Doesn't seem like it. No one was there to fight us. Lorgar Resistance was into the negatives so it seems like we kinda just strolled in and said "Serve the Emperor!" to a resounding response of "Emperor is Awesome! WOOO!!!" and then just went about checking stuff, found a bunch of really really nasty crap that would have wrecked us if Scafrir wasn't there, and DID wreck the Wolves. Probably turning at LEAST 6% of their legion to chaos.

Given it was in the negatives I frankly think it rather likely that rather than resistance there was outright rebellion against any authorities that still claimed loyalty to Lorgar after he had been declared a traitor, and everyone was welcoming the loyalist forces when they arrived.

Yeah, that was basically my understanding. He went out of his way to make his realm Fanatically Loyal to the Emperor... and apparently not nearly so much to himself. Thankfully we caught onto things in time to stop him from changing that. Though Colchis having lots of corruptive things... was probably signficantly less pleasant.

didn't the planet that Lorgar indoctrinated in canon held out against corruption to an insane degree in the Civil War

this is one of the few thing that total fanatic is good for

Lorgar's fanaticism tends to backfire on him a lot.

To be fair, if we got rid of Kor Phaeron and Erebus, Lorgar would solidly be a good guy and his fanaticism would be surprisingly useful. The work he did with it in the early days was most definitely useful, without it the Imperium of Mankind would be in a more precarious situation than they already were in canon, just going, to be honest.

I mean, we all shit on Lorgar for good reason. But out of all the primarchs.... he did some of the hardest work to ensure the IOM stuck around all on accident, but still useful.

I meant that backfired as soon as he turned, but yeah if he stayed loyal then he would have been incredibly useful

That was the entire point of my statement, his fanaticism created a rather loyal populace that would form the core of the IOM furthering it's chances of survival and ability to weather the foes they faced. That said, it's also a terrible trait to have against you since it inspires and creates such zealous and fanatic enemies.

Is Sacrementum I doing soylent green?

Edit: I accidentally said Sacrementum II, and hope I did not cause another administratum back up, as horrifyingly funny as they are.

Edit: Edit: I see someone already made a joke on that. Though I am curious about that.
Why would they need a primarch of all people? Unless it is super soylent green.

If they can influence a Primarch its a bigger hit to the Imperium.

I could imagine nurglites smiling and offering corruption "cookies", thinking it will work.

Edit: maybe even a pair of nurglites dressed like grandparents.
That does seem to be their thing. It makes sense to them. They legitimately believe they are being kind and helpful. Which is the scariest part of them really.

Do remember an interesting take on Tzeentch Followers, they can be the "Bringers of Hope" and be devoted to such a thing alongside the planning stuff. Nurgle isn't the only one who has a niche in kindness, he's just the only one who actively indulges in it.

Then the cookies have birdseed in them then?

either they are are so tzeentchian that they forget how to be non-tzeentch non-bird people, or that is the hope-stealing, as you think it is going to be nice only to see they are inedible. Though primarchs can eat almost anything.

Yeah, its the indulgence in it that makes them scary. They smile kindly at you while infesting you with plague. Khorne has the whole honorable combat thing, and sometimes refuses to kill the weak due to the lack of challenge/honor in it. Though if they do, they'd be insulting about it. Tzeentch is the bringer of hope, but his whole change thing also means that its going to go all monkey paw on you. Slaanesh just has sensation. All of them. All the time. Until you need to be mutated to you can experience something new. But part of that will be pleasurable. Or at least, usually. Depends on who you run into.

That indulgence indeed really does honestly make them scary, and honestly if you've read Madhouse it's even worse.

that anti-AI stuff sounds like it might get us (some) resistance to scrap-code...or whatever the super-infectious super viruses are.

we should look into that actually. I could see Kesar or a assistant realizing that since things with no soul are vulnerable to chaos, our computers/tech could be infected easily...so maybe somebody proposes a purity-rune off-shoot specifically for protecting computers/similar from infection?

so rather then cleaning taint in the area in general, it resists/slows attempts to corruption...so maybe a "ward"-offshoot of the purity rune

actually, that kinda prompts me to also offer the alternative off-shoot of a "cleansing rune" which does the opposite....it doesn't resist active attempts of corruption much but does a good job of cleaning passive taint.

