Yes, the only downside that I see from a Diplomacy transcendent, especially one that reaches it from stopping a war, is that we will probably get an important mallus to both martial and combat (unless if it is to defend himself or something like that)
Actually the major downside is it makes it slightly harder for Lin to become transcendence in Piety. But he is immortal so not really downside I guess.

Dawm it I am going to have to create a 4th log in for discord. I assume that is were Durin told us about it.
Yes.

I somehow doubt that.

Paragons and transcendnets so far have never inflicted a malus of any kind.

Do not count on Diplomacy transcendence. That is the single hardest kind if I remember correctly, and Lin is not even Paragon there yet.

Even with lucky rolls and us focusing on it he is not getting there before he dies.

Not to mention that the Lizardman War is not something that could be peacefully ended in a few decades, it has lasted for millions of years.

It is older then human civilization.

If Lin transcends in Piety or otherwise survives though, I am all for trying.

Admin is the hardest, but diplo is the second hardest.

However the rareity owes itself to how infrequently situations come up where one is appropriate.

Let us see, but I think it is worth it even to extend the truce so they're building up.

Well I mean. He's already gotten a cease fire. Apparently its possible for peace to happen, simply unlikely. But with the re-rolls and bonuses, its less unlikely than one might think. Especially if he manages to get paragon diplomacy. Might not get transcendence, but hell, anything that gets him more stats is nice.

I think Lin is way too far off from 60 diplomacy to bother trying for transcendent there.

Though admittedly I wouldn't be surprised if he got paragon diplomacy just for having negotiated a cease fire in such a long war despite being only 46 diplomacy.

I hope the trait he's getting next turn is good. I really hope that it comes with a +L, because he might have needed to learn about lizardmen culture and history during the negotiations, but that's probably not very likely.

I wouldn't underestimate the trait he could get for ending a 60 million year old war :)

Gotta remember that he's got a trait that massively boosts his ability to gain traits. His stats are way too far off for other people to bother trying for transcendent, but not him.

Besides that, Durin confirmed on the Discord that ending a tens of millions of years war has a chance of transcendence. If he gets a Paragon for what he managed this turn, that will be possible, because if he got a truce without a Paragon, he'd certainly have a chance of getting a peace with one.

Fun fact, without the BCJ (+10% to every stat) Rotbart has 248 total stat points.

Klovis has 260.

Jane 199.

Jacob 248. Same as us.

Tranth 207.

Chapter Master Gaius Julius "Invictus" of the Varangian Guard? 239.

Lin has 302. If his burning out malus gets fixed? 324.

For comparison Vlad, the dozens of millennia old explorer from the Dark Age of Technology? 309.

Btw @Durin it seems that you forgot to update Vlads character sheet here.
Edit: Never mind, I missed the Secret.

Gotta wonder how much energy is bound up in that?

60 million years worth of powerfully psycic creatures beating the piss out of each other without end, both completely convinced the other is right?

Seems like the kinda thing you could perform a ritual with.

Dunno if you missed it or not, but just in case Vlad's sheet is hidden in Dalv's at the bottom of it.
