I think we also ought to try and exhaust the other avenues of research open to Lin before we get him to investigate the Primordial Sea. Get him to finish safe avenues of research and record everything, and then once there's nothing really left for him to do he can go for the super risky option.
I agree, Lin is way too valuable to risk for nebulous gains in a game that is pretty much russian roulette.
Issue with that is how long he got.

If we wait too long than even in the wild assumption he succeeds and doesn't die then he may not have time to do much follow up if needed.
Going to point out that that is actually the same logic that people use to push for Lin to try to look up ways to identify and deal with taint without him since once he is gone there really isn't anything we can do on that part and Lin is the best person for it.

On the one hand, the fact that we have so many upgrades to implement is deeply satisfying, because for the forseeable future we're just going to snowball ridiculously. However, at the same time, implementing all those incremental upgrades is going to be horribly tedious and repetitive, no matter how worthwhile.

So what does Ironbusta's WAAAGGHHH focus on? Name suggested a whole lotta cyborks, or Ork Techbane from the other end, but I got no clue what's actually right.

While on the topic of Lin's research really think we should take the action to have him look into chaos taint since once we have that it would be a lot easier to deal with corruption and detect it since we wouldn't be relying solely on Saint Lin. May also make Chaos frequency research easier which is what we want to look into to try to find a way to purify chaos taint which is also something we really want to get before Lin dies since he is the only one that could seriously help there.

Also think we should take at least the anti-psyker training for the military since even Jane admitted that our current measures aren't ideal long term and it's a ten year action.

Okay so taking a look at the turn again:
Munitorium- 2 actions (1 5 yr, 1 1yr)
Void- 2 actions (2 2yr)
Admin- 1 action (1 3yr)
Diplo- 1 action (1 2yr)
Arbites- 2 actions (2 5yr)
Mechanicus- 1 action (1 2 yr)
Ministroum- 2 actions (2 2yr)
Telepathica- 2 actions (1 2yr (ridcully), 1 1yr (???))+ 1 Free Divination (I think we get one of these a turn)
Personal- 1 action (1 5yr-personal only)

Mechanicus has to be expand military option to fulfill our promise, no backing out of that. Arbites is going to be a mix of counter intel and psykker hunting. Personal, both PA and Construction Expertise are locked so limited avenues there. Ridcully we probably want to try and nudge the waagh to a different target to give us time to build up and implement the tech we have while at the same time weakening the foe we redirect them towards.

Admin- probably one of the tech implementations, pop would be my choice as our food deficit is not big enough to burn through our reserves before we can increase production.

Munitorium- Power weapons as a 5 year option we can do in case we can't redirect the waagh as we know it will be ready in time, plus we will want to grab it at some point any way, the other volkite implementation so that we can figure out what mix of volkite and pulse weapons to equip our troops with. (Though we could do implement volkite and power weapons in the 5 yr slot, letting us start on another project, maybe one of the anti-psyker or maybe pdf pulse).

Syr's Suitors- Syr has agreed to marry if you can find her a good match that is also a combat veteran, a task that should not be to hard in the Imperial Trust. Klovis-Ultan has offered to spend a year examining the Imeprial Trust, and Dragon's Nest, for potential suitors and investigating them.

Time: 1 year
Chance of Success: 60%

Cost: Free
Reward: Information on potential husbands for Syr
Klovis-Ultan : Diplomat, Inquisitor, Matchmaker.
Fabricator-General Scott does remind you that you promised to provide the funding for an expansion of the Mechanicus military forces within the next five years though.
Gosh and we've got so many choices for how and when we do that this turn. :V

I am very excited about Lin and his actions. If we can finish studying Created Gods we could very well get a bonus for completing the entire set of God Types. Additionally, if we can manage to successfully study the Primordial Warp, something the Eldar haven't even done, I think we have a very real chance of pushing past the piety threshold into Trancendence. We also have a very real chance if Lin dying, but big risks and big rewards you know?

Also, are there any gods that we still need to study? We've got the main ones, but I know a few minor ones exist that we could look into.

One thing to consider: I would be completely unsurprised if the PSea could corrupt the Emperor bits in Lins soul, which could be... bad.

I also do not believe that the Eldar Empire did not research it. It is far more likely that the knowledge was heavily classified and did not survive the Fall.

Oh right, should also probably check out marriage optiops for Syr this turn since one option is that knight guy which would give us a knight house on Avernus and thus letting us have psyker knights which would likely be a huge boost to our forces.

Psyker Knights need a LOT of work to se up, and I highly doubt that we need to marry Syr to get a Knight house. We have excellent relations with Asgard.

Hey, has anyone ever brought up using diplomacy to investigate how Vanahiem trains its naval forces? We could get part of their skill bonus if it works out.

Also, just getting it out there early, but next time we have the opportunity to meet with someone outside of a meeting I suggest we meet with Ulfric of Nilflheim and ask him whether he's interested in sending some colonists to inhabit the ice planet in our system.
There are a bunch of things in 40k that wipe out planets, them spreading out would be good for preserving their culture and would provide us with more resources, including a place to raise Blank Bears en masse if that seems useful.

Edit: also for pity's sake someone work in asking the Sirens about the new trade good options we came up with.

Can't we send Vlad to invade Dragon Nest, them make a report of their vulnerabilities?
(Under the Authority of the Inquisition of Course)

We have excellent relationships with all of Trust, and Asgardians offer good enough Combat and Piety for long-term survival on Avernus (and the Asgardian hero from omakes already spent over 50 years on Avernus). Also I don't see how setting up Psy-Knight would be that much effort, aside from setting a psyker order and organising some training from Asgardians.

Also people were planning for establushment of a regular Knight house in Tarrascon, because Deathworlder Knights are shiny, and obviuosly Knights are best way to fight dragons.

Ok changing Vlad request to talking to the sirens about trading Tau tech for runes. Of course the issue is that they don't want Tau tech and want water proof tech.

May change around Saint lin's Actions around do the chaos detection with a double down.

In terms of things I think getting power armor for siege and void PDF should be considered if at all possible, since those are the two who would probably benefit the most what with having to fight Orcs in close quarters. We should also consider doing the anti psyker rolls, for the main troops at the least if not the militia ASAP, since we'll be needing that sooner or later and having the PDF with bonuses will let us send more units offworld without compromising as much for rogue pskyer attacks.

I agree on waiting on the risk with Lin.

@Durin
1. I'm less interested in them giving him a bonus and more in finding a way to minimise the risk to him. For example, deploying an Avatar of Gea to try and stop him going mad from the things he sees.
2. If they have it in your pantheon maybe deploying an avatar of Hoeth to assist him in his research?
Are things like that possible?
3. How important do the Eldar rate info on the Sea according to Eldrad through Rid?
4. Does his Rod, reduce the risk to himself, or not at all?
1. possibly but they will not expose an Avatar of one of their gods to something that corrupts gods

Hmm before we do the final Saint Lin study of the primordial sea we should see about getting the Sirens, penguins and Areatha to help. Also anyone else anyone can think of.