With how are legion and the Sisters of Silence fight so hard together, they are almost like real brothers and sisters.

Or am I overlooking something?

So, rolls are weird in this, so I'll go through them. The power source continues to elude you. Hades is taken very quickly and Liekana IV Eldar would have literally set up nightmarish stuff get absolutely rekt. Rekti goes poorly, with a bad roll for you. Scafrir and Leman get along great and purge the shit out of Colchis, but wait, what's that roll. *Giggles in GM* Lion takes care of Lorgar's realm which was already loyal. The Scouts near the Eye get little, but they don't fall and they do find a good location, but they haven't found Cadia yet. And then, I used an Omake to make you pass the corruption resistance roll on Sacrementum.

Power Source: 17 + 40 (Kesar) + 40 (Warptech) + 20 (Researches) = 117

Hades II Wardens: 77 + 20 (Astartes) + 20 (Mechanicus Support) + 10 (Good Positioning) + 10 (Equipment, Mark IIB Armor) + 5 (Daemonic Horde) = 142
Hades II Man of Iron: 17 + 20 (Defenses) + 10 (Limited Production) = 47

Liekana IV: 100 + 20 (Astartes) + 10 (Equipment, Mark IIB Armor) = 130
Liekana IV Eldar Shenanigans: 26 + 20 (Eldar) + 50 (Farseer) + 20 (Preparation) =116

Rekti II: 4 + 20 (Astartes) + 25 (Sisters of Silence) + 10 (Equipment, Mark IIB Armor) + 5 (Daemonic Horde) + 20 (Numbers) = 84
Defenders: 44 + 40 (Alphas) + 20 (Skill) = 104

Scafrir and Leman: 84 + 40 (Respect) – 20 (Believes it's unneeded) + 20 (Scafrir) – 20 (Scafrir's Beliefs) = 104
Purging Colchis: 88 + 40 (The Great Wolf) + 20 (Space Wolves) + 45 (Banish Runes, For the Lost, Sisters of Silence, For Those Denied Salvation) + 10 (Ever Vigilant, Ever Watchful) + 5 (Detection Runes) = 208
Space Wolves Corruption Resistance: 42 + 20 (Astartes) = 62
Wardens Corruption Resistance: 2 + 110 (Astartes, Till Death do us Apart, A Warden's Rage, New Orders, New Routine) = 112
Corruption: 97 + ?? = ???

Lion: 78 + 40 (The Lion) + 20 (Dark Angels) + 40 (Loyal Worlds) + 5 (Warden Support) = 183
Lorgar's Resistance: 24 - 40 (Fanatically Loyal) – 20 (No Sabotage) = -36

Scouting the Eye: 9 + 20 (Astartes) + 20 (Alpha Legion Trained) + 20 (Telepaths) = 69
Corruption Resistance: 76 + 110 (Astartes, Till Death do us Apart, A Warden's Rage, New Orders, New Routine) = 186
Corruption: 66 + 20 (Edge of the Eye) = 86
Base Quality: 36 + 20 (Astartes) = 56
Base Location: 79 - 20 (Eye of Terror) = 59

Sacramentum Scouts: 69 + 20 (Astartes) + 20 (Alpha Legion Trained) + 20 (Telepaths) = 129
Corruption Resistance: 21 + 110 (Astartes, Till Death do us Apart, A Warden's Rage, New Orders, New Routine) +5 (Omake) = 136
Nurglings Passive Corruptors: 82 + 50 (???) = 132
Have the chaos corruption rolls ever rolled bloody low I don't think they have the gits
