@Durin
1. How much time it will take for sirens to complete the warding? Same as if we did ourselves?
2. Will we have to spend any actions if we buy the warding from sirens?
3. How much would warding northern Spine cities (Cassarondo, Gormec, Helm s Deep, Lemnos) cost?

Right, that means that it's affordable for us to ward and maintain Dis with the entire set of wards, and I think it's very important for us to do so. Dis is our capital, largest hive, largest concentrated population, and a lot of our very important stuff is located here, including the Vault. It should be as protected as possible.
How about adding the Unseen University to that list?

@Durin

1. Will we autopay Souls as we expand Cities and Hives or will we need future Diplo actions?
2. Will the Sirens accept partial Soul payment for maintainence in exchange for partial maintainence?
3. So is this maths right? Large Cities are more efficient to ward than smaller cities?
Huge Hive = 16 (Dis)
Large Hive = 8
Small Hive = 4
Major City = 2

That would require him to be our heir. And he is unlikely to change his mind on that opinion anytime soon.
...
I originally meant that I don't want him in a position where his death would be disruptive (i.e. any leadership of a large organization), not before he manages to tame his luck.
By the time that happens (in next thread at least), he'll be clearly qualified for a high-ranking position (like an advisor or a governor (and in that timeframe, Avernus may change election method)), and he'll be just another name on the list of canditates, not pressured by anything besides his own qualifications and convictions.

We are not so desperate that we need to bankrupt ourselves due to an unsustainable model. We should go for a sustainable model with Simple Wards, I think. We may be able to increase to Basic after the Chaos ritual happens.

We also need to consider that warding our cities may reduce the amount of cultists generated in the first place - @Durin, is that a concern?

Disagree. We can afford the EM/AM maintainence of the Basic Wards. It's reduce our gross income (mostly from trade) to about nil, but we can do that.

Now yes, we want to do a lot of things which cost gazillions of AM & EM, APA specifically. However, we have recently gained access to numerous options which are extremely cheap yet still of high efficacy - The Skink Monsters, to be specific. The marginal cost is not as great as it otherwise would have been.

I'd rather be able to afford projects that cost AM and EM than not being able to afford them. As always, bigger stuff will become available, with exponentially bigger costs, as time goes on. And any model that brings us to nearly going into the red will hinder our ability to get those kinds of upgrades.

The next Imperial Trust trade is, like, next turn. We didn't even buy ALL the AM/EM the last trade.

Like, no kidding, we still have enough AM to do all the PA options.

Or, how about we don't spend our entire AM/EM income on that.
On a second thought, I dislike all our hives and cities getting just simple wards enough that spending more seems a better choice.

Our most important hive and most northern hive get cool kids wards, the rest get simple version. I'm not sure whether we can maintain Banishment Wards and how much do they cost, and so didn't place banishment wards in Cassarondo. There's an idea to place Basic Wards in Salem, our other Large Hive, but I'm not sure whether it's too costly or not.

Edit: Asked in Discord, and we can maintain Banishment Wards, at the cost of about half again Basic ones. That makes Banishment Wards for Cassarondo cost about 11 million AM and 125k EM per turn, which I think we can afford. Adding them in.

While we want more we still have things on Avernus we need to do like power armor, harvester tanks and such. We should come back to look at it after the time skip when we have hopefully built another huge forge city/huge forge and have Tranth go down the am/em/rm production chain.

We're trying to reduce our reliance on trade to get out of debt. Buying all the AM/EM will certainly dig us deeper back into that hole.
We massively reduced our debt last turn even with enormous AM/EM imports, of which Avernus has been a historic importer of for approximately the period of the Imperial Trust lifetime. Like all we have to do is just not take the APA options. Excising EM-intesive options from our backlog still leavaes us with over 100 years of options in the Munitorum on the conservative side of things.

In exchange we get enormous benefits against the ever-increasing spiral of chaos psykers - It's been getting worse literally every turn. The ration of Major:Minor Psyker went down to 1:58 this turn (1:99 at gamestart). Let's not even consider the consequences of the Chaos Ritual which will empower both Chaos and the STRONGEST psykers most, which are the literal intersection of where our biggest problems comes from. Combined with increasing populations and increased rates of psykerness, we need every reasonably-affordable advantage.

This is one of them.

yes but not massivly

Addendum: The cost of Basic Warding is about the same as Helguard APA before Trust subsidies incidentally.

Also just this turn we lost 140 Million people to Chaos Psykers.

Just a note, but at 16/159th the cost, just adding Banishment Wards to Dis and asking them to maintain it puts us into the negative on souls by a bit if we have them do simple ward maintenance. Adding Basic would increase that annual deficit a bit, and I'm not sure on the costs for adding to Cassarondo since I don't know how much that adds. We'd still have a large reserve that would take a while to burn through, but we would eventually burn through it.

I think if we wanted to go this route, we would want to have the Sirens maintain all the simple and basic wards, and maintain the Banishment Wards on Dis and Cassarondo ourself. I think that might be sustainable in terms of the soul trade until the Chaos Ritual hits and likely ups the cultist numbers, but I'm not sure since I don't have exact numbers for that.

Also, is this plan supposed to include simple ward maintenance? Or are you planning on paying for that ourselves?

I just had another thought. We are going to have a civil war during the time skip and while the best results will only be 20 years to repair all the damage that is still 20 years during a time of rebuilding and other unknown events. We should not try to gobble up every bit of Am/em because we need to prepare. Because any disruption could cause severe problems for us.

Not unless I fuck up math massively. 16/159th is a bit more than 6300 souls an year, which seems accurate, as it is a bit more than 10%.

I am planning on paying for that ourselves, yes. 60 million AM per turn is ~20% of our current income, which is a lot, but not too much a lot.

More reason to get the Basic Warding done.

I'm not sure what we want to use the 14 Million EM for, if not for the wards:

These?

They bill the Trust 20 times their maintanence cost. If not for the subsidies we may well not even be considering them.

The civil war will be targetting Vanaheim's shipyards. The repair costs for those are not AM/EM intensive.

If we want to avoid gobbling up all the AM/EM options we should stop selecting the APA options. The I.Trust subsidies for those are crazy.
