came in and said 'bow or die', Kong Zhi would drag his charred corpse back to the workshop to finish it before dying. So despite being tired of it, I can't in good conscience let it be anything less than our OCD, hyperfocused best.

It took five-six months for us to even bother getting started and that's only because Ves came in and forced people to vote to get Fractal moving.

If it was that important then we should've been doing it way earlier.

Nah, I think the issue was that it was so important people didn't want to work on yet on fear of wasting the only material we had with such narrative weight.

Now that we have begun working on it, it only seems fair to finish it to the best of our abilities.

Can't speak for everyone, but I was waiting so that we could maybe kill tiao and use it for parts. It's a matter of trying to make the b e s t charm possible. It's a pipe dream, mostly born from me not understanding the scale involved and sheer hate for those limbs, but that still doesn't change the fact that out of every charm we've ever made I still want it to be the best possible we can make.

This will, one way or the other, be the best charm we make for a while now from materials alone and we probably won't get something of this caliber again. Out of rarity and because the next we find we would be sending it home out of obligation. (I'd vote to at least) I understand all the arguments for just moving on, it's just that I don't care.

This whole thing makes me think of Junkyard Wars: Cultivator edition. I really wanna read that now.

Ngl this is a tough decision, but I feel that this is a gift we treat with respect so my vote goes to

Even if it means we lose out on those other actions T_T
