ok, "eldest one" === "ancient one".

if we can get him guarding Lin....I'd say thats a pretty good guard. what is he? like a multi-transcendent in combat or something?

edit: question, did durin already roll for Lin's 1% chance of transcendence? I heard he would get 1% chance on success with the peace talks and 5% if that critted.
One of the Top 5 combatants in the Galaxy. He is what the planet uses to fight Exalted Demons.

If the Transcedence had succeeded you would have seen Durin complaining about his dice and befuddlement at Saint Lin's luck. Durin expected Saint Lin to be dead long ago, but we kept doing things to extend his life.

FYI people, you can apparently click on the names in a vote-tally to see the post that they made that vote in. so you can click on the first name in a vote-row to see the plan itself (since that person votes for their own plan).

@Nurgle @Shard

while this would be useful long term, we might want to give notice instead. Having guilmans brothers on hand for when he wakes up would be pretty useful for getting him up to speed, and would likely make getting him to work with the rest of team sanity a lot smoother.

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring for giving Corax notice barring more information from Durin. Just to make sure everything goes well.

We don't need to with Vulkan already working on it and the Eldar already having told them Corvus is aware of what is going on. And he is not even needed Durin told us a long time ago when we started thinking about doing this that the wound itself was a normal one and that any decently skilled doctor could heal it with no problems.

:Citation Needed: Once again I would like a citation as to where it was said that Corvus is not necessary.

What we were told is that the wound is the easiest part of him to fix, which is indicative of how complex the rest of it is not that a gigantic hole in the throat of a Primarch with a compromised healing factor and upon whom most forms of healing are currently ineffective due to the curse of anathame is easy and requires anyone else but the absolute best.

The same could be said of your side to Wombat where is the citation where Corvus is necessary for the healing to work?

1. I am not the one claiming a citation.
2. It is a well established fact that Corvus is the best surgeon in the galaxy with an indepth understanding of Primarch biology.
3. I can cite canon at the ineffectual attempts to heal wounds afflicted by the anathame's curse.
4. I can citate that we don't need to ask Corvus he'll be there anyway unless we decide to ask someone else who will absolustely be less qualified.
4 do we need to ask for Corvus to be there to help heal Guilliman?

Oh no, a normal physical hole in the neck! However should it be fixed? Surely in tens of thousands years of medical history no one has found a way to close holes in the body to stop blood from coming out. Things like bandages, sutures or even a fucking fire to cauterize a wound remain in the realm of dreams.

Dude it's also a primarchs body how many surgeons do you think have worked on one?

Oh no a giant hole in the neck inflicted by the warp forged blades of a daemon primarch, its not like a similar hole completely flumoxed an astarte's personal doctor on how to close a far less sever wound as in the case of Konrad Curze, surely its within normal medical knowledge to work around the curse of the anathame that we already know no sells conventional attempts close such wounds such as the case of Horus.

Its almost like if it was a simple throat wound they'd have fucking healed that shit when he got it!

And how exactly bandaging or cauterizing a wound on a Primarch be different from a wound on an Astartes or normal human?
You mean aside from the fact that its not going to stop bleeding because you've put some bandages on it or the fact that you can't cauterise someone's entire freaking throat, cause its not some daintly little stab his entire throat has been practically ripped out.

Does anyone remember which turn we started asking about healing Guilliman? I'm looking for the quote from Durin, but I don't really want to look through 100+ pages because I can't remember when it was asked.

A very long time ago. Back when we started coming up with ideas for what Lin could use his big bang on.

how about when we started asking about the whole 3 wise man plan? I think it was sometime close to then that we asked about what would be needed for the physical wound.
IIRC someone I think maybe Enjou did an omake where that was a core component, but I don't believe it was ever confirmed as a core component.

As for when much more recently.

It wasn't an omake, just an idea for a ritual I pitched to Durin. The three were gonna be Ridcully (wound, blessing of Isha), Vlad (poison cure, via finding the healing herbs), and Lin (curse cure). Three old, wise human men who bring something unique to the table. Durin said all that would give it a moderate boost, IIRC. Vlad's out and about now, though, so I'm not sure how this has changed in terms of planning it and getting all the right people involved.

Someone give me a write-in option for Corax notification and a suggestion on best year to stuff it in. (I'm thinking Year 3, and getting rid of the Trolls diplomacy)

Why do people think that Wounds inflicted by Chaos are easy to heal? Like wtf. And @agumentic you know, with the Imperium there was almost zero advancement and more regression and the fall of it didn't help the matters? Also, who thinks that a wound inflicted by a Daemon Sword is easy to heal? Even if it's physical. I mean, even if it is only the physical part, you are still operating at a throat. Fuck ups can kill even a Primarch if he can't breath for too long or you know, something else happens. You are playing a very dangerous game by merely going for "good enough". Something like that can and will make our efforts worthless. Please don't play with Chaos luck. It swings both ways after all.

Durin was asked about how difficult the wound would be to heal, and he said something like a basic medic could do it. Its the poison and the curse that are the real issues. I'm just having difficulty finding a quote from that far back.

Pretty sure it's been mentioned that Corax is going to be there since the Eldar told him. Also if Corax is there could he technically count as the third wise man? He is a Primarch and seems like he could be the one to put the antidote made from the herbs Vlad gathered on Guilliman before working on the neck wound.

Pretty much this. Everyone agrees that the warp toxins/poisons and the curse are going to be hard as hell to cure. It's the physical wound itself that seems like much of an issue.

Not needed.

I think.

4 do we need to ask for Corvus to be there to help heal Guilliman?

If you want one tho

Make a Request-That Corvus Corax ready himself to heal his brother Guiliman's wounds.

I certainly can't remember something like that and despite all my requests for a citation none has materialised.

What I can say for certain is going by canon its certainly not a wound that any medic can fix, remember Guiliman was wounded at the battle of Thessala Battle of Thessala - Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum but he wasn't entombed until he got back to Maccragge.

Whilest I don't have definite numbers for how far away Thessala is from Maccrage I doubt that they didn't try to heal his gigantic throat wound in the intervening time. The failure of presumably the creme of the apothecary crop would indicate that it isn't as simple as just slabbing some bandages on it.

If he is going to be there not sure why he wouldn't be able to heal his own brother when he is one of the best mundane healers around and he is literally right there. It would literally take the guy less than ten minutes since if it's not healed by then Gillman is dead anyway. Not to mention he could probably stand in for Vlad as a replacement wise man. Which actually seems like it would help due to their connection to each other and the Emperor.

I know, I'm arguing against people saying for some reason that we don't need him or any old medic with some bandages will do.
